Even after six days of healing and recovering his wounds still ached. Though it was just more of a nuissance now than actual pain. Right now he felt like going into his four-legged form and sleeping for another few days, it was a lot more comfortable in that form. Two things kept him from changing: He had nowhere near enough energy, and Selia would probably kill him if he slept again for almost a week. When her hand had left his he opened his eyes and put his golden gaze on Selia, but still the only thing he could see was one big blur. Since he had to be the most stubborn thing on this planet he tried to push himself up so he could stand, like his body would let that happen right now.
His arms gave way and he fell to his back and just layed there for a few minutes. "If there's anythin' I hate more than humans, it's not being able ta move." The irritable Matias that Selia knew....and probably loved, was back. The best he could do was just pushing himself up just enough so that he could at least sit up against the wall of the cavernous place. Since his vision more or less didn't work he once again closed his eyes and looked down towards the ground. Selia's words reached his ears and he let out a single chuckle. "Yeah yeah, you were cryin'. Admit it." The teasing would always be a part of who he was, even if he had been on death's door step only minutes before. His hand went to the wound on his shoulder, he was surprised to feel the rough cloth of the bandages. It had been nursed. "Sel, did you do this? I told you not to worry about me." ((HAve to leave now, so don't blame me that it's short and sucks....blame my mom X.X;; )

As painful as it was for her to bear, she let Matias do his thing. He tried to get up, failed and just lay there. Then he pushed himself up against the wall and stayed there, much to her relief. Not taking heed to his self rightiousness, she got up, not having to stoop, as the cavern was roomy enough. Hunkering down beside him and looking at his wounded shoulder she grabbed bunched up blanket and pushed his shoulders and head forward a little with one hand. Heck, he could snap at her for all she cared, she was taking care of him, no matter what. Selia slipped the blanket behind his head for comfort then sat back again, shaking her head.
"Matias, dont even start with that bullshit. Yes I did that, but yes I was also the one who caused you to be so wounded in the first place. I fixed what I started." Her soft brown eyes were serious, still slightly damp. She would not take his, I'm not worth it, I can take care of myself, horseshit. The girl looked down at her hands, at how they were worn and beaten from all the hunting and scavenging she had done. Finding all this equipment to help him out. The worst Matias could do right now was be ungrateful. She had worked hard to make sure he was safe and warm. To make sure he lived. She looked back up and smiled again, but this one was a little more painful.
"I'm glad you're awake, Matias. I really am. And really, I cant help it if I worry...I'm just like that." Hands clenched at her sides as she sat there, but it was unnoticable. Guilt wracked her. She may have been the one who had done all this horrible [grrr]ing shit to him in the first place. Her smile faltered and she looked down at her feet. "I'm sorry."

Even when he could barely move he was still the stubborn jack ass he usually was, it seemed like he didn't even know of what had happened, or what he'd done to Selia. When she placed the blanket behind his head, he felt like getting up and storming out. It was a chore just to get up to rest against the wall, there was no way in hell he had the energy to angrily walk out of the place. He was too tired to even start one of his usual pointless arguments, he was in worse shape than he thought if he didn't even feel like doing that. Something a little more than just simple exhaustion was tugging at his heart, it was something that he didn't feel very often. Guilt, but he'd be damned if he showed it.
"I woulda woken up eventually. I can get by without help." When his eyes opened this time everything was finally in focus. They looked away from the ground and towards Selia, but quickly shot back down to his own hands. After a few seconds the black claws that almost always took place of finger nails sprouted at the same time that his fangs decided to form as well. Much better. Already his body was regaining energy, one more day of rest at the most would be enough before he could turn and hunt for himself. Since he had no energy at the moment, and that feeling of guilt invading his heart, he had to do something that he had almost never done before.
"Shit. Sel, don't you ever expect to hear this again. I know I'm an ass, my life would make anyone like that. I'm sorry if I don't seem grateful, most people wouldn't help a werewolf out, so I've gotten used to doin' everything myself."
His shackled hand reached up to the cross around his neck again, apologizing was out of his comfort zone, and that cross was the equivalent to Selia's daggers. While still playing with the cross he saw the guilt on Selia's face. At least I'm not the only one who feels like an asshole. Just to lighten things up he reached behind his head and grabbed the blanket that Selia had placed there as a pillow. When his hand was brought back to the front, it released the blanket and it hurtled towards Selia. "If you say you're sorry one more time I'm gettin' up and leavin'." He didn't mean a single word of the sentence, hopefully she would know that from the usual sarcastic demeanor in his voice.

