Aiu trudged wearily through the forest, silence enveloping her as moonlight pierced through the cracks in the trees. She was a scout, a toran, shouldn't she be happy? No, you will never be happy... The voice sneered maliciously in the fae's thoughts. The she-wolf winced at the sound. Even if it had been of her own imagination, the cruelty in those words cut her thoroughly. She sighed, turning to nose at her wing when a familiar ache began. How long had it been since that night? Days? Months? Years? The adolescent wolfess didn't know, nor did she care. The time had passed, but the pain hadn't gone away.
'Torik...'
The wind seemed to whisper his name. The male who had found her, wounded and travel weary. The male who had captured her heart only to disappear.... "Torik..." The word was less than a whisper, hardly a breath on the breeze which caressed Aiu's thick coat. Still, the silence suddenly seemed bloated with noise, some spell shattered at the sound of her voice. But she had to say it, speak his name as if it would bring him back to her. Almost believing it would happen, the fae glanced about her, coming to a halt. Nothing. Only darkness greeted her jade eyes. This hurt almost worse than the male's sudden departure... The knowledge that he was no longer there, that he had gone, that she was alone...
Aiu shook her fur out, the ache having subsided in her wing, and continued on. This wasn't the time to let her head run away with such foolish thoughts. The past was the past, and she knew better than anyone that you had to let the past die. Let it stay behind you and rot. However, her faith on such philosophies had been shaken of late. The she-wolf had done so much fretting, and worrying, things she had never done in the past. It wasn't like her. What's wrong with me..?
You're going crazy... The voice sneered in the femme's head, it's voice as gruesome the sight of mangled body. You're loosing your mind and you're going to die.... You did this to yourself and now you will die.... No! She refused to accept this as the truth! With a yelping snarl, Aiu surged forward, her snowy figure a blur as she raced through the trees. Angelic wings flared and gave small flaps to push her forward and over downed trees, dainty paws kicked up clods of frozen earth and snow. She had to get away, had to find a place where this pain couldn't reach her.
Snow and dirt flew up in a wave as she came to a halt. What was she doing? She couldn't run from herself so why was she trying? I'm a fool! The thought seemed to strengthen her, cushioning the resolve which had been so easily shaken. I was an idiot to think there could have been anything between us! A cool hate entered into her system, the familiar detachment of the wolf she once had been. Love is just a pup's fairy tale. The mask settled onto her face, concealing any sign that emotion had once existed upon such an uncaring visage. Focus on the material.... Emotions are a hindrance and can only bring you down... An icy glint came into her eyes, wings drawn tightly into her sides, ears swiveling to catch even the tiniest of sounds, long fluffy tail swishing slowly across her heels. She was a toran. A scout of the Voyani pack, the shadow in the darkness, the hidden ear to catch your secrets, when the situation called for it she was the assassin who stole your final breath. She was Aiu, and she would not be hurt again.
Her ears flicked behind her. Something had changed. The air had been displaced. Someone was there. Anger blossomed in the fae's veins. How dare this wolf disturb her solitude?! She would rip the life right out of their throats! Aiu's lilting voice was cool and seductive when she spoke, calling out her unwanted visitor. "You can come out now. Don't make me come find you, the out come would be far less pleasant..." She was angry, and she wanted blood. Revenge on anyone for the pain Torik had inflicted upon her by leaving. Someone would pay, and pay dearly...[/color]

