In all his weakness, he found strength in knowing that below lay ground to rest his aching paws. For months he had travelled, floating with the breeze from his home mountains and now having crossed sharp, ragged rock faces, a new land awaited. For beyond these dooming mountains of snow and ice he could see a frozen territory. This land locked away under the sheets of snow would be where he would live and roam for the rest of his life. And he had much to do...
As he was still a pup he had to find a mentor, someone to teach him things he did not know. For however wise he was in his age of not yet one year, he wasn't wise in the ways of the world. How could he be? But what he had seen so far had changed him for a dark pup on the outside to a dark pup on the inside.
The winds battered around his leathery wings, forcing him to land. Crimson eyes scanned hastilly, attempting to find a cave or something to protect him from the snow that was beginning to fall in numbers that increased by the second. He stood out like a sore thumb amongst the whiteness that was glaring at him. His jaw tightened as he was reminded of his family and their purity of colour. Of course, their purity was a sham. On the inside they were heartless and cruel. And that was why he was what he was. And why they were dead..
The black ball landed with a soft thump and he tucked his wings around him for warmth as he padded into the shelter. The snow would have swallowed him had he not been so light. As soon was his pads touched shale, he shook himself free of the snowflakes and ventured to the back of he cave. The shadows were comforting, the darkness inviting. His blood red eyes illuminated in the blackness but would be gone soon as he curled into a small ball, his wings folding around him, covering him almost completely. Only his small wet nose peeked out.
The rock was cold and sent shivers through his light form but his blood pumped around his frame and warmed him. He felt himself drift into a slumber that he had longed after for what seemed centuries. He let out a long breath, white mist swirling as he finally lay, exhausted from his journey from a life he would not miss.

It was cold. Her thought was as simple as that. There was nothing more to determine about the freezing, cold...frost that clung to her short fur, and frozen grit that pushed in between her toes as she sank into the white powder. Had she thought about how blinding the stuff was? Perhaps she had, but in her irritation had forgotten about it. So now she thought it again, eyes squinting to shield against the glare. It was bright.
Not that she had anything against bright colors, for her own pelt lacked any darkness aside from the close-to-blood red markings along her back and face. The rest of her pelt, to those who weren't used to such colors, was a blindingly bright orange that reminded one of that certain fruit that grew on tall bushes she had seen before. She simply decided to dislike looking at the white substance with her own eyes.
The metallic bands along her hind legs jingled as they clashed in the winds, waking her up a bit as a sound appart from the wind and silence entered her ears. It was at that moment that she noticed a blotch of color that contrasted to the surrounding white.Thank the gods. She thought to herself, approaching the opening with a greatful heart. A cave.
Once the stinging scent of frosted air left her nostrils, she was able to pick up the scent of another and moved further in to investigate. She lowered her head, bending her long legs slightly as her back had uncomfortably brushed up against a stalagtite. Her eyes had not adjusted from the blinding sheet of white she had just traveled, so she could only pick out a formless lump near the back of the shelter. She was such a tall wolf, that this small little form was a wonder to her and she was curious to know what could be so small. She moved closer, cautiously picking her way to the creature that she could now hear the soft breath of sleep eminating from it. She stopped, once her paws were situated on either side of the being and lowered her head to hover above the creature. Twas a pup! To her surprise, for she had never seen one before. All of her brothers had been older than her by the time she was born and she had been an only child of the litter.

His sleep was rudely interrupted as a foreign scent entered his nostrils. Lids slid off his eyes and he spotted what seemed to be orange furred paws before him, this was in turn another surprise. He had never seen a wolf of any other colouring besides white. But this did not entertain him for long, with a burst of strength through the muscular frame of his wings he leapt to his paws, his wings spanned out around him. The hairs on his neck and along his spine stood to attention, raising his hackles. His lip quivered slightly but he made sure not to bear his needle fangs or to release even the most timid of growls. Making the first impression of a threat could be extremely dangerous.
Blood red eyes scanned over the female before him. She was tall, slender and unlike any wolf he had come across before in colouring and in form. She gave the impression of elegance thus not of battle however he was always careful not to underestimate anyone, no matter how harmless they appeared. Tail swished behind him and he stared coldly at her. His eyes were deep and menancing in the darkness, they stood out against his blended body.
He found his mind wondering over what kind of wolf she was. She seemed somewhat tropical yet he could be wrong for what would a tropical wolf be doing in the snow. Then again - what would a lonely pup of not yet a year be doing on his own at the almost peak of a mountain? He stayed silent, allowing time to her to explain herself for as far as he knew, he was here first.
His ears flickered as he heard the wind pick up and howl eerily. There was no doubt she was seeking shelter as he was. So considering the weather condition.. and her obvious advantage of size, he was going to allow her to stay. Upon his conclusion his hackles lowered slightly and his lip lowered however his boring stare still penetrated her. He still had an aura of tension.

