Kaalo ignored the mocking response to his push for control over the wild unpredictable one there and looked to Fyra as she admonished them both and padded towards the lake for a break from their tension.
Kaalo looked at Fuoco and couldn't supress a small look of distain. He knew that in order to prevent this maniac from possibly setting fire to the grass around them that he would have to find someway to prevent his protective nature from getting in the way.
"So... What a strange way fate has of bringing strangers together, eh?" He said in a relatively uninterested but tasteful tone, "What brings your fiery self to our beloved Akeru in such troubled times?"
Pride was a hard thing to set aside for the sake of confrontation prevention, but Kaalo resumed a calm seat a few feet from the other. He out-ranked this unwelcome rogue and he wasn't even sure if the wolf should be in this land uncontested, but if Fyramist was on his side there was very little that could be said against it. Alas, a burn between the two of them would burn his homeland for hours. His mind, however was still at odds with the war at their doorstep and the general safety of his mate...
Times were tough... dear stars they were tough...(( Sorry for the delayed and admittedly weak post guys x.x busy Kaalo is busy, but I promise I'm trying to keep up <3 ))

Fyra gave thema few tight words then got up and walked off toward the water. Fuoco of course watched her carefully and was debating whether or not to follow her. His ears twitched delicately as Kaalo started speaking again and Fuoco looked back to him. 'I came just to piss you off,' he said in a sickly sweet tone. Rolling his eyes and standing up.
'Listen sunshine, if I even had an inkling that your precious little world would burn, I would have already burnt it.' HE gave a mild stretch, 'I don't listen to you or anyone else for that matter. So get off your high rock and come down to the real world.' He snorted and trotted down to where Fyra was, more than annoyed enough with the Beta of this land.

Fyramist was determined to ignore them. It was her fault, she knew, for coming here and knowing that Fuoco would follow. There was no way he would stay. Not with the proper order established. If she was ever going to become alpha again, she could not be associated with such a one as he. Kaalo knew that, and was probably only respecting her choice now because—ironically—she was not alpha. She had some leeway right now. But not forever.
She heard their tense conversation, and then Fuoco tossing defiance in Kaalo’s face. A sigh left her as he now appeared beside her. Fyra looked at him, again wondering what, in that mischievous smirk, she found so appealing. Even now that she was of stable mind again, she felt the allure to chaos. Maybe that was a permanent part of her psyche now…a remaining scar of the madness.
She wondered if she was even fit to be alpha again.
“Try to be nice,” she said to Fuoco softly. “He’s only doing his duty.” It wasn’t Kaalo’s fault that she had a weird special bond with a troublemaker. Fyra turned her head around to give a smile at Kaalo—one both apologetic and reminiscent of her old self. But then she turned back to Fuoco. “You…don’t have to stay if you don’t want to.” Her voice was quiet. She knew he did as he pleased, but still, she felt that just had to be said.

Kaalo gave a snarl and rolled his eyes when Fuoco brushed his somewhat friendly advances aside. He lowered his ears expressing his discontent with the disrespect, but he knew that that was simply what the fire wolf was wanting. He had met the fellow once before and it returned to him WHY he had no desire to see the fool around his homeland. He glared at the beast as he padded over to Fyra. Kaalo stood exactly where he was raising his head and tail expressing rank.
The pair exchanged words quietly and Kaalo pretended not to listen but the fact that the conversation was about him, kept him in a foul temper. Fyramist had a history in these lands and he was no wolf to turn her away, but this rogue was tap-dancing on a thin wire that was ready to snap. Fyra smiled in his direction, but when she turned back to whisper to Fuoco again, he tried his best to cut her off before she could finish their little rendevous.
"Far be it for me to be asking, Lady Fyramist," he said perhaps too loudly at first, "But what is your plan for being in these lands once more? I am fairly certain your return will not remain unnoticed for very long."
Kaalo took no issue with Fyramist as they had very little past together. He had shown up around the same time she had taken her sabbatical of sorts, and that was that. He became Beta with Zoi while the others took Fyra's place. He was not sure, however, what would happen with some of the more emotionally connected members of Akeru. This was a situation to be treated gently and if Fuoco was sticking by her side, there was no possibility of that...

