It was the day before Autumn. To those that had sense of days and time, understood it to be September 20th. However, wolves harbored no sense of time like humans--therefore, autumn had already started. It begins when the god of Autumn spreads her draconian wings, and drifting through our world and breathing colorful flames on all living things.
Raven had seen the trees change, and silently prayed to Mitaniee a thank-you for such beauty to arrive in Shinkou. It was only the beginning... Shinkou had yet to see the full effects of Mitaniee's power.
Thinking that a meal in Mitaniee's honor was in order, she jumped off of her usual sleeping rock over her den and trotted around the greenish-gold maple trees, scenting the almond wind. Oh, if only Goth were here to celebrate with her... but as betas must, their jobs comes first.
They both held that mutual understanding. And because of it, they hardly saw each other.
Heaving a sigh, the beta female rustled her wings of black with golden-orange tips, and let them drape idly against her back. Her fur was black, too. Only the markings on the ends of her fur on the nape of her neck was the same hue as the tips of her feathers. Even her eyes, multi-colored, shimmered gold and orange. It was easy to see why she loved Autumn.
She could easily camouflage against the colorful boughs of the trees so that she could hide from her prey. It would be so easy. And she was hungry... a rabbit would do, if she could find one.

The course of autumn was indeed something special to behold. Such aging elements seemed to prove the only real sign of its coming. Yet thorough out such familiar changes, there appeared to be something out of line, as if the grass and trees beckoned forth with woes untold. It almost seemed a bit too eerie to be true. Then it came, the odd stench, its odor unmistakably faint. Was something burning perhaps? No one could be sure, that is unless they allowed their curiosity to get the best of them.
In the distance, a savage canine cursed under his breath. His radiating red optics seemed to spill a source of hatred and disgust for what just happened seconds earlier. Why was all this damn wildlife insistent upon pestering him, Kabadith had to ask himself. He would have rather been left alone. His last encounter was not so enduring, almost abruptly ending in a conflict as his mocking satire appeared to get the better of him.
Drawing up the portion of his snout, he scanned the horizon, a simple grunt betraying his immaculate grin. Is this really the outer lands in which we are normally forbidden to enter? "This place makes me sick.." Just then, something caught his gaze. The wolf halted, an unusually small spectator stood up on it's hind legs in his presence. He stopped in his tracks, unable to help but mutter negatively,"What are you looking at? Moreover, what the heck are you anyway?" The rabbit just remotely stared at him, he had to wonder if it was attempting to ascertain his weak points. The silent, idle eyeballs soon caused him to persistently growl in defense, the creature almost immediately scampering off in the process. "Yeah you better run.." He murmured.
Ever since he was forced to journey into these lands, he found numerous times that whenever he assumed something to be true, it never was. Likewise, the fact that this place was nothing like his own still entirely bothered the wolf. "Is this some kind of joke??" He shouted with rage in check, a few birds clashed from the trees and made off in a dash for freedom. His appetite meager in appeal, still feeling rather upset about his unlikely achievable goal. Oh what was this troubled soul ever to do?

She had heard the commotion. Lifting her cranium, she padded out to investigate. Above, birds warbled and chattered urgently as they spread out into the open air, obviously disturbed by the creature causing it.
"Do not let me startle you--I am near, I can hear you--but welcome. Is there anything I can do to help?"
When she ceased speaking, she had seen him on time in the brambles and thickets of lush greenish-gold, having a huge fit. Immediately, she felt a wave of pity steal over her like a giant ocean wave. With her scent drifting in the wind, and her voice calling out loudly, her presence could be known in an instant. She deliberately allowed her paws to crunch hard on the leaves, a sign that she wanted to be known.
"Alas, what joke? What is the cause of your distress?" Overwhelmed, she spoke with a critical voice, as if something dire had occurred. But what, she would perhaps find out soon.

The bold creature huffed in his seeping rage. A sudden sense of calm lifting his spirits as he might have finally succeed in gaining his unabided peace, or so he would have figured. His sensitive ears tingled and promptly twitched. His frame changing course almost instantly at the new distraction. Oh god he thought, not again.
His canines soon bared, crimson red oculars making out the trimmed outline of a single wolf. His ears suddenly perking, teeth sheathed away, replaced by a more stubborn expression of outward examination. It was alone.. Not another wolf insight for miles. The fact that she was making such a loud ruckus on top of that only further seemed to agitate the red devil.
When he heard her beckoning words, he abruptly snorted. "No, there is nothing you can help me with.." He paused then added, "But there is one thing you can do for me, and that is to get lost.." He appeared in no mood for company, and furthermore was more interested in at least trying to brood over his unobtainable goal. His right hind leg scuffled backwards, almost as if imitating that of a bull.
Although such harsh words previously came flying forth in her presence, he did little to wait upon the silence or for any returned comments as he further spoke with an uptight demeanor, "Hmph.. Once again to emphasize for you this time, this place is a complete and utter joke. There, you wish me to spell out my reason as well, or are we done talking now?" He was certainly cocky, not to mention downright rude. Who could have thought such a creature existed? Perhaps the male simply had an alter ego or superiority complex that made him seem like such a jerk. There might have been only one way to find out for sure.
