Caylee frowned slightly, "Oh..." She observed Zerlina's movements as the other sat on the bed. "What I meant was... your special talent. I'm a ballerina," she said the words with pride, a light coming to her eyes. "Or at least before they came and took me after my performance last week. I've only been able to gather a little information but it seems like they're collecting girls with performance talents for something. I'm not sure what yet... though the way they talk... I think this is an auction house." She didn't want to think the worst... but then, one never knows in a city like this. "I bet there is a way to escape..." she whispered, leaning closer to Zerlina.

Special talent as in her arts. Lina frowned as she explained that she was a dancer. Explained the tights then. Caylee went on to explain what she knew about this place. It wasn't a good thing either. Why would there be a trade for dancers and musicians? She could see brides and virgins, but this seemed so obscure.
She shook her head, 'I play the violin.' Among other things but like she was going to advertise that fact. 'I'm sure there is a way to escape,' she agreed and looked around the room. Just for shits and giggles she tried the door again. She wasn't surprised that it was locked. 'How long have you been here?' She asked moving to look in the drawers.

Caylee nodded when Zerlina said she played the violin and smiled when she agreed that they could escape. "I'd love to hear you play someday," she told her. The dancer remained seated as Zerlina moved about the room. "About a week... they've been collecting for a month up until today. There was another girl in here with me who had been here since the beginning of the month but they moved her." She paused. "You won't find anything but clothes, I think... although I gave up looking a while ago. I could've missed something..." She laid back lacing her fingers behind her head, though kept glancing toward the door.
About 10 minutes later, the sound of footsteps could be heard approaching in the hall and the door opened, one man standing in the doorway while two others moved in and attempted to grab each of the women inside.
As soon as the footsteps were approaching, Caylee hurriedly leaped behind the bed, ducking down, her hands folded over her knees. It was to no avail as she felt a hand grab her and pull her to her feet, dragging her out of the room. She knew there was no point in screaming and as soon as she got her feet back under herself, she followed along, praying silently that whatever was coming would be over quickly.
They would soon find themselves passing through the stage door, met by a small space behind some large black curtains. The sound of murmurs was evident and indicated a small crowd beyond. The man dressed in a purple suit was talking, announcing the most talented women in all the city and asking who might fetch the best prices. There were some whistles which filled up the room and the girls would feel a shove, pushed out onto a small wooden stage along with several other girls. One by one, the man would say what they performed and grasp a wrist, starting off a price based on looks.
Finally, it was Caylee who was next and she shuddered after watching various men in the audience who claimed their 'prizes'. Her hair was in her face though the man pushed it behind her shoulder. Her cheeks were rosy red and she stared at the floor. As a ballerina she was pretty and flexible... lord knows what those men were thinking. She heard as rising prices were called and in a moment the man beside her was shouting, "Sold!" She felt so small and helpless. How could she, a valuable human being, be sold like a piece of old furniture? She was ushered off in the other direction and glanced back at Zerlina, who would be next if she remained behind Caylee.

It never hurt to look twice. Zerlina watched and looked, trying to use her background knowledge for help. But it didn't matter. Footsteps were coming and she turned to look toward the door as the goons came in. She glared at them and was ready to fight off but would refrain. Poor Caylee looked scared out of her wits though.
Lina went with them and frowned as they moved into the stage. She could hear talking and it was easy to figure out what was going on. The man was auctioning them off quickly and Lina watched as Caylee went before her. She looked around trying to think of something but it was too late. She turned to watch Caylee get moved off and then she was being pushed forward.
She licked her lips as she was pushed forward going towar the center of the stage. But she wouldn't sit still. Screw that. AS soon as she would get close to the man she would rush forward, moving to hopefully knock him over so she could run past and to some where else.

Caylee was in shock at the events which followed. The man who had just auctioned her off was stumbling and Zerlina moving past him. She didn't move except when the man grasping her arm forced her to and she disappeared on the other end of the stage, blinded to whatever might happen next.
Men rushed onto the stage, making sure the other girls remaining didn't try anything funny and a couple others chased after Zerlina. There was no way in hell they were letting her escape that easily. The crowd grew restless, though some seemed in anticipation to see how things would unfold. "Stephan! Get your ***** under control, now!" Stephan continued to seem cool and collected though he slipped forward swiftly, chasing after her also. What a mess!
He attempted to grab her by the arm, and if successful would pull her to him, his grip firm, and move to resume the auction. He knew this would definitely fall on him and cost him probably. Perhaps he should have been more aggressive with her. He just hadn't thought it was necessary... he'd thought wrong. He'd gone too soft. Whether he was successful or not, he pulled a knife from within his coat, planning to use it as motivation for her to do as he told her. He just hoped the other girls didn't try to revolt in this whole process..