ooc: Can I join? I have no life and am bored and still trying to figure out who my character is ^.^ [glow=blue,2,300]Kellyn settled low on her stomach, glad for her white fur in this chilled place as she stocked the annoying little rabbit she had been chasing for an hour now. It almost wasn't worth her time or effort to finish the hunt with as much energy she had already spent chasinging the damnable little creature. But she was hungry. Kellyn had wondered into this white world in a bout of her mindlessness once again. She spent so much of her time trying to forget her past and ignore her current longings that she quite often forgot to pay attention to where she was going. Not that she was lost, she knew where she was and how to leave, but not the name of the place or anything else. Her ears flattened against her skull and her bottomless white eyes fixed on her target and it's most likely escape route. Kellyn blocked out everything else her sight had to offer since it would simply distract her and she briefly wondered if that was such a good idea since she had already missed twice now. She had never missed this much since she was a pup still learning to cope with her unruly sight. A sudden crashing noise of a wolf running wildly through the forest startled Kellyn and her prey and this time her meal made it down a hole. Kellyn growled in frustration as she stood reaching just over three foot tall. She turned her head to see where the noise had come from when a soft voice called out through the whiteness. Kellyn didn't answer right away, she was a lone wolf in pack territory. That wasn't always a good thing. Her breath puffed out in a white cloud as she moved into the wolf's sight. No, not a wolf, a wolfess, and not a particuraly happy looking one either. Kellyn's head hung even with her shoulders in wariness, her ears were pinned forwards towards the wolf and she held her tail slightly out from her body. She was not about to offend this wolf by trying to show dominance. "I was not hiding. I was trying to catch a meal. But if I'm not welcome here, I will leave." Kellyn had no ties to any place, and despite her occasional longings, she had no desire for a pack currently. In doing so she also had no interest in fighting a pack member or any other creature for that matter.[/glow]

((OOC: Of course you can! :3))
Aiu turned her head to face the approaching fae. The newcomer was almost an entire foot shorter than herself who stood a few inches below four feet. Snowy fur and shadowed marking almost like those of Ea where what she noticed next. For a moment, the toran wondered if the two could be related, but she quickly put aside this notion as her alphess already had a sister. Besides, wouldn't Ea have spoken at least once if she had lost a litter mate in her puphood? The female held herself in an nonthreatening pose seemingly intent on not tempting a fight. Probably the smartest thing she will do all evening... The jaded fae sneered silently, emerald eyes gazing with uncaring calculation at this creature in her pack's territory.
"I was not hiding. I was trying to catch a meal. But if I'm not welcome here, I will leave." Aiu snorted, eyes narrowing and wings rustling in irritation. "Do what you want. It's your neck." The winged wolfess said, the musical tones of her voice odd when speaking such harsh words. "It's not my place to say who can and cannot hunt here anyway." She finished with a shrug and large yawn in which she stretched out both her wings and spread her narrow muzzle wide. When she straightened, she once more turned her eyes over the she-wolf. "So, who are you anyway?"[/color]

[glow=blue,2,300]Kellyn watched as the larger wolf sized her up and was relatively unconcerned. Her ears flickered back and forth listening for her nemisis rabbit. This wolfess seemed irked about something and Kellyn was fairly certain it was not a fault of her own. Still she was not about to turn her back on a larger, more capable opponent. Kellyn's errie eyes scanned the fae's display though with no iris an no pupil, it was impossible to see her eyes move. She ignored the response to her own comment and decided instead to answer the fae's question. "I'm Kellyn Selia. Or that's my name anyway. I'm not really anyone, just a wonderer." Not at all ready to move away from the wolf until she was sure she was not going to be attacked, Kellyn squared her body out with the fae's. It was harder to attack any animal from the front.[/glow]

