Ea felt her stomach drop and her blood froze like the frigid ground around her. A shadow passed above her and an evil smell descended from it. She looked up with her bi-colored eyes to see a large wolf-near as large as Akuma-circle over head. The look on his face as their eyes met send a lightening shiver down her spine. Her pendant hummed lightly. It was a tune she had only heard once or twice before. A melody of mayhem and disaster. She snapped her head to Akuma. "Hurry Akuma!"
She wasn't sure what he needed to hurry to do, but she knew he needed to be ready. Darklight and the rest of the pack were not there yet. It was just her and him.
He came to a break in the trees, and here he saw two wolves. One white as the snow that surrounded her-if it had not been for the markings on her leg he would not have seen her- and a large wolf with butterfly wings. Esras was not one for subtly, and that being the case, he let his shadow flow like an evil river over the them. It looked like it scared the fur of the female, much to his delight.
He should have thought wether that would disrupt that one wolf's plans, but he didn't care. He was here, and he thought he could cause some trouble. The pained howls of this one and his sadistic laughter would be the sign that he had found them.
He pulled his wing in and free-fell, landing with a distinct thud on the freezing snow, his chains rattling form the impact. His eyes were a mixture of red and black as his thought swirled around how best to mutilate the pair. Then...that scent hit him hard. There was no ignoring it now. He stared hard at the white female. Those markings. The gem. The smell. He knew it. It was her. His lips curled over his fangs and razor sharp teeth.
Fear ran thick in Ea's blood. Evil flowed from this wolf like a think fog. It was smothering. There was something in his eyes that almost seemed like...recognition. She realized she was holding her breath. She took a slow breath. She did not recognize them smell, but that was because she had not been to the site where her family was cut down. Darklight was the one who knew all too well the scent of this monster.
A small sound stopped her in her tracks. Darklight balked and looked around. She say the hunched over form of Koli, one of the newest of the Voyani wolves, looking like he was in pain. She knew she had to get to her sister, but she didn't think it right to like the poor wolf here. She rushed to his side. "Koli! Koli, speak up! What's the matter with you? Hurry, we have to get to Serra Ea and the den."
Darklight nudged at Koli and assisted him onward, all the while trying to talk him back to reality. She prayed it would work and he would come back to his senses. Sh urged him on, as fast as she could get him to go, if he would move at all. She needed to get him to the den, and she needed to be there. Now.

The night was not one welcomed. It was one that made the dark fae's spirits sink. She had been out on her own that night, halfheartedly attempting a hunt under the weight of the blanket of night. Tristesse felt simply dreadful.
Two years of age, she was, and fit as she could be. Her muscles were well developed and rippled under her pelt when she ran. Her wings were extremely large now, their longest feathers fading to a pure white, like the sun and moon markings beneath either of her blue eyes. If one were to fight the huntress, they would realize she was a force to be reckoned with.
The femme had begun the trek to her Serra's den when she heard the howling. It was urgent, apprehensive, and needed addressing then. Tristesse's hackles were full, thick, and standing on end when she took to the sky. It was a dangerous task, taking off from the forest, but she would do it for her alphess.
She wasn't too far. And as she flapped her wings, she realized that there was another winged beast there. A foreigner. An enemy. Tristesse pulled her legs in close to her body and used her wings to propel herself forward with increasing speed. As the flying wolf circled, the huntress snarled, white teeth glinting in the moonlight. She was still too far away.
And then, he landed. The huntress snarled once more. As she drew upon her Serra's location, she tucked her wings into her body. She dove with incredible speed and flared her wings at just the right moment:
She stood with the length of her body between the evil one and her loving alphess. Her face, normally bright and cheerful, was wrinkled in a snarl. She said no words; none were needed. It was obvious that she would fight with everything she had if that's what it called for. OoC: Sorry for the late jump-in. Hope you don't mind the intrusion on posting order. xD.

Midnight did what he wanted without protest, loping off into the night. Arriving, she didn't smell any wolves, and the brush wasn't covering the path. She was thinking that because she didn't know witch one he meant. Probably the last person to notice it, she heard the howling. Jerking up, she listened for it again, then trotted towards the direction of the camp.
