Alright, so, there's a problem I've noticed.
Everyone here has known each other for awhile, at least most people. Therefore kind of like in a high school, some of us tend to glomp to one group, leaving others out (not intentionally).
What I mean by leaving others out is RP wise.
I've been talking to some people from some other sites, and when i tell them I am a member of Shinkou Ookami, they tell me: "Yeah, I joined that site, I couldn't get anyone to RP with me though, so, I gave up."
It saddens me that people don't stick around on this site, because this site really is amazing. Despite being really welcoming and making sure to give a greeting to all the newbies, alot of the older members don't offer to RP with new members.
For the most part alot of us just RP with the same people over and over.
So, I was thinking, we should be trying to keep these members instead of losing them.
I have a proposition.
Every month or so, going out of your way to RP with someone new would be a nice gesture.
Thoughts?

This is the problem however, most people just give the lapse of less than one day before getting fed up. If we dont post right away, then they believe we are ignoring them. The truth is, we are different from a lot of sites in the fact we some times take more than a day to respond and if the person has one character, they get pissy even though we have liquid time.
And you'd be surprised, a lot of us do rp with with new members. But as I said, new members very rarely last longer than a week or so. Then it gets difficult because its the same introduction posts over and over again. We make teh gesture and usually the thread lasts no more than two pages and thats the end of it.
Another issue is time zones. SO is very American based, meaning we are usually busiest say around 6:00 pm Central time. A lot of people who live outside the three hour time differences, get annoyed that no one is on when they are, and therefore get frustrated with threads that get posted in once every day or so. Patience is the key and sorry to say a lot of people dont have it.

I was getting ready to say something, but Z said it all for me.

Errr. Yep. I agree with Ave and Z.
I have plenty of patience for newbies. But newbies don't have plenty of patience for me.

Hmmmmmm *slowly strokes the monkey-beard*
I have to admit, I have been a little selective in my choice of rps. That's mostly because my muse is fickle, and I can go long times without posting >.> as most of you know.....and some of the new people don't really like that.....
But....
I has an idea <.<
Monkey-man awaaaaaaaaaay! *jumps into the air and disappears with a cloud of ninja smoke*

At the current moment i sort of am just rping with people i'm familiar with...but a lot of that was due to the fact that i was trying to adjust back into shinkou after being away for so long. Now as it stands i haven't responded to like...anyone x.x; my muse has flown out the window and i'm having a hard time trying to rp much of anything.
HOWEVER, once said muse does return i shall probably look into picking up something with someone new or the like -shrug- i'm always open for new things and such what. My problem is though that a lot of times i have too MUCH going on and too MANY rps going on that i can't keep track of everything x.x; Giving the way that i rp it's sometimes very hard to switch between a new character that i'm just getting a feel for than that of a seasoned one that i know and can pull something out of my butt for xP
everything else i think i might need to say Z's sorta said it all for me xD

Yeah I can't really say anything that's already been said. I do put the effort in, but sometimes, as Z said, the newbie is too impatient or they're unwilling to branch out, and it's just me and this person in some thread. Which is fine, but the point of them joining this site is to rp with multiple people...when I'm the only one, I feel obligated, like I'm the only reason they're here. So if they want to stick around they should put themselves out there a little more. Especially with Liquid Time, they can rp in as many places as they want, so there's no reason why they shouldn't put a little extra effort in making themselves known.
THAT SAID, I think that the best thing right now is the new Roleplay Discussion board. It's like a self-advertisement thing; anyone who wants roleplay can post something there, like their character or a plot idea, and then hopefully someone will respond. People can get to know each other that way and they will grow more comfortable in rping with a variety of other users here (that's the hope, anyway).
So if you're a newbie (to this site, not necessarily to roleplaying), I highly suggest you utilize this new board. It will make your time here a lot easier. Don't get discouraged if no one replies to your intro post after a few days. Keep trying, put yourself out there (via cbox or the Roleplay Discussion board), and most likely, someone will find you...or you'll find someone. =)

I agree with everything said, but I do think this is a really good idea. Especially for those of us who are less advanced. I'm not saying only RP with people at your level, but I've seen the posts Ave and Blitzy and others make that are incredible and those can be intimidating to new-comers. So I'm going to give a hand with this, because my RP skills are significantly less than a lot of other people on here. I think I do very well, but none of my posts are particularly breath-taking.
Anyway, I'm going to pitch in with this. Good idea, bro.

Hey Kiku, when your muse comes tapping around again and you feel like you're involved in way too many rps to keep track of, my new thread in the Roleplay Discussions 'Everyone's Personal Roleplay Guide' might help a little if you wanted to post your own stuff there... you'll get what I mean if you've read it... just a suggesstion.
