Zen followed Misae step by step as she led them through the forest. His eyes looking around at the surroundings constantly as he familiarized himself with them and the direction. Just being with her again brought a smile to his face, although hidden by his clothing. But even in the happiness of her company again, he couldn't help in the back of his mind keep thinking about how he had hurt her before. The pain and sorrow she must have felt at his sudden disappearance. With a small sigh he went to take another step forward but realized Misae had stopped in her tracks, so he pulled his foot back to where it was before. It was when he caught that small scent his back slouched a bit and his head slumped down. You have GOT to be kidding me... Then the voice came. It was his, no doubt about it. Zen looked over just as Misae seemed to be defending him. He looked at her and gently grabbed her hand with his own, holding on to it and slowly sliding it down to their sides, his eyes clearly showed what he spoke in silence. It's alright. Looking back to him he heard his voice again. "Hello ya overgrown lizard, handsy as ever eh? Why don't you just take your claws off the girl?" he simply gave another hidden smile as he replied to Assyrian. "Oh I'm sorry! You must forgive me! I thought you were just some random little child at first stooping to the name-calling and all."
Zen let out a quiet laugh that would still likely be audible enough for Assyrian to hear. "It's nice to see you again too Assyrian. But enough of the pleasantries. I know you're probably just as mad as Misae was when she first saw me again. Though I doubt you could be equally as mad, I know you're still furious being so close to her. You may not want to believe it since you never really liked me to begin with but hurting Misae emotionally, physically or otherwise is something I would NEVER want to do. At the time I felt that I had no choice but to leave without notice. And only upon meeting Misae again did I realize how big of a mistake it was to do so. Even before I left I didn't want to come between you and Misae. And I still don't. If you can forgive me as she has and attempt to get along with me, just as I'm willing to try and get along with you, I'd like to see if becoming friends is possible so me being with her isn't so bad for any of us." He paused for a little to let his words try and sink into his head before continuing.
"You must think carefully though. You can't let your emotions towards me cloud your judgement. If you choose NOT to try and decide to keep your distaste and resentment towards me, who are you REALLY hurting? Me? Yourself? Or perhaps Misae when you force her to choose between the two of us because you can't stand being around me?" Zen's tone had suddenly changed from more of a light underlying playful tone, to being dead serious and his eyes showed he meant every single word of what he was saying in his last few sentences. "If you choose to fight me, then once again, who are you really hurting? Me? Yourself? Or Misae as you force her to watch two people she cares most for try to kill each other, her best friend and the one she loves? Every action you make towards me out of hate, jealousy, or whatever else doesn't just affect me alone you know, but everyone else around you that you care for. If you don't believe me, then ask her yourself if it's true. I'm leaving you with two options really. Fight me or try to get along with me. But for your sake and more importantly Misae's, by the gods you better think it over long and hard. Not only will you have to live with the consequences, she will too. More so than you." His tone lifted a bit as it became lighter once more but his eyes showed he was still being serious. "Who knows? Once you actually take the time to get to know me, you might actually like me and want me around. Do you think Misae liked me the very first moment she saw me inside that inn? No, she actually wanted to kill me if you didn't know that already. She had to get to know me a bit before she started to love me. And getting to know me is something you have yet to even THINK about doing am I correct?" Zen stood there, still holding Misae's hand as he awaited the reply from Assyrian and to see how Misae herself would react to him.

Assyrian frowned at Zenithe's comment, a low growl rumbling in his throat. "Peace, love. We're here for a reason..." Della reminded gently, nudging her small nose into her soulmate's cheek. The man sighed, his eyes boring into Misae's through Zenithe's entire speech, the words heard but pointedly ignored. Finally, the words ended. Assyrian groaned and rolled his gaze onto the other man, boredom in his voice as he then spoke. "As touching as I'm sure you find your words, and as much as I would enjoy ending your life here and now no matter the effects they would have on Misae, I don't have the time today." The dragoness shifted then, her eyes turning to her friend's with curiosity. "What do you mean Assyrian...? Why don't you have the time...?" The man turned back to her then, his eyes dark and filled with regret. He hadn't simply been wandering around, he had been searching for Misae. But not of his own wishes. Assyrian sighed, apology already in this small sound. This task wasn't something he could push aside, no matter how badly he wanted it to be so...[/sub]
Something was wrong, something more than Assyrian's mere presence there. She could feel it in the air, the tension in his gaze which went beyond simple irritation. Misae searched the man's eyes for any sign of this strange notion, thinking it to surely be a simply misunderstanding. But as Zenithe continued speaking of her relationship with both of them, and how they should at least try to get along for her sake, the feeling didn't ease and the dragoness was left more shaken that before. Then it was Assyrian's turn to speak, and her fears were confirmed. He had been sent here, but she refused to comprehend what she already knew, instead asking why he had hunted her down.