Selia looked up just in time to see the blanket covering her vision. An unsuspecting laugh came out as arms flailed out to catch it. They only managed to become entangled and the blanket slid away from her now smiling eyes. Matias had apologised, not Selia's main goal, but something about that made her feel a lot better. Maybe it was the fact that she had succeeded partially in cracking the hard outter layer of Matias' macho-man exterior. Her laugheter died away but she still peaked over the blanket. Okay, putting it behind had pissed him off, oh well. Live with it tough-guy. The girl stcuk her tongue out at him over the blanket.
"Fine then, big man...I wont." There was a teasing in her voice, gently goading and prodding at him. It made her laugh when he got frustrated, as he seemed to have little understanding of a female's teasing, seductive ways. Much fun. Selia just sat there and looked at him for a moment, and the guilt drained away. It usually did after a good laugh and bright smile. Now, if Selia didnt know any better, she would have supposed that Matias's smile was making her quite happy as well. But she knew better, at least she hoped.
"You're just gunna have to get used to not doing EVERYTHING for yourself from now on, chum. Cause you're stuck with me, we're packmates now." The smile brightened. It was not so bad being a werewolf. Once or twice she had gone out hunting in her newly aquired form, and found it much to her liking. Yes she still coveted her daggers, which happened to be laying in the corner of the cavern, strapped into their respectable scabbards. All except for one, which lay at her side. It had been her comfort these last long six nights. Often she had rolled the cool metal across her palm, watched her reflection dance upon it. Gripped its handle tight. But now it lay forgotten beside her. All she could focus on was Matias, and that was A-OK.
"Got that?" she teased. "You better, cause I'm not taking no for an answer."
Yes, Matias may have looked hard gone-by, but still he had kept his initial charm. Perhaps that was what had drawn her to save him in the first place. Yes he had been an asshole, but to some extent where the teasings seemed to be more fond then anything else. And Selia just smiled at the boy, honesty in her soft brown eyes, but something else. Something neither of them understood.

When Selia decided to stick that tongue of hers out Matias decided to act immature as well. "I see that tongue again and I'll rip it out of your head." One clawed finger reached up to Selia's forehead and began to poke it incessantly. It was just sad when two sixteen year old werewolves were acting like four year old humans. Oh well, it was fun and Matias was bored as hell right now. The same clawed hand that had been poking at the girl's forehead grabbed the blanket and threw it back over her head. "I'm not the only one that can be childish, see?" To prove his statement he began to poke her head yet again.
The little kiddie fight made his mood much better, no more feeling like a douche bag today. He noted the teasing in her voice and chuckled, she was getting more like him every second the two were together. Which would apparently be a long time since she declared that they were pack mates, and being immortal meant that they would be around for a loooooong time. Oh well, she was growing on him[ so it might not be so bad living with her through the centuries. Of course he might have to deal with her increasing sarcasm, but he had five brothers (before he killed them) when he was a human, so it probably wouldn't be hard.
"Oh joy. Eternity bein' with you, can't wait." His need to be a smart ass was just as vital to him as oxygen was to others, without it, he couldn't live. His whole body began to ache, it wanted to change into some other form so badly. It just didn't have the energy though, so he would just have to live with the annoying pain for now. At least until tomorrow when he'd hopefully be strong enough for his body to go through the stress of transformation. Out of boredom he peeled off one of the bandages on his shoulder, but just enough so he could see just underneath it. The cut was still pretty deep, but it had come a long way during the days he'd been asleep, at least it wasn't bleeding or hurting anymore.
"Yeah yeah, not gonna be able to get rid of ya even if I wanted to. Might as well deal with it." This sounded a lot like a compliment, he was surprised that he had said that. It may have sounded like a weird compliment, but the now smart ass and increasingly cunning Selia would probably figure that it was still a compliment. He was starting to like this girl, no longer was she just company, she was something a little bit more than that now.

