"Ha- AIIII!!!" Nein had started to jump away... literally. "Na... Wait!" The twins ran at her before Satsukai suddenly blocked them, wolf-form. "Chotto matte, kudasai." "...Okay..."
Satsukai walked over to where Nein was. "Why are you, ah, 'running'," Satsukai coughed, "-away? Do you fe-" He suddenly stopped. "We're not going to hurt you, at least I'm sure me and the twins-"
He glared at the twins whom mock whimpered, and then studied Selth. For a moment he stared at his eyes. Odd, he must think a lot, it clouds his eyes; "And I doubt that Selth with hurt you either. We would only hurt you for some reason, even if it be stupid. We don't have anything against you, we haven't even met before, even. I know what humans are like, I've been stuck with a certain obvious two for like, a few years, maybe 2?"
He started getting off subject. "What I'm trying to say is, we're just trying to help." Unfortunately, this was all spoken in dog-speech, the humans couldn't understand. He became human again. "Selth-san, daijoubu desu-ka?"
Satsukai suddenly fainted, swirls in his eyes. "Ne, Satsu!" They shook at Satsukai, who's neck 'de-stiffened.' "Err, not to worry! He's just tired from his large dog-speech!" They sighed. "What he meant was, are you okay, Selth?" They looked at him for a moment.
((Now I'm confuzzled.))

"Ahh..."
The dog's teeth had just barely bitten him, but it just bled slightly from the back of his hand.
"Heh, I'm all right." He answered to the twins and the now human dog. Instead of healing the scratch, he let it bleed. He looked up at Nein and smiled.
"It's all right." Now he scooped up some snow in his left hand and pressed the blood into it. He walked a bit away from the four, shaping the snow into a perfect sphere as he did so. Oddly, the blood spread evenly throughout the snow, tinting it pink. He took a small knife from his cloak and began to carve intricate patterns into the snow ball. Soon it was covered with a winding network of lines, curves, and the like. In the east, the horizon had begun to turn from black to gray. Selth stared at it for a little bit, holding the snowball in his right hand. A slight breeze passed him, and it became stronger. Sheltering the snowball infront of him so none could see it and the green light that now pulsed through the lines he had carved.
"...Heh, heh...
He put one hand over the snowball for a few seconds, and when he removed it, the snow and the green light that had passed through it were crystal. He turned back to the other three and slowly walked back. He walked up to the twins and the unconsious Satsukai.
"You sure he's allright?"

Nein looked to the wolf with fear. He approached her, which seemed totally horrific. She was in no condition to fight with another dog, a bigger one, a healthier, hardier dog than she. She backed away further, ready to spring away in case he lunged. Her narrow paws sank into the snow, and it soaked through hher fur. They'd freeze if she stayed to long. Her paws hadn't really been warm in months, since early fall. Her skin might've been nblue under the fur for all she knew. She perked her hanging ears as the wolf began to speak. His accent was quite something, she'd never heard anything like it. It was definitel not like her accent. He sounded confused. Highly confused. She was in the predicament to cock and eyebrow, too, at the way he talked. She nodded slowly, trying to sort it out. They won't hurt her, they won't.... But, then, why was that one person messing with her leg? And, also, he said they'd only hurt her for a reason, even if it was a stupid one. That's why the man had struck her those nightsago... A stupid reason; Fear and misunderstanding. That was an excuse. So, if they hurt her again their excuse would be that they had a reason. Excuses for hurting other creatures.... How pitiful.
She looked up when the wolf had said two years. Two years? He was a bit older than her if he was only two years. His last sentance, though was the only one that really made sense. When he turned human she whimpered slightly, moving closer, but jumped back as he fainted. That wasn't good. Had he been eating enough? Been sleeping right? She came up to his side and nosed his arm, whimpering "Get up, please up"

