The Moondogs, or in their language, the Taekra are special creatures in their own right. For starters, they have their own civilization on one of the many moons orbiting the world of which Shinkou Ookami is in, thus their name, Moondog.

History: Taekras keep good records of their past. Most say that they have existed for thousands of years, and have descended from doglike creatures that first existed on one of the moons.
Age: Moondogs can live as long or even longer than humans; 90-130 years. Moondogs become mature at around 7 years of age.
Diet: The Moondogs can eat almost anything edible.
The Rainbow Dog and Moonchild
Appearance: Moondogs are not wolves, but are canine and pack animals with powerful family bonds, making them capable to join almost any canine pack. Their behavior is close to a wolf, for Moondogs can howl, but unlike the wolf, they can bark. They are slender and resemble the body of greyhounds, except they have extremely long, slender, rabbit-like ears (in some cases, these ears may flop) and a very long, slender tail that resembles a unicorn's. A male's tail is thicker and longer, and they use this as a banner to attract the opposite sex. Every Moondog possesses six fingers--four toes on each paw, and two dew-claws. Their teeth structure is unique as they have no teeth for grinding. Every tooth is sharp and serrated, used only for tearing up food and swallowing them in small bites. Their internal structure is made up of very tough stuff, so that anything they swallow won't harm them.

Colors: Their bodies and eyes vary in color. They are capable of bearing markings.

- Full-bred Moondog: 3-4 ft.
- 1/2, or Half-Moondog: 3 ft.
- 1/3 Moondog: 3 ft.
- 1/4 Moondog: 3 ft.
Tekkatta, part Moondog & part Druin & part Demon
Language: Any
Powers: Moondogs are known for their psychic abilities. No record of possessing other abilities are known, except for levitation. Moondogs levitate rather than fly (they never have wings).
Wings: Moondogs levitate, therefore they do not need wings.
Beliefs: Their beliefs vary.
Breeding: Female Moondogs can give birth to one to two pups.
Moondogs may breed with: Any wolf specie
Can others use this species with/without permission?: Feel free to create a Moondog as long as you credit me somewhere!
