Solaces face darkened furthermore in the severe gloom, His mercury iris's glancing the small cavern, lit by a small torch bracket. The thought tore his mind from those dead memories, if not for a breif moment. He watched across the darkened space, half illuminated by a single Astheric torch bracket in the long abandoned wolfden. The flickers of dull red sorcerous flame danced across his muzzle as he sat motionless, pondering the long dead Astherc magic, still persisting in the darkness. How that single flame would have burned for centuries, never going out, never faltering despite its creators and users being long dead. It persisted. Something Solace could'nt relate to, or adhere to. His Obsidan armour being the only thing Darker than his mind right now, Warped with thoughts of slaughter, misery, and desperation. The Dakkan needed guidance from someone wiser than him, despite being the same age, and that Dakkan would be pacing in this cavern any moment.
Solace closed his eyes. Remembering the betrayal of That fae. He didnt even want to think about her name, despite being plagued by memories of her face, her creation, and even how she tore all of that away, just to be alive again. Were the Dakkan so cold and dead that the choice of re-life would be that easy? If so. His entire unlife had been for nothing. A waste. His mind lingered on the dark memories no longer, a distraction of scuffleing. The clank of iron paws, and the rumble of undead breathing. He was here.
"Hyraku, you have come."
A snort rumbled in reply accompanied by his words, rich in Astheric dialect, despite his traveling, as his form paced into the torchlight.
"Indeed, Yet i do not particularly know the full reason as to which we are here, or why you asked for my company."
Solace's eyes lingered across his pewter chainmail and the dead wolf in it, even now, just sitting down to face him with a snort of hot air.
"I wanted to ask you a few questions. I think i need guidence, And answers."
Following the question, The other Dakkan gave a snort, Looking him dead in the eye.
"Solace. You have been here as long as i have. I doubt you could find wisdom in any of my words. Allthough, flattered as i may be, i dont think i can help you. But i am inclined to try, despite our differences."
The Black dakkan gave a snort and continued.
"Well. I have fallen. In more ways than one. I see myself now, not as a spirit. But dead and cold. My armour doesnt feel the warmth anymore. and i still waste my time dwelling on the past..."
Hyraku interrupted and shook his head with the chink of mail, highlighted by the flickering torchlight.
"Dakkans are meant to live in the present, aiding the universe to work toward a better future, despite how you have chosen to exile yourself, Did you not?"
"Ofcourse. But you know my reasons."
"Indeed i do. Please continue."
"I had indeed fallen in many ways. I am a shadow of my former self, And i fell for a Fae."
"Oh?" Hyraku didnt bother to hide the surprise in his deep grunt.
"Yes, i fell for one of the living, Then turned her. Then i was betrayed and she returned to life, discarding me like a used bone."
"You shouldnt have.."
"I KNOW HYRAKU...
..i know."
Solace looked away breaking eye contact, instead finding the glimmer of light on the worn stone flooring suddenly interesting.
"I am aware that we should not fall for one of the living, But i cant be content with a hollow heart. I fell for this fae, and she in turn rejected me for Life."
Hyraku's tone was laced with a subtle comforting warmth as he spoke in return.
"I know we cannot help who we fall for. Indeed thats why we do not get accustomed to such feelings for mortals. Some hearts heal with time, others do not. I hope you are the former. I know you've never been eye to eye with Dakkanism Solace. And i know you didnt have much choice. as an officer such as myself it was ordained. I have adapted to my body, I think you should have too."
"Maybe i dont want to."
Hyraku looked to solace now with scorn written all over his features, and a furrowed metal brow.
"Maybe You shall indeed live in misery for the future, as you have in the past. Maybe your conflicting feelings about what you are will cause you to end more lives to feel comfort. That is why you kill needlessly yes? Rebelling against the very fabric of what you are. Accept it. Maybe then no more lives will fall to your claw and your rebelious childlike anguish."
Solace's maw opened to speak, but he couldnt find words. He sat and gawped at Hyraku wordlessly, Knowing all this to be true.
"Then i dont want to be one of the iron."
"Then misery will rain on you like water from the skies Solace."
"That is something i am accustmed too. Daily i receive predjudism for what i am, Dead. Daily i think about her and mourn, Daily i sit and wonder why i bother. Then i realise, I am to suffer. And for your information Hyraku, I kill for the reasons of Dakkanism. Dead evil cannot be Evil."
"Quiet. Dont speak another word. I enlighten. I bring ideals and defence to the living. Not end it because it has slipped up occassionly in sin. In doing that, one might judge you evil, for not offering the living a chance of redemption."
Once again Solace was rendered speechless, Watching the iron Beast lecture him from under his chainmail.
"We were made to enlighten, Not to end. Both are opposites in their own ways. Sure, you have the same motives and goals as me, and we may have been friends. But we are opposites, you and me Solace. I do not tell you how to do what you were created for. That is your job."
With a huff Hyraku paced from the cavern out into the sunlight and away from solace, leaving him in the darkness with his own thoughts, and fears...
