There are four sections(posts) of rules, so please read all of the parts before posting on the forum. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse for breaking them. Ignoring or breaking any rules can lead to revocation of characters, expulsion from roleplay or permanent banning. Forum Rules Code of Conduct
-You must be 13 years or older to join this forum. This is a rule from the Proboards' terms of service, if you are any younger than this, we will ask you to leave. If you refuse you will be banned, thus losing your chance to ever join in the future.
-Do not disrupt the forum. Always use common sense and be courteous to all members. You should not insult, harass, annoy, bully or intentionally start fights with others. If someone asks you to stop, you need to kindly stop. If you are being rude to anyone on the cbox or forum, you will be punished.
This site is PG-13, so posts can not contain any of the following content: promoting the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, nudity, or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, fraud, racism, mlm, pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity.
-Spamming is not allowed. Short, annoying or duplicated posts that do nothing to contribute to the conversation will be deleted. Spam also includes the over use of CHATTING IN CAPS.
-Each person is allowed one account. Because members are able to create as many characters as they can handle, multiple accounts are a waste of space and will be deleted if found. So please only create one account and stick with it.
-Avoid extreme chatspeak, even in ooc areas. While lol, wtf, or omg are commonly used, do not, "spk lyk ths."(speak like this) or think "u r cool." even in ooc chat areas. You've joined an intermediate roleplay forum, at least make the effort to type readable English.
-Do not steal artwork. You are allowed to use images for your characters, but please read up on the original artist's usage policy, if you can, before posting it. If the artist asks us to remove it, we will take it down. Know that things like 'character sheets' are normally copyrighted material and unless you have an artist's permission to use it on this site, you are stealing their artwork.
-Forum rules apply to signatures. If anything in your signature is found to be inappropriate or rule breaking it will be edited or removed.
-Do not advertise or post links to other roleplay forums outside of the Advertisement board. It's rude and is spam.
-Do not impersonate staff or anyone on SO. This also includes impersonating someone famous or well-known. :\ We can see IP addresses in the cbox and the forum. You will be instantly banned on both the cbox and forum for impersonating someone.
-Please don't use the cbox for roleplay. The cbox was created for instant 'out of character' chatting, so don't roleplay on it. That's what the forums and Roleplay Chat are for.

Character Creation Rules -Use the correct profile posting form that we provide to all members below these rules. Do not edit or add anything new to the form, as this will allow for quick and easier approval of your character's profile. A character's biography can contain any kind of information, so use that section for any extras you wish to add.
-Post each individual character's profile in a new topic. Do not combine two characters into one profile. You may mention other characters if they have special relationships, but a single profile is reserved for a single character.
-Do not create absurd characters. Inanimate objects or food cannot be made as characters. Cloning characters from popular culture such as Transformers, anime, real or famous people is not allowed. You may loosely base them off of existing cartoon characters, but do not drag any canon stories into Shinkou Ookami.
-Gods, half-gods, demi-gods, or any type of god-like beings are not allowed. Gods only exist in legends, myths and religions. Gods never exist as actual characters and characters never come into contact with them. They also cannot have been created by gods, as this is god moding(Or Mary-Sue).
-Do not copy or steal information off of another character's profile for your own. That information is copyright to the person who created them.
-Wolves cannot be taller than 4 feet. For other species height specifics, go to The Races of Shinkou thread.
-Make an effort to be descriptive. Profiles should be detailed and in depth. A single sentence isn't enough to tell us all about a character.
-This should be obvious but, WE DON'T ACCEPT MARY SUES/GARY STUS. Your profile will be reviewed before it is accepted, naturally. So if your character has Mary Sue qualities, we'll be sure to point them out.
-YOU CANNOT ROLEPLAY UNTIL YOUR CHARACTER'S PROFILE HAS BEEN APPROVED.Character Posting Form
When creating a character, the post's subject should read: Wolf's Name - Pack (Rank can be included if you want.) Or, if they do not belong to a pack: Wolf's Name - Loner Non-wolf creatures should show: Creature's Name - RaceSub-Races were created uniquely for SO and are only an optional extra for those who want to include them. For an explanation and list of Sub-Races follow this link.Basic Character FormName:
Gender:
Race: (Put down the basic race that your character is, for example: Wolf, Human, Dragon, Hawk, Bird, Domestic Dog, Horse, Cat, Lion, etc. You may only fill this in as "Unspecified" if your character is a shape shifting creature that has more than two forms and does not have a permanent base species.)
