I have read through the explanation of magic and how it all happens. But I do have some questions regarding the spirits born from Mizu Lake.
- After a spirit has bonded with a soul, can it be unbonded, or rather, torn from the soul?
- Do Spirits have personalities regarding their elements? I realize they are sentient beings, but can a Fire Element be mischievous and hot-tempered? Or a Psychic Element quiet and mysterious?
- How are Spirits born from Mizu Lake?
- What is the extent of a Spirit's powers when they are not bonded to a soul? Are some stronger than others?
- Can a Spirit be persuaded to doing evil deeds?
- How does a Spirit die if not many can see them?

I'll answer your questions in the same order that you asked them. :3
1) Certainly. A spirit can sometimes choose to unbond or if someone has the ability to do so, can even force someone's spirit to be torn from the soul. Frankly I imagine it would be quite painful. It has happened before though.
2) Spirits are like any other creature, they can develop their own unique and individual personalities depending on themselves, others around them or their environment, etc.
3) Magic! Actually, Shinkouians suspect that Mizu is simply the location of a portal that leads to some other plane of existence where the spirits are created. But when it comes time for spirits to exit Mizu, the way they arrive really looks as though they are literally being born from Mizu's waters. So hence the myths of Mizu lake.
4) It can depend on the spirit's age. Frankly newborns can't do anything, while older spirits can use fairly decent magic even away from their own elements. But they can inevitably perform small spells, within close range of themselves. Some spirits can be stronger than another. For example, Water is highly effective against fire.
5) Definitely. Spirits really don't have an understanding of good or evil. To a point, most spirits begin with a neutral standing and are influenced by their environment. Though dark spirits are usually born from the influence of negativity, thus there's a chance that some spirits are born more cynical than others.
6) Spirits simply cease to be if they die. They're basically pure forms of energy and once the energy is gone, so is the spirit. They can die by many other means than simply being able to be seen by living creatures. Darker spirits, for example, can 'kill' other spirits if they so wish to.