~~~~~~~~~
After a while of traveling, she arrived at the camp, and saw the confrontation. She curled her lip in satisfaction. 'Heh, let the demon get ripped apart.' she thought cruelly. She heard the wolves gathering, and knew they were onto the invasion. Silently cursing, she crept back. She didn't know or particularly care if they scented or heard her. Sprinting back to the group, she skidded to a stop in front of all of them. "Sank, *pant pant* their on to us. The pack wolves are...*pant, swallow* gathering. The demon is being confronted by two others."
Flaming eyes burned bright as he ran, hoping to reach his group before their attack began. It seemed Esras would be the first, though San didn't know that quite yet. No, but he caught the glimpses of shadows coming from the bare trees which stood. In truth, he didn't know the layout of the land as well as he would have liked. Otherwise, he would know each tree or other formation which could give him leverage, a shadow to use for his manipulation and control. But no such luck. He didn't trust if he sank into one shadow he would even know where best to choose to come up.
Then it hit him. The dens! Of course, why hadn't it crossed his mind sooner? Surely, there would be something in that area casting a big enough shadow for him to rise from. A rock, a bush, a tree, something. A smirk spread slowly across his lips. Their prey were in for a surprise.
He sprang toward the trees in the near distance, anticipation pumping through him. Not much longer now... closer. Closer. Silenced seemed to fill the air around him, only the sound of the snow's crunch and the dull thud thud thud from his paws. Finally! As his form was enveloped in shadow, it faded, becoming black as the shadow itself until it was gone, no trace left in that particular spot.
Behind Akuma, Ea, Tristesse, and Esras, where the dens lay calm, Kashikoi Kaen's form arose, one of the larger dens casting a dark shadow over the pale snow. It slowly came into being, first nothing but a whisp itself then shape coming and finally color until it was there he stood, eyes glimmering, body ready. He wondered if Ichi would have him attack now to aid Esras, or to wait on the others' arrival. He made his decision quickly. To continue to simply lurk there might lose his chance.
He sprang forward, fangs bared, a loud snarl issuing from his throat. His lips were curled back and he was lowered, circling slightly so Esras could see it was him. Between the both of them, the three pack wolves had only each other.
Akuma responded to Ea's command, moving swiftly so that he stood at her side. The dark form landed, it seemed something was in his eyes toward Ea, recognition of some kind, and also the desire to kill. Akuma would die before he let that happen. He lowered his form slightly, preparing for the battle he knew would come soon. His instincts were coming into play, every part of his being focused. Suddenly, a blur fell from the sky and landed. Tristesse...
She also poised defensively in front of Ea, even challenging this demonic wolf. They were three on one. Perhaps this creature would back off? But no, even with the essence rolling off this guy, he knew there was more to it. The dark feeling in all of them wasn't just from this wolf. There was much more, and he knew it.
As if in confirmation, suddenly a snarl sounded behind them and he looked, seeing the fiery wolf. So, there were three on two now. He still stood even with Ea, though now he faced the flame-patterned one, his own lips curled and eyes glaring. He was not letting anyone come near the Serra, and his own growl was a challenge toward the other to even try.
Kash accepted his task, dashing off after saying a few words, behind him May followed. Ni also accepted making it sound as if taking on an alpha would be as easy as killing a pup; his immortality must have had something to do with it. He couldn't imagine what life would be like if he didn't need to worry about death constantly lurking over his shoulder.
He, of course, had already began sprinting when May joined his side once more, out of breath she warned of a defensive effort being made by the pack. He looked around searching for San expecting him to have made it back with May or be right behind her; but as far as he could tell he was nowhere in sight. It took about a millisecond for Sanka to remember San's power, he didn't know how far he could transport himself using shadows but there surly would be some around the dens.
"Umbra paw." he said activating his power. A dark mist appeared from his paws as he slowly began gaining speed drawing away from the others.
"See YOU later!" he called as he raced past Ni.
