oOc| aw, too bad Kaoru... your bomb post was such a beautiful post, too. very dramatic... “Well, there’s someone who doesn’t lack in self-confidence.”
Khalid, with her driver behind her, had just come upon the criminals. They appeared unalarmed and unhurt by the flare. Khalid sighed; she supposed she had overestimated the power of the flare, and underestimated the daring of the fugitives. All her concerns for naught. She leaned against a big metal vent on the roof and cocked her eyebrow at the criminals. “You all have led me on a merry chase,” she informed them. “I haven’t had exercise like that in months. But don’t think I’m a cop or anything. Believe it or not, I’m on your side. Although,” she added under her breath, “I can hardly say why.” She stood up straight and walked leisurely towards the fugitives. “So, now that you’ve done the craziest driving I’ve ever seen, lost your motorcycle, blown up a great many cars and innocent bystanderes into smithereens, flew up a tall building, and got your booty” she nodded to the drunk, who seemed to be recovering slowly, “and insulted the cops, what exactly are you going to do now? The way I see it, you’re sitting ducks up here. Sure, you can fly some more, tease the police some more, slaughter a few innocents some more, but where are you going to go? Because these city cops aren’t going to stop until they’ve got you.” She glanced at Gage, who nodded. She resumed her little speech. “Best thing is, in my opinion, is get out of the city. Rest a while…maybe a few years. Maybe by then tonight’s fiasco will have been…not forgotten, per se, but faded. What do you say? We happen to be heading there ourselves. And who knows,” here Khalid shrugged nonchalantly, “a giant ant in the company might be useful.”

Zatheena glanced at Rave, and moved toward the edge as well, curious as to what he was looking at. She glanced down, and took a half step back, preparing her reflexes should it be the worst, but when it exploded, turning out to be a mere flare, she instinctly shielded her face with her arms, her golden band about her upper arm reflecting the bright light of the flare and shining outwards, a bright glare. What were the intentions of whomever had shot the flare? It hadn't done any harm to them at all. She dropped her arms, and watched as Rave did his victory dance. Perhaps she might've danced as well, yet she didn't, why not one couldn't tell.
She turned, a slight scowl, and perhaps anoyance on her face, and looked down at Monet. About then did Khalid, soon followed by Gage. She frowned, raising a slight brow. "Our side, huh? We can fen' fo' ou'selves," she said, more in an aggrivated tone. "Who exactl' ar' yo'?" she questioned, "An', why th' muck were yo' following us?" she questioned. Most of what Khalid said slipped in one ear and out the other. At the mention of, 'got your booty,' and the nod towards Monet, she glanced down at Monet briefly then back at Khalid, and almost scowled.
"Lea'e th' city? Ar' yo' kiddin'?" she questioned. She had been in the city her whole life, and survived pretty much on her own, that is until Rave got her from that damn gang. That was nine years ago. She and Rave had been in the city for nine years, surviving all kinds of stuff, as bad as this and a few times it had been worse, and she was telling them they should leave? She and Rave would get out of this just as easily as they had all the other circumstances, she was sure. Besides, she found these chases rather fun and amusing, not that she'd deliberately go getting on the police's nerves, though she'd been close to doing so on purpose a couple times in the past.
She reached her hand up to flick some of her, thick, black curly hair over her shoulder, it having come across when she'd turned. She placed her hands on her hips, cocking her hip out to the side slightly, putting most of her weight on her left leg, and let out a sigh. She had to admit that right now she really just wanted to be on the dance floor, raving to a nice beat, and maybe even glowsticking. She hadn't been able to do that in a while. She shrugged, pushing that aside from her thoughts for now.
She glanced at Rave, then back at Khalid, waiting for the girl's answers. She still didn't trust her, even if she claimed to be on 'their side'. She perhaps would later, but not now.

"Holy hell!" were Rave's first few shouted words as the ant-girl approached into their midst. He opened and closed his mouth, utterly too flummoxed to speak. When he did find the right words, he tried changing his expression so that he looked airy and relaxed, though couldn't help but to have his knees knocking a bit. Strange for someone who could murder a whole bunch of people at once, fly up a five-hundred story building, and yet be scared of a girl.
"Well, uh, on our side. Yeah, uh, sure." He airily waved his arms, shaking his head from side to side in what he thought was his casual demeanor. "Oh, so... Uhm... Ha ha, you were an ant, hm? Oh. I thought, uhm... you were... a scorpion or something..." He waltzed breezily over towards Zatheena, to which he'd grab her by the arm and pull her close to him simply the better to whisper into her ear. Leaning over, he indeed whispered loud enough for Zee's ears only, "That girl is bald," he whispered solemnly, clinging onto Zee's arm like a curious child that didn't know any better.
Clearing his throat, he'd release her, and look up as innocently as he could at Khalid, now hearing her proposal of moving on. "Are you fo'real, move outta this city? Hell no! This be my home, and fo' as long as them cops chased me and Zee, they never caught us. I ain't worried." Though at first he was afraid, he steadily became a bit more cocky. "Why don't you go, back to your colony?" He folded his arms across his bare chest, brows lofted and eyes narrowed - though nobody could see his eyes, for they were still obscured by his lovely shades - and to top it all, he smirked.

