The earth in which Shishu had slept upon was bedded of poor, gloomy grass, blackening as they were aging. All about him, the trees' craggy boughs were reaching out to him, their spring leaves hardly seen in the darkness. All that could be seen was horror among these dark and whispering trees. A wind had blown through them, making their leaves rattle like a necklace of bones. They spoke of nothing but terror to the broken creature that had slept uneasily, yet uncaring beneath their scornful gaze.
Somewhere above, a couple of crows had called, their hoarse voices reaching Shishu's shabby ears. They were circling above him. Angry dark eyes were watching the tattered black wolf, but he did not do a thing to stop them, save for welcoming to appease their scavenging appetites. "Flesh," they called with their horrible voices. "Flesh... blood..."
"Take me," Shishu replied, his voice weak and tired as his head laid sideways. His whole body ached, he was terribly hungry, and his fur needed a good grooming - for the poor fellow looked as though he had not eaten in days, let alone take care of himself for years. There were bloodstains upon parts of his body, and black fur that seem to grow in clumps because of the scars that he had obtained. The queerest part about this downtrodden fellow, was the fact that his jutted shoulders had perched upon them two knobs of some kind; fleshy, boney knobs, as if an apendage had been torn from his shoulders. This poor creature once possessed wings, but for some reason, were ripped from his body. What's more, this wolf was huge - perhaps seven feet or so, obviously a wolf, yet of a rare specie of sorts, but not quite unheard of in Shinkou Ookami.
"Take you, take you," the crows replied excitedly, as more appeared from the woods and joined their fellows in the taunting call. A few had landed upon the branches, their eyes glowing red beneath the full-moon's light.
Shishu simply layed there, breathing very slowly. His ribs showed clearly through his fur; he looked neither living nor dying. He callously awaited the ravenous birds to swoop down upon him to slowly eat him alive.

Small brown eyes darted rapidly around playing on the trees like wildfire with their reddish hued appearance. A thin and lanky torso seemed to move with a mind of its own between long legs. A bushy salt and pepper tail brushed the inner spots of the she-wolfs back legs as well as the tip dragging the ground occasionally. How did the slender wolf get herself into such a mess? Tangled in a web of darkness with the spider of Deceit and hatred soon on her tail.
How could she leave them there like that? To Die? Humans never took care of the canine kind, no they could never be capable of living in harmony with the creatures. A symbiotic relationship could never exist between animals and humans, it should be avoided at all costs. Humans barely took care of their own breed, so why should they take on the well being of another. Wars waged all over the word with blades and gun powder while animals used age-old magic and their own God given abilities. To Bad she didn't have any God Given abilities to use to her disposal.
Stopping the black and white wolf looked up to the blocked sky. Damn tree cover was blocking the sky above from where she stood making the darkness the dominant in the forest and her figure was merely a stain on the impure linen of the unforgiving appearance of the Kohai Forests. She'd been left here a wander soul without a purpose like many creatures here seemed to be. Left by the only people they had trusted, that's what they all seemed to deserve though.
She deserved to starve. She'd left her brethren in a hell hole where humans convinced them that they had lost all of their senses to live in the wild, assuming they had these senses in the first place, and took it upon themselves to reteach them these instincts. As if having things tested on them their whole lives didn't make them timid and strange enough. They had wanted to see if they would harness this age old magic for humanoid use. Idiots needed to gain it or be born with the ability, they couldn't give it to non-magic users it was just crazy.
The shriek of the demon scavenger birds is what brought the she-wolf's attention to something other then her abandonment by others and of others. There was a large wolf, strange looking too, on the path before her. Large in size though he smelled thick of blood and was being taunted by the echoing cries of the birds. As she entered the area where they perched they could hear their cat calls shift to mocking her. Bird brains had nothing better to do then taunt to living and wait for them to die so they could peck their eyes out. Her Brown eyes might be their next target, tarnishing the rust colored Fur beneath her eyes. No Rust was smarter then to talk back to these winged rats.
((Ick that was bad.))

OOC: No no, that was really good! =D
"Flesh," the crows called louder. One swooped down and landed upon Shishu's boney rump. As it pecked upon his thinning fur, the crow looked up at a wolf that had approached the scene.
"Live one," it cooed, pointing it's fierce beak at the timid wolf. Shishu had heard, but seemed to not care at all as he lay, unmoving. "Why are you here?" came his voice, very low and distant as he spoke to the only other wolf in the vicinity. "Can't you leave a broken spirit to rest?"