"Yup," Selia quipped, matter-of-factly, trying to push away his finger with one hand. The blanket went over her head again. Hello darkness my old friend. Hands felt about blindly, trying to cease his brutalization of her. She made some weak, oh-noes, and 'whatever-shall-I-do's'. Yes, the sarcasm bug was catching tonight, growing on her as it had become a perminant part of Matias. Finally she managed to throw the blanket off her head, and kicked his leg rather roughly in the thigh. "Cut it out, you bugger!"
And he did, and Selia sat and smiled as he picked off a bandage and examined the wound with much interest. Matias's last words caught her for a second. A compliment? Never, her ears must have been decieving her. Suddenly she remember something and leaned to the right for a second, coming back with a cloth that was wrapped around something. She opened the package to reveal a jumbo deer-steak. Blood stained the cloth, black and oily looking, but still held an enticing odor about it. Atop its makeshift plate she threw the disdainful looking thing onto the ground next to Matias. It landed with a wet smacking noise that suggested that the meat was really fresh.
"I know its not as good as human, but its something. I caught it yesterday all by myself." The last words were rather exaggerated, poofed out and haughty. It was as though she expected to win a medal for her act of hunger. Selia winked and sat back. She had had her fill already. Hopefully Matias would accept the offering. He hadnt eaten in over a week. Selia stretched, lifting her stiff arms up and yawning lightly. This act made her back arch rather like a cat, concaved. It was an eerily graceful movement for the slim girl. Hair tumbled carelessly over one shoulder and the curving of her spine caused her breasts to press against her shirt, shoving outwards a little. Selia then settled back to watch him. She was tired.
"You think its gunna be easy for me, either? It'll just be an etirnity of listening to you smart-mouth me every day. Just what I always wanted." Yes it was what she had always wanted. No denying it. A slight smirk played across her pursed lips, and she stowed it away rather casually. There were a select few things she could say she wanted to do to that smart mouth of his, but good girls dont kiss and tell, and Selia slowly let the levity of the fantacy fade back into her mind. Something to be enjoyed another time perhaps. Dream on little girl. Dream on.

"Ow....bitch." That kick that she so rudely decided to inflict upon him didn't even hurt, his 'ow' was just just even more sarcasm. If he could survive after having half of his side ripped off and a sword going through his shoulder, it would take A LOT more than just a little kick to make him feel any degree of pain. It did however annoy him slightly. He quickly looked around the shelter for something that could help him to annoy her as well, and what he found was a rock about the size of a small marble. "Fine fine." for now anyways
Like hell he was going to stop messing with her, it was too much fun, and entertainment was what he needed right now. His unbandaged hand quickly swiped up the rock, good thing it was only a few inches away from his hand or Selia would have probably noticed it. When she was leaning over for whatever reason, he wanted oh so badly to chuck that rock at right then. In fact, he almost did throw it. If it hadn't been for that piece of meat that flew towards him, Selia would have had a rock hit her right between the eyes. It was then that Matias realized how hungry he really was, of course he was hungry. He hadn't eaten in almost a damn week. At first the thing looked kind of gross, but the smell out did the steak's looks.
"Well now aren't you special?" Despite his unimpressed sounding, and quite smart ass remark, he still picked up the steak, pebble still in hand. Almost a split second later the meat was being pierced by ivory fangs, the thing didn't taste half-bad. Selia had actually done pretty good in killing the deer, but as she had said, it was nowhere near being as good as human. He continued to bite into the steak hungrily, each bite was better than the last. Damn, what kind of deer did she kill? He would have to figure out the answer to that later. When he looked up from the now half eaten steak he saw Selia stretching and saw that shoved out chest of hers. With a chuckle he flicked the stone, aiming for her head, hopefully it would annoy her a little if it hit.
"Stop tryin' to show off. You're good lookin', so what? We all know it." This time he knew what he had said and said it the way he meant to. Selia was good looking, and he wasn't really shy about letting people what he thought, most of the time anyways. Since he was still hungry as heck and still had half of a steak to finish off, he wasn't having the little fantasies that Selia had been thinking up. He was always the oblivious one....always.

