I would have LOVED to have had a try at this awesome opportunity. But intimidation is a good key to play in a case like this- and it has worked wonderously. Good job to all of you guys, especially you- Levi.

Crave... EVERYONE has an equal opportunity. I think everyone should try out if they want to! Hint: If you have a unique idea, I recommend putting it down!

No, no Crave! If you want to try out, please don't let me stop you! I think that, like Ave says, everyone deserves a fair chance, and just because my tryout is long doesn't mean that it's going to win. There are definately so many better and more creative ideas out there than mine, I'm sure, that I personally can't think of. What counts is that you tried your best ^^

((O.o i had more time? *shrugs* oh well. anyway here's mine!
though i have to say i agree somewhat with Craveth; all these wonderful tryouts severely intimidate me. but instead of moping around, i got off my ass and channeled it into the best damn profile i've ever done. oh and if you're a judge please don't let what i said influence you in any way, it just ticks me off to see people post things like that.))
Name: Odin Apollo Apollo
Age: 802
Gender: Male
Height: 9 feet at the shoulder
Length: 27 feet (body: 11; tail: 16)
Wingspan: 53 feet
Species: Druin
Parents: Gubraithia(dam), Apollo(sire)
Siblings: Tartarus, Oblivionic, Gaea
Appearance: A red, flaring mane frames the face of Odin, Druin of War. His entire visage is ashen in color, making his only pure ebon eye stand out like a flare on the left side of his face. Through this obsidian stone is nothing but fathomless darkness, an endless pit of nothing. The only thing one can truly see is their own reflection and an extremely subtle green tint.
They say that eyes are a window into the soul, and if that is true then Odin could be presumed to have none… at least until they see his other eye.
His right eye, as well as the entire right side, remains under the cover of long, flaming fur for a very good reason. Running from his forehead down to his jaw are three deep, solid scars and a fourth dotted one. Two of these vivid red scars have run through his eye, horribly disfiguring it. The eye itself is white with death, save the pale redness of the large V-like valleys that traverse it in line with the scars. The skin around the bottom of the eye has been pulled back and down slightly, showing any unlucky viewer the slight blackness of his bones. The fourth dotted scar caught the corner of his mouth, forming a permanent frown on the right side of the Druin’s maw; the only visible scar on his right side. The fur covering this grotesque deformity is layered on so thickly that not even the strongest winds can fully expose it. The only way for the fur to be placed as such is made possible by the near complete absence of his right ear. Its stump is still there, but it is hidden in red. Its partner however, still remains. The lighter orange of the inner ear making it slightly harder to see against his Odin’s flaring mane; the outer is the same ashen color of his visage.
Four black horns protrude from the back of Odin’s cranium; two on each side. All four extend upwards, the two on the right curing slightly to the left and vice versa. They grow perpendicular to the line of his snout, and act almost as if they are keeping his wild mane from spilling into his visage. The upper right horn is very unlike the rest, as it has three nicks which are near perfectly in line with the scars marring his face; the upper left sits just behind the ear. The lower two are slightly shorter than the upper ones.
The same orange tint of the inner ear can also be found on his slightly large nose. Beginning near his nose and extending a little more past the halfway point of his snout is exposed black bone and sharp maroon teeth. The origin of this old wound, like his deformity, is only known to him. The absence of some skin does not hinder his speech in the least.
The large scale plates that protect Odin’s underside are, like his horns, ebon in color. Despite their seemingly tight fit, he is able to bend his strong body freely. They continue down his long, thick tail right down to its tip. From the tip of his tail to just behind his shoulders is the traditional fur line that covers most Durins’ back, though there is a separation from this and the mane. This fur however, is a little shorter than normal and the color is different from that of the mane. While the mane is a solid flaring red, the rest has highlights of orange and yellow mixed in with a lighter red.
Great dragon-like wings sprout from Odin’s bear ashen shoulders on his whim. The rims of these great wings are black and spread out like fingers. At the end of each finger is a large black claw, sharp on the underside in its curvature; the thumb following suit. The ends of the blood red sails are frayed and tattered, though there is more than enough wing to keep him aloft.
Thick shoulders flow down to slightly larger ashen forelegs, at the end of which are four long toes. One obsidian claw extends from the tip of each toe; the claws themselves are retractable. The claws tipping the toes of the powerful hind legs are also obsidian but do not retract. The pads of these great limbs follow the same color as that of the inner ear and nose.

Personality: There are two main sides to Odin. Normally, Odin is eerily calm. His strong, resolute visage is most comparable to a stone wall. And like stone, it shows no emotion. Nothing about Odin betrays any kind of emotion whatsoever; no straining of muscles, no bearing of teeth, no lashing of tail… Nothing! Not even his deep bass voice –which would be mesmerizing if it wasn’t monotone - gives any hint of emotion.
