Alaica - The Transcenders
Singular form: Alaica (Uh - lie - kuh)
Plural form: Alaicas (Uh - lie - kus)
As an Adjective: Alaican (Uh - lie- kuhn)
Introduction
A humanoid race, Alaicas are a ''divine'' branch of the homo sapien. The Alaicas are multiform beings, with two to three different forms, depending on whether or not they are of pure Alaican blood.
They are also referred to as The Transcenders, for some of the Alaicas have the ability to pass through the different realms of the living, including the underworld.
Breeding and Offspring
Alaicas are a branch of humans, and so have the same mating rituals, although their marriage customs are comparitively simpler to most human traditions. A single act of mating is enough to bond themselves with the other being. However, the real difference is that other mate.
Their entire culture and being encompasses the word "tolerance". Thus Alaicas have the ability to breed with any mammal, their offspring also fertile. The offspring gain most of the genes from their Alaican parent.
While these offspring are not of pure blood, they are still fully-fledged Alaicas (rather than hybrids), and have a third form-- the form of their non-Alaican parent. This form is known as the Usuncu Form, taken from "Üçüncü", the Turkish word for "third', showing the Middle Eastern influence on this race. These Alaicas may be able to travel through to the afterlife and other plains of existence.
The official term for these third formed Alaicas is "Başkai", Başkai meaning "Another" in Turkish.
For third, fourth and on generation Başkai, genetic mixing becomes unpredictable if the Alaican blood dwindles in that line. (Anyone with a third generation and on Alaican may use their imagination.)
Appearance
True Form
The Alaicas have the general anatomy of the human body, with nameless whisps imitating fire flicker from their skin, a sign of divinity and blessing granted upon their race. Their bodies are adorned with personal markings of blue(the shade of blue differs between each Transcender). It is rare, but there have been cases of mark-less Alaicas. These Alaicas are not treated any differently within their culture.
Their skin colour is always a pale beige, reason being that they haven't had to adapt to the different climates on Earth as humans have. Their irises are always purple; this can help others to identify this race in their other forms. Their hair colour is pale, but can be of any colour imaginable.
An interesting ability with their true form is their weightless entity. Almost like feathers, Alaicas seem to glide with each leap they take. Some humans have mistaken them for angels or ghosts.
Alaicas, in their True Form, bare no clothing.
*In regards to the whisps, these are simply visual. One cannot touch them, and they have no form of heat. Some think of them as mere optical illusions.

Female: 120 to 140 lbs
Male: 160 to 180 lbs
Human Form
This form is completely human. In order to assimilate with the larger mankind, Alaicas have a human side with which they can use to interact with. This form allows for any skin colour, depending on the climate the Alaicas assimilate in. One would not be able to tell the difference between an Alaica in their human form or an actual human; exception being that their eyes are purple, as mentioned above.

Usuncu Form - (Oo- soon - ku)
This form bares the anatomy of the animal of which the Başkai have inherited from, but their fur pigment is usually White, and their skin colour a slight pink. If not for their purple eyes, their blue markings, and their flame-like whisps, they would be mistaken as albinos.
There have been some exceptions to this; some have been known to show differently coloured coats or skin, with some even showing unusual markings unlike the blue. This happens most commonly in canine forms.
For the Başkai of human and Alaican origin, they would have no Usuncu Form.
*Demon Form*
Should an Alaica have a demonic parent, their Usuncu Form would simply look like a demon's offspring, as if they had no Alaican blood in them. The eyes would not be coloured purple.
Lifespan
The lifespan of the Alaicas in their true form is similar to the homo sapiens', if only a bit longer. Most Alaicas live for ninety to one hundred and twenty years. Their human form, a veil that simply covers their true form from the cultures on Earth, adopts the same lifespan.
However, if they have the blood of another mammal, their mammal form will only last as long as the animal's body would normally. That would mean if the lifespan of that mammal was ten years, then after an accumulative use of ten years in that form, their animal side would 'die', leaving only their true and human form left. It is through the death of these forms that allows the Alaicas to travel to the afterlife.
Population
The Alaican population is currently sitting at about twenty million.
