Graal steps into his warm cave, the bats roosting quietly above him as he makes his silent way towards the softer dirt at the back of his den. His soft fur makes not even a rustle as he gently pads, his ears up and ready, should any others be nearby. He is tired, it has been a while now, since he had been here, and his scent had faded slightly from the land. "I should remedy that... Later..." he thinks lazily to himself. He circles his patch of dirt, then lies down. "Hran gas nort gort." he mutters, closing his eyes. "Hast hran hito..."

Thunder grinned softly as she came across Graal's cave. She shook her head softly and continued on her way. "Tu are a bene amichi." She said as she passed. Her ears forwards as she headed in the general direction of her cave. She planned on stopping at a nearby stream then heading through the forest and to her cave. She absentmindedly caught a pigeon that wasn't paying attention and stopped to eat it. When she finished she stood and stretched contemplating poking at him to wake him up. She walked over to him and began prodding him with her nose to see what would happen.

Graal snaps open his eyes, flashing red as they reflected the light around him. His muscles are tense as he looks up at Thunder, then around his small cave, the bats glaring down at the two wolves, dotting the ceiling with a thousand tiny glowing stars. He relaxes as he wakes up. "Salenda nort hito." He sighs, reassuring himself, but not yet moving from his comfy position. He looks up at Thunder, blinking slowly as he mentally changes back into the language of his new home in Shinkou Ookami. He cocks his ears curiously, a silent question to her presence, so as not to aggravate the already annoyed bats, hanging in ample numbers right above their heads.

She turned her head in the direction of the castle and her cave as way of silent explanation. She then looked at him and the bats. She rose to her full height and trotted out glaring at the angry bats. She then sat and waited for Graal. At least Graal didn't bite her nose, that had happened a few times but not always. She grinned at him. The sun was bright and warm with all sorts of animals romping about unaware of the two.

(( I swear, every time I go to post here, I get distracted >_< okay, no distractions now, it's almost midnight, everyone else is in bed. Let's role. ))
Graal rises to his feet, stretching out his lean muscles, although he is not quite at his prime condition, he looks a lot better than he did when Thunder first found him, in this very cave, starving and freezing; he looks up through where the human's smoke may have left the small cave-like structure, sun dancing on his greying muzzle as he lets out a silent yawn.
He pads quietly next to Thunder, smiling softly. "Yes Drappa?" he asks, his voice warm, inviting her to set the topic of the conversation, as per the customs of his far-off lands. He sits down, not looking at her, but lifting his face to the sun, basking it it's warmth.

"Yes Messere Graal?" She said in reply allowing her accent to show. "Back to Toai is it?" She asked not very surprised. She then began twisting herself into odd positions. This showed how flexible she was as she pushed the limits of her wolf skeleton. She then straightened out and shook herself to alow feeling to return to certain areas of her body. She then sat facing away from Graal and flipped her head back looking at Graal in a very nearly upside-down position.

(( Big Al says dogs can't look up ))
Graal smiles, his ears twitching curiously at her accent. "Aye, Drappa, back to Toai." he says, watching her flex her agile body with a wry grin on his face. "Is she showing herself off to me of all Vulfs?" he wonders, smile spreading slightly as his tail begins to wag, but all he says is a straight faced "Very nice Thunder, you must have spent many moons perfecting your body for that performance." He smiles wider, licking her snout fondly before continuing on talking, "This seems, to me, the only unclaimed but hospitable area, the game may be more plentiful elsewhere, but the lack of prey means the competing predators, like your wildcat, are elsewhere too, meaning that we are safe for the most part."

(She's not looking up. Its not her neck that allows this its her spine. She's not a dog either. My dog Madiline can look up though so I don't know what kind of dog he's talking about.)
"Lots of training as a pup. Not so much now though." she said. "There are plenty of unclaimed and hospitable ares with less prey than others. It's just your taste. Wolves who prefer the heat often go to the firewells or those such as me that are adapted to the cold can survive easily in Sub-serin. It just seems Toai has a milder climate that mixes the two." She said looking around at the various plants.

