Aurek was unaware of Brooke's nightmare until she woke up, eyes terrified and voice schrieking bloody murder. Ignoring the fact it was worse since they were inside a cave, he lowered his stance to show he wasn't hostile and moved toward her. If she allowed, he would try and get right in front of her. "Brooke! Calm down!" he commanded strongly. "You're safe. It's me, Aurek. I won't hurt you," he said more softly and reassuringly.
He hoped she would recognize his voice and come to. Perhaps her mind was still asleep even if her body was awake. If that was the case, he had to help her snap out of it. But he waited to see how she would react to his commands and voice.

Brooke could hear Aurek's voice, but she couldn't find her own. All that came out were screams. She could see Aurek, but her body was moving on it's own. Her vision blurred from nightmare to cave, then back again. She noticed that each scene was changing as she flickered between the two. One moment Aurek was 10 feet away, the next he was 5 feet away, and then finally, he was standing in front of Brooke. As her screams died down, her vision faded back to the cave with Aurek in front of her. Her breathing was fast, and hard, still in shock from the nightmare. Once she caught her breath, she could only think of one thing to say; "Blood."

Aurek was glad when she at last stopped screaming, though her face was still in terror. His ears caught the word which slipped from her panting lips and he couldn't help but have a brief memory from puppyhood, from the night when he had first and accidentally discovered his powers. But he pushed it aside.
"You've nothing to fear, Brooke. There isn't any blood. You're okay. You're safe." He repeated those last words several times, trying to reassure her. He wondered what could have brought this on, or at least, this intense of a reaction. He wondered if something had happened to her in the past, in his absence. But for the time being he had no clue. All he could do was try and get her to regain herself.
"You're alright, you're safe. I'm here," he murmured, attempting to give her a bit of a wolfish hug.

The last echoing scream died away, leaving Brooke and Aurek in the silent cave. Only the occasional drop of water broke the silence. Brooke began to came to, realizing what had happened and where she was. She could feel Aurek next to her, comforting her. She muzzled her face into his chest, using all the comfort she could get. A drop of water fell from the roof of the cave, dropping onto Brooke's back. Without the bat of an eye, it was absorbed into her body. Her body naturally absorbs water when ever she needs it. She found this as a useful talent, especially when she was weak. This was often the time she went swimming. She sighed and took her muzzle away from Aurek. "How long was I like ... that." She couldn't even find words to describe what it was. It was a dream, that much she knew, but it was so real, to real. Like someone had lived through that exact moment.
((2 questions. How do you get the light blue color, like you have for a new life. And, what do the cookies mean? All I know is that you have a lot.))

OoC: Answer #1: Well, to get any color, use a color code ^-^ being, for proboards, texttext[/ color] without the spaces. I think you already knew this since Brooke's profile has a teal color. To get a different color than the ones listed here, you have to use a code with letters and numbers called a hex code. You can find a chart by clicking here. There are lots of color charts for coding out there so if you're looking for a different color just type in "color chart" on google and it'll pop up with some different options ^^ Hope that helps and isn't too confusing DX
Answer #2: The cookies don't mean anything in particular. They used to be a sort of standing among the folks here but now you can just give cookies if you feel like it or if you're upset with someone you can take cookies away. It's sorta just a silly thing. I have so many because a while back things got a little carried away and no one changed mine back to a lower number when things changed hehe xD Also, upon noticing this I requested my cookies remain lol
iC:
He noticed when she became aware of his presence by the way she accepted his hug. It was silent a moment until she asked him about her recent state. He was silent only briefly. "Not long, only a few moments perhaps," he stated. "Anyway, don't worry about it. It was just a dream. Nothing can harm you, at least while we're here." He paused. "You don't have to tell me about it if you don't want to.. I mean if it's uncomfortable for you or anything. But I'm here for you."
He let her stay like that for as long as she wished, hoping to make her feel more comforted. Besides, he wasn't in any rush for anything at the moment, so he simply was there for her.