Habitat
The Alaicas' main home and nation is a series of Temples drifting through the sky; usually referred to as the Shrines of Ishtar, they look only like a regular large cloud to a non-Alaican eye, but are actually large structures that hold from one to five thousand Alaicas. Each Shrine of Ishtar is considered something similar to a province or city. Many sky temples drift around the Middle East, hence there have been a lot of influences originating from that area.
Regarding politics, each temple has a Council of five people; this council are usually religious leaders who make political decisions for their community. Once every month, the Councils of each Sky Temple gather and hold a meeting concerning the politics of the entire Alaican Nation.
There are also small families and individual loners who live on Earth; either with the humans or other animals, assimilating into their culture. Alaicas are not restricted to their own species' way of life.
Beliefs
The main Alaican religion stems from the Akkadian and Babylonian Mythology and has gained influences from the different religions of humans. The Alunan religion believes in unity, tolerance and acceptance of all creatures and sentient beings.
This polytheistic religion believes that there will be an eventual end to time, and by then, all beings mortal and immortal would have united to resurrect the Mother Goddess Alunanin, and with peaceful minds, start an endless journey through the stars.
Culture
The Alaicas are a very peaceful race altogether, although individual personalities are just as different one to another as human personalities. Indeed, having lived alongside the Humans, their culture has been greatly influenced by the humans'. However, the Alaicas are a much more unified and pacifist people, and religion plays a big part in the lives of this race.
In regards to currency, the Alaicas have never caught on the monetary system and have instead relied on trade. The idea of one's property is not such a strong principle as it is in some human nations, so the idea of sharing is natural.
In regards to occupations, Alaican are revolved around their religious duties. Those that do not follow the main beliefs often end up with manual, agricultural labour or end up joining the human civilisation. But followers of the Alunan religion also may end up assimilating with other cultures, for
the Alaican society doesn't close itself up in it's own race's way of life.
Language
Alaican language is a modified form of the ancient human language, Nesili from the Middle East. However, in their Human form, they speak modern human languages depending on which region in the world they live in.The Başkai can understand the language of the animal to which they can tranform to.
Nutrition
Alaicas are vegetarians, seeing as the consumption of other beings is morally unethical in their belief system. However, if a Başkai has assimilated with the culture of their Ucuncu form, their eating habits will reflect the animal's.
History
The Alaicas' origin is mostly lost in the lores and myths. Countless stories of their beginning have been woven, but there is one story of which most of the Alaicas are aware of. This story also describes the origin of their main religion.
It is said that the Goddess of fertility and war, Ishtar, was bored with the limitations of the humans' bodies. And so, from a night of drunken stupor, She bore a child with Enki, the God of intelligence and creation. The child, Alunanin, grew up to a full grown woman within three days. The first day, Alunanin was gifted with the gift of reproduction. The second day, the gift of beauty. The third day, the gift of tolerance.
Upon the fourth day, Ishtar sent her child to the Empire of Hittites, to it's capital Hattusa, with the words, "bring me the child of a noble, but soil not your own blood with the mortal beings until the star of Ishtar shines over the skies". Being the offspring of Enki, the God of water, Alunanin came to the palace of King Suppiluliuma II through his wine glass. The Emperor, instantly taken by the divine Goddess' beauty, made love to her in his chambers. Alunanin was impregnated, and died upon the birth of the demi-god child, Alek.
Enraged from both the death of Alunanin and her disobedience, Ishtar brought upon a fire that destroyed the capital and gave the power of war to the Sea People, who conquered the Hittites in one mighty swoop.
However, the child of Alunanin, Alek, who nonetheless had the blood of a noble, was blessed by Ishtar and given sanctuary in the skies. It is said that the Alaicas are descendants of that child.
Magic
Other than their born divinity, shapeshifting and barrier crossing abilities, the Alaicas cannot assimilate with any of the magical elements. It is thought that this is the consequence of Alunanin's disobedience and the soiled blood of their race. Each day during the evening, Alunan's followers perform a full body ablution in cold water to cleanse their blood and to ask forgiveness of Ishtar for their impurities, as well as to ask Enki for assistance with daily trials. This is usually done in their human form, but any form may be used.
Fighting Abilties
Alaicas are about as strong as their form is. In their True and Human Form, they are about as strong as a human can be. In the Ucuncu Form, it depends on what animal.