She had gotten far, but nearly far enough. She cursed as she was suddenly grabbed and dragged against something firm. She fought as much as she could and glared when she was brought back toward the stage. She twisted, 'I'll break my hands,' she told him over her shoulder, 'You think I value this career that much?' Stephan smirked, "No, I wouldn't bet on that. But your buyer does. And you'll never get out of this if you aren't sold." Which was true. He knew of a couple of men who bought the girls and set them free within a brief period of time. Unfortunately, they couldn't do anything about it because either they didn't know the identity of who did it specifically or the men had enough money it didn't matter. Zerlina didn't know that, and he wondered if he should tell her. But then, if she were sold to a man who didn't... bah what did he care. "Don't try anything else, or I'll keep you alive in the most painful ways I can imagine," he threatened.
"What a feisty one, she is, eh?" the man was saying, having recovered from being shoved. He gave a light laugh, the crowd slowly calming down. Perhaps no one was really interested in buying her now anyway. Or perhaps not as a few hands rose and the prices got higher. Two particular men seemed bent on winning and finally, the one gave up, realizing his pockets would be bare should he go any further. "Sold!" came the shout.
Stephan would then personally move to push her to the other side where she would join the other girls waiting on whomever would get them. He stood there, still grasping her, his knife pointed toward her side and looked around expectantly. There were various men handing over wads of cash or bags of money before taking whichever girl with him, accompanied by a couple of men who worked there to prevent escape attempts in transition. Perhaps Zerlina might be surprised to discover the same man who claimed Caylee claimed her as well. Caylee was trembling, shoved this way and that. Soon, they would both be in a long black limousine, guarded by more men in suits. Was there truly any escape, Caylee was wondering?

She licked her lips but was far from nervous. She was trying to grasp the situation. It was good to know though that not many wanted her any more. She had no problem with torture, this was jsut a life. She looked to the crowds as she was "sold" then moved with Stephan. He still had the knife at her side and she was tempted to fall into it. She'd enjoy seeing the reaction if the prize mule was killed off.
Money was being exchanged and she turned to look at Stephan, memorizing his face. SHe'd get him eventually. Adn this little ring would be shut down. She looked as they were moving out the door, 'I'll see you soon,' she told him with a forced smile and got into the limo. She had a headache and she was going to end this.

A glimmer filled his emerald eyes and a laugh came from his mouth. "Perhaps..." the smirk on his lips remained as he turned and went back inside the building.
Caylee looked around the limo nervously, her hands folded closely in her lap.
After another long car ride, one of the men in suits who had been guarding the limousine at the auction house opened each door, offering a hand to the ladies inside. It was a gentleman-like gesture, though it was obvious they had no choice at this point. They would find themselves within a gated area with a wide spread of grass and some gardening close to a large house. Moving up a concrete pathway, they would step through two tall doors into a large open space above which hung a chandelier. There were two sweeping stairways ending in a hallway in some unseen direction.
The man who had 'purchased' them moved ahead. He was dressed in a white suit with tousled brown hair and blue eyes and was somewhat tanned. "Follow me, please," he stated simply, moving beneath the stairways into a room just beyond on the right. There they would find a desk along with a dresser, a couple of cabinets, a tall book-case, and a closet. One of the men in suits stepped forward with the case containing Zerlina's violin, placing it on the desk and opening it.
The man who now "owned" them leaned back against the desk, folding his arms, and eying over them briefly. "I'm sure you both are wondering where you are, who I am, what the hell is going on. Hm?" he questioned, which of course was stating the obvious. "I will answer these questions in due time. First, I ask for a small demonstration."
He gestured toward the violin, lying in its case. "Please," he added, moving around the desk and sitting in the chair behind it.
Caylee nervously looked at Zerlina, somehow feeling safer that the other woman was present, yet still feeling greatly uncertain. What exactly did this guy want with them in particular anyway? She hoped Zerlina played something she might dance to... perhaps everything would work out sooner, she prayed.

It was a series of ups and downs and Lina was tiring of these retarded games. Into another house and again she was looking around, seeking out something that could help her. Nothing much with all these goons. Into another room adn meeting the man who had purchased them.
Her violin was laid at the desk and he asked for a demonstration. She eyed her instrument before looking back at him, 'I think its a bit odd you ask for a demonstration after you bought us. I highly doubt there's a return policy.' She crossed her arms, 'Answer the questions first and then maybe we'll preform for you.' It was defiant yes, but she refused to just be something they could mold.