It irritated the already upset fae how unconcerned this intruder was by her. Am I not worth being intimidated by? Perhaps if I was a male it would be better... Aiu thought venomously, still fuming over her desertion by Torik. "I'm Kellyn Selia. Or that's my name anyway. I'm not really anyone, just a wonderer." "Two names? What? Was one not good enough..?" Aiu spat, unsure herself why she was taking out her anger on this fae, but not seeing a good enough reason to quit. She gave a soft 'humph' and shrugged with a sigh, jade eyes narrowed as they watched this Kellyn square up to her.
"Well, I guess you tell me yours I'll tell you mine. I am Aiu. No last name." The winged wolfess added as an afterthought, not caring if the she-wolf wanted to know her name or not. It was then that Aiu noticed the oddity of Kellyn's eyes. The pupiless whites starred blankly into space. An unnerving effect which sent the toran to her paws, wings flaring slightly as if those eyes alone would attack her. "You... Have no iris...or pupil for that matter..." Aiu stated - captain obvious strikes again! - coiling her muscles as if Kellyn were snarling and preparing to fight.
She was afraid. This strange femme was different and that frightend the adolescent Aiu. One part of her said to run, to get away as fast and as far as she could. The other part of her said to bite, tear, rip, kill; chase this strange creature from the Voyani land and teach her never to touch pack territory again! But which side would she listen to? Since she had come her Aiu had started losing that razor edge which had once made her so dangerous. She wasn't the cold hearted killed she had been. Damn you Torik.. You did this to me... The fae snarled silently, blaming the male she had felt so close to for her softened nature. It wasn't fair, it wasn't fair at all. Why should she have to deal with this? So what if it was technically her job to inspect any wolf who stepped into their territory? She didn't want to!
Oh stop being such a pup. The voice snarled irritatedly. Even though Aiu had grown to hate whatever this thing was inside her head, she too had to admit that she was acting like a whelp.[/color]

[glow=blue,2,300]Kellyn closed her eyes and turned her head away from the wolfess in pain. She was not unaware of the her though, she would not be taken by surprise. Aiu would not be the first to condemn her for her heritage. "No, I don't, but I see far more than most. I am part demon." Still she sensed an anger in the fae that was not her own doing. "I do not have two names, but one. Kellyn meaning powerful, and Selia meaning blind." Kellyn pinned the wolfess with gaze once more. "I'm not blind however, and despite my demon blood, I am not evil." Kellyn could almost see the war that raged in the wolfess. Run or fight. She was stronger than Kellyn was, Kellyn knew that, but Kellyn was not helpless. Aiu would not know that however. Not yet. It wouldn't be a difficult thing to figure out given a chance or two. Kellyn didn't want to give the wolfess that chance. An old anger blossomed in the white wolf's chest, an anger at what she was and who other condemned her to be. But she held it back. It would do her no good here. Silently, she pulled herself up, determined not she be cowed by the larger wolf's seeming hatred of her. Kellyn was a proud creature and she was part demon, and so help her, the rest of the world would eventually accept it. Kellyn's anger flowed into her muscles, into her head, and she controled it as she had a thousand times before. If the fae wanted to fight, to damn her like so many others, Kellyn would be ready. She had been a fighter for her pack, a protector, and she had learned her lessons well. Still, she did not want to fight, she could not see a favorable outcome if it come down to such. "You see me as evil, demon, because my eyes are not like those you know. I see a million futures from a thousand possible choices all the time. You have not yet made up your mind." Kellyn's normally soft, feminine voice took on a hard edge, delicate and sharp like the edge of a sword. It was a defense mechanism, to seperate herself from the situation, so she could not be hurt by it.[/glow]

"I am part demon." Aiu's eyes narrowed further in her distrust. Not only was this milk eyed wolfess a trespasser, she was a demon as well. Those words echoed in the winged fae's mind; Part demon... Part demon.. Even as Kellyn explained the duality of her name, all the toran could think of was that one word. The demon blood which ran through the white wolf's veins. Jade eyes turned upon the femme's markings. She should have known them to be the first sign. When those burning gemstones raised again, Aiu's breath caught in her throat. Kellyn once more held her gaze with a vice grip, her blank eyes unnerving and thus infuriating the fae more. She was new and strange and dangerous, and Aiu was painfully alone and vulnerable, anger blossoming out of the mixed emotions. It was because this anger hadn't been properly controlled that that gaze had been turned upon her. That strange, otherworldly gaze...
"You see me as evil, demon, because my eyes are not like those you know. I see a million futures from a thousand possible choices all the time. You have not yet made up your mind." Kellyn said with a voice of steel. Aiu choked down a growl at the sound. She rationalized it as a challenge, and her entire body screamed at her lack of answer. "You are evil, how can a demon be anything but...?" The winged wolfess countered, spitting the word out as if it left a bad taste in her mouth. Demon. How many times had she used that very word as an insult? How many times had she been called such vulgar terms herself? There was no doubt in her mind that to be a demon meant you were the baddest of the bad, the most evil of evils. In no world would the word be taken kindly. "And on top of that you read the futures, puh! Probably hellish prattle about nonsense. No one can see the future, they would go insane with what they saw.."

