Exploring a Cave

Alastolan chuckled a bit as he walked with Tenshi, watching as she sent the flame ahead again and again as they walked. After hearing her speak he responded kindly as he usually does. "I don't see how anyone could possibly think the spiky fur makes you look weird. In my own opinion the combination of your tails and the fur together make you look quite attractive." He spoke with a very wide smile until he started to see a light further down the cave. As Tenshi suspected it might be a nice place to rest, he nodded in agreement as she made the comment. "Of course. Shall we go check it out?"

"Thank you." she said, gazing into Alastolan's eyes. She seemed to get lost in them, and she lost track of the time. A water drop fell onto her nose from the ceiling, breaking the trance.

"Sure." Tenshi replied, unable to say much else.

As she walked, the passage seemed to get narrower, and began to have columns of rock. She continued walking, until she was right underneath the opening. There seemed to be a huge dome made of glass, no, crystal, she thought. Tenshi could see a river flowing across the crystal, giving the light ripples. There was soft moss almost entirely covering the floor and a pool in a corner. It seemed almost magical.

"Wow" Tenshi exclaimed, taking in the sight.

This is absolutely amazing, she thought but then remembered Alastolan. She just stared at him, the light rippling over his coat. It made him look really nice, Tenshi thought.

"I really like you, Alastolan" she whispered in his ear, slightly embarrassed.

With a smile, Alastolan continued to walk further and further into the cave with Tenshi by his side. Gradually the cave around them began to change in appearance as it got more narrow. Through the entrance they made their way as he looked around the crystal room. The rippling against all the walls from the sun's light passing through the river above was enchanting. He lost himself for a moment as he looked around until his eyes landed upon Tenshi, still tucked under his wing. He watched as the light danced off her and in her eyes. Her words clear as it echoed about the room. He smiled wider than ever as he heard her say she really liked him. He leaned his head down and nuzzled it against her neck and cheek slowly and gently. "I really like you too Tenshi. A lot. Just something about you that reminds me so much of my mother. She was so gentle and compassionate... loving and always had me by her side having fun." He leaned against her a bit as he closed his eyes.

Tenshi was the happiest she had ever been when Alastolan said he liked her too.
"I wish I could meet your mother, she sounds so kind. Just like you." she replied, looking into his eyes.

The sun started setting, the red gold light shining through the crystal, illuminating the pool with its light. The moss slowly began to slightly glow, making a beautiful sight.

Tenshi saw the moon rise, reflected in Alastolan's eyes. She laid down, still looking up at him.

Alastolan layed down beside Tenshi, snuggling close as his wing remained covering her like a blanket now. "Well, my mother and father live very, very far away from here. Even if we traveled nonstop it would take over a month to reach them." He looked up at the slowly darkening crystals as it changed colors from the setting sun shining through. The moss around them glowing brighter as the cave grew darker. "The ground is soft here. And the glow it emits is amazing, I haven't seen anything like it before." His eyes wandered about to take in every detail of the room.

It was cool and comfortable inside the room, much different from the warm temperatures outside. His eyes once more landed on Tenshi. Every time he looked at her he couldn't help but smile. "Do you think maybe you could tell me more about yourself? I'd really enjoy getting to know you more."

"Oh," Tenshi said sadly, "That's a shame."
It was nice under Alastolan's wing, she thought, resting her head under Alastolan's.
"I haven't either. It is truly a wonderful place. Well, Ask away. Anything you want to know, I will say. I'm just not sure where to begin." she replied.

Alastolan thinks for a moment, looking around the darkening room as the moss glows brighter. "Well... how about you start with where you grew up or maybe about your family? Anything will be fine." He smiled as he lay beside her with his wing around her. Truly happy for the first time in a long while.

"I grew in the Harukani Outlands with my sister, Akuma. My mum abandoned us only a couple of days after she found out my father was a hell-hound. My father lived with us for a while. He was okay if you treated him with respect but he was harsh and viscous to everything else. He died very soon, when I was 8 months old.

While wandering in the woods one day, I met a wolf who taught me not to do what my sister was saying, as she was cruel to everything. That wolf suggested I run away, but I would not listen. Instead I confronted my sister, who then fought me. She was too strong for me, so I fled for my life." she replied, feeling a bit more miserable, however she felt better when she looked at Alastolan.

Alastolan looked at Tenshi as she spoke. His ears were perked as he listened intently to every word but slowly folded back as he heard about her family. "I'm sorry to hear that..." He looks away for a moment but returns his gaze to her very quickly as he's unable to keep his eyes off her. "Shall we talk about something a little more mood lifting?" A smile crossed his face as he made the suggestion.

"I like that idea," Tenshi replied softly.
She tried to think of what to talk about, but she couldn't come up with anything. So she just contented herself sitting in silence, just being near Alastolan, nuzzling him gently.
