I don't really have any other place to put this at the moment, so I'm putting this here so I can organize crap.

This board is about Druins' way of writing, and just their language in general.

-Druin Vowels-

Vowels are generally the same as Common--it depends upon the structure of the words. These vowels are generally pronounced as thus:

• a - Pronounced as "ah"
  
  
• e - Prounounced as "eh". Example: The Druin word for "Doom" is "Meep", which would be pronounced as "Mee-ép."
  
  
• i - Pronounced as "ee"
  
  
• o - Prounounced as "oo"
  
  
• u - Pronounced as "ewe"
  
  
• y - Prounced as "ee-eh". Example: The Druin word for "I" is "Y", which would be said as "Ee-eh". Also, the word for "will" is "vyll", which would be pronounced as "veéll."

xD I copy/pasted the words and painstakingly put them together to form a kind of script.

IT WAS NOT EASY!!! T_T

But oh it was fun... I'd love to make scripts/languages for other species. >.> The script part is hard...

Well if you want to draw your font on paper or something, I can incorporate that as actual text :3 I use MS Paint to do all that. The only thing is... I don't know HOW to incorporate the made-up fonts as actual computer text--you know, the text that you can download and type with on Word and what have you. <.<;

Edit: How I made my font was sort of easy. At first I used MS Paint, and used the A tool and made the A through Z text. Then, next to the A, I used the Magnifier tool (8) and started to draw my made-up text. When you Magnify back to 1, you'll start seeing your pretty text! And keep doing that until you reach Z.

How I made the actual script... as in, words and stuff, I copy and paste the letters, because there is no way for me to incorporate the letters as actual computer font, like I said. Then I use the Magnifier tool again and piece the letters together. This is the longest process but it works, and it's fun if you enjoy this sort of thing. >.>

Just because I must... I think there is a software you can use to actually make your own font. I think you can download it. I'm not sure of any other particular details though <.< You'd think with modern technology this sort of stuff would be WAY easier o.0

Oh and for the record... YOU ROCK AVE =D Cause the font is just GORGEOUS XD

There's FontForge and DoubleClick, but unfortunately both are outline font editors, which require the fonts to be vector. Perhaps you can design these in somehting like Inkscape using paths? That would make it easier to create a font out of this, and on top of that it will be able to be scaled!

EDIT: For anyone who cares, here are the extracted runes (one rune per file), on a transparent background. smartboyssite.net/files/Druin%20Runes.tar.gz If you're on windows, use a program like 7-zip to extract it.

Err... you remember that Al Bhed translator from Final Fantasy? There's a few online and I got the code for the actual translator, and... oh gosh it's hard to explain x.x Well it's not like they had the code up for grabs, I had to nick the code from View > Page Source. >.>;