Selia almost stopped dead at the sounds of his last words, and for just a few moments stared at the wall opposite to her. She gulped lightly, trying to make her numbed brain work again. What had he just said? Okay, the last time it might have been something of a compliment, but now, it was just kind of outright, and quickly a flush of red went across her cheeks. Selia tried to keep the smile off her face, even though the obvious embarasment showed through as well. A smirk played out at him. Selia was not used to someone being so outright about what they thought about her. For just a few seconds she allowed the comment to absorb into her brain before continuing.
"Wow, a compliment from you? A first time for everything I guess." This time she refrained from sticking her tongue out and instead crossed her arms defencively over her chest as if to childishly block his view of her goods. "And now that I know where your eyes are, then I'll be watching you a little more closely, you perve."
A sexy little pout crossed her face and she made it obvious that she was looking Matias over now, scanning every inch of his body. Muscles packed tight in his shoulders and chest showed as he was quite shirtless, tanned skin glowing in the dusty light of dusk that filtered inside of the tree-root cavern. Brown eyes made there way over his legs and groin, carefully too, lingering momentarily on the spot between his legs before moving on. Simply teasingly she licked her lips, wishing to just get him going. Eyelashed fluttered prettily in a quick wink in his direction. Selia could be silly too, Selia could make him uncomfortable as she wanted. Calm down there tiger, you're getting ahead of yourself.
"But I guess seeing as I get a free-be now, you're not all that bad looking yourself, Mattie. More then not bad, actually." Eyebrows raised suggestively. Playing the game was all. 'Hell yes you're good looking. Smoking hot.' She watched him devour the steak with ravenous speed, curling a lock of strait brown hair thoughtfully over one finger, wondering how he was going to react to her compliment. She liked what she saw in all honesty. But this wasnt just about teenage lust, and a hunger for the experiance, Selia was really getting to like the boy's company. His sarcasm was a charm, and his personality utterly attracting. In the back of her tired mind she simply wanted to curl up next to his warm body and fall asleep with an arm across his chest.
She sighed a little, uncrossed her arms finally and set them to her side. Sending subtle hints she would probably try, as obviously he would probably not be able to detect it in her. But maybe she was wrong, Matias was a werewolf afterall. A being built of suberb senses and instincts. Perhaps, just perhaps he would sense it.

Matias was a little disappointed when the stone that he wanted to throw at her so bad missed its target. Oh well, there would be plenty more chances to mess with her in the future. He went back to hungrily eating the rest of the steak, it must have been one big and healthy thing to taste so damn good. With one last bite and one last gulp the thing disappeared into his stomach....well what now? Nothing else to eat, and there was a werewolf girl who's face was turning scarlet out of embaressment....this should be fun. For now he just stared at the girl as she sat there and thought about it for a few minutes....she was a funny one. It was definitely going to be fun for the next few hundred years.
"Yup, not very many people get a compliment from me, but you're that good lookin'" This was said just to mess with her, although he somewhat meant it. It was funny, she thought that he meant to check her out. When her arms crossed her chest he chuckled and shook his head slightly. "Oh, Sel. You're a funny girl."
He didn't even take notice that she was now looking him over, he was too busy shifting around so that his hands were behind his head, his eyes were closed, and his legs were crossing each other. It was weird that after six days of sleeping he was getting tired again, damn this body. While he was relaxing he 'felt' Selia's eyes moving over him, this only helped confirm his suspicions that she indeed had been crushing on him. He may have acted stupid, but that was only for fun. For now he would keep what he now knew to himself, he would just play the role of the idiot for a little bit longer...mostly because it was good fun. One eye shot open and saw her eying something that she shouldn't be looking at just yet.
"I'm gonna say three things: One: Don't call me Mattie. Two: What're you lookin at and just what the hell's on your mind right now? And three: I know I look good." That last sentence was said not out of conceit, it was just the most smart ass thing to say at the moment. And since he made a smart ass remark it was soon followed by his trademark smirk. His one opened eye closed again and he let out a long yawn, damn. How the hell could he be tired after sleeping for six days? Oh well, Selia's fun company would probably keep him up for awhile. What he didn't know was just how much the girl liked him, her thoughts of wanting to just lay down next to each other were ones that he wouldn't really mind happening right now.
Those subtle hints of attraction towards him were noticed, though he didn't let it show. Once again he was just going to act like the oblivious little idiot, he was going to let the girl have some fun in thinking that he didn't have a clue.

