Well, not entirely, but...it's still a fun game. xD
So, everyone loves MMORPGs right? Well, I do anyways. Though I tend to eventually stop playing cause of lack of friends/interactivity between intelligent people that I know. I can't remember who first brought about the idea, but it was randomly decided to find an mmo that was appealing and suited our gamer needs and have everyone sign up on it. Thus, instant party friends! Unfortunately not everyone's computer can handle it, but if you can and haven't tried already, go for it! >D Rappelz was chosen because mainly, it's FREE(supported by optional item malls, similar to gaia), has a vast range of Classes, and a unique and fun pet syste available for all classes and is visually appealing with a realistic style.
SO members who've gotten the game up and running include Myself, Fely, Z, Blitzy and Delytia. In game we are:
Me(Wom)- Kyate
Fely- Felypsa
Z- ZaneyZye
Blitzy- ?(Don't know xD)
Delytia- Delytia
Some random screenshots of me, Fely and Z partying together. x3

How to Install:
Rappels is a download game, yes. gPotato(the game's company who has made several other games that I've actually played before) is a free mmo gaming company that have been around for some years. All their games come with a gameguard protection program, so viruses and the like are not to be worried about.
In order to run Rappelz(or most any MMOs) you need to first make sure you have: DirectX 9.0c - Microsoft Download Link | DirectX FileHippo
From my understanding, DirectX is a sound program, but it's the backbone necessary for running any mmo game. It needs to be installed on your computer before you install the game, otherwise it won't run. I've included the official Microsoft download link, as well as an alternative for the rare chance that someone actually doesn't have a microsoft windows OS.
After installing DirectX 9, you can start downloading the game(or install it if you already have the .exe file. Click Here for Rappelz Download links Page
While you can get the game from any of the links they provide, I used and recommend you use: Big Download's link. It was faster for me and wasn't corrupt. (File planet requires a login and Curse took over 2 hours to download and when it was finished, the file was outdated and wouldn't run. ._. )
Once you've downloaded the game, you can start installing it. Find the file where ever you saved it too and start installing the game. Once it's installed, you'll only use the files found in your C:\Program Files\GALA-NET\Rappelz folder. If it installed anything to your desktop by mistake, you can ignore and possibly even delete those files(or drag them into the Rappelz folder if they aren't already in there).
Now, if you're using Vista, you have an extra step. Find The Launcher.exe file in your Rappelz folder and right click on it, then click on Properties. Once in Properties, click the Compatibility tab. Near the bottom under "Privilege Level" Check the box that says, "Run this program as an administrator". Click ok and everything should work.
Once installed, double click the Launcher that's in your Rappelz folder and it should connect and start patching. "Patching" means that it's pre-loading the game information. Basically everything you see and do in the game is a "patch" of information. It'll take longer the first time, because your computer's never seen it before. After that, the second and beyond will take mere seconds(depending on your machine) and will only patch when there's been an update to the game.
If your computer's taking too long to patch, or if the patcher is freezing up, on the Rappelz Download page scroll down to find the Manual Patch Download. Download all the patches they show you into your Rappelz folder(or anywhere is fine) and extract them into your Rappelz folder if you didn't already have them in there. After that, load the launcher and it should go right into the game. :3
We've decided on the Bahamut server, so pick that as your server if you want to meet with everyone. If you need any help, or have any questions, feel free to message or ask me!
