In the older days, a prophecy forwarned of the coming of a deviouis heroine, and although her imtentions were of good, her ultimate outcome would spell disaster for the many innocents who aided her on her quest, and so, therfore, she was one to be wary of...
In the far reaches of time, In the days after the dark, In the brighter, where little evil will be spied, Hither forth from the mountains would come a fae, Born on the day of the Black Sun.
Beautiful of exotic patterns, she will seem, And iron willed to fully achieve her cause; And so, her downfall is ploted, And so many others with her, she will take"
...Thousands of whispers of wind raced across the gently churning of the surface of the beautiful, crystal-strewn blue tapestry of the life-giving great body of water as giant, lumbering heaps of cotton dragged across the bluist sky experienced. The many trees of multiple types swayed gently in the cool breaths of the Mother Nature, and tall, uneven grasses moved in sequence as the tides of the oceans. Snow melting here, already, and so brought the sparkling drips of water from the icicles, miniature stalagtiteson the larger limbs of the towers of wood covered in bark. Glistening sprinkles, equivilant in every way to the diamond-strewn lake, played tricks in the grass, seemingly disappearing before anyone could get a good look. Many tweets and whistles, from the vocals of many glorius, or not so glorius, birds and wild fowl, flying in and out of the trees and bushes of holly berries. And the sun gleamed brightly and cheerily, bathing the below world in light that drowned out the stars of morning, and hid the moon far away in the morning sky that had been looked upon for so many ages. Long legged and swift-footed, glides a large form out from the treeling, from behind a large bush. It was lanky, and tall, having a naturally sleek design of the head and body. Gray, it was, and of the female gender, with red and black markings. Streamline, almost, were the streaks of black tipped, gray fur that ran along her sides and legs, and the marking of her slender muzzle was a pure black circular shape with dark, grainy red radiating out from it. Her eyes themselves, were pupils that resembed balck holes, black and red. Of course, all this did not go unnoticed, and she was conveniantly named BlakWhole. To others, it was Blackhole, but she prefered to put her own twist on it.
Sure-footed through the shoreline sand of the beach, she ran out to stand and survey on the clear. She saw no one, smelled only but faint wolf smells, and a peaceful smile crossed her maw. Her long, lanky legs held her fast, and her slender, but strong muscles stood without the slightest sign of fatigue or weariness. Black hole eyes scanned, and long tail swayed slightly side to side, the white tag at the end contrasting her grays and reds and browns and blacks. Greatly, she nodded with and lazy slowness, dragged herself to a rock and laid herself across it onto it's bit of warmth. She kept her head up though, and legs under her and not spread out to put her in a defenseless position. As life was her main concern, she restrained herself from completely dozing off, knowing that sometimes Nature had other plans for her than lounging in the spring sun in the cool breeze on a warm rock. Large, rather jackal like ears stood erect, and swiveled at the peaceful, calming sounds of tweeting birds. Then, yawned a wolfish yawn, she did, mouth opening and tongue lolling out, ears laying themselves back. Oh, lazy days are so rare but fun.

(ooc:I will do my best. )
The morning gave Scraps a new feeling of a new start. He headed off into the distance to search for a companion, a friend anyone to keep him company. A bit more confident then he had been in ages but he was still quite nervous and weary. Unsure of how other wolves would treat him. His old pack frequently attacked him , his own brother the alpha doing the worst damage. It was too much and so Scraps left.Pain was all poor Scraps knew and got from other wolves. His body clearly showed it , he had bite marks down his back, neck,on his legs, and on his face. The scars had been healed, re opened, and healed over again as he continouly got bitten by his pack mates. He was now free from that but he wasn't free from lonliness, he was still a wolf ,a social creature that needed other wolves. So he searches for another wolf.. The beaten wolf had continued to follow the eastern border of the lake. He was startled to see another wolf dozing off near the lake ,at that second he became a nervous wreck. Scraps' first instinct was to turn the other way. He was very weary of other wolves ,his only experience with them was his abusive, brutal pack. A part of him told him to leave immediately while the other side told him to stay. Which one to follow? So far the "leaving" side was winning out , but he didn't want to leave just yet. Not without giving the other wolf and himself a chance but he didn't want to approach her just yet either. He sat on his haunches wondering what to do ,his ears twitching back and forth. He stood there in that spot deciding what to do. His instincts arguing over one another. "Should he approach or should he go the other way?"
(how was that?)

