Hearing that the approaching wolf meant no harm and that he new Aiu and Aiu knew him he calmly snuffed his fires and tucked his wings. "Sorry, about that" Shade said respectfully as Aiu ran by, "we just had a few nasties stop us lately" Shade chuckled lightly fluffing his feathers and shaking the rain off.
Shade looked up and sniffed the air, "yes, show us that burrow you know of, i think we be getting lightning soon" shade shrugged "i am not quite sure" He looked back at the two the steam still forming off his wings and smiled, "um by the way..." he trailed after them, "am i steaming?"

Alastolan chuckled slightly. "Come on Shade. Let's get out of the rain." Al looked back at the other wolf after he had listened to him speak. "So your name is Shade is it? Well, no apologies are necessary. I have no doubt you must have ran into some kind of trouble otherwise Aiu wouldn't have injured her wing." His head turned to the sky peering through the small gaps in the canopy above. "The clouds are getting darker and the rain heavier. I think you're right about the lightning. And yes. You are steaming. Why do you ask?" With his wing he held Aiu close to him as she leaned against him. Guiding them through the rain, following his own scent trail that had been nearly washed away, he weaved through the thick trees and underbrush until he arrived at said burrow. "Here it is. Let's all go inside." Slightly ducking into the entrance at the foot of the tree, he went in to the burrow with Aiu beside him assuming Shade had followed. Once inside he let Aiu go and began to shake the rain from his fur and wings. "It's great to see you again Aiu. I have to say I was really starting to miss your company. So anything new happened with you lately? And what about you Shade? How did you come to meet Aiu?"

Aiu let the males talk between themselves, instead focusing on something more interesting: the little divots being created in her ice-brace by the rain. Every once in a while, one would get deep enough to splash water upon her nose when the rain fell inside it. She quickly filled these in, however, and would then turn her attention to another of the small crevices. The adolescent femme was faintly aware of Shade saying something about the weather and then of Al commenting. "I think you're right about the lightning." The large red, black, and blue male was saying. Huh, nothing of- Lightening?! Aiu's head jerked up from examining her wing and she leaped to her feet, suddenly enthusiastic about moving to somewhere dry.
The sky was growing darker with every second; and with every shadow cast over the forest, Aiu shrunk farther and farther under Al's protective wing. Finally, they reached where her friend had been speaking of and the lithe femme dove inside even before Alastolan had finished inviting them in. In a flurry of feathers and snowy fur, she scurried as far back as the burrow would allow. Still when she hit the wall, she wiggled behind some roots and hunkered down. Her fur was soaking as were her wings, but she didn't care. Al was saying something to her, but she didn't care. Her emerald eyes were staring out through the entrance, watching as lightening began to dance over the sky. Following it being the ear-splitting boom of thunder. With each loud drum, the slender she-wolf whimpered and pulled herself tighter and tighter into the small ball she had curled into.
If there could be one thing in the world that Aiu was truly afraid of, it would be thunder and lightening.

The first crack of thunder made Shade's back feathers stand on end, 'why you ask?' was Al's question back, "um.. no reason, did i ask?" The smell of burning trees filled his nose but the smell was meerly a memory of that fateful day, "sorry i am just finicky with nasty weather and all that,"
Shade, turned around and watched the bolts branch along the clouds, his tail thrashed in distress, every bolt an image every clap a voice, of his life gone away, 'why take my family like you did, and curse me with the same powers you used to take them away?' Shade thought through those words, but family was the only word heard along with a single flash of red upon his symbols

Alastolan had noticed Aiu dive in and hunker down behind some roots as the lightning and thunder began to come faster, brighter and louder. A slight smile came over his face and he walked back to where she was, nudging her away from the wall and placing himself there instead. He folded his left wing over her and pulled her close to him to keep her warm and more comfortable. "I didn't know you were afraid of thunderstorms...." He spoke quietly with a calm and reassuring tone in his voice. "There's no need to be frightened of them Aiu. It's simply another part of mother nature. As long as you respect her, she will never harm you and always protect you. Mother nature is very powerful and sometimes frightening yes, but for all the power she has, there is gentleness. She was kind enough to grant us shelter here from her storm. There's no need to tense and ball up. Just relax. I'm here and I won't let anything happen to you." He looked over at Shade, raising his voice slightly so he could hear him rather than the quiet almost whispering volume he was talking with to Aiu next to him. "So you're finicky with bad weather too huh?" A laugh escaped his mouth. "I swear I think I'm the only one on this planet who actually LIKES thunder storms and such. I find them more than fascinating and marvel at such powerful events. In any case make yourself at home and if there's anything you want to ask me feel free. I don't mind answering almost any question. Or politely debating topics, whatever floats your boat to help pass the time." He turned his attention back to Aiu under his wing and layed his head next to hers.

Disturbed by the sound of voices Rubin lazily opened one eye soon followed by the other. Curled up in a small nook along the far side corner of the den, Rubin had taken refuge from the raging thunderstorm outside. Curled up tightly, her long bushy tail wrapped around her body giving her stability. She often slept in her Red Panda form as it was incredibly soft and warm. Contrary to its implied name she looked nothing like a panda. With red fur covering the whole of her small form she was about the size of a young koala. She moved much like a fox, with patches of white fur covering her black nose, small pointy ears, and big brown eyes. Her long back curved into a fluffy tail with red and white stripes, stripes much like that of a raccoon. Big brown eyes now starred intently out at the intruding wolves, content from their hiding spot. Her thin whiskers attached to her nose twitched as she analyzed the company. Two males and a female she guessed, stiffening at their entrance. As a shape shifter, her wolf form was her most common though she guessed it would be better to remain in her current small critter form, making for a more plausible escape if she were to be found out.

Manegarm looked up at the storm. "Great. Taking shelter under a tree is less than desireable, butif I go in the open, my armour will attract the lightning." He mused for a moment. "Screw it." He walked towards the trees and stayed under their cover. His stomach growled loudly. "Ah well. The prey animals will be taking cover as well. If a lightning bolt hits one, then I get cooked meat." he chuckled to himself, imagining the scene of a lightning bolt hitting an Elk right on the antlers

Rubin watched the wolves, growing more uncomfortable with their presence by the second. It would be unwise for her to change forms at present and she frowned slightly, her big brown eyes casting eerie shadows along the far side wall with each violent strike of lightning. Uncurling her long puffy tail that embodied her small frame she stretched silently, her gaze never leaving the wolves. Almost inaudibly she brought out her small taloned claws and dug into the stone wall, stealthily crawling up and out of the occupied den-like structure. The rain poured down on her relentlessly swiping at her face. She scuttered about the ground, her tiny paws thumping wildly as she ruffled through the brush. Her eyes partly closed as she transformed for the small forest creature into a petite fox, though still considered prey in the eyes of the dominant creatures. Her body curved elegantly as she darted quickly through towering pines and low hanging branches. The falling rain soaked in her scent casting it around with a persistent wisp.
