"I bet I could make her not hate you... Unless of course, she's had a conversation with you, because the all hope is lost. I mean, who would ever like you?" Grace said to Cercius, smiling as she joked, eliciting a small chuckle as he looks to the pale sky, "Oh believe me, I don't stand a chance, I didn't just talk to her, I turned her into a monster and she hates me for that..." he says, chuckling bitterly, "It was that, or she would have died, and I think she'd have preferred the latter..." Cercius sighs, closing his eyes and shifting his legs into a more comfortable position, then begins to sing in a whispering voice.
"We're gonna fight for what's right We're gonna help them survive We're in the fight of our lives And we are ready to die
We're gonna fight for the weak We're gonna make 'em believe We're gonna fight for what's right Today we're speaking our mind And if it kills me tonight I will be ready to die
A hero's not afraid to give his life A hero's gonna save them just in time" (( Lyrics taken from Hero by Skillet and changed a little to make it "we're" rather than "Who's" )) Cercius pauses, a small smile on his face, bitterly remembering some part of his life. "Of course, I've proven that I can't do that anymore... Perhaps... Perhaps I never could..."

"Of course, I've proven that I can't do that anymore... Perhaps... Perhaps I never could..." "Can't do what, 'Fight for what's right?'" Grace raised her head to look at Cercius again. "You found the time to sit down with me and explain... this world, I guess. You could have left me to stumble about in my ignorance." Grace thought Cercius was a nice enough guy, he never seemed like a "failure at life" before, at least, not as bad as she was. She raised her head and sang quietly,"The misery I know Like a friend that won't let go Is creeping up on me now once again
So I sing this song tonight To the ghost that will not die And somehow it seems to haunt me till the end
Do you feel the same For what once remained Yesterday is gone, we can't go back again Do you ever cry for the ghost of days gone by?" [/center] ((Ghost of Days Gone By by Alter Bridge!)) Grace looked to Cercius. "The past has already happened. Whatever happened to you, it's over. I believe you should remember it, whatever it is it seems important to you, but live only for the moment."

"Can't do what, 'Fight for what's right?'" Grace raises her head to look at Cercius as he looks, with some surprise, down at her. "You found the time to sit down with me and explain... this world, I guess. You could have left me to stumble about in my ignorance." And he pauses for a moment to ponder her words. "Could I have? I don't think I could have, for I was always meant to pass on our ways, as our Clan Draegga's son, I could never follow my own path, only the one set out for me by others..." And with that Grace raises her head to sing softly, the howling words mingling with the wind and the skies.
Cercius sighs, squeezing the bridge of his nose as Grace turns to him again. "The past has already happened. Whatever happened to you, it's over. I believe you should remember it, whatever it is it seems important to you, but live only for the moment." "I live for the moment now, but I live with the past on my shoulders every time I see a Vulf. Every time, I can see his body-" he stops abruptly, taking a deep breath. "You don't need to hear this, never mind..." He takes one more deep breath, singing softly to himself more than to her. "When you're stumbling through the darkness walking blind Don't forget that there is always hope to find." He opens his eyes and looks at Grace, a tired smile on his face, "And hope is always there, no matter how deep that darkness seems to be..."
