The lone femme sat as still as stone while watching the sun setting across the water, her own pelt colours nearly blending in aside from the pinks and purples that were ever so radiant in the sky. With the calm waves lapping at her front paws while she sat, nothing could stop this from being a perfect moment except for the thoughts she carried in her head. Despite the lovely scene which was indeed attention drawing, the femme couldn't enjoy it as much as she once had, feeling completely alone. Vivid lowered her head; the action breaking the still picture while she looked into the water, swiftly moving a paw to disrupt her reflection before getting up, and stalking off through the still sun-warmed sand. Her paws were soundless and her ears perked as a bird squawked, her silence broken for only a moment. Her mind wandered to thoughts when she'd been with other wolves, having been alone for at least a few months. Company was rare out here it seemed, but Vivi didn't care to travel back to the pack lands. She'd find company here... With a heavy sigh she padded through the warm sand, curling up in a slight hole of it near a palm, head resting on her paws as night began to sink in. A warm breeze ruffled her fur, and carried along it a lonely howl; silence following again.
(Thought I could do better, but I've been off of canine RP for quite a while. But I've decided to return~ So mind my lack of muse for the moment, I'll get it back. <3)

A large grey brute meandered through the forest, cranium carried low so that his nares may catch the scent of any others along their path. Deep sun-kissed orbs glanced behind him to ensure his daughter was able to keep his pace. They had traveled far this time, from the far north, seeking neutral territory. The last thing Axel wanted at the moment was to be confronted by those who controlled the nearby packlands. Perhaps they might join another pack one day, but now was not the time. He would much rather become at ease with the flora and fauna surrounding them before making the decision to stay. He wanted only the best place to continue raising Amara, and with only the best company that may help her grow into the beautiful fae he knew that she would become. His love for her reflected clear in his gaze as he turned his head and a light smile lifted the corners of his maw. "Not very much farther, love. I smell water up ahead. We'll drink and then stop for the evening to rest." Turning his head back to the forefront, he scanned the area again as they moved through the trees.
Amara kept close to her daddy's right flank, silvery audits twitching this way and that. Her crania hung low like his, but more from exhaustion than to gather scents. They had been on the move for so long! Not that she minded too much. She would follow her daddy anywhere and besides, the longer they walked, the farther it took them away from.. Well, far away from the memories she'd much rather not think about. Gems the color of the midday sky alighted to the branches above, where the setting sun peeked in through the leaves. Sometimes, when she looked up at the heavens she wondered if her momma was looking down on her and Daddy. Was that even possible?
Her attention snapped back to reality as her sire spoke to her. She gave a nod, but otherwise made no attempt to respond. Lifting her rust-tinged muzzle, she took a whiff of the air to see if she could catch the scent her daddy mentioned. She continuously tried to learn from her father, wanting to one day be even half as strong as he was. If she tried she could almost smell the moist dirt and minerals. Keeping pace with his much-longer pennants required her to move at a brisk trot, so her muscles had already been aching but she would never complain. Although she was glad to be settling down soon. Maybe soon they could settle down somewhere they wouldn't have to keep on wandering around.. But her daddy knew best.
Axel slowed to a light walk as they drew nearer to the lake. It was almost in view through the brush and trees ahead, but more pressing was that a new scent reached his nares along with the sound of water splashing. He was still a bit too far away to tell anything other than it belonged to another wolf, but he could not quite tell the gender nor if there were others around. More cautious now, the brute halted and lowered his broad skull to whisper quietly to the light ashen pup to stay still and quiet. He inched forward and raised his head as high as it would reach, flag lifted behind him as he sniffed again, seeking with all senses to gather more information. He sensed only one lupine, and just as the thought crossed his mind, a breeze blew gently through the trees and there came the sound of a fae's mournful song. Feeling more at ease that there was no imminent threat, he looked to Amara and gestured for her to follow once more. As he led her clear through the brush, he shifted his gaze first to the glistening water then to spot the femme of an earthy hue lying under a tree not twenty feet off to his left, alone as he had suspected. With Mara in tow, he trotted up to the lake's edge and lowered his muzzle to take a long, refreshing drink. When he finished, Axel lifted his head once more and looked again in the unknown female's direction, a few droplets sprinkling from his chin. "Tis a fine evening, miss. Why so sad?" He inquired, head tilting a bit at the end. Looking down to his right, his daughter had just finished sipping from the pool and now stood again at his flank, peeking at the femora from under his belly. She had always been the shy sort. Returning his attention to the stranger, he spoke again. "We aren't intruding on your space, I hope?" Ears pricked forward, a light smile touched his face, trying to show he absolutely meant her no harm. Such was never in his nature.