Selth was doing something... nothing suspicious, sure, but the twins were curious to see. Only a few millimeters had they inched closer the Satsukai moaned something after Nein nosed his arm. "Ne..." The twins attention turned to Satsu.
"You sure he's alright?" and Nein nudging him, maybe they were concerning him? "Ah, he's fine, you don't know where we found him when we first traveled together." Satsukai was conscious now, and was rubbing his eyes as he smiled at Nein.
--
"'Ne'," The twins tried copying what Satsu always said, which hardly affected him, "We found him, maybe somewhere near a forest, yes?" Satsukai knew this better than they could. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAA!" The twins suddenly burst into laughter.
Satsu shook his head. They clearly had something to say which made him, frantic...."Ha, ha... W-We found him-" Nanai-dashi started, "-on a tree branch. He was, like, shaking, as if some earthquake was there!"
Satsu blushed. Chiro-dashi continued, "A-And, when we started chasing him, he got stuck under some log," Again they switched, "He's been following us, or more the other way around, really."
They took a deep breath, "Well, everytime he ran away, it was about a week until he came back, but usually a month. Then, when we all visited a village, well, he ran out which made us run for him." They shot him a glare, "We ended up at the mountains." He shot the glare back.
"It's amazing how he hasn't run away from this place yet, isn't it?"
Satsukai wondered if that was an insult or not. This time, he tried to speak english, which was currently broken. "Selth-san, you say something like, " What a coincidence that 'Nein' means 'No' in that other language. Maybe there was more to the name?", right?" Yes, of course he had been listening.
"Well, Nein-san tells me, man called her, 'Nein Tseliben.'" Suddenly his face showed shock. "How could I forgotten that?!" The twins shook their heads at him. "He's Japanese." His english voice was pretty deep, but when he spoke Japanese he sounded like a whistle.

"Hmm, yes, I'm sure that nein means no, but as to Tseliben, I have no idea."
He looked at Nein.
"Please, Satsukai, tell Nein that I meant no harm by touching her wound. Perhaps she will be easier with one of the twins healing her."
He looked at the two girls, then at the dog at Satsukai's side.
"I'll be back in a bit." Selth took his staff, walked around the next alley, and jumped up to the roof before anyone could follow him.
...How strong is light in the face of darkness?
Selth once again had his sketch book and his journel out as he sat on the roof. Both were floating within his reach.
...Is it always destined to win? Or is that just the way life has portrayed it?
He was writing lesiurly in his journel, then, when he was finished, he grabed his sketchbook. He was facing east, at the rising sun. Taking the pencil in hand, he drew faint lines, then darkened them, until he had a good picture. Then he just layed back and watched the stars slowly disappear.

Nein wagged her tail and dog-smiled as she collected that Satsukai was okay. She jumped onto him and tried to get to his face to lick. Yay! He was better! She wondered if he had just faked it, but she really didn't care. She nuzzled and licked at his face and arms, saying, "Oh, good, I thought you were hurt!" She retreated a bit and sat down, still dog-smiling with a wagging tail. She hadn;t even noticed that Selth was gone, disappeared into the darkness of an alleyway. She looked around a bit, sensing an absense of energy, when her eyes caught the glow that forshadowed the rising of the sun. She haad been out all night, and now the sun was coming up. The sun, the warm orb that lit the alleyways and streets, that foretold the walking of the busy people. It also made it harder to steaal food. She looked at the twins, then at Satsukai. She wanted to leeave, to go to her little daytime haunt behind that one store where people went to get their clothes fixed. But, also, she didn't want to leave these two people that seemed to care about her, no matter how rambontious and looney they were. Heh, Looney. Looney, looney, was the golden corn. What? What was that just now? Oh, well. It was no matter. When the world can fade to black is when it'll matter. But, that wasn't anytime soon. She whined impatiently, asking for them to go somewhere else. She obviously didn't like the daytime, and for obvious reasons.

Satsukai found his face and arm wet. He rubbed Nein and smiled. He said in dog-speech, "Selth just wanted to tell you, he didn't mean any harm by touching your wound. Also, are your wounds okay?" He glanced down at them. Satsukai's fur suddenly burned which made him jump out of the twins arms. Sun-sensitive freak. He heard Nein whine, something about going somewhere else. "Ne, Nanai-cha-" "-Yesh, we know, 'Satsu-kun.'" He flinched at that expression. He looked at Selth."Selth-san? We going with Nein." They waved at him. They weren't expecting him to follow or anything, they hadn't known him for long. Oh yeah, something about what he said? "Ne, Satsu-kun, you heard what he said right?"
Satsukai was annoyed with the 'kun' suffix. "Haiii." He stood up and and swiped away any dust collecting on his shorts. "But, 'Satsu-kun' not sure if Nein-chan comfortable with it." The twins shot him a death glare. He gulped. "Anyway, Nein wants to go somewhere. Where do you want to go?"

Selth packed his bags and jumped down from the roof.
"I have nothing better to do now. I'll just follow you guys."
He thought for a bit.
"Maybe we should go to an inn or something. People will be out soon, and it would be an odd sight, all of us."
He took his great staff in hand and stood there, waiting for their decision.