Nothing was really happening on ground level. There were ambulances coming to help the injured people, but other than that, the police seemed to not be reacting. Eagle wondered what was happening atop the building bitterly. Too bad she couldn't see. She couldn't fly. She was, how you say, a normal person. Keeping an eye on the police, she looked into the building's window, curious if any of the people inside had noticed that they had a few criminals upon their roof. A lot of them had ran, but that may have been due to the explosion. The building was pretty much empty. Sighing, all Eagle could do was wait. Her gaze returned to the policemen, her look being one of innocent curiosity.

Monet stirred a little bit as seconds ticked on by on the clock. She finally had woken up and opened up her luminous pink opticals to see a dark world where fumes blew up to the skies and gun shots filled her ears. She lifted her upper part of her body using her arms as she placed a hand atop of her head. She had a horrible headache going on and the many loud sounds around her were not helping her at all.
She looked around to see a dark figure at the end of the building yelling at the people below and making suggestive movements. She cocked her head slightly. Closer to her stood a girl talking to someone else. She stirred slightly. She thought for a moment that she was hallucinating. She didn't remember being a top of a building at all. Her long droopy ears (kind of like a canines) twitched slightly as a breeze brushed past her.
Monet decided to finally get up. She lifted herself up onto her wobbly legs and held her head as she was getting dizzy. She looked around with those unnaturally pink eyes having part of them hidden behind the bleached blonde and black hair of hers. She mumbled to herself. "[grrr]...." then she finally said something. "where am i?" it was one of the most cliched questions any drunk would say after passing out. She crosed her arms slightly atop of her zip-up hoodie rubbing her arms slightly as she was cold. a look of young innocence can be seen on her facial expressions. She looked quite young. She looked 19 but in reality was 21. She had a sweet soft look as she wished for an answer.

Zatheena glanced at Rave when he began speaking, or rather stuttering over his words. She raised a slight brow, her arms folded across her chest, what was with him all of a sudden, she was rather curious. A scorpion? She scowled, he'd lost it, and she gave a slight snort, holding back a laugh. She turned her gaze back to Khalid, and as she did so, Rave suddenly gripped her arm, pulling her arms from their folded position so that one fell to her side and the other was being gripped by Rave.
She frowned, about to pull her arm from his grasp when he whispered in her ear. 'That girl is bald,' he had said, and she sighed, not really caring. "Rave," she started, yet stopped when he released her and began to speak himself, to Khalid. She folded her arms once more, perhaps from habit that anything else. He said exactly what she had been thinking, that is about leaving the city, and so she simply said nothing.
He finished by telling her to go back to her colony. She snorted once more, giggling slightly, yet regained a straight face, watching Khalid, wondering the ant-girl's response. Yet her attention was drawn away from Khalid, by Monet.
She turned, looking at the girl, and actually the woman was older than herself, though she didn't know it. Her ears twitched when she spoke and she glanced at Rave before turning her gaze back to Monet. "Yo' are on a marble buildin', near whe'e yo' [grrr]in' passed out and caused mos' of this," she stated, answering the question. She reached up a hand to push her shades up her nose, as they'd slipped slightly, her face being covered in sweat, though she ignored it.

By the time Dober had reached the door that led to the roof, his jaw had partially opened to allow his tongue to hang from his muzzle in a steady pant. Somewhere along the way he had lost his bike helmet, something he could go back and retrieve later. Right now there was work to be done. The door was closed but had a good drift of air blowing in around the sides, meaning it wasn't exactally air-tight. He moved closer to the door and stuck his nose against the crack, taking a moment to shift through the scents that suddenly exploded in his sences. With the door closed, even his hearing only picked up muffled voices from the other side, but the smell of the flare gun's powder had worked like a charm. The powder from the flare clung to it's victim and mixed in with their own scent, heightening it with a hint of ashy residue that reminded him of a burning yule log.
Dober stepped back and put away his badge, not that he needed it any more anyway. With his free hand he pulled out another gun from the pouch on his belt. Now armed with a pistol and one of the standard units' upgraded tech weapon, he felt he was prepared. He stepped back, pulled up both weapons, and rammed the door open with his foot, causing the door to swing open and bash against it's holdings. As soon as it did, Dober lept out onto the roof, wielding both guns and pointing in the general direction of where they were all standing.
"Police, don't anybody move!!" Dober's eyes flicked over the scene as he was trained to do, noticing that none of them posessed a weapon, at least none that were visible. After checking for weapons, Dober was able to study more of the scene, such as the odd collection of people that were standing on the roof. Although he himself was an odd sight, not only being a hybrid but claiming to be a police officer while wearing nothing but rugged looking jeans and no jacket to boot.