Assyrian's hesitation should have said it all; the way his brow furrowed in an almost painful expression, the way his eyes wouldn't quite meet hers anymore, the way his jaw clenched. Yes, something was very wrong, but still Misae refused to see what was right before her eyes. "Sae..." The man she had leaned on for almost half her life, the man she knew inside and out, suddenly stiffened. Holding his head up in a soldier-like manner, and face hardened into an unreadable mask. "The Lord Draconai requests your presence at Castle Draconai as soon as possible." So that was it, he was back then and they would all be killed. Her foster father would play with them a bit, twisting their minds and trying the relationships they shared until finally they would all be put out of their misery... No... I won't let him! Misae thought defiantly, her hand tightening considerably around Zenithe's.
Her chin raised a bit, and her eyes took on a stony appearance. "Lord Draconai, eh?" The dragoness growled angrily, irritated by her father's rudeness. "Fine, I will return, but this time I am keeping my sword..." Assyrian grinned ruefully, nodding his head. Misae turned back to Zenithe, an apologetic look on her angular visage. "It would seem that you are about to meet your parent's old business partner again..." She said softly, the words making the fact so much more real. He was back, her father was back. Tiberius Draconai had finally returned...[/sub]

Why am I not surprised... Assyrian hadn't changed a single bit since he had last seen him. And Zen hadn't really expected him to in all honesty, but given what he had done, he was actually quite shocked how reserved he was. But only after mentioning the lack of time did Zen's attention really get grabbed. Why..? Misae's emotions. He could feel it. She was tense and he turned his head slightly so his eyes could see her. And when the name "Lord Draconai" came up, his ears perked and his eyes widened a bit. That man... every time he had come over to his house when he was a child to meet with his father, he always appeared to be such a serious man and never smiled once. He could never figure out what or how he felt and rarely if ever, wanted to be around him even when given the chance. Although sometimes he was forced to stay in the room with his parents and him as his father had hoped him to grow up and take over his position. All those memories had passed through his mind before Misae's words brought him back to reality. "It would seem that you are about to meet your parent's old business partner again..." Here he was, about to meet him again, many years later. With himself and his daughter in love no less. This.... is going to be... interesting...
Zen stood there just looking at Misae with his eyes staring directly at hers. "I wonder what your father will say when he sees me...." His eyes squinted a bit as if in deep thought. "I know my father and him were very close partners together and he's seen me many times before so I'm sure he'll recognize me. But for him to see me with you.... I have no idea what will happen. But in any case I want to meet him with you." It wasn't until just now he noticed How strong Misae's grip was on his hand. His own grip tightening with his words as he smiled with his eyes. With a small sigh he spoke again, just. "I suppose we should head toward your home instead of that cave huh? With it being night-fall and a new moon I can move faster than any horse with the shadows. I know the way and I can get us there within a minute, two at most if I can't concentrate, so we can do this before Assyrian gets back there if you'd like. And he can take your horse." His voice was merely a whisper in her ear while he spoke.

She had that look in her eye, that haunted ghostly look she was left with the last time she saw her mentor. Assyrian knew their relationship, knew the strangeness of it as well as the dangers it held. They were like fire and ice, they simply weren't compatible. One second they were all chocolate and roses the next the whole world hung in the balance of their disagreement. It was horrifying and even worse, he could do nothing to interfere.
The man's eyes glanced over Zenithe for a moment as he whispered in Misae's ear, the words too low for him to hear. But it wasn't the words he was worried about, it was the man himself. Zenithe loved that dragoness, Assyrian could tell simply by the way he seemed to gravitate toward the woman as if she were his entire world, but it was that love which could spell death for both of them.
