(Just so people know, this is a continued post of a long, on-going plot that's been going on for years. xD Members who've been here a while may remember the characters and some events. The Blaze and Toby plots shall live! So for those who remember, previous events, as the below post will explain...were just a dream. :3 And for those who don't know what the heck this is...read and enjoy the revival.)
Images of the forest began to swirl around and around before her eyes, fading and coming back and fading again as the light of a small flame took over her vision. The small feline let loose a yawn, one jaws opening to a size that was shocking for how tiny her mouth had looked when resting. Ears laid back and popped right back up as she blinked away the sleep still settled over her eye lids.
As most do when they wake up from vivid dreams, so did this cat as she lay on a warm surface, thinking back to the strange events that had unfolded. Her mistress traveling back home, only to find a dead uncle ressurected and chasing her once again...even more confusing was...drat, now the images and the ideas that had followed them were fading...something about...that demon dog...well, now it mattered not.
She shook her head and stood up, placing her paws forward as her rump reached into the air with another yawn streatching her jaws open. The soft fabric of what she laid upon caught in her claws as she settled them out before retracting them. Quite suddenly after that action, her world was slanting as she toppled off the bed and onto the floor, issuing a loud 'Merf!' when she hit. She hadn't been sleeping on the bed at all then...she had made the mistake of falling asleep ontop of something. The still drowsy feline that was Doushikoe twitched her ears, and lept back up onto the bed, taking a look at her owner's sleeping face. BlazingTear had yet to wake up and from the look of the smile on her face, she was having a more pleasant dream. Doushiko linked her mind together with her mistress, as she could do so because of their connection, and saw the faintest image of a man before it was whisked away in that porcelin dream-state that it was. So, it was one of them was it? If Doushiko had the muscles to, she would have given a mischevious smile.

Soft footsteps padded against the hardwood flooring of Kagome's hut, echoing quietly in the way that most boots do. An alluring aroma filled the small space of the room, the scent hinting at the wilderness of outside against cleanly washed skin.
Briefly, a warm, strong hand rested against the sleeping Blaze's shoulder. Fingertips trailed off as the figure moved to the opposite end of the room and crouched, working on sparking up a fire in the designated area.
Should she awake now, her gaze would be greeted with a view of tousled raven black hair and muscular bare shoulders, slightly damp and beaded with water, for Aoshi had just returned from the hotsprings.
Leaning back ever so slightly, a sigh escaped his lips, his hand moving upward to drive back a few stray hairs...though they simply fell back into their original placement. The fire at his side blazed with a small passion, casting long shadows along the walls and illuminating his blue-green eyes...the likes of which darted toward Doushiko and thus his mouth drew upward in a smile. "well you're up rather early now aren't you?"

"Mwer?" Came the soft sound from Doushiko, her body landing with a soft thump on the floor before padding quietly over to the man before the flames. She sniffed at his leg and found a dry spot, throwing her head up against it and rubbing in the normal feline fashion. Since BlazingTear was not awake at the moment to give her a scratch, then she would seek out others to do such instead.
Her ears pricked and her head suddenly swiveled as a sound could be heard from the area in which her mistress lay. It had been a soft, distressed moan, barely heard, but certainly not silent to her large ears. Doushiko's sudden surprise softly retreated, as she had been worried. Yet at the discovery that it was most likely due to something that had happened in the dream world, she was content.
It was moments after that, that BlazingTear's own ears gave a small twitch, followed by the movement of her rolling over in the simple bed. Her head tilted back while she remained upon the cot, as her eyes rolled up to meet Aoshi's form. Her gaze, in one moment had been fearful, became calm as the cloudy haze of sleep began to lift away. She let out a soft, reassured sigh before rolling over and sitting up, raising her arms above her head to streatch out the lazy muscles. That task done, she sat there quietly for a moment, doing as Doushiko had done by mulling over the contents of her dream. It had been a mixed adventure, for she was sure that her own dream had been invaded by a nightmare in parts. She had awoken with the thought that Aoshi was no longer with her and that Tobias was in a sense, lost to her as well, with a much larger fear and terror trailing behind... She shook her head, in a similar fashion that her familiar had done so not just long after waking up to rid her mind of the thoughts as they trailed away, forgotten as dreams usually were once woken up. She put a soft smile on her face as she pushed away the worries of her fantasy world and turned to look upon Aoshi, giving him a simple soft, "Morning."

