HUMAN/ANTHRO WORLDS CHARACTER
Name: Dameon Ray
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Sub-Race: Spirit
Appearance: He's a tallish man, six feet; lanky, but if he cared to flex his muscles you'd see how truly in shape he is; roughly handsome, clean-shaven not not necessarily clean. The first thing people notice about him is his clear green eyes, like emerald crystals, so bright and mesmerizing. He has dirty-blonde/light brown hair, which he always keeps hidden under a wide-brimmed, worn-out, cowboy hat. He dresses discreetly, wearing light brown or tan trousers and a tunic, or sometimes just a plain dirt-colored shirt, a trenchcoat if it's cold. He's usually armed; guns in his holster or knives in wrist-sheaths and ankle-sheaths.
Personality: When you first see him, Dameon comes off as a cute charmer, eager to please, slow to anger, and surprisingly tolerant of others. He speaks with a slow drawl, and always seems as though he's mocking you. It appears as if he thinks the whole world is amusing. However, Dameon has much more depth to him than that. He loves animals, and is naturally understanding of them, and indeed values them higher than some humans he knows. He doesn't pick fights. He usually looks after "number one," but there are a few things in the world that he'd devote himself to completely.
Magic: Earth
Spells:
He doesn't have exact spells, per se, more like a general mesmerizing aura about him, especially if you look into his pure green eyes. For this reason, people generally like him without knowing why.
Thanks to his earth spirit blood, animals of all sorts are attracted to him and will often perform tasks for him if he asks. There have been situations where animals rush to his aid if he needs backup.
Skills: Dameon is pretty handy with knives and quick with a handgun, though he hardly ever resorts to them; he prefers to settle his fights hand-to-hand. The weapons are only for defense, or so he says.
Biography: He was born just Dameon, an orphaned "street rat" in a small town called Jenseit, which is bigger than the Village of Hayabusa yet much smaller than the City of Thor. He was very savvy in the ways of surviving on his own: he sometimes stole, but never harmed anybody. A traveler passing through, a kind man named Jerome, took Dameon with him as an assistant. He taught Dameon how to read, write, and defend himself. Jerome's last name was Ray, which Dameon quickly adopted as his own.
To live, Jerome and Dameon had to do some hunting. Jerome quickly noticed how Dameon seemed to affect the animals, making hunting much easier. The animals would calm down if Dameon was near, something which the boy noticed but never remarked upon. Dameon spent most of his life with his foster-father Jerome, until disaster struck.
Jerome was bitten by a very venomous snake, who vanished the moment Dameon appeared on the scene. Dameon tried to help him, but Jerome perished within the hour. On his own, Dameon had no choice but to travel on alone. He was a young teenager at this point. He wandered without any particular destination, just traveling to survive. He would get jobs, but he would never hold on to them for very long. Sometimes Dameon went by different names to protect his identity. He would sometimes have to resort to hunting in order to survive, but avoided it whenever possible. It seemed unfair to him, for the prey animals would approach him without fear, and he would kill them as they stood.
When he wandered into Thor, he wasn't expecting to be drawn in for very long. He found a job as a paper salesman -- his persuasive eyes and easy charm were very good for selling products -- and was living the normal life. Until he started reading more and more about a certain politician named Jenkins. One day, while over at a coworker's house, he got into argument with him about Jenkins' policies. His coworker's cleaning woman, Tara Lopez, overheard the argument. As Dameon was leaving, she approached him and asked him if he wanted to do something about Jenkins. He agreed, and she introduced him to a group of people who were working to supplant Jenkins and also the ridiculously successful businessman Wilde, who was actually a mob boss underground. Dameon joined the network, at first tentatively, then passionately, becoming one of its core members.
He recruited a couple of people himself, including a light-fingered pickpocket named Laura and a detective nicknamed Brass. Dameon made very good friends with all of the people in the network, eventually getting an apartment to share with Tara; they were all his first family ever since Jerome had died. But then a near-invisible girl named Chameleon showed up in the picture, and that's where Dameon's adventures in Thor really took off.
(If you're really dying to know more, you can read Romance, Life, and Demons, but I warn you, it's an extremely long read.)
