HUMAN/ ANTHRO WORLDS CHARACTER
(One quick thing before you read any farther: a ton of this was typed
on a very bumpy bus, so if you find any extremely strange errors,
sorry!)
Name: Guadalupa No Sé (pronounced "no say", means "I don't
know" in Spanish) (since she doesn't know her parents' surname), known
to all as Lupa (Guadalupa (or -lupe) means "river wolf", so she's
aptly named! The strange part, though, is that her parents never knew
she had water magic...)
Gender: Female
Race: Biped Wolf
Sub-Race: N/A
Breed: Grey/Winged/Biped
Appearance: Lupa is a "medium"-ish grey-black with markings
resembling those of a Siberian husky (light gray muzzle, eye spots,
tail tip, "socks" on all 4 paws). Her wings are fully grown, the same
grey as her markings, and feathered. Her eyes are a bright, very
noticable green. She is manacled on one paw (front left), and has an
old chain around her neck. The manacle has the word "Bind" engraved on
it in ancient runes (see attached picture, since I can't type it), and
a strange, glowing stone (see bio) about the size of a small pearl is
set over the runes. If she tries to take it off, the letters glow red
and blister her. She generally wears tunics, breeches, and tall boots
(probably deerhide) made for comfort and noiselessness, not fashion.
She has steel plate armor for ceremonies, but if she's doing real
work, she wears reinforced leather armor (breastplate, gauntlets
(fingerless), leg guards, arm guards) made with a thin ,flexible layer
of brass between the two leather layers. She has a chain mail tunic,
but she avoids using it because of the racket it makes.
She carries throwing knives, regular knives, and a set of extra-
strength brass knives (for blocking sword strikes) on her person at
all times (yes, even in sleep; you can never be too careful, she says).
When she's out and about, she carries a very sharp, very well-made
hand-and-a-half (can be used with either one or both hands) sword. It
has a solid brass hilt with a small emerald in the hilt, which she
uses to store energy for magic use; a 1/3-brass-1/3-iron-1/3-steel
blade; a simple wrapped leather grip; an iron crosspiece with steel
"ends" (see picture), because she always ends up in a situation where
she's in an X-block and has to slide her sword up, hold her opponent's
sword on her sword's hilt, and either a) take out a knife, b) kick
them over to finish the fight, or c) transform and claw at them, so
that crosspiece has to be really strong; a channel to direct blood
flow; and its name, Deathsinger (commonly known as The Singer, or
Singer), is carved in runes on the crosspiece. It also has a(n
intentionally made) tiny notch in the tip; she claims that it's there
so that she can rip things the sword is embedded in, but it actually
is there because it creates the whistling noise that kriginally gave
Deathsinger its nickname.
When she's traveling or in a big city, she carries her spear/scythe
crossbreed, the Emerald Phoenix. It's 6 1/2 feet long; 6 feet of solid
hardwood over steel, with inlaid emerald (magically protected, also
used to store energy for magic use) made to look like something clawed
the wood and revealed emerald underneath. The last 1/2 foot is a
wicked sharp leaf-shaped blade made out of the strongest steel money
can buy (because you can see the ripples) with a channel running down
the middle and (at the base) off to the right to direct blood flow.
Its name is not displayed.
Personality: Lupa is like her magic- she goes with the flow.
The phrase "Still waters run deep" applies to Lupa extremely well. The
confusing part about her, though, is that (on occasion) she turns into
a babbling brook. If she's nervous or around friends, this is likely
to happen. Being an artist, she often drifts off into her own world,
so if you see her sitting there with a blank look on her face, don't
worry- she's not dead, she's only dreaming (is it copyright
infringement if you kinda quote a line from a Beatles song but you
make it a bit different?). If she is annoyed, but jot angry enough to
actually say it, she will hisd between her canines (yes, in all forms)
to create a hissing sort if sigh.
Magic: Healing and Water
-Spells: (Y'know, one would think I learned not to do
this when I spent a half hour on Tala's, but oh well.)
