The eyes normally filled with pride and power, were now dull and listless in the fog that had become his memory. He couldn't remember anything. Not his past. Not his present, nor his name, or the fact that there were wolves waiting for his return. Those memories had been locked away by an unkown force. The wolf, who's right eye was red, and his left eye no longer yellow, but instead, a dull pale color. He couldn't see out of that eye anymore. It was blind. Wish I may Wish I might be someone else tonight Sometimes I wish I was never born at all And I'll try to save the world Cause in the end I know I'm the chosen one I'm the chosen one Demons were surrounding him. Had Surrounded him. The intention of the low class mindless beasts was to make a meal of him. They were however. Dead. Their corpses were charred, as was a large circle around the wolf sitting in the middle. He had no clue how this had happened. It was as if a great flame had washed over them and destroyed the threat before him. He stared up into the sky. The clouds were darkening, and thunder was beginning to roar. I can't remember What I used to be Something's turning me upside down You made me I love you But I can't change things I've done One drop. Then two. It was beginning to rain, and with a few more claps of thunder, it began to downpour. The smell of burnt flesh was washed away. It also washed away the dried blood on the wolf's fur, revealing several deep wounds and gashes. They would scar eventually. Because, the demonic half that would have healed the wounds was gone. Leaving this wolf who could not remember who he was, a simple dire wolf and nothing more. No matter how much I think, I can't remember anything." The wolf said softly as the downpour soaked his fur. It was decided that staying in this spot wouldn't do anybody any good. He moved away from the dead low class demons, finding a small cave. He went into it and sat down in the back, staring out of the mouth. He wondered, was anybody missing him? And just what had he forgotten? There were demons about that night too, some from the forces he had once served mercenary for, others from apposing forces he had assassinated or boldly murdered. So it was best just to keep to himself. But not he needed shelter, anywhere where he could get out of the rain and not have to brace against the clap of roaring thunder and shield his eyes from the violent slashes of lightening. Rain soaked him down to the bone. He was a creature of peculiar looks, hidden in the shadow by his coal-black coat, his violent white face a skeletal mask, eyes white like demons. They bobbed in the night, only visible when lightning cut the skies. And there it was, not far ahead, Nehebkhau Ra, a mercenary demon, part Baroque part Druin spotted the old cave during a flash. With a growl he sped towards it and then dipped his head as he crawled inside. Though relieved to be out of the rain, Neheb could not help but be overcome by the feeling that someone else was in there with him. Oh but of course. He rolled his eyes, which quickly adjusted to the darkness there within. A familiar face flashed in his vision, his lips curled back and the fur stood up on the end of his neck as his tail swished instinctively at the mouth of the cave. "Such a high class warrior, hiding from the roaring thunder?" He laid in the cave soaked to the bone as well. Smelling like wet dog and looking like a drowned rat. There was a trail of blood that led into the cave, and the wolf's body had various wounds and gashes on it. Not that he seemed to be affected by any of it. That was of course, the work of another. He wolf kept hearing someone calling out to him, a female's voice. He couldn't tell if a female was really around or if it was just in his head. The wolf was brought out of his thoughts by another very strange and fearsome looking beast. "Huh? I'm no warrior sir... Least.. I don't think I am... Am I? Wait I forgot.. Hi I'm...........I'm............................. I don't honestly know who I am sir." There was a smile on his face. Which anyone who had known Xaion from before would know that he never smiled. The wolf moved deeper into the cave to let Ra get out of the rain. He sat down, gazing out into the empty sky. "So.. Do you know me then?" The wolf whom Neheb had once fought long ago was smiling at him like a blathering fool. It was an odd thing even for this strange hybrid and all at once his gaurd fell. This creature even strived so far as to call him Sir, showing an utmost respect. Nehebkhau settled back on his rump and observed Xaion whom shuffled to let his new companion in. It took Neheb a few moments of suspicious glaring before he finally moved a little further into the cavern and pushed himself snuggly against the wall. "So.. Do you know me then?" Nehebkhau nodded slowly, his masked face bobbing in the dim light of the cave. "We fou-...we travelled a long while back. You're another mercenery. You never told me your name though I'm afraid." He looked at his own paws, suddenly feeling very overly aware of the fact that Xaion looked very much like Kollin. It made the scorpion-tailed beast feel slightly self conscious. After a few moments Neheb finally announced. The smile had faded now into a more stoic look as he tried to make sense of memory loss. He shook his head softly at the sound of being a mercenary. He wasn't the type for that, or at least he didn't think he was. You weren't a mercenary. You were just a lone wolf. Wake up already! The wolf's eyes snapped back to attention as he heard the voice clear as day now. To prevent the other from finding him insane, he just didn't say anything about the voice. He instead just looked at Ra, gazing softly at him. "Nehebkhau Ra... It sounds familiar somehow but I don't remember anything about you.. You look strong though, so i'm glad your an ally. Or at the very least not out to kill me." He pulled his tail up and around himself, keeping it safe against himself and nowhere near Xaion huddled nearer to the back of the cavern. He tried to shake himself a tiny bit, dispensing of the excess water in his fur that sent a slight spray everywhere. "I'm sorry you can't remember all that," he said quietly, gazing back out into the rain and feeling an awkward silence coming on which deep inside he slightly resented. This was indeed a most odd