Months now...It's been months since he left on his expedition of his territory. All of the Akatsuki was empty, completely inactive. He wasn't really searching for outsiders, not many wander this far to stop by for a visit. But still, not even a member of his own pack could be spotted; not even on these beautiful plains. No pups were playing in the fields, no squads out patrolling the boundaries, it was like everyone had just gone. Other than the occasional squad taking down a fire deer Sanka hadn't made any contact with another member of Akatsuki.
He knew when he joined this pack that it was separated into very independent Squads that acted on the orders of one leader. He liked the idea, very militarized, perfect for him to move through the ranks and catch the eye of their alphess. Luckily he was assigned to Squad 4, the Squad that carried out swift and precise punishment to all who defied their leader. He expected his extensive combat knowledge, and skill would help him easily catch the eye of his squads captain, but due to their lack of work he was still stuck in the 3rd chair position. He longed for the thrill of combat with his fellow squad members.
He sat, the long grass providing a wonderful cushion. For now the soil was still soft and moist, but with summer on its way these fields will soon become nothing more than kindling for the raging fires that often consume large parts of this land. He sucked in a large breath of the crisp, cool evening air and let out a mournful howl. His howl broke into its usual array different pitches, harmonizing with itself, and obscuring the fact that he was actually alone and not howling with other members of his pack. He hoped any Akatsuki within the area would hear it and come running. It was time to stir things up!
