The day had been hot, as many were in the Giaku lands... especially in the canyons. But the sky grew dark as storm clouds accumulated and finally the skies released their hold. The rain downpoured, turning dirt to mud and soaking through the fur of any animal which might find itself out and about at such a time.
She ran through the rain, cursing herself for not paying more attention to the weather. It didn't take long before she was soaked and she could feel her steps become heavier. Still, she knew there was plenty of refuge in the Keikoku Canyons. Her odd-colored eyes looked around for one of the many caves. The peaks to either side loomed around her, but she paid them no mind. At last! She darted into the entrance, shaking out her deep blue-black fur. Drenched and in shadow, it appeared more black, the blue like a mere highlighted gleam. All except for her white foreright paw. She was a petite yet strong wolfess, pretty, though it was clear she was plagued by emotion and thought which was etched into her face. She was also getting older. Adorning her neck was a wolfish mane of fur and she slunk deeper into the cave, the thick tufts at the end of her long tail dragging across the rocky floor leaving a trail of water. From her back were three horns, curled at the ends, and in a triangular pattern, the top between her shoulder blades.
This was MoriĆ¢. Once considered a traitor and hated of Giaku, with death on her head for being a devout follower of the glorious Endymion. Now mother of the Empress she was proud of her daughter. She often spent time alone... especially here in the canyons where on one of the many cliffs her mate had been murdured as a spectacle for all to see. She relived it in her head so very often. But that was not now.
As she gazed out into the pouring rain, she thought of a different event which was just as much an impact as the first. Her beloved had been somehow brought back. She had seen him just afterward with her own creamy white and deep blue eyes. At first, she had thought she was merely dreaming. How could it be possible? But it was. Yet for some reason, he had not allowed her to spend time with him. Neither Mascamora. He had bid them to return to Giaku as if nothing had happened. No one must yet know of his return. MoriĆ¢ now knew it was her older daughter who had resurrected him from his grave. She was still in awe a bit from it. There was just too much to think about!
How she longed to see him again. But she knew she must wait. Something had been different with him. He hadn't exactly been the Endymion she had fallen in love with. But what was it? She couldn't quite figure it out yet. She had to spend time and speak with him. Surely, it would reveal itself! She shook her head, pushing all of her pondering from her mind. There were other things to think of and do. Other matters at hand.
She looked around the cave briefly and then gazed once again at the entrance. As soon as the storm lifted she would return to the tower and the rest of the Nobility. But for now.. she was stuck in this cave. Who knew, perhaps some other fool would have been out and about venturing and gotten caught in it. Perhaps some other would come wandering in momentarily. In any case, she lay down, making herself comfortable.
