His scouts were in. They all had news for him. News of a battle that was currently raging on. The sides were well matched, death was abundant. Blood was being spilled without thought or care. In the end it would be apparent that each would suffer greatly, be it emotional or physical.
It was going so much better than he had planned.
All it took was a perfect set up. One wondering soul from Shinkou and one misplaced thought that they were Giaku's generals. The two teams had gathered in record time and were currently going about destroying one another. Good. The more they killed the better chance he had. Then he needed to just move. Destroy those weakened by it and recruit those who hold a chance. They all wouldn't be Olu, but they would be worthy of his cause.
They would need leadership. They were going to need him.
Lufelon smiled as his scout disappeared. The ash gray on his coat was fading and he looked down. He was going to need to paint himself again soon. His wings fluttered for a moment as he looked over the lush landscape. Soon he would be in control of two major territories.

He had continued on alone ahead of his pack, willing to scout out the lands and make sure it was safe for them to continue on. This had been his plan at any rate. With some of the other characters amongst his pack mates, he was sure at least one of them had tried to sneak along behind him. Though Void had assured him that he could sense no living thing, he didn't doubt the possibility that someone had managed to evade the spirit's senses.
There had been so much news traveling lately and terrifying the other roving packs, something about a great war that had broken out between some of the larger, territory owning wolves. Of this news, Sidian cared nothing for, as his priority was to protect the pack that had raised him like a family, the Stelleit wolves.
"Sidian, there are living vessels ahead." The spirit spoke in his low, droll tone. For all the years he had known him, Sidian had never felt or seen any emotion from his strange companion no matter the kind of situation they found themselves in.
Sidian continued on cautiously, taking slower steps as he approached on silent feet. He could feel Void flow beneath him and separate, covering the wolf's feet to stifle their sound. It would take a great ear indeed to hear him sneaking up, though a slight shift of wind could just as easily give him away.

Lufelon paused as he looked around. His ears were forward and alert. Something was stirring up in the distance. He waited, ever watchful for what could come around that corner. Some one was near perhaps? The leader looked back to his pack for a moment then forward. Without a word he began to trod forward, slowly and methodically.
After some time he paused to listen again. There was movement up ahead. He sat down, showing no signs of mistrust or malice, just simple curiosity. His scouts hadn't said anyone was near. Then again, that had been some time ago. A scout from one of the warring nations? Maybe. It'd be interesting to see which one it could be.

OOC: Don't mind if I jump in do you?Icy blue optics peered through the dark. They met a sturdy figures backside, swaying casually in the distance. A silent snort, and a quick change in direction, the blue optics bounced eerily under the dim light of the moon. Hielo was tracking Lufelon, unsure of whether he had wanted her to follow. Usually they did everything together, him and the followers of course, but this time was different. So long she had waited for the games to begin, this new game, on a new board, with new players. They had done it all before, but nothing came close to the scale this time. A tiny whine slipped from her maw as she inched after him, only to freeze in place as she realized her mistake.
Was she excited? Like every other time? No. Again, this time was different. She had a new sensation wracking her graceful form; Fear. They had managed to pull it off, start the torrential downpour that was to be many wolves last fates. Maybe even hers itself. To bring three monstrous packs together -or apart- was a feat in itself, let alone controlling them in a way that suited you. Even if all did fall, how would they push Lufelon to the top? Doubt also consumed her, something that never bothered her before. She had never tasted so much blood on the wind, or heard so much pain echo though her ears. Lucky enough for her, she hadn't had to come face to face with any of that yet. She would protect Lufelon with her life, but that was about it. She often sat there through the day, in a dream like state wondering what she would feel with a proper pack behind her. A proper pack that cared for her, and appreciated all that she did for them. She never thought like this. She never felt like this. It was weak and sad. But this movement was legendary, and no matter the outcome- It's story would be told for generations to come.
The large femme remained in her paused position, waiting for her leader to call her out. He probably knew she had been there all along anyway, how foolish she was to think she could go by unnoticed. Tracking was never her thing. She was a more 'in your face' kind of personality. To be truthful, she just wanted to be near him. He was like her brother, and she felt safe with him. Not that he would ever know that was how she actually felt. Her heart pounded in her chest, what was to become of them? This War they had created was so chaotic, she doubted even Lufelon knew just how dangerous this was going to be. Snapping back from her trail of thought however, the femme's ears perked quickly. She could have sworn she had heard pawsteps from something other than herself or Lufelon. But as silence descended upon them once again, she brushed it off, optics peering after Lufelon in fear she might lose him. How she wished she could cuddle up next to him, for him to whisper that everything was going to be alright in her quivering ears. Another foolish thought, one she banished from her mind with a silent scowl.
Snap out of it.

He felt the void beneath his paws slip away and before he could even think, his wispy companion had already floated up and over the foliage, making his way straight towards the two creatures he was trying to remain hidden from. Sidian remained silent, though angrily surprised that his friend had gone ahead without him. Void was often more bold than he, as the spirit was less likely to sustain injury if a confrontation arose.
The wisp of energy that made up Void's formless body slowed as it neared the others, weaving back and forth between the bushes like the head of a viper, cautious and curious of the creatures ahead of him. He paused for a moment, pulsing with a dark light within the shadow of his mist as he gazed...or he would have appeared to be doing so if he had any eyes to gaze with.
Sidian growled under his breath and stepped after his friend, slowly trailing after the curious spirit. As he moved closer, Void spoke to him in that detached voice that only he could hear, sounding as if he were so close by and yet far away at the same time.
I do not sense the threat of death, Sidian. The spirit hovered over to Sidian's side. We should not fear it this day.
Sidian only nodded, though he knew it might look strange to the other two that he was answering a voice only he could hear. "Thank you Void."