Fyra was more or less telling him to behave, regardless of how bad Kaalo got his goat. So much easier said than done. Fouco took the tiny pleading and looked at her. He didn't want to go. He didn't trust the pack to not turn on her, which was very much possible. His tail flickered briefly then he shifted downward, again laying down.
Dark eyes glared at Kaalo briefly before he went to finding more bugs and lighting their day up. mwhahahah..

A single form watched their argument from the shadows. She had come in on the middle of it, and had decided to watch and see if these were Akeru wolves. Once she was certain, once she heard the male say "Akeru," she waited for their arguement to end and for the rouge male to walk away. She padded towards the two remaining wolves, her tail, which curled over her back, wagging cautiously. She was a mix of gray and tan hairs with a white face, throat, underbelly, and legs, the colors of a wolf, with the body and build of a border collie. She had one blue eye and one yellow eye, both which shone with a cautious friendliness. "Excuse me." She said in a voice that was slightly roughened by seldom use. "Are you from the Akeru pack?"

Fyramist stiffened slightly at Kaalo’s bold inquiry. She could not be sure of his tone, whether he was merely curious or accusing her of…something. She glanced at Fuoco who was lighting more bugs on fire and, after rolling her eyes, shifted her attention back to the beta. “I just wanted to come home,” she said simply, and it was true. That was her main motivation. She had caught word of the war and wanted to come home and help. And once she returned, she had to revisit her old lands.
“I have not yet made up my mind…it may be that I should travel a bit longer before returning here permanently.” Again she glanced at Fuoco. Maybe she was not ready to settle down here again, as much as she had missed it. Maybe she would never be ready to stay here forever, as much as her heart was devoted to it.
Fyra’s ears perked up as she heard someone else approach them, and she turned her head to see a stranger, a young female who appeared innocent. This wolf clearly did not know what kind of meeting she was intruding on, and her question was strangely ironic. Was she from the Akeru pack? Once upon a time, she was the Akeru pack.
“I am,” she said, her voice as kind as it used to be. “As is Kaalo over here. He is, in fact, the beta male.” There was no use trying to explain Fyra’s delicate and complicated situation right now. “If you are newly arrived…you had best speak with him.” It was only proper.

Kaalo didn't mind Fyra's plan at all. The less Fuoco was around, the easier things would be for all of them. With war on their heals, rogues like him were less than helpful, more often than not.
"Well, you know m'lady's return is nothing but fine with myself, but I know some others may be a little more sceptical of all this. But you already know that, don't you." Kaalo stated.
It was right then that the newcomer approached. Timing with these types of relatively tense situations was key and the fae definitely was less than punctual. He looked first to Fuoco, while she addressed Fyra and the former alphess responded. If Fuoco were really as insane as his reputation, this could wind up being pretty tense.
"What's your name, newcomer?" Kaalo inquired in a less than flattered tone.
Wrong time, wrong place...

Well wasn't he just a special lad. Getting talked over by the big bad adults. Fuoco watched them for a moment then looked away, wanting to find enjoyment in something else. Though, frankly, sitting here and pissing off the Beta was a great deal of fun. Made it better that all he had to do was show his ugly mug and bam! Insta pissy mood for the rest of the world.
But they weren't alone for long. Black eyes moved to the newcomer and he arched a brow. Well now, Fuoco could live with this. Kaalo on the other hand, couldn't. His lips pressed firmly into a smug grin. 'Oh yes. Please do join us,' he stated, 'Sit a spell. We're only talking about fun things like the weather and how tragic it would be if this world suddenly burnt down.'

