the Glaezestern wolf
Pronunciation: GLAI-zuh-steyrn
Information: Glaezestern are an alien wolf species. They originate from the planet Kohvadohm, which is located in a distant galaxy, the same one from which Vekerukkuheiox originate.
Appearance: Glaezestern do have "fur," though the strands are very fine and smooth and are faintly see-through. This gives their pelts an overall glasslike and translucent appearance. Most Glaezestern are equipped with body-fitting armor when they are very young; this armor is made of a special material unique to Kohvadohm, which grows as the Glaezestern grows. Therefore, it will always fit them, no matter what size they reach, and each Glaezestern will only need one set of armor in their lifetime. It is detachable, but this is difficult to do; so much so that a Glaezestern will only remove it if he absolutely has to (for cleaning and other purposes). The armor can be any shape and embellishment, depending on the Glaezestern's preference. It is very hard and protective, however. Very distinguishable about the Gleazestern is their multiple tails. Most have at least five and can have as many as twenty. The number of tails isn't significant; it's just a gene, like the color of their pelts. Their eyes are usually bright colors, like gold and blue and green and violet. Their pelts are usually warm pastel colors -- lavender, silver, white, azure, pale yellow, pink, etc. etc. Glaezestern have their own inner glow, the source of which is usually the end of their tails, their armor, and their eyes.
Average Height: 3-4'
Average Weight: 120-150 lbs
Lifespan: Glaezestern live up to about 70-80 years and age much like humans.
Magics: Glaezestern have a focus on elements having to do with earth: stone, metal, sand/glass, soil, plants, fire (as in volcanoes), etc. They usually only have one or two of these elements.
Skills: They have a natural affinity with most creatures as well. Due to their love of the earth, they are rather talented in the arts: from sculpturing to painting (their long, myriad tails make excellent brushes) to glassblowing to jewelry-making to metalwork. They also have a connection with music; they have managed to invent a few instruments that only they can play, and many of them have lovely singing voices.
Beliefs: The Glaezestern have no beliefs but for the creed that others come before the self. Though there are exceptions, most operate under total selflessness; whenever there's a soul in need, a Glaezestern will do all in his power to help.
History: The Glaezestern have lived in relative peace on their planet of Kohvadohm for most of their history. They spend most of their time taking care of their planet and advancing their societies in the creative arts. The Glaezestern have traditional storytellers and musicians. Much of their history is marked by advancement of artistic ventures. They have had the occasional battle with one another, but have generally avoided conflict.
That is, until the Vekerukkuheiox invaded.
The details of the origin of the conflict remain unclear, but the Vekerukkuheiox were after the planet of Kohvadohm for its natural resources, which the Glaezestern have of course cultivated and looked after for most of the planet's history. Out of self-defense, the Glaezestern have fought back against the cold-blooded invaders, wanting to defend their peaceful land. (Had the Vekerukkuheiox simply asked, the Glaezestern would have gladly adopted them into their society and shared their resources, but they chose a more brutal front.) The war between these two species has been going on for a very long time, with the Vekerukkuheiox in the upper hand (having more advanced technology and being generally more prepared for battle), but the Glaezestern are holding on to avoid complete defeat.
Recently, two prisoners of that war, Nahovan and Helvaryl, were imprisoned on an asteroid and sent hurling through space. They roamed the empty universe for nigh upon seven years before their meteorite crash-landed in the Asanagi Ocean of Shinkou. It is believed that other Glaezestern are fleeing their war-torn home and following in the fugitives' wake to what they believe is a more peaceful land: Shinkou Ookami.