occurance, and though Neheb remembered Xaion telling him of a mercenary past when they had fought long ago, perhaps as a way to psyche him out, but Neheb had never known that. And as far as he knew, Xaion was no more then that still. He did not know that the wolf and fellow mix-blooded creature had gone on to become the king of his own domain and had indeed been mutinized and thrust away from his power and his home. "So, where do you plan to go from here? Not knowing anything and all that.." It was a most interesting device that much was certain. The tail had the wolf's full attention as it curled around Ra. The other creature shook the water off himself and the amnesia wolf did the same. His fur puffed out a bit. The wolf gazed back at Ra, and one thing Ra might notice was his eyes. The right eye was still red, but his left eye that was yellow in the past was now blank. It looked like a blind eye, and indeed the wolf was now blind in that eye. Idiot! Can't you hear my voice! Dammit... Why the hell did she build that freakin barrier so strong! I can't unblock your memories so YOU have to do it! The wolf began to shake his head violently as he heard the strange female's voice again. It was somebody that had been with him since his birth, yet somebody he was never able to hear until now. I'm not a figment.. So stop ignoring me! listen closely, my name is........... It was no good. The wolf could not understand her name, nor did he know who she was. He sighed softly and looked back at Ra, gazing at him. "Do you hear a voice at all? Well... Nevermind. I just have to regain my memories. I'm gonna stick around here till my wounds heal though." He said softly, gazing at the various gashes and scars on his body. Yep, there it was. "Do you hear a voice at all? Well... Nevermind." He shook his head a little. So he had popped the good old crazy question, well that was a damn shame. Neheb looked at Xaion out of the corner of his eyes, sizing up this other wolf with a keen yet relishing eye in secret. It was almost shocking how much this wolf resembled that old face that he now liked to bury somewhere deep down inside of himself where he would not find it until it found him. Something peculiar happened then. This wolf could not remember his name or his home and something touched Nehebkhau in an area he felt was very uncomfortable. Call it emotional violation. But as much as it nagged at him he could not shake it off. He had faced off with this devil long ago but nothing in those perplexing two-toned eyes remembered him. "Should you need help regaining your memories, I would gladly oblige." Though he had indeed spoken casually, he felt as though he had blurted it. Before adding hastily onto the end. "I cannot rightfully leave a creature out in the world without a clue." Yes, make excuses for your guilty pleasure. You*********... Dammit. I Can't even Tell you memories! Fine.. Listen, i'm going to keep trying to reach you, and i'm going to protect you. But you listen and you listen good. My. Name. is. *********. Try and remember it, even if you can't hear it now, you know it, and you WILL remember it. Xaion was staring off into space now. He was quite, listening to that voice in his head try and tell him something about Neb. He couldn't understand a word of it however. Neither could he hear the women's name. He sighed softly, sitting down. A look of confusion on his face, who was trying to talk to him and why? He just didn't understand it. When the strange looking creature offered to help him regain his memories, the nameless wolf was snapped out of his stupor. "Thanks um... Nehebkhau was it? Sorry... This women keeps trying to tell me her name and I can never hear her.. Sorry, don't mean to sound crazy." With that, the male layed down on the floor of the cave. His wounds had stopped bleeding, but they still pained him terribly though he didn't show it. A light yawn escaped his maw as he stretched out to relax himself, unknowingly showing off for Neb. To be so obviously crazy and aware of it must've been quite the battle in this wolf's head and he could really only imagine. He had lain down and his form was quite lax except for the quiet sheen of muscle against his fur. Nehebkhau was quite well-built a creature of obvious stamina and strength, and despite himself he was flexing his body gently, feeling the need to display his power and his capability, seeking granted comradship that had - without his knowing - gained quite easily from this wolf now gone mad. He eyed the other's wounds as Xaion stretched himself out and his own musculature came into view, pleasing Nehebkhau's eyes greatly. He smiled in his head but did not outwardly show it, wary to shield such thoughts from other wolves as it was only natural to him. His scorpionic tail quivered slightly and his eyes roamed over Xaion's body whilst he was not looking, the other's eyes closed in exhaustion. "Is there anything you need?" Asked purely out of instinct. A strange thing had come over the warrior wolf. He lifted his head a little and fixed his eyes more obviously upon his companion. "You're harshly wounded my friend." Xaion's mixed colored gaze was fixated on Nehb right now. The beast was just so strong looking compared to himself, and honestly a bit scary. Xaion in his current state still held the powerful body of an alpha. Standing in at 5ft tall. However, his demenour and current attitude were just too peaceful for anyone to believe he could be dangerous. Of course as it stood right now, Xaion couldn't even use his most basic of fire magic. Not so long as he and his spirit weren't in sync. "Yeah... I'm not sure how I got these wounds.. I kinda woke up with them and then demons tried to eat me... I passed out, and when I woke up the ground was charred in a large circle around me and all the demons were burnt to death.. Not sure how that happened either, not sure of anything really. Sorry, i'm rambling um.. No I think i'm fine. they don't hurt all that bad.. I'm sure if I Just take it easy for awhile they'll heal on their own.." The wolf gave another yawn, eyes still closed. Yes, he was a bit afraid of Ra but not enough to run from him. If anything, Ra was going to be his protecter while his wounds healed. Until they did, he couldn't leave even if he wanted too. Not that he wanted too, he liked the company.
