The Olu
Olus are copyright to me, Aveilthé. All graphics on this board are copyright to me unless stated otherwise. Pictures may not be used without permission.
An ancient race that lived underground for thousands of years until many centuries ago, when they began to emerge from the ground.
History: In a time not forgotten, Olus were once very powerful, enormous, immortal, and super intelligent entities that originated from a dark world underground. They were giants that walked on two legs. When their power became too great, their world fell into destruction. They used their knowledge of fantastical magic and technology, and fled their world underground, and found Shinkou Ookami and the world in which it resides, and have since prospered, but not without sacrifice. Their powers have long since waned, their bodies became smaller, they fell to their toes, their immortality abandoned them, and their population thinned, but their intelligence still remain.
Age: 25-30 years
Diet: Depends on what type of element they have.
Appearance: (See picture) Wolves of about 3 feet in height or so from paw to head. Males are typically bigger with heavier and larger horns. Their appearance relies heavily on what Spirit binds with them at birth. If an Earth Spirit binds with a newborn, that newborn will appear with green or other earthly colored fur. But when no Spirit bonds with them, that newborn will appear normal colored (i.e. black, white, grey, brown, ect). If an Olu does not find a Spirit, then it will stay with the normal colors they were born with for the rest of it's life. Their color may shift when they find their Spirit at any given time. All Olus have horns, which look identical to one another (that is how one may tell that the creature is an Olu). The horns curve and slope downwards, parallel to their muzzles. The horns may get longer and curlier with age.
Personalities: Many Olus are very intelligent and value knowledge, and are known for wanting to learn and understand their surroundings. Not only do they value knowledge, but magic as well. Their knowledge of technology is nearly extinct, however. They are powerful believers in creation, and are known to celebrate their beliefs in religious rituals (they follow the Etanus mythology). When baby Olus are born, rituals are held in honor of the birth, and hope that the Spirits may arrive and bless the baby Olus with their magic. Even though Olus are so in tune with the Spirits, they are still unable to see them unless they harbor powerful holy magic. The most important subject to an Olu is the study of astronomy. Many enjoy gazing at the stars and mapping the constellations, or else making an oddly crude telescope to find new planets. It is important to note that most Olus listed have a common personality among their elemental types, but not all are stereotypical--their personalities may vary. For example, an Electric Olu may conduct evil things while a Dark Olu attempts to use his powers for good.
Strength: Coming soon
Colors: Their colors depend on what Spirit they have.
Height: 3-4 ft
Language:
Powers: All Olus have two Spirits at a time, as long as the elements do not conflict. However, if a Spirit is ripped from an Olu's soul, they may find another--thus the Olu possesses a new power.
Wings: Only Wind Olus can have wings.
Breeding: Coming soon
Olus may breed with: Other canines
Can others use this species with/without permission?: Feel free to make one!

--> Water Olu
Dominant/Common Colors: Blue, dark blue, sea-green Recessive/Uncommon Colors: Grey, black Element: Water Natural ability: Healing Strong against: Fire Weak against: Ice About: Calm, these mysterious water Olus are naturally quiet and shy and prefer to stay deep within lakes or oceans, for not only can they materialize themselves into water, they can breathe in it for about six hours. When they emerge, they tend to avoid others purely out of shyness. But, they have an innate sense of love and loyalty to their wolf kind, and if they see someone injured, they will not hesitate to aide them in healing. Do not underestimate the power of a water Olu, for when they are angered, it takes a while to sedate their rage. They can create tidal waves and whirpools. When threatened, their coat shines and glistens with dew that permeates from their skin, similar to sweat. Their markings show up, and shimmer like the surface of water beneath the sun.
[/blockquote] --> Fire Olu
Dominant/Common Colors: Orange, Red, Yellow, Black Recessive/Uncommon Colors: White, Blue, Purple Element: Fire Natural ability: N/A Strong against: Ice, Earth, Dark Weak against: Water About: Fierce and headstrong, the Fire Olu can be a natural leader. They are social creatures with boundless energy, but with an attitude to boot. Their flame flows through their body, and when it becomes so hot, the Olu must release some of that energy by breathing fire before they overheat. They can withstand the most extreme of temperatures, and prefer to live inside volcanoes or very hot deserts. When threatened, their body becomes engulfed in flame, with stunning markings on their face and fur.