Stormy blue-grey eyes flicked up toward Blaze's face and instantly Aoshi was struck with relief that he was simply within her presence...all though it wasn't as though he had been gone very long from her side any one instance. Lightly he shrugged off this emotion only to find a new, stronger and slightly bolder one had replaced it.
Instantly his cheeks darkened under the shadow of a crimson blush, his cranium dropping instantly so he broke eye contact, his hair falling over his face. His mind filled with thoughts of the forbidden romance the two of them had shared just a few nights before. Without realizing it, his hand lifted so that his fingertips lightly grazed the edges of his lips fleetingly.
The sudden sound of Tobias muttering about something or other outside snapped Aoshi to attention and he simply smiled at Blaze before speaking softly and as though nothing out of the ordinary had crossed his mind "So...you want some breakfast?"

"Breakfast?" A deep, yet soft voice floated in from the other room. Soft steps could be heard, padding around the doorway to reveal an awkward looking creature to be in such a small room, for his size looked larger than the actual space he took up. Large nostrils opened wide, taking in the scent of those within the room and his large, white orbs moved to fall upon Aoshi. "What is a breakfast?"
A soft laugh could be heard from behind the black beast, and his head only turned slightly to aknowledge it. "It's what they call a meal time of the day."
He snorted in his usual manner that, 'humans do strange things' type of sound, narrowing only one of his eyes. "That is odd, to name a meal." Daaku moved forward, surprisingly fitting onto one of the cots that lay along the floor. "I simply call it, food."
The source of the previous laughter moved into the room after Daaku, Isis in crow form making her way over to his side. Upon landing, the crow simply disappeared to be replaced by a small young woman.
Blazingtear couldn't help but give a smile, and bade a soft good morning to Daaku and Isis as well. The greeting however, only pulled a soft 'huff' from Daaku and merely caused Isis to cover another laugh. Her attention returned to Aoshi and she gave a soft shake of her head.
"No, thank you." Her eyes closed while she raised her arm, touching the soft fabric of her clothes to her forehead. For some reason, the thought of food at the moment gave her stomach an uneasy feeling. Perhaps the memories of those nightmares were still fresh in her subconcious.

The soft shimmer of silver hair gleamed momentarily in the doorway of the hut, opposite of the one Daaku was blocking, a full masculine figure standing within it as the sunlight gleamed in behind him. Thus, his front was cast in shadow, and granted as the wind blew his hair to the side, he looked rather ominous.
Lightly a bare foot shifted forward, the sleeves of his shirt rustling at his sides while his sword clunked lightly against his hip. Amber eyes darted about the room, resting silently on each face individually for a moment, though they lingered longest on Blazingtear. Finally his attention rested with Daaku, to which he provided a scoff and stepped forward so that he could sit on the floor. "Jeeze, ever think that someone else might want to use the door?" Ears flicked with an annoyance that was all his own...and something that everyone else that hung around him was well used to.
Shuffling, Tobias glared at Aoshi in his usual fashion before muttering under his breath and leaning back against the wall.
A small laugh left the lips of Aoshi at Tobias' entrance as he himself stood to wander toward the kitchen and prepare himself something to eat. "Nice to see you too..." a smirk lifted his lips as he disappeared entirely into the next room.

Daaku took a deep intake of air and simply let it loose in one big huff, white orbs opened and possibly looking at Tobias despite his head facing another direction, however with a lack of pupils and an iris it was difficult to tell.
BlazingTear opened her eyes, looking over at Tobias, not because he had entered, but because she could feel Doushiko moving in his direction to give the half demon a greeting. Her senses of the familiar's thoughts were confirmed when she watched the cat attempt to curl in and about Tobias' legs, possibly becoming a disadvantage if he attempted to walk any further with the feline familiar wound about his feet, purring maddly and rubbing as much of her being against his own form as possible.
BlazingTear turned away with a frown, hiding a small blush and giving an incoherent cough that was muffled by her sleeve. Doushiko instantly stopped, blinked, and returned to BlazingTear's side with a bounding leap in her steps and two tails raised like banners behind.

Blinking in slight surprise at the sudden onslaught of raw emotion from Doushikou, Tobias straightened himself and attempted to scoot one foot out of the way so that she might slow down on the amount of loose fur she had now plastered his leg with...however, in the midst of such a maneuver, Doushikou bounded back toward Blazingtear. Thus the half demon completely lost all balance and footing and toppled over onto himself, grumbling with annoyance and glaring out from under his hair. Huffing, he righted himself and crossed his arms while sitting indian style on the floor still fuming that he had made himself look like a complete idiot.
"That was graceful..." rich vocals filtered into the room from the doorway of the kitchen with a laugh as Aoshi came back out with a plate filled with eggs and sausage and something that resembled toast but had a slap of butter on it and a sticky honey looking substance slathered over it.
Finding a spot in the corner, Aoshi settled down and picked up a fork, only to lightly poke at the toast in front of him quizzically before cutting off a bite sized piece and placing it into his mouth. There was an instantaneous smile that graced his lips as he chewed, for apparently the foreign food was quite tasty.
(mmm...now i want french toast xP )