"One: I'll call you what I want. Two: If I told you you'd laugh. and Three: [grrr] you." This all came out with a small burst of laughter, but the red never left her face. She smiled out teasingly at the boy and tried to settle the thoughts in her head. She knew a lot, but maybe not as much as she would have liked. And just what did Matias know? How much was he keeping from her with that goofy, idiot exterior? Oh gods, all she wanted was to kiss him, maybe tell him just what she was feeling right now, but she supposed he was probably not the best person to be talking to about gushy emotional stuff.
Once she saw that his eyes were closed she decided to take a chance. Quiet as the night that was creeping coldly into the cave, Selia edged herself along the wall further towards him. She settled just next to him. Not so close as to make things uncomfortable, but close enough to rouse some sort of suspicion she supposed. For a few seconds she looked at her feet, twitched her toes decidingly and stretched again casually as though nothing out of the ordinary had happened. Just yawn like it never even went on. Then she turned her eyes slightly to Matias, his lovely arms curved up behind his head as he rested. His smirk was hot as it ever was.
"Could I tell you something?" Selia looked down once more before continuing, regardless of whatever his answer to the question may have been. "No-one's ever really said anything nice about me. In fact, the only compliments I ever gotten before were from greasy old bastards who used me for their own purposes." Selia shuddered visibly. Obviously she had stirred up some horrid memories. As she went on her hand went and rested suconciously on his leg, a gesture she had not intended as anything more then a comfort for herself, as she held his hand and cried that time just before he woke up. "Its hard to think of. And now, its kind of hard to believe that I'm here right now, with such a fun guy....you're actually awake. I guess I can say I kind of missed you while you were off in never never land."
And suddenly she realized the placement of her hand and almost died inside. The girl's mouth went dry and she went to pull it away, finding that she couldnt though, her mind didnt want her to. [grrr]ing [grrr], what a time for a brain-fart. Just go with it, just roll with the whole thing. Its kind of obvious now isnt it? You like him, heck, maybe even more then like him. You enjoy his company a lot. I think both of you can agree that the nights can get pretty cold and lonely. Whats better then to snuggle up against someone. It doesnt have to mean anything. Selia looked at the hand on Matias's leg and groaned in her head.
'Oh but it does.'

Matias let a single laugh out as Selia finished her own smart ass reply, it was going to get annoying sometimes knowing that he was going to have to compete to be the more smart ass one of the two. Oh well, a little competition never hurt. He though he had an idea of what Selia had been thinking about when she looked him over, And she calls ME the perv. Selia had changed quite a bit from the time he met her. First she was a timid little fool, and now she was just about as sarcastic and powerful he was. It's amazing what power can do to people.
Selia had done a good job of sneaking over to him, he hadn't even noticed that she moved until he heard her voice come from only just beside him. Fatigue must have been setting in again, his senses were starting to wane again. One eye snapped open again to look at Selia and he laughed inwardly. Those 'subtle' hints of hers were getting more and more conspicuous ever minute. When she turned to look at him he quickly shut his golden eye and pretended as if he were still clueless. It was going to be hilarious when she found out that he knew pretty much the entire time that she had the hots for him. The very thought of her reaction made him want to burst out laughing, but fortunately he held that laugh in.
"You're gonna tell me whether I wanna hear it or not." He wasn't at all surprised when she kept going on in her explanation. Told ya. During the time she was speaking he just let out a lazy yawn, Soooooooo damn tired "Well, if anyone tries to mess with ya now, they'll end up gettin' our claws in their throat. "
It was after speaking those words that he noticed Selia's hand on his leg. This made him laugh out loud, he knew that it was just one of Selia's comfort habits, but he couldn't help but find it funny. Both eyes opened and he turned his head to look at the embarrassed girl beside him, there was a fake look of curiosity flitting across his golden eyes. "Okay, Sel. Now I KNOW there's somethin' you wanna tell me."