I cannot go without Assyrian... Misae told herself as Zen spoke. If she arrive before Assyrian did, Tiberius wouldn't hesitate to strike. It was a instinctual fear, something that couldn't be explained in normal terms. It was something that went back to her childhood, that came from the cold detachmet of his gaze, the cruelty in his heart and the merciless sneer of a killer. Misae gave a shudder. "No..." She said, shaking her head and closing her eyes a hand rose to her temple. "No I cannot be there without Assyrian. I... I cannot..." Her voice cracked and she suddenly felt unable to breathe. How could her own father effect her this way? How could she be so frightened of the one who had raised her?
He had never struck her, never even frowned at her. The man had simply....regaurded her. Perhaps that's what it was, the frigid numbness with which he watched her. No anger, kindness, sadness, or even fear had ever touched his gaze. Simply those cool, uncarring eyes. Misae couldn't handle it, couldn't handle knowing that he couldn't care less if she were dead or living well as a millionare. It was that factor which she couldn't deal with. She didn't understand how one could look at her without feeling...anything. And it was that insecurity which manifested into the complete and utter fear which plagued her being at the mere thought of Tiberius Draconai. "I know you are anxious to see him again, you must be after all you are in love with his adopted daughter... But I cannot arrive without Assyrian there as well. I just...." She wrenched free of Zenithe's grasp and stepped away a few feet, her hands holding her head and eyes still closed. She needed to breathe, needed to get her hold back on the situation and just calm down. Her father was waiting for her. He was patiently waiting but it wouldn't last long. How much time had already been wasted in the time it took for Assyrian to find her? Violet gems finally opened and she looked up at her friend, the man closest to her. "Assyrian...?" The shifter smiled reassuringly. "You're going to be alright, Sae. I'll be right there with you and so will he. You're going to be just fine, I promise." Misae took a deep breath, straitening as her arms fell to dangle at her sides. Within seconds, she had visibly changed from a timid child to the steely eyed huntress she was.
"Zenithe, I would ask you to first take the horses to my estates if you are capable of the task. Then Assyrian and finally myself." She turned then, head held high as her fiery gaze fell upon her love. But beneath those flames burned something else, a need for him to accept her following apology and understand that she did this out of necessity. "I apologize for the strain my request must put on you but upon arrival you may retire to my chambers for a rest if need. There is no need for you to immediately meet my father... No need at all..." Misae fell silent then. She was out of line, asking too much of zen, but she could only hope he would understand why she asked this of him. While he may hold her heart, that monster held her soul.

Zenithe stood in silence, patiently waiting for Misae as she stepped away a few steps after having said she can't go without Assyrian. He simply gave a small nod of his head in acknowledgment showing he understood. Tiberius.... I never liked that man but I respect his power and influence... I can only hope he will see me with indifference at the least considering how close he was to my parents... He had zoned out for a moment before Assyrians voice brought him back. You're going to be alright, Sae. I'll be right there with you and so will he. You're going to be just fine, I promise. Zen's eyes widened a bit as he stared dumbfounded at Assyrian. Well I'll be damned.... HE of all people actually acknowledged me going to be there with her and not just saying himself? Maybe there's hope for him after all deep down...
Looking back over to Misae he noticed she had regained her composure. Back to that which the woman he loved always held before. Zenithe, I would ask you to first take the horses to my estates if you are capable of the task. Then Assyrian and finally myself. Hearing her request he looked down for a moment as he thought about the size of the horses and the distance he had to travel. Looking up once more he found her eyes looking right at him as she spoke again. I apologize for the strain my request must put on you but upon arrival you may retire to my chambers for a rest if need. There is no need for you to immediately meet my father... No need at all... He gave a smile to her only visible by the slight wrinkling around his eyes. "You and Assyrian won't be a problem to take back. The horses however might take a bit out of me but nothing to the point of exhaustion or making me really tired. It will be a bit slower too. Maybe four or five minutes to get them up there." He stepped over to Misae, pulling his cloak down just enough to reveal his mouth as he gave her a small kiss on the cheek. "I'll be back in a few to pick you guys up." He walked over to where he could hear the horses standing around, untying Misae's horse first and leading it over to Assyrians, doing the same. Holding on to both the reins he gave a small sigh. This will be a bit of a workout... With a deep breath he leaned forward and, with a moderately loud thudding sound, the two horses and himself disappeared leaving behind a fading black smoke which had been in the shape of their figures.
