Spinning Woman - This is SO COOL

Okay, so EM's new siggy and stuff reminded me of this really really really cool optical illusion my roommate showed me a little while ago. Check it out! The woman looks like she's spinning in one direction (most people see clockwise first), but if you focus hard enough, she spins in the other direction!

On the site where this is posted, there were a lot of people claiming that it wasn't your perception that changed, it was the animation itself that changed. This has been disputed by other people on that site who have opened the gif in a gif editing program and looked at it frame by frame, seeing no intentional alteration between directions. Also, people who have looked at it with someone else next to them see her change direction at different times. Just throwing that out there in case there are doubters out there ^_^







Some tricks include looking at her shadow, staring at her out of the corner of your eye, or rotating your finger next to her and then changing the direction of your finger's rotation, making her change too. Enjoy! =D
