One thing he hadn't expected was so many of his pack to be lost in the wars. He had told them to infiltrate and blend in, but stay far from the fray. No such luck. Some he had heard were killed because they thought to be traitors to the other side. Well they were traitors, but not for the others side. They were scouting for him, keeping tabs on gossip and rumors that he could use to fuel the flame to the Empress and her mate.
And the Empress would believe his words. He could see the want in her eyes. Yes, he had preyed upon it to his advantage. She allowed his pack to stay for shelter and he in turn helped spark the war. The war that was entirely too short. He had been hoping it would last longer, till Giaku swallowed Shinkou and Akeru whole. Then he could allow the empire to fold in on itself. No luck there. But that was fine.
Now that the war was over he was going to need a different approach. And for that, he was going to require more members of his pack. Lufelon knew he could recruit whomever and whatever he wished, but the Olu was picky. He needed devout followers. Mindless individuals who would cater to his every whim without asking why. Those were the pack members he needed. And if you were of his breed, you got special positions. You were never sent into battle to die. He needed his race to live on and prosper.
The ash gray wolf gazed around the area. His large horns curling around like a rams gave him an imposing look. But those yellow eyes were kind, gentle with a huge amount of wisdom. He had come here to recruit and hopefully he'd be successful.