When the power fully activated soon after he was speeding to aid the others hundreds of times faster than any normal wolf could. He slowed down when the scent of voyani became overwhelming joining it was the stench of fear, 'they've probably met Esras' he thought. Sure enough there was Esras facing a single winged wolf blocking his path to another wolf, this one white in color. Next to the white fae stood another of the Voyani his back facing Esras, a daring move but well thought out considering that his eyes were met with those of San his pelt flaming as always. Sanka felt late to his own party and realized now that he was here he didn't know exactly where to start. Thankfully he didn't have to, San had already issued his challenge.
It was pretty simple to deduct that the white wolf was the alpha, why else would the winged wolf take a defensive stance in front of her. A rookie mistake made by a young wolf, he felt sorry that her life may end so prematurely, and by the jaws of Esras none the less. It wouldn't be a peaceful ending.
With one in the front and another in the back Sanka walked to his place on the right locking his eyes onto the Alpha and dipping his head in respect as a menacing smile stretched across his face.
"'Ey, 'ey! No fair!", Free called out to the passing Ichi. With everyone else ahead of him, it seemed that Ni would be the last one to get to the pack territory. Scowling to himself and growling, Free kept his quick pace with his copy up until he arrived at the destination. Irritation paralleled his lust for blood and for a good fight.
((I was wondering what a good battle song would be and thought this one would fit very well, especially in Koli's case))
Koli's body felt as if it were on fire, burning his skin from the inside. A fogged voice came to him from behind as he stumbled forward. Steam started to evaporate from his fur and clouds rose from his body. A tense feeling started to creep up his spine and it came to the base of his neck. The darkness was spreading around his body and was trying to take his mind; the last thing it would take before his body was completely submissive to the black reigns.
Darklight was right beside him, urging him onward to where Koli heard the howl before and to where his instincts told him where the darkness was emanating from. She asked what was wrong. "I...I know", he breathed, "Know-know that I...I am on your side and-nd I am the one w-who will rid of...this darkn...", Koli was cut off as a sharp pain shot up into his head. The black blood has taken over his body. He gasped for air and doubled over. Eyes wide open, black veins cracked the white's of his eyes like lightning strikes. His pupils constricted greatly. The steam began to shoot from his body as if were under pressure and Koli stood up slowly. Looking back at Darklight, a shadowed and insane expression covered his face. A toothy grin spread across his muzzle as his head twisted on his neck to an impossible position for a normal wolf, eyes void of sanity. "Blood will be pouring, staining the white snow...Hope you're thirsty", the words slid out of his mouth like molten lead. Neck popping back into place, his tongue slurped at his lips before darting off.
Free slid as he stopped. The others were already there and it seemed that the battle has begun. He stood there for a moment, sizing up his opponents. "Why'd you leave your best fighter behind?", he called over to Ichi, in a somewhat sarcastic manner. He agreed to the suggestion that Ichi gave before they left and that's what he craved right now. He wanted to fight someone powerful. Looking over at his copy, he motioned for it to advance towards the Alpha. Behind the smaller female and the one with butterfly-type wings, seemed to be defensive towards this one female. Assuming she was the Alphess, Ni followed behind his copy and sprinted towards her.
Esras was not happy that everyone else appeared so quickly. He had wanted to toy with her for awhile, and find out why she was familiar. He momentarily turned his attention to the one with the flame-fur and directed a low growl towards him. He wanted his time to do as he willed. He could care less about the agenda this group had, he just wanted to have his mayhem.
Another little one dropped in front of him. Another female? It was turning into a buffet now. An evil grin spread across his face. This little one would be no trouble to deal with. The other two arrived then. Damn it. Esras snorted at his lost oppurtunity. He still kept his eyes on the white female, who was most likely the alphess, the male beside her possibly the alpha, or future one.
The markings....they were familiar. But where?
Ea's heart dropped when Tristesse landed between her and the demon. That would get her killed. "Tristesse," Ea whispered, "get behind me..." She would have said more, but a snarl from the rear ripped her attention away from what was in front. She felt Akuma address that threat, and let it be for now. She knew he was capable, and she worried if she turned from the demon he would attack.
If Tristesse had move, she would step forward and straighten up, masking the fear she felt in her heart behind a stoic resolve. He head held high, tail and ears bolt upright - which allowed her to hear the approach of the other two - she said nothing right away. She just glared at the demon in front of her.
