Méav wrung her hands together nervously as she was watching the
decoy girl turn into the raven. The real girl seemed to jump
from the rafters, and out through the door, followed by the
squawking raven. Instinctively, the girl grabbed for
her small weapon in case of a surprise attack, but when the
duo dissapeared quite instantly, she was interrupted
by a voice at her ear. She whipped around, facing a single
authorative figure, and felt her stomach drop to her toes.
"I'm fine," she replied in an exasperated tone, though
gingerly stepping three feet away from him. "I don't need a
bodyguard! And that..." Méav paused for a moment, thinking
quickly. "That man was killed by a girl who came in and disrupted
everything, though she escaped through that door," said she,
nodding vigorously, though she felt her fingers ball into fists
angrilly. She was wondering why she was covering up for the
man who called himself Testis, the murderer. All in all, she was
glad that silly annoying wench fled away from here. She was
definitely not about to go after the brat.
Suddenly, a sound like that of thunder echoed outside of the
coffee shop. Méav groaned and turned around at the spot.
Hundreds of people were outside, shouting and whistling
energetically. Many were shouting 'Méav!' over and over,
quite excitedly, yet there were more peace-keepers holding
the crowd back, though with difficulty.
"Time to go, I think," Méav mumbled. "Rrrgh. No exit. Bad day,
bad day, bad day!"
There was nowhere to go now, at least not with the city
police here, all over the damn place. The girl looked around at
Dameon and Testis, pleading with her eyes for them to
do something, though she didn't have any idea with what
they could do. She hated being in positions like these.
Oh, contradiction! Now that her identity was uncovered, it
was very hard for her to do anything, like making an escape
that included violence. She wasn't strong-minded when exposed
like this, in front of all these people. Doing such would greatly
shame her and her parents. Not to mention, put a terrible
mark on her reputation.
Méav thought of the man that fell dead at her feet. Though her
identity was exposed then, she had a right to protect herself
from him. She would not transmit violence among these people
unless she had an excellent reason to do so.