The bird call was phantom-like, echoing eerily through the woods near the lake's edge, a two-note whistle. It was quiet, but the only tune that was exuded from the dark evergreens, and so, much more noticeable. But the call was followed by a burst of other avian trills, the fluttering of wings and swoosh of movement heralding the departure of an entire flock. They had been disturbed from their rossting by a carnivorous presence. A wolf, to be sure. His prowling was not conspicuous, but a small, careless mistake had left the birds in a panic. The mere snapping of a tiny twig under a soft paw, and they were off, paranoid in their own bird-brained ways. He snickered softly at this, eyes narrowing, gleaming as if carved of jet, then rimmed with a marble ring. That outer whiteness often disturbed other wolves he met, but Anubis was not the type to care much about opinions on his own appearance. His legs carried him swiftly, silently, through the remainder of the woods, brining him into view of the shimmering lake, surveying its reflective surface with something close to disdain. The male shuffled his paws, golden clasps around his forelegs clinking dangerously. A flicker of movement caught his attention, head automtically swerving in its direction. His nose lifted, large auditives perked. Two other wolves lounged ahead of him, and his curiosity sparked. Another few swift lopes, and the large, jackal-like wolf was within speaking distance. Anubis surveyed both canines, then reclined, haunches folding neatly beneath his thin body. Though new to Shinkou, he knew enough not to approach mere strangers without first gauging their reaction and power. Both strangers seemed pretty docile, but one could never tell. And, besides, neither of them looked capable of equalling him in battle. This, of course, was his own personal assumption. You really never could tell, after all...

Sun was high, bathing all below. Blakwhole yawned again, and stretched out a bit more. A strange scent entered her slim nose at the tip of a slender muzzle, as her tail flickered behind her.Her ears perked more, at the faint sound of light, light footfall. They say foxes had good hearing, but she could here things so faint it would make a fox go "What?" She lifted her head slowly, lazily almost, gazing through half-closed eyes at the wolf that stood before her... He looked like a runt, all beaten up, scarred and mangled and had been abused. She tilted her head at the sight of him, and smiled softly and unthreateningly. She didn't want to scare him, so it was just a lip-smile, no teeth showing. Her teeth actually were big, as was she, large and almost an inch and a quarter. Almost everything about her was in some slight way disproportional. Legs long and almost exetremely lanky and thin, giving her the appearance of a maned wolf to some degree. Her muzzle was as long as a large jackal's --or it seemed so-- and just as slender. Ears were big, and pricked, as big proportionally as a fennec's. She could have just as easily been called Patchwork, but instead she was named rather for the way the sun shone when she was born. It was black, and had a red border. It looked like the way that blackholes were decribed by the dreamers and prophets. That was why she was named Blakwhole. It also meant she was very whole, by herself, and with others, very adapt to many tasks like fishing and hunting and especially stalking --She was a masterpeice of nature. Her smile held as she spoke softly with rythm. A lot of rythm and thought were in her words, and they were all pronounced correctly. Some say she had the gift of the silver tongue, but who knows?
"Good day," she began, "Are thou seeking a friend to protect thyself from whatever has done this to thee? Or perhaps, young one, thou are wishing just plain company?"
And so she paused for a second, then opened her mouth as if to speak. Though she stopped before any sound came out, as her eyes followed another jackal-like wolf, though more jackal-like than her. She watched him carefully, and spoke again, the words still soft, but loud enough to hear, "And so thy enter my life, just as the other. And so thou shall come to the descision: To stay or to go? I, too, would like some accompaniment near this lonely blue tapestry of sewn-diamond seeds. So..." She looked from the jackal to the other, "Have thee come to thy descision?"