Brooke thought for sure it had been more time than that. Maybe she was fine until she saw the blood. She couldn't think about it anymore, or she knew what would happen. She wanted to tell him about the dream, to help her make sense of it. But, she just couldn't. Just thinking about her gave her chills. Brooke lifted her head to look further into the cave. Nothing, just a dark hallway. She turned her head in the other direction in which she had come. It was also dark, like the cave was never ending and there was no way out. "Where are we?," Brooke asked turning back to face Aurek.

She didn't want to talk about it. Alright, fair enough, he thought. Afterall, he didn't want to push her if she wasn't ready. She asked him their whereabouts, and a smile lit up his face. "Well, a cave, obviously." He winked, indicating he was messing around and then gave her a better answer. "It's in the Sunai Wetlands outside of the Shinkou Packlands. I came here a long while ago to be by myself and left alone while I sorted through some things in my life. It gave me the peace and time I needed. Don't worry, no one will find or bother us here. Unless I want them to."
He paused, shifting away from her. "If you'd like I can show you around. Inside or outside the cave. Maybe even catch a rabbit or two." He smiled, letting her decide whatever she wanted to do.

Brooke nudged him with her shoulder as he teased her. She obviously knew she was in a cave, a dark cave at that. She had heard about the Sunai Wetlands before, but she was always scared to leave the safety of her home. As he continued, one thing caught her attention. Who would be living here, or even in the wetlands. She liked water, but mud wasn't at the top of her favorites list. "There aren't any humans here are there?" She thought that it wasn't likely for a human to live here, but maybe they were hunting. She had heard stories about humans being this close to Shinkou, and that was what scared her.

Aurek gave another smile and shook his head. "No, not here. Humans usually don't come here unless they're not really human or extremely lost." With this he gave a light chuckle. "Don't worry. Here, and with me, there's nothing to be afraid of." He began to lead her back up the tunnel toward the main cavern and its entrance. "Come on, I think you'll really like it." He hoped she would anyway. She was the first and only other being he would show this place to... at least that he could think of at the moment.
If she would follow him, he would lead her outside, the night air cool though pleasant. To her right she would see a waterfall cascading to a pool below, not grand in size but beautiful nonetheless. If she looked down she would see a rocky slope, it becoming clear they were atop a ledge in a small mountain. To her right she would see it curve around out of sight leaving a beautiful view of the Sunai Wetlands. Far below was the canopy of trees giving way to the Kami Lake which shimmered in the light from the heavens. Brooke would see they were on the edge of the Wetlands rather than in its heart.
"Would you like to take a swim in the pool where the waterfall ends? Or are you up for something else?" he questioned, also looking at her to gauge her reaction.

Brooke gave a sigh of relief when Aurek assured her there were no humans, she had always been frightened of them and wasn't wanting to meet any. She followed him as he led her through the cave, arriving to the cool night air. Her tail began to wag as she heard the roar of a waterfall. They stopped at the edge of a cliff, looking down, she saw a forest of trees, covering a lake that glistened under the moon. The sight was surely breathtaking, far more beautiful than she had imagined. Her eyes glowed at the sound of the word, it was all she needed to find hope. Not to mention Aurek. She didn't think she could live without him, or water.
Sorry the shade of blue keeps changing. I can't decide, there are so many shades to choose from ^-^

The brown wolven was glad to see she appeared pleased. He couldn't help a smile that formed its way onto his lips. "What do you say, Brooke?" he questioned, indicating the suggestions he had mentioned before and being patient with her. He thought she might be somewhat speechless. "It's whatever you want to do."

"Well, I say we should swim. Unless you can't." She meant it as a joke, but also serious, she hadn't a clue if he could swim or not. To her it came naturally, like walking. But to others, she didn't know. She turned her body to the right, indicating she was going in that direction. SHe began to trot, then run, and finally sprinting before jumping into the pond. The water was cold as she jumped into the pool of water. She got used to it before she even reached the bottom. She stayed under for a couple of minutes, letting her body absorb the water it needed. The fish swam past her, as if it was normal for a wolf to be under this long. Well, under the water at all.
Her head bobbed up to the surface, exploring the scene with her eyes. The water was a light blue, clear enough to see through. The ground had a rocky bottom, smoothed by the years of water. The rocks looked almost like marble, lost under water for decades. She began to swim towards the waterfall, it splashed her face and roared louder and louder as she drew closer. Behind it, she couldn't see a wall, but a dark circle. She put her head under the waterfall, it beat down on her head as she looked into a cave. It seemed as it was untouched, like no one had ever found it before. She let the waterfall push her down, bobbing her head out of the water a few feet away. "Aurek, you have to see this."

