Luke offered Kara a small smile yet he continued his slow pace. The corded muscles of his legs moved fluidly with each step. His tail flicked slowly behind him in a serpentine motion. Part of a hideous scar could be seen beneath the patch of gold fabric that covered his left eye.

She smiled back and then hurried to go where their destination was.
Seeing the other two ahead, she slowed to a mere trot. She caught up and sat herself down nearby. "Are you ok?" she asked, half out of breath.

Kindare looked at Kara for a moment darkly. Slowly he rose to all four legs and began to walk off. A horrible crunching noise came as he walked.
Rivertail shook his head. "Don't mind him. Well I need to go back to Birchclaw. See you all later." With that the gray furred masculine darted off into the brush.
Luke watched as Kindare continued to walk, ignoring the pain of walking on his broken leg. Slowly the one eyes wolf shook his head. "That fool. See his ex father in law always told Kindare that a strong wold did not acknowledge pain. Well that's what Kin tells me atleast."

Kara winced at each crunch as he walked. She cocked her head and swiveled her ears to listen to Luke. "I see," said she, half in a daze. She felt sorry for Kindare, she wished that she could help him. Why was he so suddenly drawn back to her? her mind could not understand this. For some reason, she felt beside her wild nature. She felt soft and caring but she could not exactly figure out why.

With a heavy crash Kindare fell down a small hill. After a few moments of lieing on the bottom he rose and began his limping trek. The masculine padded almost mechanically.
Luke shook his head and padded slowly behind his injured brother. "The fool. I know not to help him though. His pride is something he holds dearly. He'll walk on that leg until it heals. He always does."

She too shook her head and slowly trotted after them. "I think I know how, but it will take time, and much patience. I understand it is what he always does, but one day, it won't heal, or else it will heal in the wrong way. His luck won't last forever," she muttered the last part. She looked up and caught up to Luke, running just behind his shoulder, her tail drooping. She still could not understand why emotions were taking over her wild heart.

After what may have been hours or may have been only minutes Kindare slowly laid down on the earth. His tongue slowly licked his wound as he rested quietly.
Luke leapt up into a nearby tree, lieing upon a thick branch. His red eyes watched his younger brother almost softly for a moment yet it was hard to tell. Slowly his black tail flicked over the edge of the branch.

She stopped, looking at both the males, as if undecided which one to lay down by. She sighed. Looking at both of them again, she simply decided that it would be easier to be near Kindare since he was on the ground. She trotted over to where he was lying. She arched her neck as her head bent down closer, and her shadow fell over his lying body. "I'm sorry if I offended you," she said softly. "I should not have asked and I hope you can find it in yourself to forgive me. I was hoping we could make things better." She glanced up at Luke, and wondered exactly how he had gotten the huge scar that now gave him sight to only one eye.

Kindare curled up tight on the ground. He hid his head beneat his plume of black pelt. "Please...leave me alone...just for a while." His voice was shaky and sounded to be on the verge of tears.
Luke shook his head at his brother's words and let himself roll over. He plumetted to the ground and landed deftly on his feet. Slowly he leapt onto a rock and decided it would be better to lie down there.

She could not understand a thing, and she wished he would try to be more, well, she didn't know quite what. She shot him one last glance before turning and going towards his brother. She plopped herself down at the base of the rock, and slowly let herself begin to rest.

Luke looked down at her and seemed to sense her feelings. "Don't mind Kin. He just needs some alone time. Ain't that right kin?" All he got for a reply was a low growl. Luke nodded as if it proved his statement. "See?"

"I know," she sighed, "But thanks anyways." She looked up at him and then rested her head on her paws. She curled her tail around her legs and slightly relaxed.

Luke nodded and slowly let his head rest upon his forepaws. With a yawn he stretched out and let his tail flick slowly. "Hmmm." A bit of his eyepatch was drawn away so if anyone looked they could see what was held behind that gold fabric.

Kara awoke. She looked around and remembered everything from the day before. She wondered if she could talk to Kindare now. She looked up at Luke, and smiled. If it hadn't been for him, she never would have gotten anywhere. She rose and stood on her feet. She walked over to where Kindare lay. She decided to wait for his awake, so she sat quietly by him, patiently waiting.

Kindare was already awake. Sometime when everyone had been sleeping he had reset his broken leg. Now it lat before him, wrapped within tendon he had collected from the deer and sticks to keep it in place. His red eyes looked to the femme as she approached him.