Khalid's eyes narrowed as she heard both Rave's and Zatheena's responses, including Rave's insult to going back to her "colony." "You're being very unreasonable about this," she said. "I somehow disbelieve you have ever done any crime at such a large scale as this...or that, even now, you can escape and remain untracked and unidentified, while you're just standing on the top of a building and the police are coming--" She was cut off by Gage's sudden cry of, "Look out!" Khalid whirled around, cursing under her breath. What she saw was the same cop who had shot at her six times before. He was a Doberman pinscher-human hybrid, commonly dressed, but Khalid knew that he meant business. The weapons in his hands didn't help matters either. And she somehow knew that he was the one who shot the flare after all. They were in some trouble now. He warned them not to move. Khalid regretted that; she would be able to turn ant and defend herself and the others, if only she weren't wearing clothes! She quickly calculated the time it would take her to tear off her clothes and transform against the time it would take the cop to shoot her. She would be dead, or heavily wounded at least, in seconds. Not a risk she planned on taking. Besides, she would regret revealing her identity as the giant ant--although she suspected this particular cop already knew. There was one other alternative, of course..."I'm sorry to get you into this," she murmured to Gage.
"'Sbeen the most excitin' 'venture as I've ever had," Gage replied, smiling a little. "Well worth spendin' some time in jail for." He correctly interpreted the look Khalid had given him. In a much softer voice, he said, "I'm ready," and bent his knees a little in preparation.
Khalid transformed. Although she was the same size as an ant as she was as a human, her clothes were torn because of the drastically different shapes the two forms were. Khalid fell forward, on all sixes, so to speak, kicking off the useless sandals from her back feet, although the trenchcoat was still draped over much of her body. She took a few steps towards the gun-wielding cop, flexing her mandibles, ready to deliver the poisonous bite. She knew she would be shot, and she knew it would hurt, but she hoped to bite him in order to slow him down considerably. Fire ant poison at a small scale was bad enough; from an ant as large as Khalid, it would be almost (but not quite) lethal.
The moment Khalid changed, Gage ran behind her, motioning to Rave, Zee, and Monet wildly with his arms. "Whereva you decide to go, we've gotta get away from here now!" he yelled at them. "She'll distract 'im, so get outta here!"

Rave's self-assertive and unflagging energy sustained enthusiastic action up until now, when he was about to retort angrilly at Zatheena and the distinguishingly benevolent woman Khalid, about leaving the city when he had been an attentive trouble-maker all his life - and yet had never been captured by authority. "You just don't understand," he growled, following Zee's example and crossing his arms over his bare chest and walking back and forth as if contemplating.
The city were his and Zee's playground, and always have been for many years ever since they found out they had a particular kind of power within themselves. They used it for good or ill...
Suddenly, a shout was clearly heard, at least it was not ignored; a doberman pinscher came into view, clearly ready to fire as two guns were pointed at the odd congregation of people. Rave felt his heart do a few somersaults as his adrenaline started coursing through his veins, exciting him for a fresh battle with his unremitting nemesis: the Thor Police.
However, there was only one police officer posing to fire. Dober didn't wear a badge to display his identity as a cop. This made Rave laugh some - but as he observed the solitairy cop, the young man could have shouted aloud. Striked with great surprise and emotional disturbance, Rave tore off his shades to reveal his purple and goldenrod yellow eyes again, and simply stared at awe at the doberman pinscher.
"D... Dober?"
His mouth simply gaped wide open, baffled; slowly recovering from his shock. But he did speak, albeit slowly and cautiously, for he obviously knew Dober in some way or fashion - perhaps from a time many a year ago. "God, it is you. Well well, Dober," said Rave, returning back to his old cocky self. "Look where we ended up. You standin' there, gun an' all that shit, well... ready to kill me if you needed to. So you that dog that had been chasin' me like a cat, you n' your pack . If you be truly who you say you are."
Though he was ordered not to move, Rave did so anyway. Very carefully as he stepped over, like a man trying to coax an animal to not be afraid. But Rave had already planned; he didn't need telling twice from Khalid, but he wasn't going to go anywhere just yet. For the moment, he was unaware that Khalid had transformed. Rave looked directly at Dober's face, his eyes flashing, though obscuring hidden danger.
"You don't wanna kill us, Dober," said he, his throaty voice apparent.