The only movement she made as he suddenly lifted himself was the momentary flicking of her ears as they lowered to the metal that she wore atop her cranium. Her instincts kicked in as she watched his hackles raise, her own bristling in a show of her own despite the thoughts of warning that this creature was only a pup.
Her tail was held stiff at a horizontal level, back end raised over her head as she was bending lower in the front from her previous curiosity to find out just what this pup had been before she had made the discovery.
She noticed that his stance had changed, fur no longer raise along the neck and worked to control herself as well. She was always told by her father that battles were not necessary when there was no reason to fight...not that she would concider fighting a pup. It was probably unfair to do that...right? She thought so, since her father had told her something similar to that. Except that rule had involved something about being chivalrous to females...
Reisha could feel a drawing silence between them and felt the need to break the ice...so to speak, for her mind wandered momentarily on the snow just outside the cavern.
Uncertainly, she closed her eyes, lips pulling into a wolfen grin that revealed her tongue as only the tip stuck out from her canines. To add to the show of being no threat, she gave her tail a little wag.
"Hello. Would you mind my staying here with you? It's a bit too cold out there for my liking."

The deep red eyes that following her every move slipped up and down her, studying her carefully. Her bodily reply to his foremost and then second reaction helped him come to the conclusion that this wolf was not exactly dark but not entirely pure. She was a betweener, following her own rules to live by. He respected that. Everything that was going on outside suggested that she had nowhere to go now anyway. The wind was becoming more and more anger, fighting with the snow that whipped through it's currents. No one liked to be caught in the middle of an elemental battle.
The hind legs which had been begging him to return to the floor folded and he placed his small rump on the ground. In turn, his wings surrendered back onto the sides of his shivering body. Hollow bones were never handy in the cold. The fastest this storm ended, the better. His posture was controlled and proper, not like a normal pup that slumped and looked like a rag doll. Opening his maw he gave her a verbal answer.
"By all means."
He simply said in a smooth voice. Yet the sound was not a mocking, manipulative voice. It was just a silky, voice that one would never guess was a pups apart from the pitch but still, even that was deeper and more leashed in than others. He continued in finding out just who this female was.
"May I ask what brings you so far up a mountain?"
It seemed odd that she should be here. Considering her appearance and what she looked suited for. Besides, what was up here but snow? Prey would be hidden and hibernating not that there was much up at the peak in such altitudes. The coal coloured pup had a practical mind and did not consider things like perhaps she might be here for the view that was unfortunately spoiled by a bleak and ragging snow storm. He had feelings yes, but he did not how to deal with them so he simply did not show them at all. Despite the fact that these emotions would all return to him no doubtedly sooner or later, he kept them bottled away and managed to appear like a generally stable young pup. He just did not act like a pup. Play was a way to increase his ability to dodge and attack, not just for fun. Fun didn't exist in his world.

(Forgive me for the lateness, I had exams and work last week )
She merely blinked, tilting her head slightly as she appeared to be thinking over an answer to the question, not that it would normally be difficult to answer such a question. Her brows knit together as she stood up to her full height, still reflecting on the thought. "Ah..." She said in a frustrated manner, "Why was I here?"
Her haunches fell to the floor and she brought up her hind foot in a scratching action and continued to swipe at her chin, all the while muttering, "Why, why, why..."
She suddenly opened her eyes and let out a rather loud, "AHA!" and lowered her hind leg, wearing a large grin as though she had found a huge buck for herself.
"I got lost!" She sung out, appearing carefree and oblivious to her situation.