He couldn't see what was going on, but he felt it. Something was stirring in the air. Lufelon's ears twitched for a moment as one of his own stood so near him. But that wasn't the source of his worries. For the time being he paid her no heed, he couldn't afford it. The fake gray wolf needed to focus on what was going on around them. What was tracking them. The alpha stood up, staring out. 'We have company,' he said softly, speaking loud enough for his follower to hear. 'Lets go greet them.'
He turned his head to flash her a small smile before moving forward. The Olu held his head high, the horns curving in such a way that made him seem regal, dangerous. He walked out a few feet before pausing. His head was held high still as he looked about then finally, he let out a small bout of laughter. It was filled with joy and welcome, a tribute to the kind of deceiver he was. 'Lets stop with these games.' He declared loud enough for Sidian to pick up where ever he is. 'I know you're there and you know Im here. Come, such things are foolish. Me or my pack will bring you no harm.'

"And we don't want any trouble." Sidian stepped within viewing range, a scowl on his face in way of greeting the two before him. Though he was in no way angry, simply irritated in being dragged into the open so to speak. Void hovered close to his shoulder, as he always did. An odd spherical cloud of gray mist, shining silver along his outlines while holding a dark, deep void of black within his core.
"My friend and I," He flicked his muzzle back to indicate the floating spirit, "Are just making sure it's safe for our pack. We're not...used to these kind of lands."

Now Lufelon had seen many things in his life time. Many strange and odd things that would make a believer out of anyone. But this was something else. Sidian had stepped out and Lufe did see the smudge of smokey material, but safely he assumed it was only a trick of life, a dust cloud of some sort. He looked down to Sidian as he explained and did indeed include the floating spectacle above him. His tail flickered, not in aggitation but in genuine curiousity. If this gave the being strength, then he was naturally wanting a part of that action.
For now, they had to concentrate on one thing at a time. Sidian held his attention for now, the one thing that was communicating with him. 'I understand your concerns. We aren't part of these lands either.' He gave a smile, 'We're trying to pass through quickly enough but seems there is some more hostility than usual at these times.' All thanks to the great war that was going to knock a good chunk of life out. Worthless and pathetic life.

I feel forces of life disappearing in the lands farther north of here. It is very far away, but even I can feel such a great emptiness across this distance. Void spoke in a voice that only Sidian could hear, but his physical appearance flashed with a soft light within the void each time he created words.
Sidian looked at his traveling companion, only slightly surprised by this news. He hadn't taken the howling seriously before, but Void had failed to mention before that there really were hundreds, maybe even thousands of wolves fighting to their death. "The rumors of a war then, they were true?"

The sound of paws padding lightly at the ground caused a rustling of leaves as the smallest of forest creatures moved in response. Amongst these furry critters was Rubin, currently in her Red Panda form, the form she often shifted into when lounging about the terrain. Contrary to its implied name she looked nothing like a panda. With red fur covering the whole of her small form she was about the size of a young koala. She moved much like a fox, with patches of white fur covering her black nose, small pointy ears, and big brown eyes. Her long back curved into a fluffy tail with red and white stripes, stripes much like that of a raccoon. As of current she had been resting, though both eyes were now wide open, big brown orbs scanning the area for the source of the sound, content in her hiding place in the hollow depths of a tree. Curled up tightly, her long bushy tail wrapped around her body providing her with stability and warmth. The whiskers attached to her black nose twitched as she caught the scent of a wolf, a male. Decidedly she poked her small head out of the enclosure, stretching away the sleep that pulled her back.
Tiny paws scampered across the earth almost inaudibly as she inched her way near the source. He was a male, obviously; strongly built and seemingly powerful; Lufelon. She peered closer, noting that she had yet to see this wolf before and curious as to his being. Although her main form was a wolf, she had chosen to remain in this form as a precautionary incase a quick get away was needed. A second voice caused her to take a step back; a second male wolf. She was close enough now that she could hear every word spoken, though she doubted they could see her. Her small form was easily hidden and she remained motionless, analyzing the two wolves. Their words excited her as she heard mention possible battle and change of territory. Her life of recent had seemed bland and she was happy to finally have something interesting to focus on.

He had only heard of it as rumors and Lufelon had to smile inwardly. Oh it was so much more than a rumor. It was as real as the very soil beneath their feet. Funny how one simple misunderstanding can create such chaos. It was a genuine Snowball Effect that became better than he had originally anticipated. All the same, he gave a nod. 'Unfortunately yes. But from what I understand from others it was a battle long since waiting.' He looked around the area, taking in the world around them as if seeking out dangers. 'My pack and I are striving to stay away from it. I don't want allies but nor do I want to get accused of being thought of as the enemy.' He looked over to Sidian, 'Both have powerful warriors. If you were wise it maybe best to avoid them at all costs.'

"The lands to the north..." Sidian mumbled thoughtfully, a memory floating up in the back of his mind, but it faded as he mentally brushed it aside, "Best to avoid them."
That is fairly close to where I found you... Void's voice flickered through his mind, an emotion of fondness attached to his statement and a slight hint of unease. Sidian realized that Void was worried about the state of that area...a lonely spot in the forest where a young pup had once been buried, devoid of life and thought to be dead by his mourning parents. It was there that Void, even back then a fairly old spirit, had loosened the soil and pulled Sidian's small body from his grave and breathed into him the precious life that he had lost.
"Our place is here." Sidian's voice was edgy and sounded irritated, soured by the memories Void was trying to bring up. He owed Void his life and the Stelleit wolves were the same, but they had given him a home and a family. They were his family. And he wasn't going to run off chasing after one that didn't remember him or worse, the whole lot of them might already be dead thanks to the battles up north.