((ooc: It's ok, i'm the only one without a life ^.^)) [glow=blue,2,300]Kellyn bared her teeth in an almost grin at Aiu's comment. She was not evil, irritated, but not evil. What kind of creature was pure enough to get off judging her. She growled low in her throat. "You know nothing, wolfess, nothing." Kellyn was not snarling not yet. Demon. Kellyn had not chosen to be demon. She watched this creature in front of her, watch the possible choices she would make and where they would lead, the chances of them not fighting growing dimmer by the minute. Hellish prattle. She snorted. She would show the know-it-all wolfess prattle. Growling again, Kellyn's gaze flickered to the other creatures who were now beginning to take shelter against the angry predators. "The rabbit I was chasing earlier has decided to make a run for it, it's hiding place is too small, a small flock of birds above us will leave, there's about a dozen mice deciding if food is worth the risk of getting eaten. And you, Aiu, have still not decided whether or not to attack me. I can see you want to. You want to destroy me." There was no grin on Kellyn's face now. If the fae bothered to watch, she would see these immediate futures come true. The rabbit would take off though it could choose a dozen different directions, and the birds would leave but whether by a few or enmass Kellyn didn't bother to try and determine. It was useless. And the fae had not made up her mind, so the possibilities were still unsure. "I do not see what will happen next week, or even an hour from now. And if you must know, I'm not insane, it used to make me quite dizzy." Kellyn grinned again, curious to whether she would push the wolf into attacking her. She was angry and she used it as a shield. She had learned to do as much when she was a pup. Now she would put into practice once again.[/glow]

"You know nothing, wolfess, nothing." Aiu returned Kellyn's grin with a wicked smirk of her own. "I know more than you could comprehend..." She snapped, the derogatory tone she used showing her unease - though at this point it was common knowledge. You want to destroy me." Kellyn stated, the grin gone from her face and replaced with the growl of her voice. Aiu snorted, unphased by this information. "Any knowledgeable hunter would be able to see that. It's simply watching the world around you, nothing surreal about that." She gave a 'humph' of a laugh, sneering as she spoke again. "Hellish prattle."
There came a scurrying of claws against the dirt; the rabbit had darted away, off to find a better hiding place. There was a fluttering of wings as one bird launched itself into the air, its fellows quickly following suit. The adolescent fae could almost taste the group of mice Kellyn had mentioned; could almost feel their fear as her own. Strange, she had never imagined she would share an emotion with a prey creature... But Aiu was determined not to let this bother her, determined not to believe the milky eyed she-demon had foreseen this. She just pays good attention... The winged wolfess rationalized, angry with herself for even considering the possibility that such foolishness could be true. "Destroy you? If I wanted you dead, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now." Aiu informed the female with a snarl, confident in her own fighting abilities. The techniques she had honed her entire life, the tricks and feints she had practiced on unlucky victims until perfected; until she had become the killing machine. Gann.... The name drifted through her mind, unwanted and unprompted. But the single word was all that was needed to spark a wildfire of question. What would he say if he saw her now? Whose side would he take? Would he go as far to attack her? If he did, who would win...?
"I do not see what will happen next week, or even an hour from now. And if you must know, I'm not insane, it used to make me quite dizzy." For once, Aiu was grateful of Kellyn's jeers as they yanked her from her troubling thoughts. If there was one place the lithe creature didn't need to dwell, it was her own mind. "You know, I've been told you can always tell those who have truly 'lost it' because of their denial." She gave another humphing laugh. "Looks like you just completed step one." For a brief second, Aiu wondered if this was all a trick. Some game to goad her into a trap. Was Kellyn really the member of some pack trying to steal the territory out from under their noses? What if she had more wolves waiting just out of hearing, or smelling range? No, stop... What if's aren't going to get me anywhere... The fae chastised herself. She would know if others were near... Wouldn't she?
((OOC: lol xD trust me bball isn't much of a life. Oh, I was thinking of bringing Gann in to play peacemaker and save Kellyn from more verbal abuse xD Just a heads up if you would like your wolife to see him coming or something! =)))