Sub-Race: (For an explanation on Sub-Races, look for the thread in the Shinkou Ookami Information board. The 7 sub-race choices are: Demon, Celestial, Werewolf, Vampire, Shape shifter, Ghost and Undead. If your character isn't any, put N/A.)
Breed: (For species like wolves that have different breeds, like the timber, red, arctic, dire, maned, etc. Or fantasy/made-up breeds such as winged or Druin.)
Pack: (Non-wolf races(including werewolves) should delete this section, while loner wolves need to put N/A.)
Rank: (Non-wolf races(including werewolves) should delete this section, while loner wolves need to put N/A.)
Appearance: (Appearance, personality and biography should be detailed and descriptive. Short, single sentences will be unacceptable. Do not post just a picture for their appearance, you need a typed description that is at least a paragraph of what they physically look like.)
Personality:
Magic: (Remember that if you are making a Sho-un character, they do not have any magic on their own, so this remains blank. Magic is the element(s), also known as spirits, that characters can use. Refer to the LAWS OF MAGIC section before choosing magic and spells. Also remember that magic is not a spell, it is simply a single word used to describe the type of magic or spirit being used.)
-Spells: (If you choose a magic for your character, don't leave the spells area blank. Spells are the actions used to perform the magic, so it'd be silly to have no spells if you have magic.)
Skills: (Skills are non-magical abilities that characters can do, such as being good runners or having knowledgeable skills in healing plants. They are the physical abilities that a character can perform. Anything ethereal like seeing energy or absorbing things that do not physically exist is a magic spell, not a skill.)
Biography: (Basically a character's biography is a description of their past or history. Other than that though, a character's bio can contain just about any information, from their history to their family trees and any extras you'd like to include such as age, mates, friends, etc.) Human/Anthro WorldsThe Human/Anthro Worlds board is an area that does not exist in the same world as the wolves of Shinkou Ookami. This area is a special area made for people who want to roleplay wolves in futuristic settings or anthropomorphic and humanoid characters in villiage or city areas. Characters made for the Human/Anthro worlds cannot go into the wolf worlds, and wolves from Shinkou, Akeru, Giaku or the loner and pack areas cannot go into the Human/Anthro boards. Plots and roleplay here do not affect any plots and roleplay in the wolf territories. Please use the form below for any Human/Anthro Worlds character.HUMAN/ANTHRO WORLDS CHARACTER

Rules of Roleplay -Absolutely no Powerplaying or Godmoding. If you don't know what these two things are, then you need to follow this link.
-Do not use chat speak in roleplay. Type your posts in legible, readable English and use proper sentence structure.
-Keep roleplay PG-13. Nothing graphic and use minimum swearing.
-There can be NO CROSSOVERS from the Human/Anthro worlds to the SO world whatsoever. The Human/Anthro worlds does not share the same world as the SO wolves. The Wolf Territories have no technology what-so-ever. There's NO electricity. Guns are allowed, but they're crude. Think: Firelock- 1500s - Image This means characters cannot have moved from a city in their history. They cannot be escaped experiments or be bionic mutants. If you want to discuss allowing a special character such as this, you must PM me.
-Make an effort to post more than short sentences. While we encourage members to post long paragraphs, making smaller posts every-so-often isn't against the rules.
-The pa.ss-w.o.r.d to the new characters board is: jackjack10. You will need this to get into the new profiles board in order to post a new character profile.
-Take turns while roleplaying. If you post after someone, wait for them to post before posting again. Only if another person becomes inactive for more than several days may you start posting more to keep the thread going.
-Liquid time is allowed. Feel free to have a single character join as many rp threads as you can handle, but do not inconvenience others by posting in many threads and going inactive.
