There were storm clouds gathering, promising more rain to come shortly. No doubt these lands will be flooded once more, wiping out anything that wasn't prepared for it. There was a low rumble of thunder in the distance and a fast breeze of wind was blowing through. The world was going to be covered in a downpour soon.
The reeds swayed in the wind, some even whistling from the force. The otherwise calm waters were lapping against the random land masses in a choppy matter. She almost blended in perfectly with the reeds and moss around her. Her body was straight and poised, head looking up into the air. Her fur was short and slick and a beautiful mix of brown and greens, which allowed her to blend in with the terrain of the area. She had lanky legs that seemed extremely long, which they were. They provided her the ability to move through these lands without getting snagging in the water.
Her green and gold eyes were looking up at the sky, watching the sky churn and grumble. She'd need to be moving soon, seeking shelter on the dry lands. Bother.

Tala soared through the sky, noticing with delight the approaching thunderclouds. She LOVED storms. She swooped absentmindedly down at a marsh wren, letting it get away just to see it fly and hear it sing its alarm call. She loved little things... especially pups. How she wished she had some pups of her own. To distract herself from distressing thoughts, she looked down at the ground, and noted for the first time the speck on the ground, raising its head to the sky. She grabbed the vial hanging from a string around her neck in her mouth, tucked in her legs and ears, and soared way up in the air to make herself appear a large bird. That was close, she thought. She needed to see how the wolves here would react to a flying wolf, if they were hostile, she'd know about it before they knew she was here. If not... A loud crack of thunder interrupted her thoughts. She flapped away from the clouds, and dove in a very hawklike move (she'd actually hidden in a cave for a week and watched a hawk, so she knew how to move like one quite well) to perch in a tree far, far out of smelling distance -and downwind, for that matter- of the animal-who-looked-up. Then, she slept. (Keeping one eye open, of course.)

Zaki was watching for a while longer before sighing. No doubt these waters would be flooded. Even with as long as her legs were, seh wouldn't able to traverse them for some time. A shame really. But that was fine. She could sit and be patient. Shaking her head at the rumble of thunder, she forced herself to stand and move, unaware that something was daring to fly in this weather. ((Ooc: sorry, wanted to get to a computer. this is my official long-post-update-everything-woohoo-party day. ))
Tala awoke from her nap to drenching rain. Oh, sey'l'a. she thought, I am wet. Phooey. She snorted, shook, and walked off to find cover. Then, she noticed the fresh scent of "other wolf", and, being the distractable type, she set off to follow it. After coming through a reed forest (well, that was her opinion of it), she stumbled upon... a rock. Rolling to protect her stomach, she suddenly hit something soft and furry. She sprang back, immediately taking in the scene around her, and especially the wolf in front of her. "OhmygoshohmygoshohmygoshIamsoooosorry! Are you alright?(Please don't make me fight...) I am sooo sorry!"

The thunder was slowly growing and Zaki listened to it with some disdain. She enjoyed teh changing weathers and the drop in humidity this would bring, but the loud sounds would no doubt shelter other animals, making hunting non-existent. Oh well. She heard splashing and Zaki stopped, her ears raised and thats when she got hit. She wavered for a moment but her footing stayed true.
Green and brown eyes stared at her for a moment as she rambled and apologized. Zaki blinked before shaking her head. 'YOu best be finding shelter on higher ground. This waters will flood soon.'

"Oh. Uh, alright then, mind if I follow you? I'll bet you know this land better than I do." Tala felt like she was in the presence of someone who really knew what they were doing, even though she could tell that this other wolf was a lot younger that she was. "My name is Tala, and I've never been here. Could you please help me find shelter before this storm gets near?" Tala sat and waited for the other's answer, and while she did so, she began to take in her surroundings. Let's see... Storm to my right hind, trees, reeds, shrubs all around... is there anywhere I can take off from? Or, for that matter, land in? And will this other wolf totally flip if I do so? Golly, I wish I knew this land better, she thought. She absentmindedly stretched, extending her white, feathered wings to their full span. Then, she noticed this and tucked them back in quickly. Even though she got the feeling that it would be hard to fluster this wolf, she didn't want to lose a possible guide.

Zaki watched her for a moment, knowing for a fact she was not from these harsh lands. Really, Zaki knew it could be difficult to navigate through here it'd be easier if the other just flew out of here. But all the same, she nodded her head, 'Follow me. And keep your legs up, the root systems under hear can be terrible.' And if you get caught could take a while to get untangled. She motioned gently with her head to follow and turned to continue to find some where high enough from the waters that were sure to come.

I'm a terrible person, forgot all about this one. Again. GRRRR. I do have something in the works, though, and I'll get it up soon.

"Okay then; I'll follow to the den," Tala replied, not showing her relief. She trotted up behind the other, having to take two steps to the she-wolf's every one. Should I use my Race you spell? she thought, panting slightly but still not winded. The stormclouds continued to approach, and the sky grew darker and darker. That's it, she thought as she tripped over a branch for the third time, this time falling flat out on her stomach with an "Oof!". I'm using my foot-light spell. She quickly jumped back up, performing her A Light for my Feet spell as she did so. A bright, tealy light suddenly began to glow from all four of her pads, and soon, it moved to cover her entire paw, stopping right at the edge of her white markings. I love my magic!! she thought, finally able to move around without tripping. She realized that she was losing the other wolfess, and sped up to catch her, realizing at the same time that she didn't know her guide's name. As soon as she caught up, she asked, "What's your name, if you don't mind telling? I've given you mine, so my curiosity's only swelling." She continued trotting on, secretly starting to get tired but trying her best to not show it. Come on, Tala, you've run farther distances than this! She sighed under her breath, mentally cursing her age.