Healing:
- Quick Heal: heals minor injuries over a couple minutes. She can
heal minor external bruises to things the equivalent of a papercut
with this spell. She hasn't ever had to use this spell enough to be
able to judge how much she can do, but her guess is she can heal about
100 things with this before taking a breather. - Major Heal: heals EXTREMELY serious injuries as fast as possible,
drawing power from any nearby sources except the injured person(s).
She can only do this about once per 2 days.
Water:
- Follow Me: water from any source follows mental directions Lupa
gives (e.g. Form a wall around me; Hit that arrow out of the
air; Form into a statue of that person and freeze into it;
etc.). If she asks, it will stay there, drawing energy from anything
living around it (within reason). Lasting time depends on the thing. A
wall, per say, would last as long as she wants it to, or about 5 hrs.,
at which time she'd faint; a statue, depending on size and composition
(she makes them with mud in them, freezes them, or just leaves them
watery), lasts as long as she wants it to, or -if she ties it to its
environment- as long as the things around it last. - Invisible Towel: dries the person(s) the spell is directed to off.
She can dry 3 people at the same time; any more, and she has to draw
energy from another source. - (I AM Your) Stepping Stone: (aka "No, I'm Not A Prophet")
kinda solidifies the water under whoever the spell is directed at's
feet (or maybe it just makes their feet water-resistant, she's not
dure). Also works in areas that aren't specifically water (e.g. mud,
swamps). She can use for about 5 days (10 hrs. per day) at an average
of 5 mph, or use it for a group of 3, herself included, moving the
same speed & time, for about 2 days. - Oh Look: a scrying/farseeing (not sure what you call it here)
spell; she can scry places that sre, at the most, 600 mi. away for 4
minutes. Can only be done with water, not just anything that
gas water in it.
Water+Healing
- Heal: heals "average" injuries over 1 hr. to 1 day, depending on
seriousness. Basically, all it does is tell the body's fluids to tell
the "patching-up system" to get a move on, so she can do this for a really long time. - Absorb: absorbs energy through any living things nearby (through
the water that's invietably inside them) and uses it to "recharge"
Lupa's energy store. (I put it on this list because it's not really a
water spell since it gives her energy, but it's not a hraling spell
either.) This spell takes no energy.
I'll add more, probably.
Skills: Lupa is a wonderful artist (but I'm not, so don't think
you'll get any free art out of this!), and she loves to create with
any medium. She is an endurance runner/flyer, but also somewhat of a
sprinter. As for how long she can last, it all depends on what she's
flying over. Water? She'd never have to touch down once --she just
draws energy from the water. A plain? Effortless- see her Absorb
spell. A desert? Um, NO! She is also a very good singer, and can play the lute like no other (that's a hyperbole, not trying to godmodel). She
Biography: Lupa was, at the age of 18 mo., traded for dinner.
(Her family was pretty poor, and not the best people out there.) She
was sold into slavery after that, and had to work in dangerous,
crowded, airless mineshafts to find asterite (a (made-up) precious
stone that comes in monochrome shades only -excepting the time years
ago when a pink strain was discovered-, and is a relatively
nondescript stone until exposed to moonlight, at which time the stone
begins to emit a glow to rival that of a lightbulb today. The stones
never lose their light-giving capability, even when broken, smashed
into powder, put into constant darkness for a century... There was a
big fund for scientists studying the asterite's abilities.). Two years
of forced labor with little food (and a taste of the whip often) or
water passed. She made her escape over a few months, digging a side
tunnel that angled upward so slightly that nobody noticed, while also
digging her way into the overseer's confidence, so that by the time
her tunnel out could be finished, she was allowed "offline working
time" (time working off of her chain, which was the only reason she
hadn't escaped already) and was able to slip out. She fought a battle
for her life with about 5 guards (she's not sure- in the heat of
battle, who stops to count?), and she managed to escape. Sadly, she had to kill one of them to get out, and this still haunts her. She ran far away from there, with no idea where she was going. She became a wanderer/jack-of-all-trades, and also a rather accomplished bard-ess. She has now come to the SO world.
I've never posted an anthro character, please give me feedback!!!!