When the others arrived, she would speak, loud and authoritative, to the intruders. "What is the meaning of this? Why do you invade our lands unprovoked?" It was obvious by now that she was Serra, but if she could cast any doubt...well, the best element of attack was surprise (which they had used already) but perhaps she could try it.
He was incredibly hot. His fur felt like fire on her, but nonetheless she urged him onward. She felt him slipping away and cursed inwardly. This was not the time or such things. He was talking in, stunted as it was, but something happened as he tried to continue.
He jerked, as if in pain. He looked as though something was taking over. She took a step back when she saw his eyes. They were cracked black and...within...he was not the same Koli. he looked straight at her, she narrowed her eyes. Would he turn on her now?
He said something about blood being spilt-though she had had the same feeling all morning- and darted off. She shook her head and darted off after him. What in the hells was going on with him? Was he going to protect the Serra? Would he attack her? No, she didn't think he would, but the look in his eyes, n his face, sent a cold shiver through her blood.
She sped up and caught up to him. They were close now, and she could smell the intruders. One scent stuck out above all the others. She knew this scent. She had made a vow years ago to destroy the wolf who smelled that way. The ice in her veins was replaced with molten lava and she ran even faster. Ea was not in even more danger, and Darklight had an old vendetta to settle.
Yes, blood would be spilt this day, and she was thirsty for it.
(Guess niphonos is out?)) 'Not fair..' she thought as Sank sped off. Setting herself into an easy, mile-earing.lope, she would get there soon enough. Seems like the plan is sorta falling apart. She also wondered how they would fo about killing an alpha and stuff. I mean it shouldn't be that hard eight? I mean, it only like the single most important wolf in the pack, no bodyguards, ha.....Sarcasm. ((Can't think of much else to say :/))
A smirk worked its ways onto San's lips as the others arrived. He watched the expressions on each one's face, including those of their victims. Oh, these three were far outnumbered. He thought it a little strange the rest of the pack were not present yet, but it would certainly be to their advantage. If they played it just right, they could knock these ones out before the others arrived - too late and devastated. Oh the thought of the chaos to reign was invigorating. But he waited, never the less. The attack was soon enough.
He glanced at Ichi, briefly. Oh, yes, this would definitely not end well. It seemed it was a free for all on attack. Yet no one had exactly taken the first leap. Time was wasting.
So he made his move.
With a snarl and bared fangs he pounced forward, quickly closing what distance there was between himself and the big purpley-bluish looking wolf with butterfly wings. He had never seen such a wolf in his life but it was of no consequence. He was going down just like each of the others. Except those who would live on to suffer. Ha. The attack was ensued, as he attempted to get a bite in his flesh. No questions, just blood.
Akuma's ears were backward, listening to Ea and the words issued by the others which all of a sudden seemed to appear out of nowhere. There seemed to be so many of them... they were clearly outnumbered. But that didn't mean, necessarily, that they were unmatched. There was a reason they were of the rank they held and it wasn't to be taken lightly. No, this would not be any mere simple task. Aside from the fact that he just knew more would arrive soon, perhaps to even the odds.
However, he was not expecting an outright attack so soon. He wondered if Ea had been intending to try negotiations of some sort. Not a bad idea. But these wolves were blood-thirsty. He could sense it. He had encountered these type before. This would be an all out battle of the strongest and most powerful. Briefly, his thoughts did resonate with Ea's spoken question. What had brought this on? The Voyani were a peaceful pack, having never provoked anyone. So why this? Why now? Unless of course some evil-doers just for the hell of it. Yes, that was perfectly possible, Akuma knew.
His stance lowered slightly more, his eyes flashing. Well, whatever these wolves were trying, he knew himself and Tristesse would do their best to protect Ea. Whatever the costs. She could... no... would not die.
He met the flaming one evenly, fangs glimmering sharp as he deflected his first attack. It had been so forward - easily defended. But of course, San had been going for that. No, magic wasn't being used yet - but perhaps it would swiftly come to that. Neither one had a wound yet inflicted. How long would that last?
San was back and at it again swiftly, light on his paws. It was clear he knew what he was doing.