It took quite a bit of concentration to hold the horses together so as to not accidentally leave a part of either of them behind in the shadows. The last thing he would need right now is to emerge at the estate with a horse missing a leg or two... maybe three. Scenery seemed to blur past them at rapid speeds. People, buildings, trees and animals alike. He wanted it to be over with since it was much more difficult to transport two large animals together than it was two people. Drawing close he held his breath as he felt the air being sucked out from around him during the emergence to the light from the shadow. A small pop and he breathed again as he looked around to find himself right outside the stables at her estate. Hm.Guess my aim is better than I thought. As he took the horses into the stables he took several deep breaths, regaining himself after having brought the horses back. After placing them safely inside where he saw them before, he exited the stables and leaned forward once more. Here we go again...
Another semi-loud thud and another fading black smoke left behind as he sped back through the shadows to Misae and Assyrian. He smiled to himself as he sped back knowing that Misae was there for him again. And he was never again going to ruin that fact. It only took about two minutes to get back rather than the five it did to go to the estate. Wonder what they talked about while I was gone? He shrugged to himself as he started to feel the air get sucked out again. Holding his breath once more as he emerged right where he had been standing just a few feet away from Misae. He breathed in the fresh air and smiled. "You two are up now. Shall we all three go together then?" Zenithe paused as he looked at the shifter that usually seemed to stick to Assyrian like glue. He chuckled a bit and corrected himself. "Excuse me. The four of us."

"You had no right to come here..." Misae said softly when Zenithe had disappeared. Assyrian started a bit at having been addressed, his reply taking a few seconds in coming. "I didn't exactly have a choice, you know how he is. What he does..." He let the sentence drop, neither of them needed to be reminded of what waited for them back at the estates. Least of all Misae. "Still... You could have at least taken longer..." She replied, looking up at the man with a pleading look. "Why now Assyrian? Why after so long, why now?" The shifter could only shrug and shake his head apologetically, a sad look coming to his worn face. "I don't know Sae.. I really don't know..."
Silence had come over them, silence which was both welcomed and hated by the goddess like creature. How would she face her adopted father after so long? How would she be able to resist his aura, his eyes, his...well, everything? Every small thing about him drew her in, placed her under his spell. Tiberius Draconai. The man who had raised her, manipulated her, and then thrown her away as if she were nothing. Now he returned, but why? What did he want that he couldn't have gained before? What had she gained recently that he wanted?
"You two are up now. Shall we all three go together then?" Misae jumped at Zenithe's sudden voice, not expecting the silence to be broke so abruptly. Even Assyrian reached for the sword at his hip. Zenithe... What he had said was forgotten, that he had spoken at all was forgotten. The only thing that mattered, that could matter, was the horrifying realization she had come to. It all made sense now. That thing she hadn't had before, but she did now, it was him. Her father wanted Zenithe, but why? As a way back in with his parents? When Zen spoke of the deals Tiberius used to make with his parents, it never seemed as if they had been continued as of late. Maybe by getting on good with their son, Misae's father would be able to worm his way back into relations with the parents. But that didn't make sense either, why would he take such a round about way? It just didn't add up...
"Yes, we're ready to go." Assyrian's voice jerked the dragoness back into the present, his hand under her elbow as he steered her closer to Zen a strong reminder of where she was. "Um, right, yes... Yes, we're ready..." She said, violet eyes searching her love's face for any sign of knowledge. Maybe he would have some idea of what was going on.
"What can we do?" Assyrian asked his soulmate softly as he gently escorted Misae in Zenithe's direction. The small ferret poked her head out from beneath the man's cloak, surveying the scene with quickly awakening eyes. "There is nothing we can do, love. We can only sit back and watch, and hope that this turns out alright..." Della replied softly, nuzzling back into the shadowed safety of Assyrian's heaving riding cloak.[/sub]

Zen watched as Assyrian and Misae stepped closer. His mind raced with many thoughts every few seconds. Most of which about whom he was going to meet once again face to face. Tiberius.... Why of all times would you come back now? Your dealings were with my parents... not me. They even left their business to you in the event of their d-.... Zenithe froze for a few moments looking into Misae's eyes. His own showing he was fully aware of what was going on. My parents died years ago... and they may have left it to him... but he needs permission from a direct descendant to assume control and take over. He needs MY permission... my signature... he probably just found out recently they're dead... He let out a sigh as he reached out to take Misae's hand and place his other on Assyrian's shoulder. He leaned over to whisper in Misae's ear. "I know what he wants... I have something he needs... something that's VERY important to him. I can get you any ONE thing you want in exchange for what he needs from me. Think wisely during the trip and let me know before we see him." Leaning back and looking between Assyrian and Misae he smiled and decided to warn them before hand. "Fair warning... as we start to emerge from the shadow you'll feel the air getting sucked out from around you. I really do highly recommend you take a deep breath and hold it, keeping your mouth shut.... otherwise you might end up with your lungs imploding from the air being sucked out of them forcefully as well. Not very fun and excruciatingly painful, but not permanent or deadly."