Heart pounding in her chest she rolled her shoulders back as she moved away from the cackling rats and the dark speaking wolf. They turned to her their main focus as they played at his flesh. Why did she not have any shred of courage in her body? Why was she so afraid. She didn't need to save this creature but it seems horrid to leave him there to die and be pecked at by the birds. "S-S--Stop..." She murmured a mere whisper with her muffled voice. Only she could hear her own timid voice. "S..S...Please...Er...Ah...Stop." Come on you cowardly she-wolf speak up for yourself. Speak up. Talk to them like you are the one in charge. Like you are the one that will beat them to a pulp. They are only birds, rats with wings. "Stop," This time she spoke as clearly and strong as her shaky voice could muster. "Stop Now!...Please..."

"Raaaaagh!" they cried angrilly as the shy wolf spoke loudly for them to stop. "Who is wolf to restrain us? Who is wolf to deny us meat?" Three more flocked down to Shishu, though instead of pecking at him, were clicking their beaks protectively over their dying black wolf. "Flesh...!" they all retaliated in unison.
Suddenly there was a mass flutter of wings as the crows scattered into the air, their heads puffed up angrilly yet frightful of the forceful call of the wolf as she told them to stop once again.
Shishu was still lying there. He had not moved an inch through this whole time, his lips were even parted slightly but had not moved also. "I wanted to die," moaned the pitiful wolf, now whimpering deeply but sharply as he had no choice but to postpone his death. Before, Shishu did not care whether he lived or died, but at this point, with the horrible shape he was in, he was prepared to kick the bucket. Now all that was happening was mere torture. Perhaps he could talk the timid wolf to end his suffering.
"Galaxia, I'm sorry," he emitted quietly.

Long lashes blinked over her Red-Brown eyes. What? He had enjoyed the birds picking at his flesh waiting until one struck vital. She didn't get it. She had wanted to die once, though never quite had the courage to do so, but she would have never disgraced what little pride she had by allowing these bird to feed upon her. Then again she was another person with even a shred of pride and dignity in her small body.
"Um mm I'm sorry..." Stupid idiot stop apologizing it wasn't your fault. "I didn't know that you had wanted them there." Don't let such a coward live, Rust. Kill him. Kill Him. "Well I should be leaving you alone now..." Kill him.
((Little Rust fighting with herself, mentally of course. xDDD Sorry for shortness, block of the writers.))

It was just one of those days.
Just one of those days where the constant nausea reached up and gripped the stomach, causing it to churn and threaten to expel its contents by any means possible. One of those moments when the world around you seemed to smell so vial that it only worsened the sickening sensation that seemed to wash over you like a bloody ocean full of corpses. The forest seemed to moan with a pain all its own, its air no longer sweet, the flowers no longer pure. No, for some reason everything had a putrid smell to it.
It was just one of those days when the reason why you felt so sick, was because you knew something was wrong. It was a fear that made one want to stop and just pass out, that way everything would go away. Everywhere she looked, her stomach drooped further. She knew it the moment she smelt fresh blood in the air. The moment she saw black birds flying in predatory circles. And thats when the first wave of sickness over took her. Stopping near a tree, she expelled what little there was in her stomach and tried to cough to get the foul taste from her taste buds. Galaxia panted slightly and looked up as the birds scattered as a shout rang out. Why was this? There was no way she could no what lay beyond the thicket of trees. But in a way, she did know, her mind conjuring images she wouldn't want to even encounter in a dream.
Just one of them days, where your legs seemed to be glued to the spot. As if the Earth had turned into glue simply to enjoy watching you squirm. One of those times, when were ready to encounter what or who you haven't encountered in a long time. Slowly, nimble legs marched forward, causing the deep blue spotted fur to sway. Every step she moved she got sicker. Every step, she heard the sounds of talking. She knew one voice and it made her stop. It sounded so fragile, so weak and pathetic. Breathing increased, a poor attempt to help calm herself and raging adrenaline. Could it be? She stayed behind the cover of the massive trees, thankful for once that she was small enough to hide behind it with ease.
Yes, it was just one of those days.

The dark birds landed on their perches on the creepy trees, calling out noisilly at the wolf that had only just made her bold statement. "Nasty," they jeered, "stupid wolf!" They issued various other short words of abhorence.
Shishu felt far from enjoying all of this. However, in the pit of his stomach, he felt anger for someone to mosey into his business. He wanted a fast death, but instead he had to wait for death.
"Kill me if it so pleases you," he growled softly, "death will be much welcome. I am dying of starvation and disease. If I had to wait longer... eventually I'd die. So it does not matter."
Subconsciously, a noise in the far distance reached his ears, but Shishu did not think much of it. If he was in a better state, he would take better notice of such noise, but perhaps it would have been different if he found out that it was... but it couldn't be...