It was understandable, this woman's demands. "Very well, as long as your performance comes I suppose I might oblige. Perhaps you've had a rough night." Now that, he knew, was an understatement. He folded his fingers together, looking between them directly. "My name is Isaak Chase, and this is my home. I am one who purchases two women every time they hold an auction, which is once every month. Unfortunately, I cannot take more. I've been following these guys for a couple of years now, searching for the opportunity to take them down. So far, no opportunity has come, but perhaps you ladies might be just the assistance I need."
The one girl still appeared frightened and he had a feeling she would be similar to most of her predecessors who had come in his house. But the other... she seemed different. She wasn't scared. He liked that.
"My goal so far has been gathering information. But soon I hope to act. The girls I have taken I have allowed freedom on some conditions. Some have even chosen to remain here." He paused, briefly, glancing at Caylee before returning his gaze to Zerlina. "I believe I have given you your request... now, a performance, if you will?"

He gave a run down and Lina watched him carefully. She couldn't tell if he was lying or not, but by far, she didn't like it at all. Gathering information. Waiting to spring. Please. With the money he seemed to have he could easily step in and take them down. She wasn't going to buy the story. Couldn't. These types of men couldn't be trusted, especially because he wanted them to play now.
Lina locked her jaw and looked to Caylee briefly before looking back to him.. 'Let her go rest,' She said indicating to Caylee, 'With her nerves like they are her performance wouldn't be that grand anyways.' No true indication of her talent. 'I can play for you though.'

His gaze narrowed slightly, though returned to his previous face in a moment. He had not had such stubborn opposition very often... "Come now, I'm sure you two will compliment each other nicely. It doesn't have to be long - perhaps a preview into your skills."
Caylee looked at Zerlina, then at this Isaak. "I'm fine, really," she stated. "I can dance..." She was secretly hoping that once they gave a small performance, they would be allowed to rest and eat perhaps. At this point, she wasn't sure whether to believe this guy or not. What she had been interested in was the freedom part he stated... though she wondered what sort of conditions he was talking about.

He still wanted one performance for some reason and Lina could hardly believe he was on the side of good. This had to be a ploy he got to relax the girls after their torment. The stipulations he put on on thier release were probably too high and so they had no choice but to remain behind.
Caylee said she was fine and Lina shook her head. 'Where's my violin?' she asked looking around for it. Might as well get this pathetic excuse for enjoying music out of the way.

OoC: So I can't find Zerlina's profile DX Could you point me in the right direction?
iC:
The violin case was brought forward and placed upon the desk, opened and left for Zerlina to do as she wished. Isaak seemed pleased and even sat back slightly.
Caylee twisted slightly and bent, trying to stretch somewhat though she didn't think it would be all that necessary. She lifted a leg behind her, grasping her foot with her hands and then doing the same with the other foot. Finally, she was ready, and she waited for Zerlina's song to start. Once this occurred, she would begin slow movements, her arms flowing out before her in one direction, then the other, her body leaning and swaying. It was true, she was tired, but she gave her best effort, knowing it wouldn't be long.
Her movements quickened as she moved about the room though still stayed relatively close to Zerlina, bending and swirling. Finally, she knelt as the music might come to an end, staring now at the floor.
As the performance began, Isaak felt himself in anticipation as he knew the other couple of men in the room were. A pleasant look was on his face as the performance continued and by the end a smile was fully gracing his lips, though the look in his eyes was hard to discern for certain - a mixture of dreamy and something else, pleased, perhaps? Clearly he was thinking something...
In any case, he rose, applauding lightly. "Well done... thank you. Now, if you will follow these gentlemen will show you to your room." After he said this, the two men present nodded and opened the door, one ducking out and waiting for the two women while the other waited to follow behind them. They would be lead out into the grand room from before, up one of the staircases, and down the hall on the story above. There would be two adjacent rooms, large in space as opposed to the cramped space at the auction house, and furnished well. There was even a private bathroom in each and plenty of various clothing and other feminine products including a variety of soap scents to choose from.
Once each girl got comfortable in their individual rooms, they would soon discover just what was really going on.
Zerlina had been correct in assuming not to trust Isaak for his word. He did often make it where the girls had little choice but to stay although several had left, it was true, after figuring out their own ways of escape. Much of what he had stated was true, but of course there was the hidden content he hadn't stated. Like the facts that he had been planning on taking over their business, maybe even starting a slightly different one. Also, the conditions laid down for the girls to be free were often difficult. But now was time for something different entirely.
Caylee felt herself somewhat in disbelief once she was presented with the room. It was glamorous, and she rushed to take a shower once the man left, glad for the opportunity. She decorated herself with the scent of lilies and wrapped a pink towel around herself. She moved across the room to one of the dressers, sorting through the clothes. That was when a man entered the room. He was dressed in simple jeans and a shirt and he locked the door behind him. "I hope you find everything to your liking?" He appeared similar to Isaak, though there were clear differences also. His brother, perhaps. Caylee was startled and turned, suddenly uncertain again. She pushed the drawer she had been sorting through closed and pressed her back against the dresser. "Yes..." The man moved toward her...
Meanwhile, Isaak himself was entering Zerlina's room. She wasn't for any of the others... he wanted this one for himself. "I'm impressed," were his chosen words.