-Litter births are not restricted to certain seasons. SO does not restrict puppy births to specific seasons, but litter sizes are limited to a maximum of 5 puppies and characters can only have puppies once every 6 months.
Wolf Pack Rules -You're roleplaying a territorial wolf, ACT LIKE ONE! The wolf packland boards are clearly labeled and if a stranger(loner, or member of another non-allied pack) walks into a claimed territory, the current land owner isn't going to be passive and happy! Your wolf also isn't going to be nonchalant and care-free about it either. They're in DANGEROUS lands with the constant threat of being attacked by the owning pack at any second and they KNOW it. Shinkou and Akeru are the only packs that are friendly towards each other, as they have made an alliance due to the forum plot.
Creating A Pack
-In order to first create a pack, your forum rank must be Associated or higher. That's at least 100 rp posts.
-You cannot create more than one pack. Don't fill your pack or leading ranks up with your own characters either. Packs are social establishments that are shared with everyone. You should only ever own one leader character in a pack.
-Use the Member Packs board to create new packs. You can use the Member Packs board to create a new thread with information about the pack. You MUST then make a post with a link to your pack's information sheet on THIS THREAD in order to register your pack. Non-registered packs cannot claim land.
-Packs may only claim land in the Distant Packlands category.
-Alphas battle to claim occupied territory. Life in the Distant Packlands is harsh, Alphas of roving packs(packs without a claimed territory) may challenge another pack's alpha to battle for territory that is already claimed by a pack. The battle may be roleplayed and a staff member must be alerted to the challenge thread(otherwise no winner can be chosen and the territory cannot be awarded to another alpha if this happens). The winning alpha(as deemed by the staff member) will be awarded the packland for their pack.
-Packs need at least Three members to claim or challenge for land. If a land is unclaimed and your pack would like to claim it, the leader needs to send me a message about claiming it for the pack.
-Packs may start fights with each other only if both leaders agree and Wyndbain must be told. So just send me a PM about the plot and I'll ok it.

Laws of Magic The wolves of Shinkou are known for their unique magics and abilities, but they know that magic exists thanks to the creatures known as spirits. Characters are either born with magic or they meet a spirit who gifts it to them by merging with their souls. Even though normal wolves cannot communicate with spirits, spirits never merge with wolves that don't want to.Creating Your Magic Being a part of Shinkou has many advantages, one of them being our special feature that allows members to create their own unique magics and spells. We take godmoding here very seriously though, so we take extra precautions to ensure that no one steps on any toes with over powered magics.
-Warping time and space; controlling or destroying nature is godmoding. Time is a delicate part of our existence, no one is allowed to stop or alter it. No single creature has the power to blow up a mountain or create a typhoon or freeze the ocean, etc. Weather element creatures simply need to be limited in what they can control.
-A single character can have up to two different elemental magics as long as they do no "conflict". The story of SO uses spirits to explain the ability to use magic and with that power comes a small downside. Here is a basic list of common elements that conflict: Fire and Water Earth(Rock) and Air Light and Darkness Poison and Healing Earth(Plants) and Fire Fire and Ice
If a character has one element, they can have up to seven different spells for that element. If they have two elements, they can have up to eight spells total.
If you are creating a Spirit character for a Sho-un, Spirits can only have ONE elemental magic with up to five spells and Sho-un characters don't have any magic at all. For information on the Sho-un: Click here.
-This is not a D&D roleplay. Do not use "will last for up to 5 posts" to describe how long a magic power will last. Do not use stats either to describe how strong a spell is. We only need to know what it MAY do IF it hits someone/something or what the magic looks like when it is used. You are not in control of how long magic will effect someone else's character or what it will do to them.
-Like all rules of roleplay, using powers against other characters is ALWAYS an attempt. It is not up to you if your own power works on someone else and make sure to keep that in mind when writing the description of a spell.
-Magic spells cannot godmode or powerplay, so be careful when writing their descriptions. While it doesn't completely matter on the profile to some extent, making sure the use of the spell is appropriate in roleplay is important. Effective spells should have weaknesses or downsides to using them.
