Name: Zostar
Gender: Male
Race: Demon
Sub-Race: Demon/Ghost
Breed: Does being a dead spirit count?
Age: He died recently, after being alive for about 400 years.
Appearance: A fearsome-looking beast, with the head of a horned dragon and the body of a wolf. He has a long, serpentine tail and great draconic wings springing from his back. In life, he was black all over, except for his eyes, which are vivid red. As a dead spirit, these colors have faded and become more grey. His eyes, however, have always remained sinister crimson.
Personality: Power-hungry and vengeance-driven, Zostar is a force to be reckoned with. He has had a goal fixed in his mind for a long time, and he will do whatever it takes to see it through. Morality does not hinder him in the slightest; he will murder, steal, swindle, manipulate, and snake his way to wherever he needs to go. He enjoys taking risks and seeing them pay off. When he fails, he gets angry and doubles his efforts to make up for it. All setbacks are only temporary -- even death.
Magic: In life, he had many elemental powers. But in death, he has only magical ability: Persuasion. Zostar has stolen the power of magical Persuasion, which means he can convince anyone and anything (both the animate and inanimate) to do whatever he wants them to do. It takes a strong will to resist the power of his seductive voice. (Though of course everything is an attempt, and as a dead spirit, he can't really travel around much.)
History: A long and complicated history for this demon lord. His father, Dranben, was a demon of high ranking -- a mighty lord and a war general, to boot -- as was his grandfather, Nordoré. Many centuries ago, both Nordoré and Dranben led their fellow demons in a fierce battle against the wolves of a faraway region. Hatred between these two races has always existed, but never was it stronger than during this era. Wolves of all species and loyalties banded together to fight off the plague of demons who threatened to destroy them. Needless to say, the then-young Zostar inherited his fellow demons' hatred for wolves.
It became personal, though, when Stormwing -- a Mutatio wolf with incredible strength -- murdered Zostar's grandfather Nordoré in the midst of battle. In rage, Dranben threw himself in with Stormwing, and they fought in a duel that reached epic proportions. In the end, however, it was wretched Stormwing who prevailed. With the murder of both of their generals, the demons soon disbanded and fled. Zostar had no choice, but he memorized the vile Stormwing's features and vowed revenge on him and all wolves.
About a century later, Zostar finally came face to face with Stormwing, who was now going by the alias the Dark Soldier. The Dark Soldier had killed many, many demons, so that the bloodlust filled his very purpose. Zostar, who had inherited his father's rank and power, confronted the Dark Soldier and told him of his vow of vengeance. The Dark Soldier appeared apathetic and even amused, and when he moved to attack him, Zostar, caught off guard, fled. He swore to himself that they would meet again, and the next time, the Dark Soldier would not prevail.
His chance came in the next century. In the distant land of Ychalgar, he led his demons against the wolves of that land, knowing that Stormwing/the Dark Soldier was there somewhere. The two met in the thick of battle, as Zostar had known they would. They recognized each other and engaged in a duel even more epic than the one between Stormwing and Dranben. Their great strength matched almost perfectly.
Then one of Zostar's cousins murdered Stormwing's friend right in plain sight. Seeing that, Stormwing was maddened by grief, and struck down Zostar so certainly that he should have died then. But he did not. Not quite. He dragged himself away to a distant place where he could recover from his grievous wounds and plot his revenge against the detestable Stormwing.
They did not meet again for about 200 years. Zostar, at his full strength again, tracked down Stormwing to the Shinkou Ookami packlands, where he was living under the name of Goth. Goth had become the wolf pack's Guardian Beta, but that meant nothing to Zostar. He attacked the wolf pack, holding several wolves hostage, all the while taunting Goth. Thanks to a bit of strategy, Goth and his fellow wolves were able to save the hostages. Then, when Zostar least expected it, Goth struck him down and made sure he was absolutely dead. Dead and no deader.
Though Zostar became confined to the world of the dead, Akunikai, he did not give up his plan to destroy Goth and the rest of wolvenkind. He managed to visit the realm of the living as a ghost for one occasion that would help set his ultimate plan in motion. During this occasion, he stole the magical power of Persuasion, and used it to begin his vengeful plot. He will have his revenge -- even if it means throwing the entire world into horrific, bloody chaos.