((lol ok. she see's a wolf could happen upon them but not much else. sorry its so short)) [glow=blue,2,300]Kellyn sat down and snorted. "Ok, great one. Tell me what will happen next." She was irritable and it showed. Her gaze flickered around the area. She saw a wolf but didn't yet know if it would happen upon the two fae or not. It was not the creature's intention as of yet. Silently she turned her attention back to the fae andwaited for her answer. Let her disprove Kellyn if she could. "As for being insane, I don't talk to myself or hear voices in my head." Kellyn shrugged, unaware of the internal dialouge the wolfess had been having with herself. "I do not see things that are not true, simply all the immediate things that could be." [/glow]

"Ok, great one. Tell me what will happen next." Aiu snorted, unimpressed. "Figure it out for yourself, after all you're the one with the all seeing eye and what not aren't you?" Of course she could figure out what was going on around her in mere seconds, could predict the outcome of the actions of the creatures around them. She just didn't have the time.... At least that's what the slender fae told herself.
"As for being insane, I don't talk to myself or hear voices in my head." Aiu almost yelped in shock. Did she know? Could she somehow hear - or see - the voice which snarled and sneered within the toran's fragile mind? Of course not, that's just stupid. The femme reassured herself sternly, but the conviction to truly convince her of this statements truth simply wasn't there. "I do not see things that are not true, simply all the immediate things that could be." Maybe Kellyn really didn't know after all, maybe her words had been ignorantly spoken and Aiu was safe. Safe from what? I was never in jeopardy... There was nothing to endanger her, she wasn't sickly or ill. Her mental stability was perfectly intact..wasn't it? Yes it is!! She was tired of this she-wolf, tired of the insecurities she invoked within herself and tired of the anger which was already beginning to ebb. A whimper was just barely held back in the winged wolfess' throat. She just wanted to go home...
"Well, there's a first for everything. I'm sure it won't be long before those whispers start ticking away at your sanity..." Aiu said, her voice lacking the steely edge it had once possessed now simply sounding bored. Perhaps this would work in her favor, if Kellyn thought Aiu no longer thought of her as being worth the argument then perhaps she would simply leave and the angelic creature would be able to go home as she wished. Then again, it could just anger the stranger more and end up starting a completely new argument. An sigh erupted in the toran's mind. Such a hassle... Such a hassle..[/color]

((ooc: sorry it's so short. I'll let you decide which direction the plot takes now as it is Aiu's pack's territory ^.^)) [glow=blue,2,300]Kellyn igorned the other fae's taunts. Glancing around she sighed, tired of playing games. "If you have no other issues with me, wolf, I would like to catch my dinner." Kellyn admitted she might have been slightly aggitated to have lost the rabbit but mostly she was hungry. She hadn't eaten anything for a couple dayns now. A fight was not what she needed. It would expend extra energy she could use towards something more productive. Turning slightly Kellyn began to walk off, keeping the larger wolfess in sight. She didn't want to be caught by surprise and she hoped the fae would either give up and let her go or attack and put an end to this nagging stalemate. The two would never get anywhere by trying to insult each other and provoke the other. She growled slightly to herself and saw the chances of her going on about her way easily diminishing by the second. [/glow]