[/blockquote] --> Ice Olu
Dominant/Common Colors: White, light blue, light purple Recessive/Uncommon Colors: Black, silver, dark blue, dark purple Element: Ice Natural ability: N/A Strong against: Water, Earth Weak against: Fire About: Born accustomed to the most extreme cold, they are able to withstand ridiculously frigid temperatures. When charged with their icy powers, they bring a little mist and trail a bit of snow wherever they go. Their bodies are so cold that they are able to materialize into ice and snow, so that during a blizzard, they could ride the winds as snow, but they cannot control where they go. When threatened, their bodies double in chill, creating hard-as-an-iceberg shards of ice on their neck, spine, and tail. Their markings will also show along their fur and face, glowing like the lights of auroras.
[/blockquote] --> Earth Olu
Dominant/Common Colors: Green, Grey, Brown, Silver, Gold, Yellow, Orange Recessive/Uncommon Colors: Burnt red, sea-green blue Element: Earth (Grass, Ground) Natural ability: Fertilization Strong against: Water, Light Weak against: Ice, Fire, Wind, Dark About: Peaceful by nature, Earth Olus do not like to fight. They tend to be neutral and attempt to cease fights from happening. When they are threatened, instead of being on the offense, they will defend themselves and those they care about. They can summon vines to wrap around the enemy, or poison them. Swathed in a variety of shrubbery, they can camouflage themselves very easily in forests or grasslands. Their bodies contain fertilization chemicals that enable them to don plants on themselves. They are able to become one with plants and trees. They can also allow a dying or dead plant to come alive with a simple touch.
--> Electric Olu
Dominant/Common Colors: Black, gold, yellow, blue Recessive/Uncommon Colors: White, silver Element: Electricity Natural ability: Charge Strong against: Water Weak against: Rock About: The fastest Olu is the Electric Olu. They love to race headstrong, and have excellent freerunning abilities. Very limber, they can rush up a vast mountain in a remarkable short amount of time. Though where their running ability is great, their muscle strength is not. But they make for excellent messengers. On top of that, they value wisdom and grant good advice to those that seek it. Never cross them, however; they have a mean ability and is not afraid to fry someone they think is deserving of it. They stick to reason and rationality as much as they can.
[/blockquote] --> Dark Olu
Dominant/Common Colors: Black, dark blue, dark red, dark purple Recessive/Uncommon Colors: N/A Element: Darkness/Shadow, Necromancy, anything evil Natural ability: Psychic Strong against: Weak against: About: As a normal, plain Olu, only by sensing their aura can one tell that they are conducted by vile acts. Demons ruled by evil, they live in darkness and feed on death. They dwell in the darkest corners of the earth and taunt the living. When they change, much of their appearance is different from their original, just like most Olus. Their ears, fangs, and claws lengthen. Strange spikes rise lethally from their spines. Their eyes turn vertical, like a cat's. Even their bodies have grown--they grow five feet in height due to their transformed demon status. Their tail may change, too. Their tails usually take on the form of another animal's tail, for example; a lion, snake, devil tail, ect.
[/blockquote] Light Olu
Dominant/Common Colors: Gold, yellow, white, pink Recessive/Uncommon Colors: Red Element: Light, Holy, anything good and bright Natural ability: Astral Projection Strong against: Weak against: About: Coming soon
[/blockquote] Wind Olu
Dominant/Common Colors: White, grey Recessive/Uncommon Colors: Black, blue, red Element: Wind, Air Natural ability: Flying Strong against: Weak against: About: Noble and outgoing, Wind Olus are very loyal to those they care about. They are social and playful, and also very beautiful. When threatened, or simply wanting to fly, a pair of glorious wings burst from their backs. Beautiful markings shimmer and glow from their fur and face. Feathers don their necks and tails, making them look similar to birds. They have powerful wind attacks, and are masters of the sky.
[/blockquote] Rock Olu
Dominant/Common Colors: Rock Olus can be any color Recessive/Uncommon Colors: N/A Element: Rock Natural ability: N/A Strong against: Fire Weak against: Water About: Rock Olus are the strongest among the Olus.