Despite his stiff training, Dober nearly dropped both weapons in surprise at the sound of his name, not because he was shocked Rave knew who he was, but because he recognised the one known as Rave. He paused a moment, in shock before giving a small shake of his head, regaining his sence of duty. "A gun doesn't have to kill to stop it's target."
"We're not pups anymore Rave..." Dober righted his aim and readied the pistol with a small click, earlier on he hadn't planned on using that one at all. "...I've got a job to do."
The pistol in his left hand was pointed at Khalid, thinking that if it didn't kill her before, it might stop her with a few well-placed rounds this time around. At this range it wasn't too difficult to aim either. The other weapon, which had the look of a gun but more sleek and up to date with it's technology, was locked on Rave.

Zatheena moved her arms down, so that her hands were resting on her hips. She glanced at Khalid briefly, but ignored most of what the ant-girl said. She didn't care for leaving, and she wouldn't. When Gage shouted, she heard it, but her gaze was already on the spot where Dover stood. She had seen him before, when she and Rave had been on the truck, yet hadn't really gotten a good look at him, nor paid much attention.
She eyed Dober, standing there with his guns, and in her mind was calculating what would happen if she were to draw her pistols, tucked in her belt. How it'd turn out if she used them, and her likeliness of getting shot. Her fingers moved slightly, and she gripped her pistols, still not drawing them. She was confident they'd get out of this, and wasn't worried, nor was she nervous. She then paused, her eyes turning toward Khalid who had transformed once more.
She didn't need Gage to tell her anything, nor did she really listen when he shouted at both she and Rave. Her attention was on Dober, and it seemed that indeed Khalid had distracted him, at least for a moment. Perhaps she could use the distraction differently, instead of running, she could use one of her pistols, perhaps. If she were really going to, she'd have to be swift, for she was sure Dober wouldn't be slow about shooting at her, and she didn't want to be hit by any bullets.
Ears twitched and she turned her gaze toward Rave, he was speaking. She stood there a moment, slightly confused. A brow raised slightly. Dober? She glanced at Dober, then back at Rave, and her mind easily figured out that Rave and Dober knew each other from somewhere in their pasts, and obviously it had been before she had met Rave. She wondered exactly where in time, and thought of what the coincidence this was, that they'd meet again, except the circumstances were quite different.
She grinned, Dober didn't have a gun pointed at her, that left her more open, although she knew Dober could easily change who he was pointing his gun at. She waited a moment, thinking maybe the police hybrid's reaction would work to their advantage, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. She had no idea if Dober would actually pull the trigger or not, and if so when that would be. She thought about using her psychic ability to get the guns away from Dober, then he'd be unarmed, and she didn't want to kill him, especially with the fact that Rave and he were linked in the past, and besides, she was sure that he wouldn't kill Rave.
She bit her lip, she didn't have much time to think and do stuff, she was sure more police would be arriving soon. She looked at the guns that Dober was holding, if he shot them, she could only hope for the best. In an instant, both her pistols were drawn, pointed at Dober, and her eyes lit with that fiery glow. As this happened, she used her psychic ability, and attempted to pull the guns from Dober's hands, and if nothing else, change the dirrection of the guns so that they pointed elsewhere than at the people on this building.

Monet looked at Zatheena like a cofused puppy when she spoke to her. Her accent confused her a bit but that was probably the alchohol still working on her. She looked past the building to see the black smoke fumes still going up. "Thats..... my fault?" She pointed at the fumes in the distance. Could she really of have been the cause of all this rucuse. Yep.
Before anyone could probably answer her question some seemed to had burst through the door of roof of the building. Doe-eyed expression was featured on her face. She was a deer stuck in the headlights. She at first they had come for her because, from what had heard, she was the cause of all these murders. She looked over and the saw the doberman pincher anthropomorphic human standing there with his two guns cocked and aimed at both Rave and the ant-girl.
Monet stood there quietly behind Rave and Zee and the ant-girl. She was now starting to get really pissed off..... She weaved herself around the 'bad guys' and walked over to Dober. She furrowed her brows and reached her hand back at first and then attempted to slap the doberman pincher. Now she started to yell at him. "Who do you think you are coming here with these guns?! Some sort of tough guy!? Why don't you march yourself back down those stairs and not come up agian?" A fiery glow burned within her unatural pink opticals. Something very bold for such a tiny girl.
ooc|| ahahahaa... monet is funny. i want to see dober's reaction to this. lirl.

