Ohms are enormous wolves, but not very common or well known. Only a few Ohms remain after the Great War, for most were slaughtered. A few escaped the war, and eight-hundred years later, managed to keep their species growing--albeit slowly.
History: Ohms were one of many that came to the aide of the Shinkou Ookami pack in an attempt to drive the Druins and other demons away. When Shinkou Ookami claimed victory, and all the demons and Druins were driven away, the Druins plotted to destroy their thriving competition--the Ohm. So they set off to seek the Ohm nation, and single-handedly slaughtered all they could find, leaving a few hundred Ohms left. The reason the Druins wanted the Ohms destroyed is not just competition, but they viewed the Ohms as a threat and necessary to annihilate. Since then, the Ohms vowed vengeance and declared an eternal blood-feud. "A blood feud is a feud with a cycle of retaliatory violence, with the relatives of someone who has been killed or otherwise wronged or dishonored seeking vengeance by killing or otherwise physically punishing the culprits or their relatives." The feud is so deep-rooted that the Ohms and Druins cannot remember who started the feud.
Where there are thousands of Druins, only a a few hundred Ohms remain, steadily trying to rebuild their lives, grow their community, and plot the Druins' great downfall.
Age: The Ohms' manes grow longer as they age. The eldest Ohm's mane will be long enough to touch the ground. The mane stops growing when the Ohm is near death (myth). A female's mane ages slower than males. Ohms can live for a very long time; they are so rare that it is still unknown as to when an Ohm naturally dies.
Diet: Ohms eat the same thing as normal wolves, but because of their height and body mass, require more than just a caribou.
Appearance: Enormous "super" wolves with excessive fluff around their necks, bellies, and tails, always bearing some form of wings. They are burly and can pack quite a wallop. Where their strength is godlike, their speed is not. The size of an Ohm can vary, and it's rare to find an Ohm less than 5 ft.
Personalities: All Ohm personalities vary.
Strength: Ohms are well known to be exceptionally powerful, especially when it comes to brawn. Due to their size, they cannot run that fast. Their powers and weaknesses MUST be reasonably balanced!
Colors: Their bodies and eyes vary in color.
Height:No more than 6.9 ft or under.
Language: Ohmish. Ohms have a beautiful form of language which flows like the breath of wind.
Powers: All Ohms can bear only one element at a time.
Wings: All Ohms are born with wings (and they do not have the ability to disappear and reappear at will like most wolves do). An Ohm born without wings is a thing unheard of.
Beliefs: Henotheism, which means that Ohms believe in more than one deity, but only one is supreme. They also think of the Spirits as a form of minor deities.
Breeding: Ohms mate for life, but oddly, have a hard time successfully breeding, which is perhaps why their species is on the brink of extinction. Female Ohms become [grrr]ually mature at around 3-4 years of age, and can breed once a year. Males become [grrr]ually mature around the same time females do.
Ohms may breed with: Anything from the canine family
Can others use this species with/without permission?: Everyone must have MY specific permission to be able to create one Ohm character. If an Ohm character is expecting pups, I would like to be notified (because that means new Ohm characters to put on my list!)