(( it's a movie reference. Also, it's your turn on the "Where do we go from here?" thread ))
Graal stretches his paws out in front of him, arching his back like a cat. "I guess you're right, this place just reminds me of my old home, apart from the lack of my flower." he says, inviting Thunder to question him. He stands up and pads over to Thunder with a wide, cheeky grin on his face, leaning over her so that she can't straighten herself without first pushing him away, thus falling over in the process. "And what is it like in the land you are from, Drappa?"

She chuckles at his tactic and curves around the other way into a ball the way a cat would and straightened but kept her legs bent so she wouldn't hit Graal's chin. She stepped out from under him and rose to her full height again. She then sat down and said "Were I am from the winters are cold and harsh like in Sub-serin then spring becomes like Toai then it becomes very hot and all the wolves must quickly shed or die in the heat then the cold returns quickly retaking the lands." This meant every wolf from there was easily adaptable and could pretty much live in any kind of environment. In the heat she would lose her thick undercoat and have slick water-proof fur that made it easier to survive in the harsh heat of summer and allow one to swim in the abundant water that was once ice and snow.

Graal chuckles as she squirms from under him, resisting the urge to nip and play with her, "Acting like a pup will get me nowhere." he thinks to himself, smiling at Thunder. "And your land would have been the complete opposite of my lands, where the temperature was alway ls only slightly warmer than this, except in the winters where snow would fall for a whole moon, then the temperature at night was too low even for the biggest Vulf. We relied on our friends, the Vulfen, to help us survive. We should have guessed that such reliance makes us weak, and it was all the more easy to betray us to Man." he ends, bitter resentment in his voice. He looks apologetically at Thunder, ears back and tail flat on the ground as it wags, "Please, tell me more."

"About the weather there is not much to tell. The humans never seek to take down our forests but stay in there big stone settlements and open grassland. They do seem to enjoy bird and deer though but they will only go so far into the forest. Man holds no threat to wolves unless one is stupid enough to walk into their big stone settlements. I hardly saw them when I lived in my homeland so I don't know why humans would do what they did to your land." when she finished she shifted. But peace with one thing means war with another she thought ears flicking back for just a second. "What do you wish to know of? History? Pack function? Landscape?" she asked she could avoid personal matters for now at least.

(( Can't think of much to put o.o ))
He smiles his face rising to bask in the warm light and cool wind. "I'd like to know more about your old pack, how you fit in, what role did you play, those sorts of things." he murmurs. "Unless, of course, you'd prefer me to start?" he offers, listening to the gentle caress of wind among old branches.

"I was a Gnaw wolf. A traveler, messenger, healer, and an artist. Gnaw wolves were very important but there is few. I was split from my family when I was still training. A pack with a very old gnaw wolf who was growing tired of her job. She taught me the rest and I began becoming very important to all the packs that I traveled to. In short time I became one of the most respected gnaw wolves of those packs. One day I decided the packs could live without the fastest messenger and one of the artists they had come to love. So I left. As far as rank goes it was pretty basic with a few odds and ends added in." She said. And I blew it.. She thought ear twitching slightly. Welcome to interrogation time Thunder. She thought waiting to hear what came out of Graals mouth next.

Graal watches her closely as she speaks, eyes dancing over her face as she finishes, putting what he already knew of her together with what he had just been told. "She was split from her family, (driven off perhaps?), she is alone now, (Would it be death, or simply time to part?), she was very respected, what could have made her leave, life in a pack is much easier than life as a Kerl (Or is it?)" Thoughts rush through Graal's head as he stares at Thunder, his expression could be mistaken for a glare. He turns his thoughts from the past and back to her present. "And you see being a Kerl, being here, now, as a failure of sorts? Some reason to find shame in yourself?" he asks, face softening with concern, "Why?"
