A New Day to Learn (Thunder/Midnight/open)

( Ooc: Hey guys, taking a stab in the dark with this. Anyone is free to join this one I'll make another thread if anyone has another pup or idea for me. Estella is a mori, so pups are more than welcome.. anyway here goes )

Estella paced back and forth between the trees. It was a fairly warm day, for a fall day that was. The colors were all blended together, reds, oranges, browns, greens... usually she would be daydreaming on her favorite rock, but today was different. Today she had a pup or two under her watch, but as she waited for them to arrive she started to think about what to do. Normally she would be their teacher and wander the pack lands... but today felt different. There hadn't been any recent sightings of danger in the pack lands, but something felt off today.

Perhaps a rogue wolf was about in the lands.. she did not feel too safe parading the little nes around and teaching them new things when someone new could be around. She wasn't much of a fighter either, and depending on how many pups showed up she was certain they couldn't all keep up with her short, fast legs. She continued to pace, wondering if she should alert someone to her thoughts, but perhaps they would think it silly.

[thunder]

Thunder was up in a tree not to far away having her own thoughts. Why has no one ever attacked me here? Is it because I'm friendly? Is it my gender? How often I am here? My foreign homeland, or something else? Eh. I've been slipping in and out making friends, never stealing and in general simply wandering. I'm certain a few wolves here might even stand up for me.

Oh. Well now she knows I'm here, lying boredly on a big fat branch in no position to move quickly at all, she thought as the wind changed. "Hello." She said with a yawn clearly looking for conversation.

[Midnight]

'Odd...never seen this land before...' Midnight thought, looking around. It was pretty, but she really didn't recognize it. Being a loner, she prided herself on knowing every piece of the land and the trees on it.
It was probably why she almost got found.
Walking along, trying to memorize the land, she literally stepped right into the heart of some pack. She froze, as did most of the wolves in the clearing. She darted back out, and scrambled up a tree. About a half-second later it seemed like the whole pack streamed out, scattered, and were, obviously, looking for her. She calmed her breathing, and then looked into the camp. One of the females was pacing, seemingly unaffected of the commotion. It looked like she was the only one left in the clearing.
She called down to her.

"Hey. You're gonna dig a rut with all that pacing.

[Tiga]

Estella jumped as voices called out to her, her fur bristled a bit and a slight growl escaped her muzzle. Shaking it off as her eyes landed on two wolves in trees not too far from her. One looked familiar while the other was not so much. Righting herself she frowned, "I smell trouble in the air..." Her voice showing her unease. She sat down, her eyes drifting from one wolf to the other.

"Did either of you happen to scent the change in the air not too long ago?" She hoped to stay in a light mood, she wasn't much up for a fight so early in the afternoon. She was wary however, never really setteling just yet. She wasn't sure if either of them could be a threat. One she thought she had seen around the lands before, but the other was keeping her on edge. She didn't care much for her tone either. "Perhaps I want to dig a rut then. If it'll keep the pups safe, then I'm willing to do so." She took on a more protective tone, trying to feel the wolf out a bit, to see if she would be a threat to her or the pack.

[thunder]

"Well, the direction of the wind changed so you're probably smelling me." She said smiling. She stared at Midnight and shook her head. "Pups always find something mischievous to do." She said still smiling.

Thunder came down but stopped at the stranger's tone of voice. "I'm not here to hurt anyone, start any fight, steal any prey, or make an enemy." Her voice was soft and gentle as she let her accent tinge her words to the point it was clear she spoke another language and knew this one well and make her words stay clear. She looked at her clearly slightly hurt that someone thought she would hurt anyone unless out of necessity.

[Midnight]

"Well someones in a sour mood. We merely came to help with the pups. I love 'em.: she replied. Then, somewhatt to herself she said, "They seem fascinated by my spots..." she wondered about the packs reaction to her. They must really not like strangers. They probably haven't even seen a winged wolf before, either.

[Tiga]

Estella sighed and finally calmed herself, the two both seemed harmless enough. "Sorry sorry.. I've just been on edge today. I'm supposed to be taking care of a few pups today, but they haven't come back yet. I get all mothery when I'm around the pups." Shaking her head she lifted her nose to the air and took in a sample. It smelled rather clean aside from these two. Perhaps the pups had gotten into miscief along the way and were just late in coming.

"No matter." She stood up and shook the unease from her coat. "I'd appreciate the help then. If they ever arrive, I was going to take them around the territory and teach them how to scent out prey." She smiled at the two, hoping her appology was accepted. "I'm Estella, pleasure to meet you."

[thunder]

"Thunder. Pleasure to meet you too. I think I've seen you before. It wouldn't be that surprising if I have." She grinned all of the hurt was gone from her face. "Maybe we could hunt down the pups in the spirit of the lesson." She suggested lightheartedly. New face,new friend. All good. She turned to Midnight. "Yes, because Shasta really cared about your fur." She said sarcastically. Shaking her head and snickering.

[Tiga]

Estella nodded, "Mmm, I knew your scent before you spoke, it was familiar." She smiled lightly, hunting down the pups sounded odd, but she knew exacly what the female meant, and it sounded like a good idea, just in case of course. If there really was danger in the pack lands then she would want to be the first to know. "Alright, I guess that sounds like a good idea. If they are off on some adventure, then they could be in the area." She looked around and sniffed the air, but again all she could scent were the two with her now.

[Midnight]

"Shes not the only pup I know, Thunder. Gosh. Oh, and I'm Midnight by the way." She said. She sniffed the air. "The pups are over there, thinking about tossing around a squirrel. Not the best of ideas." she said. In truth, she was excited that she was gonna watch pups. She liked them, and they seemed to like her. She just hoped the rest of the pack wouldn't come back for a while, at least.

[Tiga]

Estella smiled, even if they were not all friends yet, now that she got to know their names, they could be nice. She turned the way Midnight was facing and sniffed the air. Sure enough the scent of Shinkou came to her nose. "Oh dear... they should know better than that!" She frowned before sprinting off in the direction she scented the pups in. The scent of a squirrel mingled with theirs.

"Pups, no.. no.. leave the squirrel alone." She called out as she reached them without breaking a sweat. "The squirrels don't take kindly to being tossed about." Or eaten, she added to herself.

[thunder]

Thunder snickered lightly. The pups clearly had found a very small squirrel and had began tossing it around. She followed Estella with a grin. She looked down at the pups then laid down. "Now, the squirrel is helpless and would have been a good catch for you pups, but when you catch something or find it you really shouldn't play with it. But if you want something to play with..." She trailed off then reached her paw out to scoop up one of them.

[Midnight]

Oh, of course! This was Shinkou land! 'Why didn't I know that?' Midnight thought. Maybe she wasn't as good with the land as she thought. 'Mustov been a while since I've been here…'
"Well I think since all three of us are here we could take them out. It'll be safer with more eyes and ears." she said to Estella.