The wolfdog gave Fuoco a quick, confused glance before returning her gaze to Kaalo. "My name? I don't really have a proper name, sir, I've never had a mother around to name me. I came across a wolf a while ago who decided to call me Mysteria, almost as a nickname between friends. You can call me that if you want, sir." Mysteria's curled tail wagged anxiously. She hadn't spoken to another wolf or dog in a long time; she was worried she was messing things up, or somehow being rude. She added anxiously, "I'm a good hunter, sir, so I wouldn't be a burden or anything. And I may be half dog, but I can fight good too. I want to join your pack, sir, if it's not too much trouble." All the "sirs" were a result of her nervousness; she was trying hard to be polite.

Skeptical was one word to use for it. Fyramist was quiet as she contemplated the possibilities. Maybe she really was not ready to settle here again as alpha. Returning during a war to fight for her homeland was one thing…but to reclaim it and rule it as she was…perhaps not. Besides…it was being handled in trustworthy paws. Novawing and Zydeko were a great team together. If Fyra took the helm again, she might lead them all to hell without even meaning to.
And then there was the matter of Fuoco…nobody could quite understand and appreciate him like Fyra could. Madness. She quelled these heavy thoughts for now, though, and looked at the newcomer. Fuoco of course delighted in saying a few crazy words before the she-wolf nervously introduced herself. Mysteria, as she was casually called, seemed to have a lonely past. Fyramist gave a smile in an attempt to calm her anxiety.
“You are surely welcome here…Akeru is a home for people with experiences of all kinds.” She certainly was grateful that she was allowed a second and third chance here. “But it is not for me to say. You really should meet with the alphas here—probably in the morning. When the ghosts have all gone to sleep.” A hint of her old madness there that Fyra did not even notice.

Fuoco looked at all the wolves and let out a sigh. Oh so bored. Dark gaze traveled to Fyra and he stretched. 'Care to show me around this place you ditched?' He asked. And seriously, he was curious but letting her know tha twould be just plain silly.

At Fuoco’s request, Fyra looked away from the newcomer and the beta. Part of her, the strong former alpha part in her, wanted to stay to make sure that this new arrival was properly welcomed and settled in. But at the same time, she had to trust Kaalo, the beta, to do his duty. Besides, she feared that unless she got Fuoco away from Kaalo, there would start a fight that she would be responsible for. That would be no way to welcome Mysteria.
“Take care,” she said kindly to both the new female and Kaalo. “I will not be going far.” She gave a smile and then turned to nod to Fuoco, gesturing with her head for him to follow her. Fyra was not entirely sure where she was going to take him. She supposed they could simply walk around the lake. “This is the heart of Akeru,” she mentioned to him, “where the magical spirits reside.” She paused, shooting him a small glare. “Not the dead.”

She was polite to the others and then lead him away. He smirked and then followed after her. Then she was pointing out the lake and gave a correction. He looked to her for a moment. 'You know I don't care about a lake right?' Just in case she didn't know that.

Fyra’s little tour was interrupted by Fuoco’s rather blunt question, and she looked back down at him. After a moment, she rolled her eyes. “Of course. I should have realized. Do tell me, Fuoco, what do you care about?” It was a vague, broad question, something that she knew would be inviting all sorts of mischievous answers from him. She frowned at the thought. “Never mind. I can imagine. Making the whole world burn and so on.”
Despite what it seemed, her irritation was not directed toward him, but toward herself. What did she hope to gain by returning here? Clearly she was not the same Fyramist as before. And she was not really sure she wanted to be. Oh yes, nostalgia caused her to long for the past, when she was more confident and passionate about what she believed in…but now, her passions seemed to be scattered in different places.
When she attacked Lacrimosa, that had been passion. But had she been doing it for the sake of her pack, or for the sake of her sister, whose life had been in danger at that moment? Could she rule the quiet, neutral Akeru again, when she also enjoyed the same sort of freedom Fuoco did?
She had been hoping for answers and clarity, but coming here—and with Fuoco—had only made everything more muddled.
