Newbies
Q: Where is the password to get into the New Profiles board?
You need to read all of the rules posts in the forum rules, all I can say is that it is in there. No, it is not hidden or invisible, it looks just like all the other rule sections found in the rules.
Q: Where is the profile posting form?
The blank template for posting a new character profile can be found here: in the rules section. All the information you need to fill one out is also explained there.
Roleplay
Q: What language do the wolves speak?
English? Or whatever language you may speak. Considering that we have winged wolves, dragons and flying orbs of light everywhere, we don't really think about the technicalities of language barriers. Wolves have been known to easily converse with even humans in the past.
Q: What language do the spirits speak?
Spirits actually cannot speak or make audible sounds(they don't have vocal cords for starters). Only specially ranked wolves in the Shinkou and Akeru packs, known as the Sho-un, can understand a spirit and they mostly describe it as being a thought or feeling projected into their heads.
Q: How do I join a pack?
Joining Shinou, Akeru or Giaku is easy. There is no requirement for characters to be accepted by the alphas, so when you create a character, you simply fill out in their profile that they are a member of whichever pack you choose. To join a member pack, simply find the pack's information page in the Pack and Roleplay Discussion board and send the leader a message or post in their thread, requesting for whichever character(s) you want to join.
Q: Can I start my own plot?
Absolutely! Start your own epic plot! We don't object to you making up a new plot, whether it's personally connected to a character, related to something in their past or a completely new idea, we don't mind. Though do take in mind that all rules apply on any characters and powers you happen to use in the plot. If you are unsure of something, or have an idea for a pack-wide plot, contact me and we can discuss it!
Q: Can I make my own pack?
Be sure to read up on the Wolf Pack Rules if you haven't already.
Anyone with the forum rank of Associated or above can create their own pack. This means you need at least 100 roleplay posts to make your own pack, which shows us you have been dedicated and active. To create a pack, simply post all the basic information needed in a new topic on the Pack & Roleplay Discussion board. This would be the pack name, pack leaders, pack members and ranks. Don't worry if you don't have members or more than one leader yet, the purpose of posting the information will allow you to recruit members to join your pack.
Q: What is a roving pack?
A: A roving pack is a pack that doesn't own a claimed territory. Packs can still exist even if they never had or no longer have a territory to claim as their home. If a pack that had once claimed a land gets defeated by another pack and loose claim to a border land territory, then they are still able to live there but they inevitably become a roving pack.
Q: Can I roleplay my lone wolf on the Shinkou/Akeru/Giaku lands?
A: Loners and pack wolves that are not Shinkou, Akeru or Giaku should respectively roleplay in The Border Land boards as this is their designated area. Wolves are instinctively territorial and will respect the invisible boundaries set down by other packs, but loners can visit if it is in the hopes that they wish to join one of those packs.
The Border Lands rules are a little different to allow member packs the freedom to be able to own a claimed territory. The claimable boards in The Border Lands are always open to roving packs and loners, even if the territory is already claimed by a pack. This is so wolves aren't constantly uprooted from their homes by a sudden change in leadership of the ruling pack.
Q: My wolf is a member of Shinkou, can I invade Akeru or Giaku?-or- My wolf is a member of one of the Border Land packs, can they invade Shinkou, Akeru or Giaku?
A: If you're going to be a member of one of the three main packs, you should read up on their history, which is available in the Shinkou Ookami Information board. Akeru and Shinkou are allied packs, meaning that they are friendly towards one another and even share their two territories. Giaku was and still is an enemy of those two packs and while they would fight a member of Shinkou, a full scale invasion can't be initiated without a staff member's approval since it would be a very big plot.
As the three main packs on the forum, Shinkou, Akeru and Giaku cannot be invaded by Border Land packs. Border Land pack wolves shouldn't even be on the Shinkou, Akeru or Giaku lands. They are not a part of the packs' plots and have no reason to be there unless they are horribly and terribly lost. As members of their own packs, they would be chased away(or killed) by Shinkou, Akeru or Giaku members since wolves are territorial.
Characters
Q: Can I create a god character?
A: Gods only exist in legends, myths and religions. While the open mythology allows wolves and all animals to pick and choose their own faiths, gods never exist as actual characters. This also means there can be no demi, semi, or half-gods and characters never come into contact with them.
Q: Can my character have green/pink/highlight/crazy colored fur/hair/skin/etc?
Your character can be any color that you can imagine, even the wolves. Being a fantasy roleplay we feel we don't need to keep to realistic pallets.
Q: Can my character be a leader or high ranking wolf of Shinkou, Akeru or Giaku?
If you want to make friends with the staff, it's best to avoid asking this question at all costs, otherwise we'll think you're just here for a power-trip. Shinkou, Akeru and Giaku are the three most populated packs on the forum, mainly because they are directly linked to the history of the board's storyline. This means there are A LOT of members and not every single one of them can be a leader on the very day they join. Needless to say, Shinkou, Akeru and Giaku leader ranks can only be earned through roleplay.
Q: Can I make a human character?
Absolutely. It's for this very reason we have Abunage, which are the local human lands. Humans brave enough to venture into Shinkou can even participate in plots with the wolves, that is if the humans don't try to kill them and if the wolves will accept their company.
Q: Does my character have to have magic or spells?
Nope! Giving your character magic or no magic at all is your choice. Just because Shinkou is all magic and fairy dust doesn't mean your character has to go with the flow. There are already many wolves in the Shinkou lands that have no magic at all(including a few of my own characters).