The one great flaw about being basically a stone is that no one knows how to react to him. He will make gestures that try to convey emotion, such as in protection or love, yet they are empty without the actual emotion; just gestures.
However, this is not to say he’s a social outcast. Actually, he loves conversations, especially informed ones. He stays away from arguments, because he’ll most likely piss off his opponent; arguing with a wall is very annoying. Also, if he likes someone, he will obviously hang around them; if he hates them, he’ll avoid them. Small things like this seem to give one some inkling of what goes through his mind.
Powers:
Fire: The fire Odin can breathe does not burn him, therefore allowing him to set his mane and fur line ablaze without it singeing. He can also keep the fire alight in his mouth and stoke it, making it hotter. However, too hot and it will burn his mouth. The same can be said for his fur; if he lights it and lets it get too hot, then it will burn off. Though he is immune to his own fire, normal fire will burn him.
Heat: Almost like an internal fire. Through this, Odin can heat his claws so they begin to turn white; if they get too hot, they will melt and take three years to fully re-grow. He can also heat his body only to keep himself warm.
Emotion: Odin is not a mind reader; however he can read others’ emotions. By being able to read emotions, it gives him almost an intimate connection, and with that he can influence them, not control. An example being that he can calm an angry bunch just as easily as he can rile up perfectly tranquil ones. However, he cannot do this on a massive scale, nor can the effect last forever; only as long as he is concentrating on them.
Auras: His right eye is not entirely dead. It may not be able to see images like his left eye can, but rather it can see auras. Each living thing has a distinct aura, varying in types and styles from each species. Pure Druins, for example, have three colors in theirs; one main color and two that flare up every once in a while. Pure wolves have two solid colors that intertwine and spiral at their head. Humans have so many colors that most of the time it looks grey. Any mixing of species, like werewolves, have a combination of auras.
Berserker: When Odin snaps. His normal sense of reason is cast aside by the overwhelming urge for violence. Anything he can sink his claws into, whether it be his closest friend or his greatest enemy, it makes no difference to him, he will kill. Both his mane and his fur line catch fire, though none of it burns him. Both his eyes blaze neon green, though he still cannot see out of his right one, not even auras. His claws heat up usually a little past what he normally puts them, but the longer he’s in his berserker mode the hotter they get. If he stays too long, then they melt. He cannot access his wings while he is raging. The only reason he has calmed down in all his cases was because there was nothing left to kill. Afterwards, he becomes extremely exhausted and will not wake up for minimum two days; nothing can wake him during this time and therefore makes him extremely vulnerable. He can barely walk for a few days after that. Normally, about a week after his episode, depending on its duration, he’ll be perfectly fine. The longest he has stayed berserker was 4 hours, only because he was still giving chase. But after that it took him two weeks to fully get back on his feet.
History: Odin does not remember most of his early childhood in images, but rather in emotions. He remembers the joy his two older brothers shared when they fought together; the slight earning of his sister to join them; the maternal pride burning brightly in their mother as she watched. This would shortly be followed by an intense fear from all of them, more so from Gubraithia than from her pups, and with her fear also came great loss. He remembers his brothers protesting leaving her side, and the intense sadness his mother felt as she set his sister adrift on the river. Last but not least, he remembers regret as his mother abandoned him deep in an underground tunnel barely large enough to accommodate his growing form. He followed this tunnel for what seemed like days before he broke the surface and started hunting for himself.
For a long time Odin kept hidden, like his mother had told him to. Though he found it difficult at times to adjust to his growing form, he endured, and eventually he felt safe enough to stop living in constant fear.
100 years of his life had passed before he heard the slightest rumors of a massive Druin revolt. At first Odin considered investigating the source of these rumors but, remembering his mother’s warning, decided it better not to risk it.
One day, the Druin found an abandoned wolf pup. The little brown pup was crying for his mother, so Odin stayed well back. After 4 straight hours of crying, the brute decided this pup had definitely been abandoned, and offered him some food. Thankfully, the pup had already been weaned, so he accepted the food Odin offered him; and so he became a father.
To his surprise, Odin was not only a good father, but grew extremely attached to the little wolf. Unlike he is now, back then the Druin was very expressive, able to freely jest and even love. Odin himself had always been one of the smaller pups, so at first he had taken pity on the brown. However, that pity quickly turned into love, and that love was quickly shattered.