Sanka watched as the alphess replaced herself with the younger wolf who came to her aid. If she decided to face Esras so be it, the runt would be his, but the alphess chose the wrong wolf to face if she expected answers. As she wasted her breath asking Esras questions San had begun his attack on his opponent. Ichi had begun to like Sans no bullshit attitude since day one and as San became more and more useful Sanka began too see him as more than just a mere pawn in his large scheme. The immortal Ni had also began to grow on him with his constant joking, his carefree attitude brought a peace to the group, or so he felt. Even Esras and his overpowering blood lust had began to become tolerable.
He faced his foe, the young wolf with blue eyes, and set his stance as his dark aura rose off of his pelt like a thick dark mist. He almost felt bad that he didn't know her name, it was definitely how he was taught to fight. He stood up as if abandoning he attack altogether, "What is your name young one?" he asked as a courtesy.
A trail of steam followed behind Koli as he ran quickly to where his instincts were telling him to go. His ability allowed him to hone onto the origins of dark powers and strong vibes of evil. koli was Usually able to block out these hellish auroras, preventing him to change into this maniacal and demonic state that he's currently in. However, it's been years since he has ever felt anything like this and the first time it was ever this strong. So strong, it broke his will to push back his abilities and broke through his defenses. It wanted out. It needed out. Koli compared his abilities to anger; it needed to unleash and vent every once in a while or else he could suffer greatly from lack thereof. He didn't want to find out what that was. He couldn't help but submit to it, especially now. He knew someone was in danger because of this depraved cloud.
Footfall in the snow was effortless as his body heat alone evaporated the snow under each step he took. Black blood was pumping through his veins, awakened and vicious. A curled and heinous grin slid its way onto his muzzle as he ran, tongue slithering around his whiskers, craving blood and infliction of pain. Scents came to his nose, realizing he was close to where his destination was. Weaving in and out of the trees, the male was nearing the end of the forest, hearing voices; a confrontation has already started. Most were just standing still, barking at each other about something. Well that doesn't look like any fun, Koli thought. Then, he noticed two were sprinting towards the huddled group off to his right. What irked him some though that they were identical and were about to attack the group of three, along with a whiter and thin wolf that laid off to the side of the group. Koli's main objective was to attack, but not just anyone. He could tell which ones had this evil emanating from them as if they had this glowing aurora around their bodies. The pair that was sprinting towards the group, the white wolf behind them and the others opposite of the huddled group had the evil, while the three didn't. He recognized them as the Serra of the Voyani, Akuma and he presumed another from the Voyani.
With a final step and push from his paws, Koli launched himself into the air, quickly rising high and above both sides. Deciding to attack the identical pair, Koli looked down and opened his maw wide, "Fluus Nox!", he shouts aloud. Activating his first attack, a pinwheel shape appeared just in front of his muzzle, spinning slowly. Locking onto Free, his body stopped and began to lift off the ground, though, his copy stayed where it was, stopping from its sprint. Rushing quickly to Koli as his attack used its gravitational abilities, he snapped his jaws shut, biting into his enemies side. Beginning to front flip, he started to spin. Increasing his speed, they both fell from the sky as this wheel of black and white blur. Colliding on the ground with a big crash, Koli suplexed Free's body into the snow headfirst. Unlocking his grip, Koli jumped back with a spin and landed on his paws, sliding back some. The steam returned to his body as he came to a stop.
Snapping his jaws, he looked around at the others that attacked the Voyani,"Who's next?"
Sprinting, Free was almost to the Alphess. He didn't care if the other two were there, he was confident that he could easily evade them both and get the leader of the pack. Just about to jump, Free felt himself pulled upwards by an unknown force as a voice called out. Too concentrated on his target, he didn't notice another from the Voyani came from the east. As if an invisible rope wrapped around him and pulled him straight up at a fierce speed, Free was already in his attackers grasp. At first, he didn't worry about injury as he never felt pain, just coming across to him as a nuisance rather than this sharp feeling. However, a shocking, sharp pain pierced his side, something that he was experiencing for the first time. Before he knew it, he was spinning with his attacker and with a crashing force, he collided with the ground headfirst. Body sticking up vertical from the ground, he was propped up on the back of his neck. Clenching his jaws, he fell onto his side and rolled back and forth on his back in agony holding the back of his head. A pain like this would have knocked any normal wolf out, but Free still had a great resistance, even if his attacker somehow made him, an immortal, feel pain. Though, it still made him shout out something that he never said before, "IT HURTS!!" Though he still felt the traumatizing pain, he felt as if his energy returned to him after his attacker let go of him. Free began to heal quickly, but the pain lingered.
