He was welcome into these lands.
Thanks to the soft nature of the Empress, he and his followers were allowed to stay. He had promised it was only for a short time and that in the mean time, they would abide by all their rules and help protect their lands as if they were truly their own. His followers would do that too, they knew no better. Whatever Lufelon would say would go.
He had broken away from that meger little pack for now. Now he was on his own. His dusty pelt was starting to fade, the true color of white starting to shine through. He hated it. But thats why he came here. The sullen volcano would prove to give him what he needed. The ash to cover his body. Inhaling, the Olu moved towards the rockier that had exposed sand. He looked it over and taking a breath literally dove right in. He rolled around, covering himself in the sooty colored sand. It would do for now.
He sighed as he covered his body then lay there on his back for a moment, soaking it up and looking toward the heavens. Soon, soon the Olu would be restored to their former glory once the others were formally taken away.
Shaking his head, he rolled back onto his paws and looked around. Soon, this territory would fall like the others. It was just a matter of time.

She was a wanderer, belonging nowhere. And she was okay with that, at least for now. She had hardly been paying attention to where she was going, though upon crossing into these lands, whether she was welcome here or not had no crossing to her mind. She wasn't bothering anyone important... yet. Indeed, though her step had no direction in particular, she walked with a certain control of herself.
Her dark brown eyes reflected the world around her. She was quite smaller than other wolves, not even reaching a full three feet in height. Her fur was a dark red except on the undersides of her body where white trailed along. She wasn't expecting to run into anyone, and wasn't quite sure how she would react. She didn't do very well with company. At least... not in her small experience. Usually her sister had handled others in the past, leaving her to silently watch or grumble. So when she caught the other's scent, she hesitated.
Perhaps she should merely go on her way and hope not to see him. Too late. She could already notice the movement in the near distance. It brought a question to her mind. She decided she was curious.
As she got nearer, she saw that he was rolling in the ash from the volcano. She tilted her head slightly and perhaps raised a wolfish brow. Getting a bit closer, he stopped and lay there. She opened her mouth to ask what it was he was doing, when all of a sudden he rolled onto his paws and looked around. She straightened, wondering if he noticed her. Well, she mine as well ask. "What were you doing?"

He was covered in ash and he sighed as he looked down at his paws. This was surely no true disguise. Others could easily tell that this covering was not his original. It didn't matter. Normally they didn't question it or when they did some excuse was always used. The wolf took in a breath and looked up. The horns curling around his head glinting with the soot.
He had been alone for the most part. But when the voice caught his ear he knew the game was up. The time to be alone was gone. Eyes of red flickered up and over to her. He took in her form for a moment before a soft, kind smile spread on his features. 'Simply enjoying the ash that will soon give life to these lands.' Ash, a representation of rebirth in his mind. "What are you doing?'

With a brief glance around herself, it seemed this land was certainly full of life already. It had enough plantlife and fertility... Or perhaps he was hinting at something else. Life a phoenix' life. She looked upon him once more, ears flickering to catch his 'back at cha' question. She gave a more faint smile and gestured at a shrug. "Oh, just happening upon a wolf rolling in ash." Yes, she could tell it was perhaps to cover something, why else would he roll in it except maybe the abnormal urge to be dirty?
As she observed his own features, she realized she had never seen a wolf of his kind. If he was a wolf. Certainly she had seen horns, but not in this way. It was somewhat interesting to her. Nevertheless, she wasn't one to directly ask questions such as, "What are you?" It would certainly steer things in the wrong direction, she thought.
"What sort of life do you pertain to?" she asked.

Lufelon sat back on his hind legs, watching her for a moment. He was being patient like always, letting the stranger take her time with questions and what not. She asked a question that made him pause. Lufelon tilted his head slightly, 'What do you mean by "life I pretain to?' Are you asking if I am good or evil?' Such an odd way to word a question, 'Because I assure you it is all a matter of opinion.'
He had traveled, seen the various aspects of what various cultures called bad and good. TO him, what the Olu's of late had done was downright evil. But to tohers he would be that other side of the coin. 'What's your name?'

Her ears flickered as she caught his question and she couldn't help a faint smile as if to laugh, though her eyes did. "Well, I suppose I was referring to the life the ash is supposedly going to bring to these lands." With a gesture she added, "It seems it already has quite well." Ah yes, opinions. Since he had taken it to the direction of good or evil, she couldn't help letting her mind go there. She had heard plenty of rumors and knew enough about the Giaku packlands... or at least the wolves that resided there. Wouldn't that mean that wolves finding themselves here would also match in with evil on that scale?
His next question brought her out of her thoughts. Bah, she didn't really care what he aligned himself as... good, evil, neutral. She wasn't even sure exactly where she'd put herself. Did it really matter so much? Yes, her name. Should she give it so readily?
"Vellina," she stated, wondering if she should say more. "Yourself?" She hesitantly followed in sitting back, feeling somewhat strange standing when he appeared so comfortable. Ah, looks could be decieving. She shouldn't be too careful with any stranger, she reminded herself. "So..." a pause, "are you merely wandering like me? Or, here for some purpose?"

