[glow=blue,2,300]Astarael[/glow]
A black figure slipped from the shadows the forest's tall trees made. It was a horse, female by the look of her. She was pure black with large feathered wings protruding from her shoulders. She seemed to have a blue glow to her black fur and her feathers were tinted blue as well. She was tall for her rare species, average weight and build. She had long legs, proof of the speed she was capable of. Upon her head was a golden horn that glowed faintly in her wariness of the open field before her.
Her eyes shifted warily around the open space and she moved for wards cautiously. Her eyes were all colors, but not a color; always shifting from color to color, sometimes they were even black. They didn't change with her mood, it was just random. She moved gracefully and slowly across the field, watching around her carefully.

Xelin was wandering like the sea around the Doresu fields, short, black and white panda-like wolf energetically bounding around. He was still looking for something, unknown to anyone or him of what it is... His eyes were still closed, might be sleepwalking. That was proven when he had tripped over some random log.
As he awakened, eyes sore from last night's search, he had spotted a horse. Unicorn, maybe? It was watching carefully of it's surroundings, Xelin not wanting to scare it away. Xelin was still young, and did not hunt very often. He crawled closer towards her, female, it was. Not what he was looking for...

The winged unicorn, noticing movement in the bushes around the field froze. She turned her multi-colored eyes onto the spot where the noise originated and snorted in slight alarm. Her wings rose out defensively, ready to take flight at any time. "Who's there?" She called with her mind, hoping it was something not trying to hurt her. She was known for being shy and this was no exception. She didn't want to run, however, but she would if needed.

Xelin jumped a bit. Only enough to show himself, yes, he had already been a meter forward. His paws also sore, made movement forwards almost subconciously, still shy and young. Now he noticed she had wings.
He hoped that he wouldn't scare her away, not many friends that he had. He actually never had any friends... "Hi" was the only reply recieved by the unicorn. Xelin sat down and wagged his tail on dirt.

The winged creature looked at him, sizing him up to see how much of a threat he was. She finally turned her attention to the wolf sitting in front of her and gave him a curious look. "What's your name little one?" She asked mentally once more.
She relaxed her pose a bit and folded her great black wings once more. Her golden horn glinted in the sunlight, her golden hooves barely showing above the grass. Her eyes changed color again, now an odd purple color.

"Huh? I-I'm Xelin..." Xelin staggered a bit, and watched her eye color changed. He was close to her already, but did not know her name. "What's your name?" Xelin cocked his head to the side, nosing rising every once and a while. He had never visited any place other than the mountains, so it was a really strange scent.

The creature nodded. "I'm known as Astarael." She answered curtly, her eyes once more shifting in color. She shifted her gaze around the field to make sure no one was sneaking up on her. She knew well that wolves travelled in a pack, and she had no intentions of becoming a snack without a fight.
Her eyes got a peculiar expression and then her form wavered a bit. A black fog enshrouded her for a second then in the winged unicorn's place was medium sized black wolf. The wolf had the same multi-colored eyes, but was smaller then the unicorn. Astarael's paws were all golden and there was a small golden horn on her forhead which began to shrink until it was only a golden star on her face. The wings on her back has disappeared into her pelt of blue-black fur. Now she sat down and began to wash her pelt, eying Xelin in front of her.

Xelin watched as her eye color changed, and was startled when another black wolf replaced the unicorn. It took a bit of thinking before he could notice that they were one and the same. He could only stare, mouth agape, and shook himself out of it.
Ah, Xelin was still young... He could guess that she was still taller than him. Xelin was never one to get a conversation going, so he sat stupidly still. He was weak, after all, and if a fight broke out, he would most certainly be defeated, and in most cases, die. Xelin blinked a few times. "Do you know what I'm looking for?"

Astarael eyed him curiously then shook her head. Alas, no. Any idea? Maybe I can help. She offered, her eyes glinting with an unreadable expression. She gave a toothy grin. I like this form, unfortunately it's not within my powers, I can only sustain a herbivore's form. She stated, somewhat wistfully. Her form once again shook and became a smaller version of her original form, the same size as Xelin.

Xelin was relieved that Astarael was still a herbivore, even as a wolf, or else he'd be dead. Now Xelin blinked again. Now Astarael was as tall as him! "Well... I know that whatever I am looking for, it's living... And I think it's male... it's also a carnivore. And well... that's it!" Xelin had no other idea of what it was that he was looking for. Suddenly, flashes of white crossed his eyes. He looked around quickly. Must've been just me... he thought to himself. He looked down, and back up again.

Astarael chuckled lightly. "I see... Well, there're lots of creatures that fit that description, and I, being the shy creature I am, haven't seen anyone fitting that description recently." She apologized, her shifting eyes glinting in amusement. She watched the wolf intently as his eyes clouded over in white. "What was that about?" She asked, blinking in a confused manner.

Xelin was a bit disappointed... of course still Astarael was right. "Huh?" Xelin had also blinked a few times. "What was that about?" He thought for a moment. "No... It's nothing." He shook a bit as a light breeze came whistling past them.

Astarael eyed him intently for a second then gave a horse shrug. She allowed the wind to push her mane and tail along in the breeze, but remained unmoving. So, where is your pack Xelin?" She asked, her eyes flicking once more warily around her to look for the wolf pack she expected. She could fend off wolves with her magic, but if they were like Xelin, they might have a hint of magic in them and that might spell trouble.

"Uh... I don't think I had any..." Xelin thought. And thought. And couldn't remember anything. "Ah, wait! I think I had a sibling..." He couldn't think anymore. Now it was he who wondered if Astarael travelled in a herd. He wondered if he should ask anyway. "Don't you travel in a herd?" Oh, the wonders. Xelin could imagine millions more of Astarael, and that was more than enough to make him faint. But it's not like he didn't want her to travel in one, how'd she get out all here. A voice appeared in his head. 'Hah! Ask yourself that!' Xelin inwardly narrowed his eyes. "Ask myself what, your myself too, right?" The mini conversation ended. 'Ugh, fine. You win.' Xelin smiled both inwardly and outwardly.

She shook her head a little sadly. No, I am a mixed breed, a Pegasus-Unicorn cross. I may be more powerful then the original pair, but I am shunned. It's against the rules to breed with another species, so here I am; alone." She stated her eyed turning a dark blue color. So, why don't you have a pack?" She asked, once more glancing around the clearing just in case.