Scraps' ears continued to twitch back and forth, it was almost like a habit. He listened to the other wolf's voice as she talked to him. The first time in a while someone had talked to him in a calm tone. His pack mates always had anger or threats when talking to him. He stepped a little closer to the jackal-like wolf and replied in a nervous tone. "Hello, I come in search of a companion. I left my old pack, they didn't treat me like one of their own.Instead they treated my like an outcast in my own family. Even my brothers ripped into me for what reason I never knew and I guess I never will. My name is Scraps by the way, what is yours? What is your history?" the nervous wolf asked.

The large male watched with bitter amusment as the abused wolf attempted to be friendly, but the friendliness was the nervous kind that one associated with a bully victim. Because this particular figure was non-threatening, Anubis stepped forward, regaining his full height as he stood up, long limbs stretching automatically. His long talons dug mild trenches in the soft sandy shore, bringing his silent, almost foreboding presence nearer to the strangers. Jawline extends a little as a cynical smile graces his stoic expression; the female's words are worded in an unfamiliar cadence that momentarily throws him off balance, but is soon decoded. Vocals slid between his jaws, hissing past gleaming white teeth that were mildly stained in a natural way. You could put it that way. I stay as long as I wish; depart when I deem it necessary. His eyes flickered towards Scraps, merely ignoring the inquiry about his past and family. It was none of the runt's business. And though Anubis looked down on Scarps' obvious lack of self-confidence, he acknowledged that there was always a chance the meek wolf's pride could be rebuilt. I am Anubis. Again the strange, rumbling voice lashed out, patterned with little emotion.

Blakwhole leaned to the side and scratched her big ears with her hindpaw. She didn't have to lean back much, as her leg was long. She yawned again, then stood up and stretched. Her hind and forelegs stiffened as she did, curving her back inwards and her entire upper body against the ground. He rump was in the air, and her long, sweeping black, gray, and white tail flickered in the air. She brought herself up a little too fast and wavered, but stood okay. "I've been named Blakwhole. Very nice to meet thee." she smiled as she spoke, and stepped down slowly off of the rock onto the sand. It was soft underpaw, and she seemed not to sink into it too much. Blakwhole twitched her ears to listen for any more oncoming wolves, and heard only birds and the ssounds of the water against the sand. After her momentary pause, she walked forward toward the one who was called Scraps, and studied him, the way he stood. She could see his fear, so she smiled softly, and stood nonthreateningly. She bowed slightly, just to humor him, and swayed her long tail, but not so to consider it a wag. She woofed a soft little welcome woof, and let her tongue lol out of her mouth. The sun was higher... The heat more intense... She strretched out some more at their level, between them almost, and then sighed and turned to the other, studying him, too. She smiled softly and woofed another welcome, and then said in commonspeach; "I thank you both for coming... Perhaps we can do something?"
Body language, another commonspeech of the wolves. She stood lightly, alert on long limbs high off the ground. She stood about a pace high at the shoulder... She trotted back past them, and came around on Scraps side, sniffing his scent a bit more, then the others... Besides the obvioous on Scraps' part, they seemed both in good health... But it might not have been so. A strange idea hit her, just then... 'What about a pack.....?' she thought to herself, 'what if we form a pack...or something close to it... More peaceful for the poor runt, nice and relaxed... But feirce in protection of kin and land and love...' She thought about it, but spoke no words to the others... She'd get to know them, first.