The now young wolf, named after his father Apollo, was tired from his failed attempt at hunting, so Odin figured he would catch something quick for him to eat. So the Druin left, and just as his claws were digging into a large moose, an intense fear shot through him, dislodging his claws. It came from Apollo, and then his fear was snuffed out; Odin couldn’t feel anything from the brown wolf at all. Extending his wings, he flew back as fast as he could, only to find another Druin feasting on the rest of what was the brown wolf’s leg. The pure white Druin, blood spattered on its paws and jaw, turned and smiled at him. In a soft, feminine voice, she asked, Oh… I’m sorry. Was he yours?
An overwhelming sense of loss overtook Odin, almost instantly turning to blind rage. In the wake of that rage, changes to his physical being took place. His breathing quickened, increasing the adrenaline so it flooded his system within seconds. Both obsidian eyes changed to a deranged, neon green, and his hair ignited as if it was dry timber. Obsidian claws burning white hot, he shot at her, a bloodcurdling cross between a snarl and a roar erupting from parted maroon teeth. He asked no questions to her, just acted.
For him, it was like watching someone else…
His heated claws tore at her flesh, leaving giant, nearly-cauterized wounds all over her body. Being completely surprised by his sudden violence, it took her a long while to be able to fight back. However, she managed to sink her teeth into the right side of his snout. When he tore her off of him, she took a chunk with her. Snarling in fury at having to taste his own blood, he swung his claw out and caught her jaw. Digging in his claws, he ripped her lower jaw clean off. A second blow turned her skull into mash. Odin then proceeded to tear off the limbs from the dead body and tear her stomach open with his teeth; bad idea.
While tearing off bits and pieces, he came to Apollo’s body, barely digested, but he didn’t notice it was the wolf he had loved. His top right horn inadvertently impaled Apollo’s head. Still in his blind rage, Odin didn’t realize that it couldn’t hurt him. Rearing up on his hind legs, he shook his head, trying to get rid of the ‘threat’ on his horn. When he couldn’t get it off, he reached up to try and take it off himself; another bad idea. Violently, he swatted at his horn. Three of his still white hot claws dug into his horn and, thinking it was this ‘threat’, he pulled downward.
At first he didn’t feel any pain, nor the blindness suddenly occurring in his right eye; the adrenaline pumping through his system made sure of that. But in a few minutes he began to feel pain in that eye and a burning sensation in his right ear. The pain became so unbearable that it snapped him out of his blind rage and sent him, howling and suddenly exhausted, to the nearest body of water. Finding a small pond, he submersed his head completely, the frigid water helping to sooth the burning. When he surfaced, he drew back from the water, allowing it to calm so he could see himself in the reflection; horrified and appalled just aren’t strong enough words to express how he felt.
All four scars were cauterized, permanent, and all that remained of his right ear was a stump. His horn, on which still held Apollo’s head and which he promptly threw off, was nicked in three places. Only when he saw his eye did he realized that he could barely see out of it, but what he could see shocked him. Instead of his reflection, he saw a redish aura. Hints of black traversed it every once in a while, and once he caught a flicker of green. This would be his aura.
He then turned his head, looking to the missing chunk of skin on his snout. It was still bleeding slightly, so Odin figured he might as well cauterize that too, as a reminder. It didn’t take him long to figure out how to re-heat his claws, and as soon as he had finished he dunked his head in the water.
Sitting beside the pond, Odin forced himself to relive his actions before he fell asleep. The emotions flowed back to him, but this time he kept them in check. Apollo, who he had loved like a son, was dead; his disfigured head lying not five feet from him. Odin had gone berserk and tore the bitch that ate him apart, though he himself didn’t eat any part of her. He had inadvertently mauled the right side of his face and tore his ear off… all because Apollo had died. Tears streaking the left side of his face, he turned and set his son’s head ablaze before collapsing. He has never cried since.
Odin fell in and out of consciousness for the next few days, not being able to bring himself to his feet for nearly a week. When he could finally stand, he tossed Apollo’s ashes into the small pond, marking his gravesite; to this day Odin cannot bring himself to visit it or the place he massacred that Druin. He vowed to try and contain his emotions so something like this didn’t happen again. But of course, it did.
Since then Odin has only turned berserker three more times. Once when some smart ass wolf riled himself up enough by making fun of his scars, he killed him and the entire pack with minimal scratches; once when a werewolf insulted his mother, his entrails were splattered over a 10m radius; once when a Druin party described the probable killing of his father, he killed them all but came out with deep wounds that didn’t scar.
After the fourth time, about when he was 500, Odin had his emotions under such strict control, he became as he is now. His once beautiful voice became monotone; his once expressive visage became stone. Out of consideration, he carefully covered the right side of his face, including his stump of an ear, with the red from his mane, layering it thickly over the years. He has now wondered back into these lands, the searching for his brothers and sister his first priority...