Aurek laughed when she jested about his ability to swim, and watched as she darted for the water after making her decision. He followed suit, making his way down the slope and finally finding himself also emerged in the pool's cool depths. It felt good, and he playfully nipped at some of the fish, they zooming away.
Soon, Brooke's voice carried over to his ears and he looked in her direction, ears popping up in a curious manner. "What is it?" Although Aurek had spent quite some time here in the past, he had spent most of it in the cave above or wandering through the trees nearby, only stopping at the pool to drink or swim about now and then. He had never really taken time to explore the waters since he hadn't really had a reason to. Thus, he would have no knowledge of the cave behind the falls. In any case, he swam toward her, following if she would lead him through the pounding water to what lay behind. And if so, he would look on with curiosity and a bit of mischief. "Well, well. A surprise in store. Want to explore?" he asked, looking in her direction once more.

Brooke was skeptic about the idea of entering the small cave that was hidden behind the waterfall that splashed her every now and again. She nodded and began to move closer to the cave. As her head entered its' mouth, she felt hot, humid air eating at her. It was soothing but as she got further and further into the depths of the cave, it made her wet and stick together. The clung to her skin, making her uncomfortable and awkward to move. Her paw stepped into a puddle of liquid, it made a squishing noise as she lifted her paw up to inspect. No, no no no! It couldn't be! Blood, just like in her dream. She looked up, down, and at all the sides inside the cave, they too were covered with the sticky, red liquid. She began to freak, jumping up and down. Lashing her head back and forth, trying to erase the memory. Thinking that it might work, she looked back at the ground. Still there, stuck in between the pads of her paw. She didn't know what to do, where to go. So she ran, further and further into the cave, trying to escape the dreadful cave. She knew this had been a bad idea. But she didn't want to feel like a wuss in front of Aurek, not when he had just saved her life. He had seemed so eager to explore the unknown cave. She didn't know where she was going, and she couldn't smell the blood. All she could smell was the fresh scent of water, and the musty smell of a cave. Maybe, just maybe it was a hallucination and she had gone crazy.

OoC: So, I got this idea as I read your post and I hope you don't mind xD
iC:
Aurek moved forward as well, senses alert. The dripping of water from within the cave echoed off the walls and he felt as it grew cooler. Brooke seemed to be moving ahead of him, and then all of a sudden, she stepped in a mud puddle and freaked out, dashing into the cave. "Brooke! Wait!" he called after her, his voice resounding. He wasn't sure what she was all in a panick about.
--
As Brooke ran, she perhaps might see faces start to form in the walls around her, different expressions but they emerging until it became the same face appearing over and over again. Suddenly, the face would appear before her, a large paw raised as if to make her stop in her tracks. "And what do you think you're doing?" would come a strange voice. It seemed a mixture of many in one speaking, and clearly came from the direction of the face.
If she were to stop and look closely, she would see a body seem to form out of thin air behind the paw and face, until the entirety of a large wolf stood before her. It seemed to be a mixture of all colors until it finally stopped at a gray mixed with rusty brown. The eyes were pale and alight. Brooke might think this was a ghost, or spirit of some kind. And she wouldn't be too far off if she did guess such.
"Who dares to trespass here in this cave of mine?"
Aurek soon caught up, panting slightly and quickly assessed the situation. Who was this weirdo? Where had it come from... it since he couldn't discern male or female in this creature? And what was it talking about? "Your cave? Well excuse me," he said sarcastically, "but this cave had no markings or indication of habitation. Now reveal yourself."
The wolf would look at Aurek sharply, obviously offended. "I asked the first question. I will be answered first." It turned its gaze to Brooke once more, indicating it was awaiting her response, albeit impatiently. "Come, come now. Hurry it up."
