Kaj padded forward strongly. His mangled hind leg making his walk somewhat lopsided but he didn't care. He had three crooked ribs a crooked jaw and a mangled leg, yet he was still alive and kicking. He did miss sacha and diseree but he was a male dire. Feelings should be left to his soft side.
Kaj was in the demon lands but he was not afraid. In fact he was excited. Maybe a wolf will join him. He threw back his large head in a great deep howl and sang to the rising sun of hope love and hurt, hoping that some sold will hear.

Wind walked slowly along the soft pine needled ground, she was tired and her paws stung even though the ground was soft. Her stomach growled with hunger. She sighed wishing she can go back the times when she was well fed and had a nice bed and a fire to curl up to. With a pain of sad sadness she remember how lonely she was, the only thing she wanted most right now was the somone to be with. As she walked along she heard a howl from another wolf. Happiness flowed though her as she bolted of in the direction of the howl. "Finally, a wolf who might want me around!" she thought to herself. As she got closer she saw the wolf who had howled. She quickly hid not knowing what the wolf might do, she had been chased and bitten by other wolves before. She nervously watched the other wolf thinking if she should go near it and talk to it or stay where she was and se what happens.

Kaj had waited after his howl and sighed in defeat. No answer. He heaved himself to his paws and began to pad away when her scent hit his nose. His tail began to wag furiously and a excited whine exscaped his maw.
"you can come out. I won't hurt you. My name is Kaj." he rasped in excitement. He prances in place as he waited for the female to show herself. He laid down in a sudden thought.
"don't be afraid. I'm sorry. I'm a dire wolf. I'm sorta scared up from leaving my pack and a bad hunting trip. I'm really sorry if I scare you. I don't mean to." Kaj said with a whine.

Wind hesitated a little but as soon as the wolf spoke excitement filled up inside of her. She jumped up and with a little whimper of excitement she ran up face to face with the wolf, with her tail wagging fiercely.
"Hi, nice to meet you Kaj, my name is Wind!" she whimpered excitedly.
Even though she was small and about half the size of Kaj he didn't seem scarey to her at all anymore, all the scars that covered the wolf's body didn't bother her. She was just happy to find another wolf that wanted her around.

Kaj smiled in happiness and began to prance before he heard his stomach growl. He cringed in embarrassment and looked sheepishly at wind.
"would you like to hunt with me? I may not be of much use at the moment but if u chase anything to me I can bring it down." Kaj said kindly to wind. He was extremely excited that he wasn't alone now. That some other wolf accepted him. A female no less and a non dire. He was so happy, his heart raced a mile a minute and his breath came in shot gasps of excitement.
" it is good to finally have company." Kaj said, his large bushy tail waggin furiously.

Wind looked at him sympathetically, she was starving too and had nothing to eat for days. She was used to having her food already there for her since she had been raised like a dog all her life. Living in the wild was hard but she knew that she would have to get used to it.
She smiled and wagged her tail, "sure I'd love to, I'm starving." She had know idea how to hunt but she thought it was worth trying.
"And I feel the same too, I'm glade I found you." She said smiling.

Kaj barked happily his bad leg giving out and him collapsing on the ground in result. He began to laugh. With his breathless laughter came the most shocking pain to his ribs he ever felt. A cough racked his body making him wince in pain.
"I'm sorry. Let's go on a hunt. Rabbit ok with you? I don't think I can help take down a deer or elk any time soon. I got Hutton my last hunt. I'm sorry Wind." Kaj said in between coughs and the hacking.

Right when he started coughing she jumped up and ran to him and said, "Are you ok? Are you sure you can hunt? Don't try moving!" Her voice was shaky and she was scared that she was going to loose him and that she was going to be left alone again. She looked at his leg noticing that it was bleeding, scared that it might be infected she reached down and started licking his wound as gently as possible hopping that it might do somthing.

Kaj grinned at wind. His tail thumped the ground and he smiled gently.
"I'm fine. I need to find a healer one day. But now your hungry so let's hunt. Rabbits sound great. I can try to get something bigger if you like." Kaj paused and took a breath.
" I promise. I will not disappear on you. I'm tired of being lonely and now that I'm not, I'm not about to let it all go.@

Wind was still a little unsure she whimpered a little and said, "ok, if you say so...
She paused a little then her face lit up and she wagged her tail and said," anything sounds great to me I'm starving." She licked her lips and jumped up. She paused and thought that mabey she should tell him that she didn't know how to hunt and that is only a half-breed. But she was afraid that he might think she was useless and she thought that it would just be embarrassing if he knew anyway.

"you're not scared that I am a dire wolf are you Wind?" Kaj asked seeing the hesitation on the young wolf's face. He closed his eyes exspecting the worse to come from her maw. He was not ready to be rejected yet pup his new friend. Sure she did not know of what happened in the past, maybe one day he could tell her, but he never wanted his past to haunt him.
With a grunt of pain, Kaj rose unsteadily to his paws and tried to stretched his damaged leg, only to shake in pain. He grunted again and smiled at wind, reassuring and kind. Hisblue eyes twinkled as he turned and waited for wind to join him.
" if something is bugging you, you van tell me, I won't judge. It's not like I have room to talk anyways, you know?"

Wind looked at him and smiled, " Your the only dire I've meet and I don't think your scarey." She watched him get up then padded over to him. She wasn't sure if she should tell him yet but she knew it would be just as embarrassing if he sees her mess up while hunting as it would be telling him here. She took a deep breath thinking about how she should say it.
"Well, there is one thing... I kind of don't know how to hunt.." she said turning her head away afraid of what he might say.