Taking a few steps forward she took her salt and pepper maw and brushed it against the ground. A small whimper escaped her muzzle as she laid it before the ground near the wolf that had his body laid out for the ravenous birds to feed upon. How could someone want to die so badly that they would ask any random person. "I'm er...can help. I can heal you...A bit...kinda...er...please...let me...er...help...I don't want people to die...er...please?"
She shook her head and brought her nose to nudge him gingerly. "It hurts...well everything hurts me when I do it but...I don't like people dying an...come...on..." She brought her nose up slightly stepping a few steps back as a precaution. "Ummm...Please?"

Death was a funny thing. In many peoples eyes it meant one thing, while through the otehrs it meant the complete oppisote. And it was a completely different matter when one didn't want to live any more. She hadnt realized it, but her small body was trembling. Trembling with fear, fear that she may truly lose Shishu and be once again utterly alone. Her eyes closed, trying to concentrate on their conversation and not the thoughts of what if's ran through her mind.

"I don't want to be healed," he retorted pathetically. "There's nothing left for in me on this plane. Everything...," he sighed weakly, "everything has been torn from me. My powers... my strength... my family... my family... they turned me away... for a good cause... I suppose... perhaps... it was for... the better..." His voice was fading. It was as if Shishu was slowly preparing to drift into a long-awaited sleep.
The dark birds were slowly dropping again, as if making another attempt to break the dying wolf open to begin feasting. That wretched wolf was as good as dead anyway.

It felt as if all hope was lost. Galaxias ears had long since shifted back, resting firmly against her head in a saddened manner. Now she knew the truth and wasnt sure if she herself could bring herself to openly do what was right. Shifting from her hiding spot, heavy paws began to move in the direction in which she had orignally come from. Though they felt weighted down, she moved silently. Her heart was beating with a dull pain and she felt the tears stinging her eyes, threatening to fall over and over and over again.
Finally, she was no more then twenty feet from where the others rested and she could go no further. Her bottom promptly fell to the earth and her shoulders began to shudder as the tears fell. It hurt. It hurt a lot in fact. With some efforts she looked up, watching a few of the giant black birds fly towards their living prey. And then she began to howl. It wasnt as smooth as it should have been, in fact most of the notes were broken and weak. But it didnt matter, she wasnt singing the song for the beauty of it, she was singing it for the saddness in her heart. For the only way she knew how to communicate with him.

A long sigh passed her lips as she took steps away from male upon the soft ground. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know that you wanted to die. I just wanted to help...I swear. Should I leave you alone now? I mean I've never been able to commit suicide therefore I don't know if you want to decay on the ground alone or let them pick at you...do you want me to leave or get you help? I er...I'm sorry...I'm rambling aren't I--" Cutting off she noticed the other creature near them.
"Ohmygod!" She seemed surprised by the female's sad song. Her heart seemed to heave as the initial shock passed over her body of finally noticing there was another one there. "Oh...Maybe I should leave." Lowering her head she shook slightly and began backing up. "Here I will leave you both... you seem to be fine alone..."

Kanashii as if from nowhere was suddenly standing next to the underconfident wolf. His eyes portrayed nothing in them but there was an air of saddness and bloodlust around him, enough to make even strong wolves cringe at him. The scars below his eyes ran down his black furred cheeks and gave the appearence of tears, his blank emotionless eyes betraying his kind smile as he stared at the dying wolf before him. He decided however to speak to the wolf next to him first. His voice gave no hint as to his intentions but instead sounded pleasent and warm, which was unuasual considering the dying wolf right in front of him. The cackling birds around him were starting to irritate him, the only thing stopping him from slaughtering them was his desire to not spook the wolf next to him.
"Looks like this is yer first time seein another die huh. Must be more confusing fer ya considerin he wants to do so badly."
Kanashii's ear's perked up slightly as he heard the mournful cries of another wolf. A slight smile crept over his maw as he turned his attention back to the dying wolf in front of him. His voice overlycheerful for what he really wanted to do.
"My my.... You've sure seen better times ain't ya? Letting these scavengers peck on ya like this. It's disgraceful. Since yer so ready to die... How bout i give ya a nice quick death yea? A wolf deserves as much."
He watched the birds begin to circle again and this time he wouldn't ignore the blasted things. Part of his ear began to glow blue and in a moment became a small blue flame that rushed for one of the birds, he missed however and he gave a slight curse at his bad aim. The flame retreated back to where it came and molded with his body reforming the missing ear. He again turned his attention back to the dying wolf. The smile left his face and was replaced with a more serious look along with his tone of voice.
"Now then.... About that quick death i promised ya. If it's what ya really want then i'll end it fer ya nice and easy."
Kanashii said calmly as his paws began to glow a ghostly blue like his ear did before.
(this is just a side note but Kanashii speaks with a kensai accent.)