((OoC: Who knew using three characters at once would be such an...adventure lol at any rate, sorry if this is too long))
Ea had asked the whole groups of intruders their reasons, but no one answered. Not even the demon before her, though she doubted he was leader. His type didn't seem the kind to associate with anyone for long periods of time. If he was traveling with them, he would likely betray them.
She doubted she would receive any answers, now that one of them jumped for Akuma. Her heart tightened, but she didn't let it show. She could show now fear. She needed to be the pillar for the pack.
She narrowed her eyes at the intruders around her, looking them over. She lowered her head, bared her fangs, and let a snarl escape her lips. The guttural sound a warning to the wolves invading her home.
How cute, she was finally getting territorial. The little white female bared her teeth at the lot of them, a weak warning, if you asked him. He chuckled, lowering his own head and pulling his lips back, showing off more of his already pronounced sabers.
He would accept the little one's challenge. Even if he never knew where he knew her from, he could still have the satisfaction of ripping her throat out
A deep hatred, similar to Koli's, began to course through her veins as she kept pace with her pack-mate. The scent was of one of the monsters who had killed her family, and she had a vendetta to settle.
Just as Koli burst out of no where, she too came forth suddenly. It was a blur of motion, but she pin-pointed the scent of the demon, opened her mouth wide in a roaring growl that shook the leaves on the trees, and let out a blast of fire.
Ea only caught sight of the dark shape of her sister in time to jump back from the burning heat of her attack. She had targeted the demon she was about to face herself, she assumed because he was so close, but the look on her sisters face was one she had never seen before. By that, she knew there was something more to this. Oh, Great Goddess, what had brought such great misfortune upon them?
He was just as surprised by the attack, and he had little time to get his huge form out of the way. His left wing was scorched, leaving it sizzling and many of the feathers burnt away. He cursed out-loud at the pain of it. "You nasty little harlot!" He growled at the new female, but his demeanor shifted when he finally looked at her.
She was the spitting image of the male of a family group he had killed years ago near Giaku. So that was the familiarity of their scent. With that nagging question settled, he began to wonder how they had escaped him that time. Either way, he would kill them now and settle this old, forgotten debt.
Darklight could hardly speak for the hate in her blood. Her teeth were fully bared and a deeply spiteful noise emanated from her gut. "Ea, get everyone out of here. Now!" She demanded.
If she lived, she would tell her little sister who this monster was, but she could not risk her getting in the way. One of them was going to die today, and she wanted to be sure it was him. With little effort, Darklight would attempt to spring up her wall of fire between each member of the pack and the inrtuders. It would rise ten feet above the ground, allowing the pack enough time to run, or if the would not, time to mount a counter offensive.
Ea nodded, knowing better than to ask questions at that moment, turned to her pack, issuing orders for everyone to take advantage of the momentary distraction. She was not as tactically minded as her sister, but she would manage. She had to.
The wall would only be up a few moments, but that was all that was needed. Darklight had the demon, Koli had one of them, Akuma another, and one was after Tristesse. She knew the little was would have a hard time handling him, she jumped in to help her.
As soon as the fire wall dropped, Ea let out a barrage of icicles aimed directly at the black male.
He had just started to charge again when a huge wall of flame cut him off. What was this?! He growled in annoyance at these little tricks. He knew the wall could not be up for long, and he was right. Only a moment later it evaporated. He was greeted with a dark form leaping toward him. A quick side step allotted the female only a swipe of her claw across his face.
She leapt at him as soon as she let go of her hold on the wall, but he avoided the attack. She was able to claw his face. A small victory, but she was far from celebrating. This monster would die..slowly and painfully for what he did to her and Ea.