Rashnu, this is so ridiculous! Khalid thought. Her antennae were twitching, and she was taking in the entire situation at once. Here was where they stood. Dober’s pistol was pointed at her; his other gun was pointed at Rave; and Zatheena had two guns out pointing at Dober himself. The drunken girl (apparently she had woken up), was yelling at Dober—what a fool. Khalid had lost track of Gage, but was sure that he was keeping himself safe. For a moment, Khalid was uncertain where things would go; they seemed to be at a stalemate. Dober couldn’t shoot without being shot himself, or bitten, depending on whether Khalid or Zee reached him first. The cop was greatly outnumbered, but probably would not stay so for very long. Reinforcements might come…in the meantime, who was going to make the first move? Who, indeed. If ants could smirk, Khalid would. But in any case, she coiled her legs together, and moved—but not directly towards Dober. She scuttled almost behind the Doberman pinscher cop, so that it would be impossible for him to keep both Rave and herself in his sights. From her new position, she rushed at him, hoping that he wouldn’t try to shoot an antenna off—that was her greatest weakness. Her mandibles opened wide to bite him—anywhere would do—as she approached quickly.
Gage figured they wouldn’t run. But it was worth a shot anyway. He, on the other hand, was not attached—emotionally or otherwise—to anyone here, so he could make his escape. Of course, he was the one here out of everyone who was in the least danger. The police, if they had noticed him at all, probably thought he was a hostage, not a criminal. He was, after all, just a cabbie. He quickly moved over to the door leading down to the rest of the building. Khalid didn’t need him anymore; he had his money; he could just leave the moment he was able to.
But then, several things happened at once.
Gage was aware of Khalid maneuvering around and then attacking the cop. He seized his chance and hurried toward the door. But before he could get there, it flew open, and to his shock and dismay, a whole team of cops came flooding out. They had their guns out and made to circle the group on the roof. One of them spotted Gage before he could react, and slapped handcuffs on him. “Hey, I’m not a criminal!” he protested. “I was just kidnapped by these—”
“Save it for the judge,” the cop returned icily, “Ye’ve got some explainin’ to do…” As Gage was hustled away from the scene, he caught one more glimpse of Khalid, her mandibles gaping wide and ready to chomp, and all the policemen hurrying towards the other fugitives, ready to arrest them all. It seemed that everything had suddenly gone wrong…

A muffled scream tried forcing it's way from his throat, but all that really came out was a scratchy "NO! STOP!" to the great ant girl. "This ain't your fight!"
Suddenly, all the cops came pouring out from the door that led to this building's roof. "Awe, fudge knuckles," Rave muttered, feeling his self-esteem punctured and his unflagging energy winding down to zero percent. "Why's this always happening to meee." He started moving his way to Zatheena, though one of the cops shouted for him to cease moving. Their guns looked alien to him; he's never seen anything quite like them - perhaps they were some new technology. Best not to meddle in riff raff that he didn't quite know about, if the reader may understand.
"We've cornered the fugative," one of them said through a futuristic-looking metal radio. "DON'T MOVE or I'LL FIRE!" he snarled, inching his way towards Rave. Three more followed him. Rave simply stood there, like a statue; impassive. He had so little time to think.
Think... think...

Eagle finally grew tired of just sitting around. Standing up, she turned and followed where she had seen the policemen disapear up the steps. Eagle followed them until she was at the top and paused, taking the opportunity to pull a knife out of her pocket. Holding it up to eye level, she winced slightly. Ya can't help much, Eagle, she thought, But perhaps ya can slow things down a tad. Eagle let her arm fall back to her side, and then tugged her shirt sleeve a bit further down. It would at least stop the sun from glinting off the blade. Stepping onto the roof, she blinked and tilted her head in almost an innocent way; as if she were just a bystander. "Hey now, what're ya all doin' up here? Ya know standin' on the top of a buildin' ain't the best idea, it's crazily easy to fall off." Eagle didn't reveal the knife yet, and just acted like she had no clue what was going on. Only that hidden tone in her voice gave away that what that was translated to was "run away 'fore I make ya." Eagle silently took in what was around her, still keeping on that she was bewildered and confused. The reason she didn't hide her knife fully was because she didn't care if they saw. If they saw, she'd spring into action. Eagle saw the guns, and inwardly swore. She should have realized that. Oh well, if she was shot she was shot. The fact that they held guns just lowered their status in Eagle's eye.