The mangled wolf watched as the jackal-like wolf examined him. Though he was still nervous his confidence was growing. He was no longer being bullied, ripped into, or forced to run for his life. This gave him a chance to want to show what he was made of. That if given the chance he could show he wasn't a weak, cowardice wolf. His torn left ear laid flat on his head as his right ear twitched around like a radar dish.He scanned the other wolf who called himself Anubis. A formidable wolf was he, large ,and so serious looking. He then replied to Blakholes' question.
"A pack? You wouldn't mind me being a part of your pack? A beaten runt like me? I'd love to be a part of a pack again ,I promise I won't be a burden. Also you don't have to go too easy on me, I could probably use some toughness, just don't treat me an outcast. "

Anubis watched the proceedings impassively, large body slowly settling in a sitting position beneath the shadow of a mammoth boulder that protruded out of the water, sunken into the sand with years of time. His dark coloring made it hard to distinguish his features, but his continued to peer at both Blakwhole and Scraps with glittering dark eyes. His attention wavered betwixt them, but lingered on the female, because she was much more confident, a natural leader, it seemed. She was comfortable and conversational, easily sliding into speech that involved them both. An ear flicked, the ring that pierced it glinting in the noontime sunlight. Suddenly Scarps burst into speech, and started bablbing about a pack. Anubis stiffened, stoic expression marred with annoyance, then quickly settled back into nothing, merely gazing at the other male. What is this you speak of? He glanced towards Blakwhole, eyes narrowe din a small expression of confusion.

Blakwhole's expression was calm, almost sage-like in it's way. Her eyes seemed relaxed, her face thoughtless. Her eyes were open, but neither wide nor narrow. Ears did swivel, yes, but not nervously. Instead casually she listened. The birds made their songs, the bugs their buzz, and the wind its calming howl. The ocean's shushing was peotic, rythmatic. Scraps question reached her ears, and hse smiled softly. She worried not how he heard her question, so she answered quite simply. Well, it was simple for her, but not for them. She spoke strangely, in Old CommonSpeech. It was very rare to hear now, and to add to the point, it was foreogn almost, from a very isolated pack in a basin in the mountains. So, she tried her best with commonspeech, but that did not do too well.
"A pack.." she began, "Would be very nice, but I am afraid that I do not know thee well, and I cannot allie myself with a potentially fell companion..." As she spoke the last phrase, she thought of the dark wolf in the corner. He was very withdrawn, she collected, and she'd need some time to discover his morals and intentions....
She yawned again, and leaned on her haunches. She smiled, and repeated her previously spoken question; "Doth th-" she hesitated, "Do you know what to do? Now that I've been arroused from my slumber, it would be hard to find it again."
Having come to this strange new place, she needed to find out the laws of the land, incase they differed from her previous home...

The mangled wolf was curious about the two other wolves. He's ears still twitched a bit ,it was becoming some what of a habit "I hope I don't offend, but you talk so proper, can I ask why? I don't believe I've ever heard any others talk like that. It's a rather nice change of things." Scraps was getting more confident enough to talk to the dark, black wolf. "and you're such a serious fellow, I hope you don't feel as I'm being intrusive but why such seriousness?"
occ:sorry for the shortness

[my parents took me for a surprise vacation, and i didn't get to post absence. sorry!] Anubis measured Blakwhole's words carefully, a flicker of mild surprise giving his black orbs a curious gleam. He had obviously underestimated this female, and her strange words, and made note not to do so again. He was a careful beast, burdened by long years and slow, painful trials, with the uncertainty of not n=knowing exactly what he was. He had survived by not making the same mistake twice. A simple policy, but complex in practice nonetheless. Anubis rose, front paws sliding out, stretching his back with a lazy yawn, movements graceful for so large a creature. Dark marks appeared where he had scratched, fresh earth exposed by the motion. Ignroing this, he straightened, to shift his body into the sunlight, where his dark fur caught glimmers of deep blue, a sign of health. He blinked lazily at Scraps, ingnoring Blakwhole's searching gaze. Serious? It is merely my way. I cannot explain why I am.... serious. But as soon as he answered the other wolf's query, he continued scrutinizing Blakwhole, speaking quietly, voice rumbling. There must be an inquiry, an asking of the Alphas. They rule supreme, but I have heard rumors of a possibility of 'clans', or groups within the pack. Perhaps you should seek to create your own.
