Kin opened her eyes. Awaking with a terrible start. Her blood was cold, and she shook herself to try to shake away the memories. Jumping up and stretching her legs.
It didn't work and she looked up at Acala. "Strange, I thought you might have left after a while. We have been her a while now." She looked up at the sky, the night still strong. Few stars showing, for the clouds were large and ominous. "How long do you plan on staying?" Kin asked Acala.

Acala turned to look at the she-wolf as she stirred from her sleep. She seemed to be shaking something off...a memory perhaps? Whatever the reason, she was quick to recover, and quick to speak. Her tree friend went quiet again-almost expectantly-as Acala thought of her answer. "When one is as old as I, time begins to mean less than it used too."
Her right wing twitched a bit. A left over reaction that she had not out grown from youth. Whenever a storm approached, she would have sought cover. In this age, though, she rather enjoyed the furious tempests that rage every now and then.
"I will stay until I feel it is fit to leave." She answered the inquiring wolf. She was not likely to seek shelter for a while with this storm, but the little one would do well to find a safe place. This storm could be bad.

Kin's fur tensed, she could sense the change in the air... the electric feel of it, grew. She growled as she gazed at the clouds above, growing at a freighting rate.
Kin looked around and saw a small ridge to the west of her. She looked at Acala and bid her far well. Running swiftly as a few rain drops fell to earth. Kin made it to the ridge. She looked around it, and found a small hole in the side.
She investigated it, more rain starting to fall. "Darn it!" She said angrily, for it she was to go in, she surely would drown after a few minutes with this rain fall.

The weather obviously agitated the little wolf. She said her farewell as she fled to a small rock outcrop. As the wolf sped away, Acala dipped her head. It was her version of a silent parting.
As she lifted her great head, she felt the first of the sweet crystalline drops fall upon the floating island. She closed her eyes, focusing on the feeling of each drop that made contact with her face, wings, and hide. Had she wanted to, she could easily freeze every drop before it touched her. There was no reason to, however. She enjoyed the cold water upon her iridescent scales. I reminded her of better times...
Her enjoyment of the somewhat sudden down pour was cut short by the voice of Kin. 'Darn it!' Acala assumed the shelter the femme had left too was inadequate. The dragon opened her eyes, quickly locking on to the shape of the little wolfess. She watched to see what she would do. The rain was not falling with any sort of vigor yet, but within the hour, it would pick up and worsen.

Kin growled with frustration, and then looked around, the rain wasn't to hard, and she could see plenty around her. Putting her mind into one goal she began searching again. Holes were all over the rock, but none high enough, deep enough or wide enough. She was winding up the side of the ridge. Sniffing almost every second. The rain darkened her pelt and blurred her eyes.
Kin looked up and her eyes grew wide, a pool of water had collected on the top of the ridge, and was now overflowing. "CRAP!" She yelled and turned around, running down the ridge, the water flowing fast and viscously. It trailed her paw steps, making her move with fear and fear only. Water flowed over the stone ahead, and came down. Blocking her path, and giving her less time to get away.
Kin jumped up and her claws dug into the softer stone, her back was soaked in water that splashed up the ridge. The rain heavy but nothing compared to the raging water below. "HERE GOES NOTHING!" Kin cried out, paws slipping, eyes darting, she took a large breath. Summoning all the strength left and leaps forward, the water rushing below her, and the rain pouring. Wind blew, ripping the trees, swirling the water...

It was a strange dance the little wolf performed. Acala watched with curiosity as she moved about franticly. The water didn't seem that bad to her. 'This is a meadow after all' she thought to herself.
Regardless of her thoughts, little Kin seemed to be having some trouble. The little female looked and looked but to no avail. Acala began to wonder what exactly she was looking for by means of shelter.
'Shouldn't you help?'
Her tree friend had spoken for the first time in a while. Acala guess the thirst quenching rain had roused the plants of the area. Acala looked over at the tree, then back to Kin. "She seems to be in need of help I suppose."
With the slowness of the tired and elderly dragon she was, she stood up and spread her wings. For the moments when her wings were out to their full width, there was fifteen feet of dry ground on either side of her.
She looked back over to where Kin was darting around, and just as she was about to called to her, the little wolf jumped.