The young pup was baffled by the wolf's freedom of spirit. Did she just simply not care? It seemed that she made everything appear much easier than it actually was. How was she to survive if she couldn't find her way back to where ever she came from? The whole idea was ludicrus!
He made a disgusted face as she opened 'groomed' herself in front of him, did she have no dignity? He would never act this way before a complete stranger. His ears pushed back against his head as she continued to mutter away to herself. She was a curiously odd and mixed up creature. She didn't look to know much about her own direction or intentions.
The respect he had for her was dropping. This wasn't very practical nor logical in the least!
"You got lost? I see how that could've happened.."
He murmured with a sharp flick of his tail. His wings shuffled uncomfortably on his sides, the cold weather was somewhat unpleasant for him. Then again, it seemed that this weather was unpleasant for everyone. He boldly continued in discovering more about her.
"Do you have a name?"
Or have you lost that too? He added secretly in the mists of his thoughts. Yet he did not completely underestimate her. That was a mistake he never made. Perhaps she used this spontanity to some sort of advantage? For what exactly he couldn't see.
(OOC - Don't worry, forgive my shortness, I'm having a mental blank T_T')

"Of course!" She nodded, adjusting herself into a standing position on all four legs and lowering her neck slightly in a way of a formal greeting. "Reisha it is."
Dropping the formalities, her tail wagged enthusiastically after her greeting as she lost all personal boundaries(if she even had any to begin with) and just about shoved her face into his asking, "Do you have one aswell?"
(Haha, you think yours was short? xD *throws brain across the room*)

Her abrupt advancement into his usually personal space caused the pup to bristle and jolt back slightly. She was completely unpredictable. He wasn't startled as such, more invaded. He had a sense of pride and when that was damaged through similar stunts that she had just pulled off then, he felt a little defensive. His wings shuffled about his sides as he recomposed himself to reply her question. He still was close enough to see a miniature him reflection in her curiously excited eyes.
"Svat."
He answered simply and somewhat coldly. He stared back at her, contiuing to water her every move, more closely than he had before. He did not appreciate her carelessness in invading his personal space.
He noticed he coul hear his and her own breathing much easier and clearer now. And their voices were no longer drowning in the sound of raging snow, wind and ice. He breathed a sigh of relief, he would be able to soon continue on and hopefully would not be followed by this female.
"Forgive me but the storm seems to be subsiding and I shall head immediately down the mountain as soon as the storm has settled down completely."
Svat did not bother to continue the conversation. He had found out all he needed about this fae and had found that she was of no real threat or importance to anyone anytime soon. So with that thought in mind he curled up into his original position to catch up on what little rest he could before it was safe enough to travel to the base of the mountain and hopefully to calmer lands.
(OOC - watches brain fly like a tennis ball being served to the other side of the court- Nice! hehe You can bug Svat as much as you want lol it's funny!)

The answer he provided caused an ear to fold low and close to her skull, the other standing straight in a comical fashion when put together with the canine grin that her lips portrayed. "A pleasure, S-vat." She pronounced slowly as if to test the taste of the word on her tongue.
As he had noticed the thinning weather, so had she, though not with the imediate thought that it meant she would be able to leave this cavern sooner as Svat was likely hoping. Her gaze turned to look out the opening she had luckly found from her trek in the freezing snow. Once the storm had died down some, perhaps she too would venture out into the cold and...
Inside her mind, she mentally groaned at the thought of venturing out into anything colder than a day of spring time with a simple breeze as the only relief from the sun. And she had just so happened to get lost in something that her fur could hardly protect against.
She turned to Svat, watching him quietly for a moment, when an idea formed. She, not capable of seeing how much her uplifted and carefree mentality had gotten on Svat's nerves, thought it would be fun to follow him for a while. She was horrible with directions and thus would probably only end up getting herself more lost in the cold wilderness and she didn't like that chilly thought. So the solution would be, if he was heading for warmer climates, then she could simply follow him.
Lacking the understanding of one's personal space when compared to strangers and friends, Reisha lifted a paw and made an attempt to softly lay it on his backside in hopes of getting his attention again. Which in doing so, Reisha would discover just how soft his puppy fur was and would quickly compare it in her mind to 'something very fuzzy'.

