((Forgive me for the long absence. I've been all over the place. ))
Acala looked over the gem with a careful eye. She was not accustomed to examining gems in the raw, but this one in particular carried a vibrancy. It would be a lovely center piece, she was sure, once it was set. She did not doubt that this young dragon before her had already buzzed with ideas.
When he asked her opinion, she could tell he wanted to know something more than her thoughts on it, but what exactly she was unsure of. She gave the gem another careful look before she answered. "It is a good gem. perhaps a...gold setting of some kind. A large pendant, or multiple smaller ones perhaps." At that point she half shrugged. She was not a jeweler. She could only guess based upon what she has already seen in her long lifetime.

((Ah, it is okay. I know how busy things can get, and even human fallibility can fall into play. I had been planning on posting quite a bit yesterday, but instead I slept. It had been a very busy day.))
Niphanos looks at her as he thinks about what she suggested. After a moment, he says, "Hmm, yes. Gold compliments the red's warm tone and makes it seem like fire. It was for this reason that I was thinking of it, myself. It could be like hot coals in the center of a flame-themed wirework, or an abstract design on a more solid surface." He shrugs and places the gem in a leather pouch strapped to his right thigh. "In fact," he continues, "the possibilities are nearly limitless. That is the beauty of crafting." Saying that, he thinks, Oh, the audacity to say that to one so wise as she. He tucks his chin into his neck in embarrassment, "Oh, no doubt you knew that, though..."

She chuckled a little at the younger dragons coy display. "I may be old, and I may know much, but I do not know everything." was all she said. She believed the raw stone would become something beautiful soon enough.
For some reason, the old dragons face changed slightly. She looked almost reminiscent now. Tell me, young one, how far have you gone in search of jewels?" How long have you searched?" She wasn't even entirely sure why her mood had so suddenly shifted, but she had long ago learned to move with it and let it happen.

Niphanos looks at her in mild surprise when she asks that question. He was not expecting anything like that. "I have traveled many places, though in most of those it was to find mentors. I have traveled far past these lands of Shinkou, and I'm fairly certain I have even been to other worlds entirely. I have found many wondrous gems in many amazing places, but my home is here, among the wolves. Why do you ask, if I may be so impertinent?" As he speaks, he fidgets with one of his various adornments, this time one mounted on his chest, almost like a harness, but far more elegant. After he is done, though, he gives her a quizzical look, with one draconic eyebrow cocked.

She listened intently, but her gaze drifted past the smoke and soot the drifted in the air around them. He was a well traveled young one. Better than could be said for some. There were many who never left the safe familiarity of the territory they grew up in. That was a terrible way to live. In the same place for an entire lifetime. Then again, her lifetime had already been far longer than most. Even then, the shorter the life, all the more reason to see things.
Acala thought for a moment before she answered. "So you have seen much on your travels I take it?"The question was more to herself than to the one near her. "Forgive me I don't remember if I have asked you yet, but what is your name?" Her mood seemed to be lightening suddenly. Her old grandmotherly side was setting in it seemed.

((Sorry for the slow (and short) response. >_<))
Niphanos looked startled, then said "Oh, yes. I am Niphanos, a Loka dragon of the Azano clan. Actually, I am pretty sure I have introduced myself... Oh, well. Might I inquire as to what your name is?" He was curious what her name was, and he was fairly certain she hadn't said much about herself yet.

Had he introduced himself? She thought perhaps he had. Maybe her memory wasn't what it used to be. She was old. It was hardly surprising for something like that to happen.
Either way, she had been asked her own name. She nodded, her face stoic, and spoke. "My name is Acala." She wasn't sure what else to say, if anything. She had never really been part of a group or clan or anything like that. She was always just Acala.

((Oh, sorry for not posting! D: It appears I forgot it was my turn!))
He looked down in thought. Is there anything else to say? Looking back up to her, he said, "Thank you for giving me your name. I will surely remember it." He raised his head, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath through the nose. Looking, once again, back at Acala, he said, "Do you have any... 'parting advice' for me, before I go on my way?" He was unsure of how, or even if he should continue. Whatever the result, he would work with it. He always did.