"If you have no other issues with me, wolf, I would like to catch my dinner." Aiu snorted at the note of finality in Kellyn's voice. The loner fae moved as if to leave, though she kept the toran in her sights. The pack wolf smirked. "You are free to roam these lands, I never said anything about hunting our food." The winged wolfess snorted, as if adding her own note of decision to the argument. "Come now, Aiu. No one would miss a few rabbits." The female in question gave a low growl, echoing the one Kellyn had previously given. The voice was as unmistakable as the large ghostly figure which appeared from the trees, seeming almost materialize out of the darkness. "Gann..." Aiu said, taking a few steps away though the new male had shown no aggression dice his arrival. Quite the opposite, he flashed a wolfish grin at the demon wolf, a picture perfect host. "In fact, as long as we are being reasonable, why don't we lend a helping paw in this endeavor?"
Gann had been watching for a few moments, long enough to see that Aiu had been misbehaving. It was only right that he should step in. Imagine his surprise when he saw the odd resemblance between Kellyn and his alphess. However, he had hidden this shock well, asking to assist the strange fae with her hunt. Aiu glared angrily at his offer, obviously not having taken to the stranger. Luckily, she kept quiet. "Pardon me, I have been rude in my anonymity." Gann said, smiling as his bright eyes shone with cheerful brilliance. "My name is Gann, and who might you be?"

((sorry it took me a while to answer. bad couple of days.)) [glow=blue,2,300]Kellyn wasn't completely surprised to see the wolf. She turned to face both wolves seeming to stare straight past them when in fact her gaze simply flickered from one to the other. "I really don't need any help. I'm quite capable of catching my own meal." She wasn't insultive. Kellyn ignored the female purposely and gave her attention to the large male. He was handsome but Kellyn was wary of other wolves being treated as she had so often. She wasn't ready to trust a handsome stranger with a smile. Kellyn watched him and considered her options. "Besides I don't think Aiu would appreciate helping me. Nor I her. I'm demon and evil as she has so clearly pointed out." There was a heavy sarcasm in her voice. Kellyn was used to being feared and hated by now but she still wished others would quit seeing what she was and in turn see who she was. Yet instead of turning and leaving once again she waited. Kellyn didn't know quite why. Yet she stood there and waited for the male to make his move.[/glow]

The female denied his help and Gann gave a small shrug. "Besides I don't think Aiu would appreciate helping me. Nor I her. I'm demon and evil as she has so clearly pointed out." Demon. The word rang in Gann's ears. A word which had once meant an enemy now simply evoked a warriness which the large male was able to easily hide. He frowned, turning to look at the winged fae on his left flank. "Aiu? Why would you think simply because she is a demon that she has to be evil?" His voice was disappoited, the reprimanding tones of a stern father though he was in no way related to the fae he spoke to. Aiu blinked, angry shock coating her face.
"A better question might be why wouldn't you?!" The winged wolfess replied, her voice higher than usual due to the mix of confusion and anger. Gann merely frowned and shook his head. "Because I have learnt from my mistakes." The she-wolf snorted and turned away, glaring frigidly at a tree. The large male turned back to Kellyn with an apologetic smile. "I'm sure she wouldn't mind, she's quite a helpful creature." Gann said in response to the stranger's last statement, ignoring the venemous glare he recieved from the young femme he had 'taken under his wing'.
Unbelievable! How he thinks he's going to lecture me... Stupid male... Aiu fumed silently, glaring hard at Gann's back. Her gaze finally ripped away and turned toward the ground, an inanimate thing which she could unleash her full powers on. But Kellyn was there... That pesky female, was getting in the way... Ice crystals slowly began to form in the half frozen dirt as Aiu's gaze lowered the temperature of the earth even more. No... She isn't going to know just yet... The she-wolf decided, looking back up at the tresspasser as Gann fell silent again. Hopefully she would deny him once more and they could all be ontheir merry little ways.