Zen let his body lean backwards as shadows began to envelope all of them and with a small pop, everything went dark and scenery seemed blur past them with a blue trail. Even with all the thoughts crossing in his mind he seemed to be able concentrate perfectly fine on what he was doing as to not end up throwing them to the wrong place or accidentally leaving behind a part of their forms. Soon enough after just a minute or two he felt it... the air being pulled away and he hoped they would take his advice. And there again after just another ten seconds or so a loud crack rang in the air and he found himself, Misae and Assyrian with his little shifter all in tact at the front door to the estate. His gaze turned to Misae as he awaited to see if she had thought of any one thing she would want more than anything, whatever it may be.

Misae noded at Zen's orders to her, she would think of something... Already an outline to her want was in her mind, the gears turning and churning as she tried to form the thought into words. She had to keep Zenithe safe. If his prediction was accurate then there would be nothing stopping her father from sending Zen toward an untimely demise once the business was safe in his claws. I need to be quick, and think of everything in one swoop...
Zenithe moved between them then, his arm locking around Misae and she could only assume he did the same to Assyrian. Oh what she wouldn't give to see the look on his face at the contact; a smug grin curled her lips. "Fair warning... as we start to emerge from the shadow you'll feel the air getting sucked out from around you..." The dragoness blinked and looked up at the hooded man beside her. He wasn't serious was he? She vaguely knew Assyrian was grabbing Della, holding onto her with a vice grip to make sure she didn't somehow become separated from the group. But that wasn't important right now. What did he mean her lungs would implode? 'Couldn't we just fly there instead...?' The words wouldn't slip off her tongue, she was already getting sucked into the darkness. It was all she could do to gulp in a lungfull of air before it was too late.
"Remind me never to do this again..." Assyrian thought to his soulmate. Della didn't have to ask what he meant, she could feel his nausea through their link and unfortunately more than knowledge passed between them. As they flew through the shadows, a sickening, twisting feeling in the stomachs left them both wanting to hurl. Finally, it ended and they had arrived at Misae's estates. The shifter yanked away from Zenithe and tried to head for the castle, he wanted his bed and a cool glass of water. Too bad he wouldn't get them. A few reeling steps away found him lying on the ground with the world spinning around him and everything he had eaten in the past 48 hours threatening to pass in a not so tasty concoction back through his mouth. "Oh gods.... I am not doing that again!" He growled, shoving himself onto his hands and knees before finding his feet again.
Della, while suffering a similar feeling, was much more in control of her body and was lounging a few feet away in the form of a clouded leopard. "Oh stop that. You are acting like a child..." The creature chastised with not shortage of annoyance or irritation. "Hey, you're not the one with your lunch riding in your throat right now!" Assyrian countered though he tried to obey, not wanting to make a bigger fool of himself.
"Assyrian." The man in question looked up instantly at his charge's voice, amazed and surprised by the change she had undergone in the few short seconds they had been there. At times like these, he wondered if a dragon was all she was...
He knew of their arrival. The dragoness could see him in her mind's eye practically floating down the stairs. He was happy, and that confused her. That confusion put her on guard. Something was wrong here. It is a trap... Yes, common knowledge the moment they stepped on the grounds. But for who...?" Assyrian looked up when she addressed him, but Misae knew better than to take her eyes away from the castle for even a split second. It was her concentration which could spell life or death for them right now. The woman had to control her aura, letting out enough of her essence so as not to seem threatening, but not to seem weak at the same time. A tricky thing when dealing with a man like her father, whose moods swung back and forth seconds from each other.