Hand on his leg, hand on his leg. He's just playing you, Sel. He knows more then he's letting off, he's leading you on, teasing you. So tease him back, make him want you. All these things seemed to swirl evilly in her head. She contemplated, thought through it, but could not banish the nervous buzz in her stomache, the butterflies haphazardly flapping about. He talks as though he knows it all, but dosnt know anything. Selia was becoming confused. What to do? What to do? Come on Selia, where has anyone ever gotten without taking a chance? Its not or never isnt it?
Selia continued to stare at the hand placed on his leg, calculated something to herself then looked back up to his face, swallowing all her fear. Again, now or never. A smirk flitted across her lips, almost promising of things to come. Get ready big boy, cause it was her turn to turn the tables. 'Okay, Sel. Now I KNOW there's somethin' you wanna tell me.' Oh of course there is. Selia felt her heart pounding like a jackhammer on her ribcage, and in her throat. Even though she was not on her feet, she could feel the weakness in her knees and joints, the heavy feeling.
Brown eyes were suddenly steady on his own. Make your move. She continued to smirk, a temptress smirk, something dark and sexy. Her hand stayed on his leg, and she gave it a little squeeze, almost reassuringly. Lets establish this now, I like you, and you probably like me back, so there. "Okay, to be brutally honest, there IS something I want to tell you, and really bad. But I'd really rather not say it." She blushed. "I'd rather show you." And with that her body shifted forwards a bit.
One hand gripped his leg while the other planted onto his chest, almost pressing him back. Her face tilted slightly, eyes closed in detirmination, and before she really knew it, she felt the warmth of his lips against her own, her own body tingling in response. It may have lasted only a few moments, but it felt as though it was an etirnity. And finally the girl pulled away, but just barely, lingering close to him. Her heart was hammering like crazy, rushin with the extra dose of adrenaline. The warmth spread down to her legs, and belly, a hot fire. Selia said nothing, just basked in the afterglow. "Much better then had I had just told you," she said with a slight giggle.

He wasn't entirely sure why he was keeping his knowing of the situation a secret. Also, he wasn't entirely sure why he was keeping his feelings about Selia a secret. She deserved to know didn't she? They were going to be living and traveling with one another through the centuries after all. Well, just what should I do? That question was put out of his head for now, there'd be plenty of time to ask himself that later. What caused that thought to be shoved out of his brain was Selia's sudden smirk. Just a moment ago she had been practically a nervous wreck...and now she was smirking. As if I don't know what she's thinkin' about.
Even though he had a gut feeling just what this girl was thinking about, he wasn't entirely sure just what she was going to do. Despite this, he probably wouldn't mind what ever the hell it was she was planning in that sick little head of hers.
He continued to just sit there with a smirk of his own. Unlike Selia, he wasn't nervous in the least. He just let out a lazy yawn and let Selia sit there, hand on his leg, and nervous as hell. There was a certain change in the girl that he had not really expected. First, she seemed nervous and shaky, and now she seemed to be teasing him...and not in the way that 4 year olds teased each other.
When her eyes looked up at him he looked right back at her, straight in the eyes. The sudden look in her eyes and the smirk that new smirk that flitted across her lips made him think just how many times her mood was going to change in 30 seconds.
"Aww, come on. You can tell me anything." This was said in, of course, a sarcastic manner. "Say what now?" Well, this kind of caught him off guard to say the least.
It was rather forceful the way that she pushed him back against the wall. His eyes widened steadily as she became closer and closer to him. It may have caught him off guard for a few seconds, but he didn't mind at all what came after that sudden shock. The second their lips met his stomach all of a sudden felt like it was doing flips and it felt like a lump was in his throat. This explains everything. His reaction was more or less the same as Selia's. It felt like their lips were together for an eternity before she finally pulled away, the tingling sensation was even present as well.....weird.
He didn't say a word, he couldn't. It was as if she had stolen his voice during their kiss. Oh well. It was surprising that he could muster up enough resolve to move towards her. Once again he felt the warmth of her lips against his. Well....this was certainly a strange day.