(Thus, the plot thickens...dun dun dun...will Aoshi have jam or more honey with his toast? Find out...)
BlazingTear sat quietly on the cot, arms folded against her chest, her head tilted slightly while she reflected upon her thoughts. The dream she had shared with her familiar, had apparently spooked them both, considering Doushiko's earlier affectionate display. It had seemed so real...it had taken her a moment to sort out reality from dream... Simply thinking about it made her feel weak again...faint even...
Doushiko had, at the moment of Aoshi's arrival, run over to investigate the wonderful smell coming off the plate he held in his hands. She ran about his feet, though not in the same manner as she had earlier, head constantly tilted up in the plate's direction and mewling with curiosity and want. She was so preocupied with what the food was that she didn't notice that something had gone numb in her mind. Something that had always been there was suddenly severed, clouded by what...well, she didn't know as she wasn't thinking about it. It was fortunate that, in a brief pause, she noticed it.
Doushiko stopped, moving away from Aoshi and looking at BlazingTear. Since birth, Doushiko could always feel some form of emotions, some form of thoughts moving from her mistress through their link. Yet now, things were quiet as that link seemed clogged by, what? BlazingTear however, looked fine however tired as one usually does when still waking up, especially if they're not a morning person.
So deep was Doushiko in thought that she jumped with a hiss and her fur stood on end when BlazingTear had suddenly let out a sneeze.
BlazingTear pushed her palms against her forehead, as though she could hold down the pain of each pounding beat inside her head. That sneeze had done it. She wasn't just tired from lack of sleep or wavering dreams...she had caught a cold.
"Oow...ow..." She said quietly as the last few pulses of her headache faded.

"Well now you've gone and done it!" a cheery, yet concerned voice called out from the kitchen as a figure moved to stand in the doorway. Holding a plate of steaming frenchtoast in one hand and a bowl of wet catfood in the other, Kagome's eyes were placed on Blazingtear, her brows furrowed in worry. Setting both platters down (though she put the frenchtoast on a higher surface, so that doushikou might not reach it) Kagome moved toward Blaze, her hand extended to touch her forehead...only it quickly moved to her pocket and pulled out a stick looking thing, to which she tried to insert into Blaze's mouth. "Looks like you've caught a cold...Keep that in your mouth while i go get some medicine."
One ear gave a small flick at the word "sick" and instantly his attention was on Blaze. "What do you mean she's sick?"
"it means that she's ill..." Aoshi glanced up from his food with an arched eyebrow, as though Tobias were a complete moron...to which he responded with a scowl.

"What..." BlazingTear attempted to ask, though the question died shortly before the 'stick' had been inserted into her mouth. She was preocupied with the two tasks of keeping the curious thing in her mouth at the same time she was trying to ignore her own curiosity of finding out what it was while obeying Kagome's order to keep it in. She was quiet all the while, since it wasn't easy to talk with the thermometer in her mouth. Moments passed before she felt another sneeze itching it's way out. She attempted to suppress it, but failed misserably as the sound caused Doushiko to jump into the air once again. The feline rowled, as she had been in the process of stalking the out of reach toast.
The glass shattered on the floor and rolled away, along with the tiny beads of mercury that were now rolling their way along the floorboards. BlazingTear had her eyes closed and her ears flat, hands covering her mouth and nose for she was sure she had seen a bit of flame in the process of that last sneeze. A cold that was even affecting her magic could certainly make an average cold ten times worse.
"I'm sorry...I couldn't hold it..."

At the tinkle of broken glass, Kagome reappeared in the doorway, a spoon and a bottle in hand. However, upon seeing what had broken, the two object she held were thrust out of her fingers as she moved hurriedly toward Blaze. "Quickly! Everyone out!" Brows furrowed as she laid a hand on blaze's shoulder, eyes darting over her face. "That didn't break in your mouth did it?!" shaking her head as there were no signs of glass or mercury, Kagome quickly began to scoot the rest of the group out. "common...that stuff's dangerous after it's been exposed to the air!"
Alarm sparked in Aoshi's eyes as he made move toward Blaze....in her condition, she certainly shouldn't walk. However, the heat burning from Tobias' eyes as he moved toward her haulted him in his spot...hell hath no fury like Tobias should the half-demon feel challenged in the love departmen....something Aoshi really didn't feel like dealing with at that particular moment. "You get Blaze..." Aoshi ordered Tobias without really having to while he set his sights on Kagome. "Lead the way..."
Tobias scrambled to his feet rather quickly, the metallic smell emanating off of the floor stinging his nostrils. Gently he allowed his arms to fall about Blazingtear, lifting her from her resting place and proceeded out the door. Blinking a few times, his eyes adjusted to the brightness of sunlight streaming forth from the horizon and filtering through the forest surrounding them. One ear slightly twitched as Kagome closed the door to the hut and sank to the ground in a huff...as well as mutter that the place would be closed for a while.
Amber eyes lowered to Blaze's face, whom he still held within his arms. "So...now what?" He spoke semi-softly, his thumb lightly flicking a piece of her hair from her face...as well as tingling slightly from the warmth of her skin.