To his dismay, Svat felt an icy paw upon his rump. His soft little body went ridgid in surprize and annoyance. Had she no respect?! And placing her paw in such an undignified way on his carefully curled behind! If that was her only reason, he saw no other way of reacting except from lashing around and giving her curious paw the biting of a life time. Yet he couldn't be sure, perhaps she just simply wanted his attention. He rolled his eyes, she was but a pup in an adult's form.
He slowly raised his skull and cruely glared at her, expressing the depth of his negativity towards her newest frustration.
"Can I help you in some way?"
Svat spoke through clenched teeth. His patience had never been tested like this since his time spent with his now deceased siblings and he feared that he would have trouble containing himself but he had all confidence that he would try very hard. His glare morphed into a simple gaze. It seemed he sensed something in her eyes. She seemed lonely. Somewhere down deep, she seemed incredibly lonely. He did not mind acting as somewhat of a companion as he realised that a pup with an adult had a much better chance of survival especially down a mountain and would not be rivaled by other and older males.
"Let me guess. You want me to stay with me so you can avoid getting into this... lost situation again?"
Svat knew that if he adopted her as his companion for the trek down the mountain, walking would be his method of travel but frankly, he suspected that his legs needed to be more properly exercised more often. The walk would do him good.
The storm had settled completely now. Svat saw his chance to escape the mountain's fury and proceeded in advancing towards the opening of the cave. He looked back.
"Are you coming or are you suspecting to use your own sense of direction?"
He emmited a small chuckle at the thought of her trudging around in circles in a snow storm.

At his first question, she had simply smiled, allowing for his own instincts to guess what exactly it was she wanted his help for. At the moment when he made his first correct guess of her reason for his attention, she only nodded enthusiastically. He was practically reading her mind.
She stood up and scrambled to catch up to him, despite the fact that with her long legs, it only took a few strides until she was at the hollow's opening. Once there, she curiously stuck her head out and regretted it as a clump of snow fell onto the metal protecter over her forehead. Shaking it off to the side opposite where Svat stood, she tilted her head in a playful way and stated, "I'd rather not. My dad says I have no directional sense." She snorted and nodded her head once in a 'matter of fact' way, with a grin that suggested it was something to be proud of.

(sorry for the shortness.. on the run)
Placing one paw on the snow sent him almost under. The snow was deep for a pup. Although he did have the use of his wings, the air was still vicious above them and despite his every wish to be away from the humiliation of the snow's ability to clearly reveal his age and everything he didn't want to be, he had no choice but to bound in great leaps. If only he were a little older. Then maybe the snow would not have such a tendency to such him under.
Reisha seemed to know exactly how to cheat herself out of her age. Although hers was a matter of personality or perhaps brain power.. Not appearance. Although she did have the blatant expression of an ordinary pup. Thank God he wasn't ordinary. He breathed outwardly, shaking his head upon her peculiar way of stating her faults. It was almost as if she didn't think they were faults. Upon glancing on her extravagant smile he corrected himself. She did think it was in fact a positive quality. How sad.
"Your Father must have been a very observant canine.."
Svat murmured between breathes as he bounded along. The effort required caused his breath to quicken slightly. Although using his leg muscles was a much needed exercise. They would become weak if he neglected them. They would become but skin and bones and then how would he protect himself?

Reisha watched Svat's actions with interest, after a while her mind began to process the movements as being a part of some sort of fun game. Her tail wagged slightly as she took a step out onto the snow. As with Svat, her paw sunk right in like his small body, however she was not engulfed by it due to a lack of size. She in fact had a great advantage with long legs while the snow only came up slightly over her feet. She was somewhat disappointed that she would not be able to repeat the same motions as Svat because of it.
"He was!" She nodded, getting warm feeling just from thinking of her father. It had been so long since she'd last seen him...
As Reisha's mind pulled in a random thought to interupt her current one, she positions her body in a playful stance with her rump slightly higher than her head. Giving a slight wave of her back end, she jumped up and landed forepaws first into the snow just ahead of Svat. She had copied his small leaps and bounds by making her own fairly large leap ahead to playfully pound the snow. Her landing had also created a fairly nice splash of frozen ice around the nearby area, giving her own blazen orange fur a clean layer of white.