"He is in the ball room, waiting. You must enter before us, play the part. Put him in a better mood." Misae felt Assyrian cringe at her words, he knew what she wanted and he hated playing the servant. Still, not even his pride would stand up against Tiberius. "Sae-" "I know!" She snapped, violet flames flashing toward him for a brief moment before refocusing on the house. It was less than second, but even that small lapse in concentration had left them vulnerable to the effects of her father. Assyrian winced at the pure power the aura held, even Misae was influenced by it. If Tiberius's essence effected Zenithe, he would feel an immense weight crashing upon his mind - an ancient power trying to claw its way into his consciousness. It was all the dragoness could do to shield her small party from the painful experience.
"Go.." Assyrian sighed and nodded, giving a grimace of a smile before striding toward the castle. "Come." Misae said softly to Zenithe, pulling on his arm to get him to follow as she herself trailed after her guard and his soulmate. Within seconds they would arrive at a grand door of some sort of wood, carved with intricate designs of dragons twisting in and out of one another. The ball room. Tiberius was just through that door... "We'll be fine.." Assyrian promised, planting a soft kiss upon Misae's brow before opening one of the large doors and slipping inside with Della at his heels. There came a low thud as the heavy wood closed behind him.
She was worried for her friend sure, but there were other more important matters at hand. "Let me do most of the talking, only speak when he directly addresses you and say as little as you have to. Trust me, a prolonged discussion with him is far from desirable. Hopefully, Assyrian will prepare him for your arrival - although I am sure he already knows of your presence.. Just..." The female turned to him and offered a small smile of reassurance, squeezing his hand gently. "You'll be fine, just... Try not to look him in the eye unless you absolutely have to."[/sub]

After standing at the entrance for a few moments Zen turned his gaze to Assyrian before quietly chuckling to himself so he couldn't hear. He kind of ignored the conversation between her and Assyrian but her quick snap grabbed his attention. That and the presence he felt for a moment. A small devious grin came across Zen's face. Oh yeah... that's you alright Tiberius. That's an aura I'll never forget. Take what you will from my parents company I have no interest in it. But I WILL get something in return. And you won't lay even a finger on me. We both know all to well why you won't either. The day you threatened me in front of my father was the one day you messed with the wrong man... His thoughts soon interrupted when he found Misae asking him to come and pulling on his arm a bit. So he followed her until they arrived at a rather large door. At which he could feel who was on the other side. Let me do most of the talking, only speak when he directly addresses you and say as little as you have to. Trust me, a prolonged discussion with him is far from desirable. Hopefully, Assyrian will prepare him for your arrival - although I am sure he already knows of your presence.. Just... He smiled at her as he held her hand, noticing she squeezed his gently as she told him not to look him in the eyes. After she had finished speaking, he pulled his cloak down to show his face and he was just smiling.
He took Misae's other hand into his and looked into her eyes with his. "I'm not sure if you've ever heard of it, but there's a very rare, very powerful permanent curse that exists in this world. Only eight people have ever managed to master it and only three have successfully placed it upon someone. It's called Losvir Darastrix. Bane of Dragons. Put simply... it's used as a shield of protection for yourself and others. My father was one of the eight to master and luckily for me, one of the three to place it upon someone. If that dragon with the curse brings harm upon an immediate family member of the one who placed the curse upon them through their intentions or otherwise, the fate that befalls the one harmed is shared with that of the cursed." Zen made sure to keep his voice down as much as possible to avoid being heard in the room right next to them. He kept quiet a moment to make sure nobody had heard anything and let what he was saying sink in with Misae. "Why do you think he hasn't come after me before now? He knows he can't do anything to me and was looking for something to hold against me. Before I didn't have anything he could hold over my head and threaten me with. Until I met you that is. Maybe I should be the one to talk with him instead. He can do whatever he wants with you but with me, he can't do anything. And if he tries to use you against me, the only thing I have to do is step in the way and he'll back off. Thanks to my father I can actually manipulate HIM. If he threatens you, I can threaten myself and in-turn, it's his actions causing me to do it so he knows full well what it means." Zen could hear it was starting to quiet down in the other room so he didn't have much time. He pulles his cloack back up and looked in her eyes. "I need to know now Misae.... what do you want from him?" He kept turning his head to the door making sure it wouldn't open before he heard her request.