"It smelled like blood..." Daaku complained to the young woman that held his oversized claw in her hands. Isis had pulled him up and out, following quickly after the others when Kagome had alerted them all to the dangers of the spilled substance. Though Daaku had seemed interested in the fallen mercury, he had given her no resistance, since never could a small woman such as her drag out the large beast that he was with her own strength.
BlazingTear shivered as a chill suddenly ran through her body. Though the thermometer had been broken, it would have shown to the others that she had indeed developed a slight fever with this unfortunate cold. Now though, her skin would feel cold to the touch, as though the warmth of life had been sucked from her skin. She was feeling light headed, dizzy, and very, very cold at the moment, but other than that things were not so bad.
"Tobias... I... I think..." She faultered with her speech, not even bothering to finish the sentence since she couldn't quite grasp the thought in her own mind. She placed her hands on his shoulders and gave a weak push before placing her feet on the ground and using him as a means to steady herself. She suddenly let go and nearly toppled to the ground in the process, but managed to right herself, leaning over with her hands on her knees and her head lowered.
Doushiko gave a concerned mewl before suddenly taking shelter behind Tobias' legs, not in fear, just in need of protection.
BlazingTear gave a small laugh at Doushiko's reaction, now kneeling on the ground and breathing hard as though even the smallest movement were sapping all strength from her.
"This is...normal. I think." She said softly, holding her hands cupped together and staring down at them for a long moment before a small flash of flame had been borne in the center. The tiny fireball crackled once before winking out of existance entirely.
"It's gone..."

"Blaze..." Tobias spoke with a softness in his tone that was usually only used in times when it was just himself and Blaze alone together. As she swaggered, Tobias' first instinct was to snatch her up and hug her to his chest so that she wouldn't be able to fall again...yet she righted herself enough to not fall so he simply touched a few fingers to her arm, brows furrowing with worry. "You need to lie down."
She was cold to the touch...and paler than she usually was, the coloration having drained from her face....even her eyes seemed slightly dulled to him. His own amber eyes now trailed to the flicker of flame that erupted in her hand...and yet it was quickly snuffed out of existence. Alarm sparked instantaneously, and although his eyes portrayed this, he uttered not a word, less cause everyone else to be worried and at the same time cause blaze to strain herself with an explanation. Blaze's powers were a major part of her...and if they were failing now.... Mentally Tobias shook himself, his auds flattening against his head not wanting to think about all the horrible things that might be causing Blaze's illness.
Cranium lifted as he shot a glance at the hut....so much for Blazingtear resting inside there....but where to go now? Against his better judgement, his eyes fell to Aoshi; Blaze would need a roof tonight and sleeping outside was not an option.
As if to read Tobias' thoughts, Aoshi cleared his throat. "I suppose we better move elsewhere for the time being...Blaze can't stay outside with this cold." Lightly he tapped a boot-tip to the ground and moved off to the side to suggest that whoever wanted to should follow.

BlazingTear was shaking her head, possibly to answer Tobias’ request that she lay down or simply as a remedy to rid herself of the light headedness.
“I’ll be fine.” She spoke still in a soft voice, but not so weak as it had been before. She seemed to have gotten her breath back at least. She leaned her head back, arm upright with the back of her wrist touching against her forehead. It was so cold…the connection of skin sent a shiver down her spine. Her elemental magic had simply died out, which had only happened a few times before, though not as severely as this.
She looked her friends, noting their concerned expressions and giving a small smile, she even let out a soft chuckle at what Aoshi had said.
“It’s not a cold…and the worse of it seems to be done.” She put her hands on her knees and carefully stood up. Her hand seeking Tobias’ own that lay on her shoulder for support. She was unsteady still, but at least standing.
“Konzen go through several stages in life…since our human appearances aren’t our true bodies, our human forms do not grow normally, we simply…” She placed a hand on her chin and lips in a thinking position as she looked for the right word.
“Shift…to a new age. It takes quite a bit of magical energy, so those of us who specialize in elements, well…they go dormant while the change takes place, to avoid any damage two conflicting powers like that would do.”