She gave her name after some hesitation and he nodded. Vellina. Simple enough. 'I am Lufelon,' he stated dipping his head in return. At her question he shook his head. 'I have a small pack that travels often. With the storm that passed recently, we lost man members,' Tragic but they were worth the sacrifice. Such things helped bind them, make the faithful stronger in their beliefs. 'We are only staying here till our weak get stronger.' And so he could observe the lives of Giaku.
He gave a smile, 'Hopefully our stay here will be only temporary.' His certainly was. Already he had a scout looking out over Shinkou and Akeru. But there was no need for her to know that.

Lufelon. She was not prone to easily forget him, for one because his features were so unfamiliar to her. Yes, the thought crossed her mind once more. She wondered if he were one of those endangered species or not as a cause of her never encountering others before. Maybe they were just very foreign. Was his whole pack like that? Or assorted species? Was there harm in asking such things to a stranger? She pushed the thoughts aside for a moment. "I am sorry for your loss. May the gods speed your recoveries." She only partially meant the words, but it was cordial enough in conversation.
She nodded briefly when he answered his stay was hopefully temporary. She found it somewhat amusing that he spoke of the ash bringing new life to his land, like a hint of a pack coming to claim here, yet meant only for himself and his group to be temporary. But she let that go. "I see. As I said, I am a wanderer.. so I guess that makes me a temporary too." She paused, hesitant and finally decided her curiosity would win over.
"Well, if you don't mind my asking, I haven't ever run across your... species before. Is it just you or your whole pack?" She was curious of his response.

He wasn't sure if she was being sincere or just polite, but either way, Lufelon dipped his head in thanks. The Gods knew he lied through his teeth a lot to get a specific effect for something or some purpose. But like him, she too was a wanderer, moving from place to place with no real direction. She may never find it. Some wolves never did.
Then she asked about his breeding and the wolf gave a smile. Inside though, he was immediately bitter. It was unnerving to know that some have nevre heard of his kind. It was an insult really. hey were the greatest wolves to walk this earth, but because of their changed ways, they were nothing. 'No, there are many more of us. Some members of my pack are Oru's. We are spread out but unfortunately aren't as abundant as we used to be.' Or should be. He gave a short laugh, 'Please don't be frightened by us. We are like any other wolf out there.' She nodded as she listened to his explanation of his species. Oru's. Interesting. "Oh, I'm hardling frightened. Morso intrigued and curious perhaps." She paused, contemplating a moment how to say her next words. "I would certainly want to learn more.. or at least meet others I guess. Though your pack in question, only if they were alright with it." She was a bit surprised at herself since she wasn't experienced in having conversations. She had of course observed her sister and others on several occasions, yet she found it was simple enough without being all open about yourself like she had wondered before.
"Where are they now?" she questioned, pertaining to Lufelon's pack.

She wanted to meet his pack and Lufelon had to smile. 'You are more than welcome to ask my pack any questions you may have,' This was how confident h was in his pack. Such loyal followers he had, he was certain none would stray far from him or speak ill will of him. Of course, none really knew of the deeds he had planned for the future, and the fact tht most would die for their loyally to him
'They're currently more toward the petrified forest.' He stated looking east where that area lay. 'We've been given permission to rest their and I make sure we dont travel too far.' He then gave a sheepish laugh, 'I suppose I shouldn't have left them. But I needed to get out and think by myself.'

She nodded and replied, "Yes, the need to get away. I definitely understand that one." She glanced in the direction he had pointed, not really being all that familiar with the Giaku packlands themelves but trusting he knew what he was talking about. Turning back toward him once more she gave a brief smile, "I would be interested in meeting your pack." For one, she had that curiosity about the whole Oru thing. She was quite intrigued. However she had her own reasons. She didn't let her mind drift there too much.
"So... does the answering any questions apply only to them, or to you as well?" she asked casually. Certainly, as the leader of his pack, he could answer any questions in her mind as well or even better than any member of his pack. Unless it were about certain members themselves, she thought.

Her curiosity was running deeper. Many leaders who had alternative plans now would begin to panic. They couldn't let out an outsider worm their way in. But Lufelon trusted his people. Trusted them to be sincere and give her answers. They were all loyal to him and even if she raised questions that they had no clue how to answer they would not falter from him. the Olu gave a wide smile with a gentle laugh, 'You may ask any of us anything. Including myself.' No fear. You show fear, they know something was up. 'You can ask away.'

She seemed to smile as he responded she could ask anything. A glimmer might even have crossed her eyes though would be gone. For one, she was indeed wanting to know if there were other Olu's in his pack. But there was another part of it. Vellina was not really the type to seek out and join a pack, at least not too quickly. She had plans beneath the surface of her mind which had come back and forth in her consciousness of if she should carry them out and if so.. when. She had already seen the Shinkou and Akeru lands and found them quite far from her interests. She thought perhaps a smaller pack would be better suited to her. But there were other things of importance to her too.
"Well, you say you are here only temporarily.. yet you belong to a pack. Does your pack merely wander throughout lands since you have no home, looking for one? Or perhaps there is some purpose?" She paused, "Will you allow me to continue speaking with you and take me to them?" she questioned, hoping she might be able to kill two birds with one stone.
